Web-Based Movement Wants to Block Obama’s Move to White House

November 29th, 2008

Obama

Before Barack Obama officially becomes president, the Electoral College has to vote him in on December 15. The Electoral College is an appointed body created by the founding fathers, to be the last safeguard with the voting power to certify or reject the President-elect after the American public votes for him or her on Election Day. Now, a small group, mostly based in the South, has started an Internet campaign questioning Obama’s citizenship, claiming that he was born in Kenya. State officials in several states report receiving an increased number of letters from citizens requesting the name, identity and contact info for their states reps to the Electoral College. Traffic on one Web site supporting the campaign, Obamacrimes.com, has spiked to 105 million hits since Election Day, reports the Christian Science Monitor. Former presidential hopeful Alan Keyes is involved in the movement and lawsuits have been filed in two states in an effort to block Obama’s presidency. “People are going after electors now because they can only vote for a qualified candidate, and [Obama] hasn’t shown he’s qualified,” says Philip Berg of Lafayette Hill, Pa., a Democrat and lawyer who has filed two lawsuits calling Obama’s citizenship into question. Experts say the chances of Electoral College members voting against the will of the people are next to none.  But the movement’s members are actively contacting Electoral College voters, with audacity and hope, in a last-ditch effort to switch the outcome of the historic ‘08 elections.

I have only one question for the individuals who find themselves attempting to challenge the legitimacy of a President who was ELECTED LEGALLY BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE without any doubt or manipulation, circumventing any vote to win this election by a landslide fare and square; why didn’t this same group attempt to block the current president -George Bush’s, election in 2000, and 2004, when we all know that his win was totally fraudulent, because the United States Supreme Court place him in office, not the people!! President Bush, committed many other crimes as well, so this group has many things they could be going to court about on George Bush. YOU WON’T WIN BECAUSE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES HAVE SPOKEN!!!!!!

U have got to be fricken kidding me!! What surprises me the most is that I keep hearing about democrats helping to make decisions that Barack dont is worthy enough to be in office. The man aint even had the chance to do wrong and hes doubted by civil rights leaders, and democrats. Bush background was well known and he still made it into office. NOW LOOK AT US!!!!! Everybody keep saying, “Barack in office now yeaaaa we gon have better jobs now and the white people cant tell us nothing.” U IDIOTS!!!! He cant do it alone its your governors and mayors who need step up too. Barack cannot fix everything in 1 year its gon take time and I think the black community is holding Barack at much of a high standard. So when things dont go as everyone expected they gon start acting like he didnt do as he said he would. LET THE MAN HAVE THE CHANCE TO MAKE THE CHANGE!!!! Dont doubt him before he even gets in……

Not just the South; but, parts of the Midwest, too. Look at the Election Map! Ok, BET has blogged this information. How are you going to keep us informed on this situation? Will you post links that can be used to email our complaints like the PETA did against Michael Vick?

So very very true.

Relationships such as I have; I am half white, half puerto rican, the wifey is black (haitian), and our son is a mix of us both.

For the first time in history, we as a Black race have lived to see someone who looks like us in the white house. For centuries, we have been tax payers and have had to conform to all of the laws of the land made by white politicians as all other American citizens, yet all of a sudden, this type of racial pressure and controversy has risen because of the color of our president-elect’s skin.

It amazes me how sick in the mind people who are supposedly intelligent and educated are to think like this.

I pray for God’s protection over our President-elect and his family. I love the Obama family.

You people messing with Obama need to get a life. You want your president and no I am not prejudice, but you want your president in office, what good have they done so far. Look at the war! We are deploying to Iraq just to be deploying. We should have been out of there and I am a member of the armed forces and this is ridiculous. These service members can’t be with their families. Get a life.

Obama is half WHITE NOT ALL black.

I’m just tired of people saying, “America is finally ready for a black president”. This country is long overdue for a black man to be in charge! It’s just white america didn’t want one! I’m from New Orleans, La. and I’m sad to say it’s a red state. In the “white” south, they’re going crazy because it’s the first time in their lives they will have to refer to a black man as “Mr. President”. And if those ingnorant, cave dwelling, hiding behind mask red necks don’t get their minds right and catch up to speed with the rest of the world, guess what……? We’ll have another black president (in 8 years of course)! Bush exposed wealthy, white America to the rest of the world, which is greed, selfishness, corruption, and destruction. It’s something minorities had already known, and middle class whites didn’t want to admit. As a country, we need to stop electing rich folks to be in charge because they will only be looking out for their own interest! It doesn’t matter if they’re black or white! The average intelligent working man should be our “commander in chief” because they work side-by-side with the people. I just wish the cowards that’s signing those petitions would come out of hiding. I would have more respect for them.

Someone told me that our votes never counted from the getty up. The electorial college decides who the president will be, we are just the popular vote. So although we are feeling empowered by this new step in history, the fight must continue by supporting Obama and remembering that feeling of unity we felt on Nov. 4th. The system has been set since the beginning of time for betterment of the rich and non-colored. I will admit this is a last desperate attempt to stop the peoples choice, but we’ve got more worries than this. We must take action as well. The ignorant, racist, and followers of Satan don’t stop. Let the good overcome. I feel stupid cause I am so sincere and I know my comment doesn’t really matter because it is an opinion and although we feel good when can express ourselves that’s all we are doing without action. Take a stand in the right way. Like Obama, I am sure it is easy for him dealing with those kinds haters. That word was made for the people he has to fight. People with money are dangerous they give all the orders.

Honestly, I didn’t expect anything less from these cowards, especially “Coon of the year” Alan Keyes.

Whiteboyshoutin Said on

Listen everyone. I am not saying that NONE of this is racially motivated, bc I believe that some of it is. But you all have to admit. Obama has done some pretty bad stuff, associated with some pretty bad men, and said some pretty racist and unpatriotic things (including his wife). I’ve actually never HEARD of a presidential candidate having all these horrible facts about him. However, no one cared because they were all so focused on “making history” that they lost sight of who was the BETTER person to run our country (or maybe the lesser of two evils) which was McCain. Now if McCain did or said ANY of the things Obama did, he wouldn’t have had a chance. But bc Obama is black (or part black. Dsnt matter. People will still say he is black), he got away with it all. Ridiculous. It was inevitable that we were gonna have a black prez, but why did it have to be the worst possible one? Now if someone like Denzel Washington (or even Denzel) ran for prez, I would have voted for him all day bc he is a good man and dsnt pretend to be one. The fact that he is black dsnt matter to me. It’s the man I critique, not the skin. Obama will go down in history all right….as the biggest CON ARTIST we’ve ever seen. A man who has done and said the things Obama has done dsnt even deserve to be a U.S. senator, let alone president. And this whole “Obama not being born on U.S. soil” thing is absolutely valid. He STILL hasnt provided concrete evidence that he was. If he is a natural born citizen, it shouldnt be that hard to prove, right? Then what is taking him so long? And if you people don’t care if he is or isnt then we might as well just tear up the U.S. Constitution bc it obviously dsnt matter. Why should we change the constitution just bc we want a black man in office? The answer is we SHOULDN’T.

LMAO, good luck. If by some unforseen circumstance he is voted out, there is going to be hell on Earth, and its the Whites that are doing it, because they know that once he officially becomes president that its going to officially pave the way for more Black presidents. Not to get it twisted though because not all Whites are not racist. Barbera Walters already spoke of Obamas 8 years in office. Now if she predicts that its fact. Stop hatin ignorant folks, lol

kiera-bport Said on

It is all so simple! Though it may be a race issue it really isn’t. It seems as though it is always going to be someone in the background trying to find something to stop change from happening. It’s his birth certificate now, and when that is porvided and valid it will be something else.
I have read many ignorant comments on here and a few disturbed me: “if anyone of your parents are black you are considered black…..”. This is so not true. My mother is spanish born in Costa Rica as well as her parents and she has to state she is black on all transcripts based on her skin color. There is no black hispanic or white hispanic. You are stereo typed by the skin color. When a puerto rican person fills out and application they ask are u white non-hispanic/latin, african american/black (non-hispanic/latin, asian, or other and most hispanic/latino have to select other because they don’t fall under either category. For some one who is mixed they can’t select black when they look white because there mother is black. They have to select other or they can chose white. It doesn’t matter what ur parents are. I am not spanish based on my skin if someone is looking at me n make there own judgement, I am dark black girl with pretty hair as far as they know.

Obama is a citizen of the united states regardless where his father is from. My parents could had had me in an airplane going over antartica coming back from a vacation that does not make me a native of that country.
I don’t recall his birth certificate being an issue in the beginning when he began running and aren’t these documents verified before you can even get started?
Racism may play a small part to Alan Keys trying to sabotage Obama as he is trying to get revenge for being humiliated, but this is a small hurdle for obama to get through and through God and prayer it will all be possible if it is meant to be.
There is no need to b upset or offensive regarding these accusations because all good will prevail in the end..
Love and respect to all comments made and it’s great to see the voices of the people..

Whiteboyshoutin Said on

And all of the black people that are “rising up” and stating that America was only for the rich, white, evil presidents and that America NEEDS a black prez bc he is “good” can all go to Hell. You talk about white people being the only ones that are ignorant and racist when YOU are ignorant and racist. I am so sick of this. You act like it is impossible to blacks to be racist. NOT TRUE. They are just as racist as the whites that are. I read a comment that sd “there is going to be big problems if Obama dsnt get in the White House”. Yea, just like the Black Panthers were getting ready to riot if Obama didnt win Nov. 4. Its on both sides, people. And to Shaunni who aske “Why was Arnold allowed to be Governor? We all knw he wasnt born here.”, get a history lesson or two. To be a governor or senator or any political office EXCEPT president you just have to be a U.S. citizen. And Arnold is a U.S. citizen. To be PRESIDENT, you have to be a NATURAL BORN U.S. citizen. Just goes to show you that you all just want him in bc he is black. You dont care about the person. You only care about making history so you can all yell “Yaaaay! We did it! Who cares about the welfare of our country. We did it! In your face white people!” All that shows is we aren’t civilized at ALL as a country. Just childish and uneducated.

Shannon Said on

This is real mature. Why can’t we go through life without drama? Some need to stop and look what Obama is about on the inside and not the outside. His color has nothing to do with Running presidency. Obama is not even 100% black, but the ignorant people who are against this are looking at him as being black. If it was a white president, would we be going thru this. I am 100% white and I believe that Obama can make a difference. If for some reason he can’t, well then he tried. You show me one person out there who is perfect. I will give 1 million dollars if there is such a person. Just because you haven’t seen a half black president doesn’t mean he’s not real. Just think, I have never seen a million dollars, but I know that it exist.

Shannon Said on

I agree, every race is racist, but this election has gone too far. I don’t blame any race, I believe it needs to stop and we need to get on with out lives. I think this whole think has gone way out of proportion just because Obama is half black.

I would like to respond to Jackie who made a comment that there is protocol in the US which we follow! What cabbage patch did you grow up in? I don’t know if you are black or white, but you obviously have forgotten this countries history when it comes to African Americans. The protocol has always been what the White male establishment wanted it to be. Laws can be changed in the blink of an eye if they want to block something. They did it in the south when blacks tried to vote and when blacks tried to enter various schools in white communities. If anyone believes that there are not forces at work in this country that have the power to block or sabatoge Obama’s presidency then you are all crazy. The fact that a small committee of electoral college members still getss the last word should tell you something about this country. It is not a true Democracy and we all need to be vigilant.

Pay attention people, Alan Keyes is a black man!!!!
