Oprah and Obama Road Show a Hit!
December 10th, 2007
By Pamela Gentry, Senior Political Reporter
Posted Dec. 9, 2007 – The folks who packed the venues in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina weren’t disappointed. They got a chance to be in an audience with Oprah Winfrey on stage.
My sister, Phyllis Hurse, called me Saturday afternoon. “Are you watching Oprah on CNN?” she asked me. Sis lives in Orange County, Calif., known as a Republican stronghold.
I’m not sure who my sister is planning to support in the 2008 presidential race, but her phone call made me realize folks across the country were tuned in to hear what Winfrey had to say. And, Winfrey was saying that Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) should be the next president.
The pundits and political-watchers had a field day predicting the impact and influence of the world’s most powerful media mogul who decided to venture into politics.
The media, including myself, have been obsessed with the story. Winfrey’s road trip made it on the front page national and international newspapers, more than 1,600 Web site news stories. CNN carried Winfrey’s speech in Des Moines without commercial breaks on Saturday, and Sunday ABC’s cable network carried the event in Columbia, S.C., live and commercial-free.
Obama thanked Winfrey for her support, as she and his wife, Michelle, sat on stage while he delivered his stump speech. Obama acknowledged the crowds were larger this swing through the early primary states, crediting the “Oprah factor.” But it was clearly an advantage Obama has enjoyed – and, I’m sure, other candidates envied.
Winfrey called Obama “The candidate who can change America.” I think Winfrey should be called, “The celebrity who has changed campaigning.”
Who will you support? Obama? Hillary? Or neither? Talk about it.

OBAMA is clearly the best choice. And he will win. I have been with him from the beginning every since Oprah asked him to run on her show. He is doing a great job and I cannot wait until he wins. America may as well get ready. OPRAH OBAMA 08!!!

When I first heard that Obama was running for prez I was on his bandwagon. America needs something new, better, and improved. Things can’t get any worse under this current administration.
His middle name is “HUESSIN”…he’s not black, he’s ARAB…and Oprah is a sell out….I’m voting for Hilary cause that’s the only way to get Bill back.
Hell No, I’m not supporting Obama because the big O is endorsing him. If Black people read AMERICAN history and then look at the current condition of the U.S. of A, they will see why we are a great country. Furthermore, they will realize he is not ready. There is no doubt Obama is a smart and great guy but he is not ready to lead America domestically. Obama is a charismatic and seemingly sincere guy but he is not ready to lead the WORLD. America’s immigration and healthcare problems are just two issues he is not ready to handle. He has vague details about how he would deal with it and just saying “Bush messed it up and I can fix it” is not a valid solution.
P.S.
That’s a double “Hell No” for Mrs. Clinton and a triple “Hell No” Mr. Edwards.

Everyone has a right to choose their candidates for the presidency. I believe that Oprah made her choice based on her beliefs and it is not our place to call her a “sell out” and judge her based on that. I’m not a racist (And I think Oprah isn’t either)therefore him being Arab is of no relevance. I’m sorry thats an issue for you. That only proves some individuals still have a long way to go.
Thanks “I have an I idea” you took the words right out my mouth
I think that Obamba’s Arrogance will cost him the White House, he had a clear path and he decided to throw it down the drain by running this year, he is clearly not ready to be President, to me a vote for Obama is a vote for four more years of republican politics, they will eat him alive.
Obama is the man that will bring positive change to America. His ideas are fresh and he is a true honest candidate. I fear for other presidential hopefuls to enter the White House but Obama should rightfully be President. Hilary is not a strong woman, she is still married to a man that cheated on her when the proof that he did was held up and brandished to many. Im voting for Obama in 2008.
i dont think he would make a good pres.,Hillary is clearly the best choice period.I wouldnt vote for Obama just because he’s Black and if that is why WE should vote for him, please. As far as Oprah helping, people get it together. If she aint white ,i dont know what is.My vote is for the best choice, not skin color. They dont want Hillary in there so they try to divide our vote.My people please dont vote for color,Any republican against Obama would win, think about it
Melvin you’re probably a convicted felon so you can’t vote anyway so STFU.

Dear Oprah and Obama,
Please remember the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and believe that MLK, through the miracle of film, will educate the world before this coming holiday celebration in 2008 on how to make peace in our world, and our future possible like never before - I hope and pray that the world and all HUMAN beings will be influenced to start a movement to achieve global peace in the international community in our lifetime for generations to come. Make MLK proud in his spirit and his spirit will bring all of us together to end ALL kinds of discrimination. He understood that peace is possible. When you look at the old black and white footage from that time in history, before there was the rainbow of color we see now on the Oprah show and media when following Obama… I believe you will be so moved, the world will understand peace is a belief we can make a reality. Look it up on the Internet. You will see one of the greatest events in world history that will give us an example of how to move forward, starting today. Please help the world move forward. Though MLK was not running for president at the time… together THE PRESIDENT at the time in our history signed the paper… and gave MLK the pen - making the dream a reality.
God is amazing! Though I plan to vote for Hillary I than you for also making history. May god be with all of us in the world as we make this powerful decision for… POSITIVE change!
Sincerely,
4WOMAN
