A Long Night Ahead

CHICAGO (Posted Jan. 5, 2008) – Georgia was the first state to report a win for Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.). But within minutes I received an email from the Clinton campaign downplaying the loss and explaining why Obama won.

This could make for a really long night.  If  “talking point” from the campaigns are going to dominate. No one is expecting all of the results will come swiftly tonight – we already know California’s won’t because of thousands of absentee and paper ballots they’ll need to count.

Earlier tonight, David Plouffe, campaign manger for Obama, told reporters “success” would be the Illinois senator walking away with a “shared” number of delegates.  In other words no shut outs.

Plouff said, some of the “super states” Clinton had double digit leads just a couple of weeks ago. “Things have changed a little bit – we think, if its changed that will be good for us,“ he said.   “If it [delegate count] can be relatively close that will be good for the campaign,” Phroff said.

The “talking points” from the Clinton camp said, “Sen. Obama has had staff and significant campaign operation across the state for eight months. Sen. Clinton only deployed staff to the state in the last couple of weeks.”

One thing is for sure, it’s going to be a long night.

At this hour Obama is the projected to win: Georgia, Illinois

Clinton is projected to win: Oklahoma, New Jersey, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee

8:54 EST

Clinton projected to win her home state of New York.

9:30 PM EST

Obama projected to win: Delaware and Alabama

Clinton projected to win: Massachusetts

10:31 EST

Obama projected to win :  Kansas, Connecticut and Minnesota

Obama did well tonight. Far from over. What hurt him most was the lack of Hispanic vote. Whatever reason the Latino vote is not giving this brother a shot. They are thinking the Clinton name as saviors. Also it maybe because a lot of Mexican American voters have never really given their darker brown brothers a chance in the booth. I lived in Texas and California. That seems to be the case. Because there is a misconception among Latino voters that Hillary CLinton will be the same as Bill, I think there is not a clear vision into this presumption. Now as we know, Hillary did not do well in the South, and Romney although lost, gained considerable ground with the Conservative base that McCain will need if he goes on to win the GOP Nomination. That means the SOuth once again decides folks. Texas is in a few weeks and Louisiana this Saturday. Hillary has shown tonight she cant carry the South. FOr the Dems to have a chance, Obama must win the Democratic Nomination. He can win a considerable portion of the SOuth because of the High African American population that has surged to support him. And as for CLinton supporters who believe that it will be the same business as usual. Southern black folks jumping on the bandwagon…I think Everyone will be surprised. What you seen in the SOuth is vote against Clinton as it is a vote for Barack. Like it or not. Southern blacks are very offended by the Hillary and Bill remarks, as many African Americans, yet thinking they (Clinton campaign) can go into the churches and civil right leaders to turn the switch, I feel this time they will be greatly mistaken. Particularly if McCain wins the GOP, look for the black vote to split down the middle. Yes you heard it hear first. Hillary will not win in the South, thus not the Presidency

Come on people and lets put the right person in the office. Stop playing around and thinking that someone else is going to do it for you. Yes, Yes, yes every vote does count. I am not knocking Hilary Clinton but it seems mighty funny that yet again she has to cry on national tv to get votes. Sympathy is not what we need in the oval office. We need someone that is going to get the job done correctly. Vote Vote Vote.

I HOPE IN THIS SO CALLED BLACK HISTORY MONTH; BOTH ARE STANDING ON MANY BLACK SHOULDERS, BUT COULD NOT SUPPORT 1ST BLACK TO RUN THIS KIND OF CAMPAIGN [LIKE THEY WERE ONCE].

I believe that Obama will not become the first African American President of the United States of America. All of the white liberal supporters that he has received thus far will go Republican in November. Thus giving the country another four years of hell living in republican country. Don’t be fooled for one minute that America is ready for this movement. Most of the white supporters he has received are hoping that we do just that and jump on the band wagon of I’m supporting him because he is “BLACK” and it is our duty to do so. Which will push Hillary out of the race which is so tight right now and come November it will be a landslide for McCain. Just something to think about. I like Obama for his issues he stands for but at the same time what has he done on the federal seat he is currently holding, oh thats right he cant focus there because he’s been running for the presidency just after getting his feet wet on the Senate floor. If we democrats are not careful we will see another 4 years of hell. The turn out that has come out in the primary will not be the same turn out in November thus gives us a Republican President. Last comment - if you think Bill will not weigh in if Hillary wins the presidency your crazy. It was a working team before and will be a working team again if elected.

Yes I agree, we don’t need deceptive emotionalism to try to gain votes, especially from the female gender. Playing the political game is something else, but if you aren’t wise and aware of tactics of old you will be deceived. I’m all for emotions because every human being has them, but not for a deceptive tactic. I hope Barack goes all the way. My prayers to heaven on Super Tuesday are certainly with him. Change truly is what this country truly needs in bringing mankind together and stop all the in-and out-fighting all over the world. It can’t be any worst than what we’ve had over the centuries.

Tari said on February 6th, 2008

It is ignorant to vote for someone just because they are black! Obama isn’t a bad person just too inexperienced to lead right now. SO come on stop playing the race card!

I truly believe that it is time for a change. We can not sit around and wait for change to come to us, we have to go MAKE a change and that means voting for Obama. No disrespect to Clinton but when she made that comment that she couldn’t see herself running on the same ticket as Obama, she clearly thought it was gonna be a piece of cake and felt like he was no real threat to her. But we must prove her and this country wrong. Black people are not minorities anymore they just treat us like we are, and it’s time we stopped acting like we are. I truly believe having a Strong, Positive, Black Man for president is what black youths across america need. We NEED someone to lead our country who actually cares. We NEED A president who will strive to make it better for everyone not just a certain group of people. We NEED BARACK OBAMA. SO PLEASE GET OUT AND VOTE. LET PEOPLE KNOW THAT EVEN THOUGH THEY TOOK OUR GREAT LEADER DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. THEY DIDN’T TAKE OUR UNITY OR OUR VOICES.
VOTE!!!!VOTE!!!!VOTE!!!!VOTE!!!!VOTE!!!!VOTE!!!!

David said on February 6th, 2008

Hillary does not utter the words of unity from the start, only has she adopted this since she heard it from Barack. Obama, has stated Unity from the beginning, he has let it be known that he did not favor this war.

I don’t know about the Hillary supporters but I like a person who can tell me the truth from the beginning. When you build upon the truth only good things can come forth. If my gut would have voted to approve a war costing the tax payers millions, diverting money in rebuilding the infrastructure of the country, undermining the issue of pvoerty & homelessness. Off of the gut vote of Hillary’s we are now in a recession, jobs are being lost, homes are foreclosing. That war vote & the people supporting it did that.

HILLARY AND BILL ARE A GOOD TEAM AND I PRAY THAT THE LORD WILL BRING THEM TO VICTORY. YOU ARE FALLING FOR EXACTLY WHAT THE REPUBLICANS WANT YOU TO FALL FOR. HILLARY’S STATEMENT IS BEING TAKEN WAY OUT OF CONTEXT. I WOULD NOT WANT MY RIGHT HAND MAN TO BE SOMEONE WHO HAS DONE NOTHNG BUT TRASHED ME AND MY HUSBAND. I WISH IT WOULD HAVE STARTED OUT A CLINTON-OBAMA TICKET WHICH WOUD HAVE BEEN THE BEST THING FOR THIS COUNTRY. WHAT DO WE DO SAME AS USUAL AND LET FOLKS DIVIDE US SO WE GET NOTHING. I FEEL BOTH WOULD BE GOOD FOR THE COUNTRY BUT OBAMA SHOULD HAVE WAITED THIS ONE OUT RAN WITH CLINTON FOR VICE AND THEN TO THE PRESIDENCY IN 8 YEARS. HE IS YOUNG AND COULD HAVE DONE JUST AS GOOD IN THE VICE SHOW US WHAT HE WORKING WITH AND THEN GO FOR THE BIG GUN. Mr.Obama, did well, and I admire the way he has conducted himself throughout his campaign. It is apparent that America will be in good hands, if he becomes the Macro-Policy establisher/maintainer, a long with the Congress of the U.S!(Mr.Cain)

The true agents of change will be the American People, especially Black Americans!

It will not matter if Obama wins or Ms.Clinton wins the democratic nomination or the general Presidential election if American, especially Black Americans do not change their approach to their American existence and start acting like their “Brothas and Sistas Keeper”!

If you want to live up to the promise that Martin Luther King Jr. made on behalf of all of the Oppressed people not only in America, but all over the world, you should seriously consider joining the Freemoney Family Organization!

Have a Blessed/Freemoney Day!!

I agree that this is not a black or white thing, it’s a unity & economic thing. Although Obama hasn’t been long in the federal political arena, he does have more experience than people give him credit for. I don’t knock Hillary either, however I do believe that she helped create the situation that we are currently in. Although I voted for Obama in the primary, if Hillary does win the democratic nomination, I believe that we all should rally behind her to win the presidency. Let’s not give the republicans another four years to give us hell.

It is a well known fact that White republicans will not vote for Black republicans as we know form the elections for gov.of both Ohio and Maryland last year;so who is really playing the race card ?

David said on February 6th, 2008

My gut vote is Obama, he is rooted in Americana. Helping to address homelessness in Chicago, his actions are directed by a vision of sentiment & compassion. This what we need this time, a reversal of breaucratic red tape which ignores the wounded war veteran who is mistreated even now by decisions made by current candidates on a war that should have never been.

Guiding “We the People” into the darkess days since the Great Depression. To put these people back into power is foolish, President Barack Obama represents all the people who voted for the new congress to change course. But, instead get swindle again by a deceitful leader in Bush. When I vote my gut goes with truth not a similar quote that Bush currently touts. This is not a position to gain favor from big business. It is a position to change the world.

President Obama embodies progress, change, security, health care, properity with those who are less fortunate. His decisions made in Congress can not be brought up because they have an effect that is positive long after it has been made. This is the leader I want to get my vote and I hope yours as well. His campaign is about that “WE” element I mentioned early. It is so important and I do not have to make this an emotional moment to get your vote. YES WE CAN, be the Democratic Nominee. YES WE CAN, be the President of the United States of American. YES WE CAN, bring a halt on the destruction of the financial infrastructure of the country. YES WE CAN, bring home that loved one before another roadside bomb goes off. YES WE CAN, institute a better health care system. YES WE CAN, this list goes on and on…YES WE CAN, ‘Obama 08′

Caroline said on February 6th, 2008

I believe Obama does not have the foreign policy experience to lead this country. Now is not the time to put someone in the office to “learn”. Foreign relations are too treacherous right now. For me, it’s not black or white, woman or man, it’s about the overall well being of our country. Hillary’s health care plan would benefit me, while Obama’s would not. She has my vote.

Karen said on February 6th, 2008

We all know that any president elected is not going to be able to follow through with his promises. They really don’t know what they are dealing with until they get in office. I think it is wrong to elect a man because he is black but I also think it is wrong to elect a women because she is a women. Come on people vote because of the issues we are facing in America today. And lets stop being ignorant. Yes I would love to have our first black man in office and a women in office. This will definately be a history maker but let it be for the right reasons, which is the issues at hand. Think about it seriously!!

Treetop said on February 6th, 2008

Yes, I agree the race card is being used once again. I don’t understand how it is suggested that Obama can’t draw a large amount of supporters in November. Negative comments like this keeps African American divided. It amazes me on how quick we can say what the black man can’t do and should do later. We can also assume that many democratic will not vote in November if Hillary wins.
Also, Obama has drawn support from many Republican, Liberal and young voters that might not support her in November. This will give McCain an advantage. I am so tried of hearing this experience thing. How many inexperienced white students are more likely to be hired straight out of college rather than the black college students? I can give you many more examples but I’m sure you can come up with your own. Lack of experience has never been a hindrance for whites in our society.
I’m sure Obama have the necessary experience to be President of the United States or he would not be running. The fact that he is doing this well in his campaign strategy tells a lot about his ability to achieve success considering he is less experience than Hillary. (The inexperience black man sure did get to experience Hillary and Bill Clinton. Did you notice the black athletic syndrome come out? I’m sure you all are capable of reading between the lines) I disagree with the comment that he should have waited to run for President. Why are blacks always told to wait? As he said in his speech the time is now. This isn’t about him being a black man and it’s not about gender. It’s about all people of the United States coming together to ensure equal educational, employment, and housing opportunities for all. Therefore, an inexperience black man is capable of achieving success without waiting for the white man or brainwashed blacks telling him he can’t. THE TIME IS NOW. RIGHT NOW!

“You have to be careful, very careful, introducing the truth to the Black man who has never previously heard the truth about himself, his own kind, and the white man. . . The Black brother is so brainwashed that he may even be repelled when he first hears the truth.” Malcolm X, The Autobiography of Malcolm X, 1965

Hello,

I don’t think that we need to play the race card. Hillary Clinton is very experienced and she is what we need to turn this economy around. Obama is not experienced to come into office and give us what we need as a people. He is hoping and wishing but does no sound very sincere on what he plans to do for this country. Do the right thing VOTE HILLARY CLINTON!!!!!!!!

David said on February 6th, 2008

People think Obama is not tough enough for a general election. They are wrong and here is why. Last Monday, Obama made a conscious decision to inject Bill Clinton into the center of the campaign, knowing the press AND Bill would take the bait. The debate became largely about Bill and Hillary, in that order. Then the entire week’s news was about Bill being out of control. Obama planted that seed himself and it paid off hugely in South Carolina. And now Bill has been effectively cut out of the narrative. Obama basically said to Hillary “You can’t control him, so I will.” And that is exactly what he did. He and his people know exactly what they are doing.

Again, Hillary’s decision making is still flawed. Campaigning is like playing chest you make the best move to get in position to check mate. So, let see bad moves for Hillary “War Vote”, “Getting Bill Involved”. See a trend, God forbid she gets elected.

Caroline said on February 6th, 2008

All candidates want change. I want change. Who’s going to give me that change? Hillary Clinton will. I don’t care that she’s a woman. If I had all the proposals & issues by all candidates in front of me, without me seeing what any of them look like, her proposals match the help my family and my community needs!

You are stupid to vote for Obama simply because he is black and it’s a given some of you will. You need to look at what the candidates will give us immediately and in the long term. I like Obama but his plans will exclude my family from needed health care! I ain’t having that.

Nkosaithi Logan said on February 6th, 2008

I’ll explain to the “People/Minorities/Democrats” in simple terms why nether Democratic Candidate will win in 09.
All Democrats/Peoples/Minorities votes will be split between the 2 Democratic Candidates =(.50 +.50=1.00) Therefore the Republicans can and will win again. Unless one of the Democrats concedes/steps down & endorse the other.

I guess it’s the thought that counts. As the Rev. Jesse Jackson says, “Keep Hope Alive”!
While it still has a pulse.

Julieta said on February 6th, 2008

It’s not about choosing Obama cuz he’s black… He wishes to have a better place so it’s not about not having experience, but cuz of what they want to do.

I think Obama would do good for the people, and I don’t really think Bill’s wealth would help the nation… that money is apart from the nation so they won’t use it for politics.

Obama would be a great change in history, we have to give him a chance because he just wants benefits for people cuz his life has been hard and I don’t really think he would like his nation’s life to be hard too.

On the other side, Hillary has had an easy life and she doesn’t really know what the nation needs just like Obama does…

Be open minded, that’s all I’ll say.

Ernestine said on February 6th, 2008

Hilary has the experience, Obama does not. This does not mean he is not able to lead the country.
There is a special anointing on his life, you must be in the spirit to pick up on it. However, if you are not in the spirit, it does not erase this special anointing. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had the same anointing. In the end, God will have his way, man believes he runs the country. Read the book of Judges, God controls who lead.
God raised up wicked kings to correct his people when they turned out of the way. When his people called on him and turned from their wicked ways, God sent them righteous kings. It all depends on if God is through correcting his people. There have always been periods of prosperity and periods of famine. You better believe that God will put the man or woman in place and there is nothing we can do about it. You better believe it.

David said on February 6th, 2008

Again, please explain experience. When was Hillary President of the United States ? Just because her husband was President does not equate to her having experience. If experience were a factor then why are we in the quagmire that we are in today? As far as turning the economy around I can not recall Hillary setting national economic policies in place. These elections are primaries, therefore there will be no 50/50 split in the general election. As for myself I will vote for Obama in the primary and whoever the Democratic nominee is gets my vote in the general election.By the way not voting for Obama or Hillary is not HATING on one over the other,it’s a
matter of choice.

Vote Barack Obama! He may not have as much “experience” as Hillary, but he is more qualified to run this country than she is. He has excellent ideas and plans for this country. It’s not just about the fact that he is a man of color. Why is it that, whenever a minority gets support, people assume it’s ONLY because he or she is a minority? That’s not the case!

And if you haven’t checked out Hillary, please do so! Google search the fact that, in her college years at Wellesley, she was the PRESIDENT of the YOUNG REPUBLICANS. Or the fact that she made it WIDELY KNOWN that she supported Goldman (who was a KNOWN segregationist) over Lyndon B. Johnson!

Know who you’re voting for!

It just makes sense that it would take someone like Obama to turn this country in the right direction. Not only that, but his multi-ethnic background ensures that he is TRULY for the advancement of ALL people.

Michael said on February 6th, 2008

First of all, everyone keeps saying how much experience Hillary Clinton has. However when it came down for her to prove what experience she has Bill Clinton sealed the records. Now I do know that she has chaired organizations but she has never worked in the grass roots like hitting the streets. I do know she was the governors and presidents first lady. But doesn’t the governor and the presidents staff and advisers make the decisions or come up with policies? Where does the first lady fit in there? As far as public service Obama has actually been a public servant longer than Hilary. She got her chairs in the senate from having the support of Sen Kennedy that now supports Obama and Sen Kennedy has done more legislation then anyone in the senate. Obama has gained support from republicans, independents, democrats, black and whites. Don’t you think it takes some with experience, knowledge and wisdom to be able to do what he has done? The bigger question is if Hilary is so experienced why hasn’t she been able to do it with her newly found unity message that Obama has always had?

Hilary support comes directly from big business and the lobbies. Well haven’t we figured out by now that is our major problem? If she is getting all her money from them do you honestly believe she is going to abandon them if she becomes president? she has been on their corporate boards for years. with her track record of being apart of the establishment do you really believe she all of a sudden has had a change of heart and care about the middle class or the poor? Do you believe that all of these big companies with their lobbies is just giving her money because she is going to help the middle class and the poor that will take money out of their pocket? Haven’t we heard this before?

Obama hasn’t taken any money from them so what position is he in compared to Hilary. It’s amazing what he has accomplished and if you think about it for what Obama has accomplished so far proves he does have what it takes without being a part of the good ole boys club!

jfffnn said on February 6th, 2008

How can Obama get more experience as Vice President when The only official duty of the Vice President is to preside over the Senate? A example of getting experience,or lack there of is with Harry Truman not knowing that the United States had a hydrogen bomb until he became President,he was completly in the dark about many issues until he became President, that is when a person gets the real experience.

Many speak of Hillary’s expirence and I ask what is it. I live in Arkansas and can tell you first-hand that I do not know what expirence she speaks of. She sat on the board at Walmart for several years. Worked 1 year in a non-profit capacity. She worked at a pretigious law firm in Little Rock. She was first lady and has served in the Senate a few years longer than Obama. In the Senate, her record is nothing remarkable. Traveling overseas with the president and hosting parties does not qualify one to be able to make decisions with worldwide consequences. I just say that everything needs to be kept in its proper perspective. Research her “expirence” for yourself as opposed to just repeating what has been propogated by th misinformed. You will find that Hillary and Obama are pretty even on expirence.

One of our greatest leaders prayed for the day when we would be judged by the “content of our character” and not by the “color of our skin”… But unfortunately, we are judged by the color of our skin….Race plays a large role not just in this election, but in almost every facet of society. I am recognized in America & everywhere else in the world as a “Black Woman”; 1st, being black, & 2nd being a woman, so my race is identified before gender. Me myself being an African American woman, voted yesterday for Obama because I beleive in the ideals he stands for, race aside. We are educated people, and any educated person SHOULD be able to come to a deciscion as to who the best qualified candidate is without race being a factor. “It is with strong conviction; that the intellectual, of no matter what race, is above un reasoning prejudice”…W.E.B DuBois.

Why are some people so offended or surprised that some black people voted for Obama simply because he was Black. Uh…hello??? Whites do it all the time. Look at the (still segregated)South. White Republican politicians being voted into office simply because of the color of their skin.. So if we were to vote a candidate into office because of the color of his skin, and he just happens to be black…SO BE IT!!! I know two wrongs never make a right….but it makes it EVEN and that’s all I’ve ever asked for was an EVEN Playing field…Just something to think about!!

I hope we all go out and vote. We need to elect someone who is right for the job. I do not feel that we should vote for Obama because he is “black.” I do not feel he is experienced enough to run this country. I feel Hillary is far more experienced. The truth of the matter is no one should be voting based on race. Obama does not have my vote. Maybe if he came back in 4 to 8 years with some experience I might vote for him. I don’t know him and just because we share an ancestory, does not mean he is qualified to run this counrty. If you plan to cast your vote based on race, please STAY HOME when it’s time to cast your vote!

Are guys kidding me? Obama is no 20 or 30 something year old. He’s older than Bill Clinton was when he ran for President. So please stop talking about experience until you’ve looked into Obama’s background. Learn from our recent history. White republicans put Bush in office not because they like his policies but out of a misguided loyalty. This time around all of us must do our research before we make a choice to back any candidate. It could cost us so much of what we love. The Clintons are run by lobbyists even more so than either of the republican frontrunners. WHat does that say to you???!!! Who ever is paying your bills will want something in exchange. What will the corporations expect in return for financially supporting the Clinton campaign? If you ask Hillary what will her answer be? Can she even afford to tell you the truth? Barack Obama can TRUTHFULLY tell you that he doesnt except money from lobbyists! I ask you this…How major is that at this point in the election? Well try and find the last person to do well in a primary without lobbyist money. Let me know what you can come up with.

I have even heard people saying how proud Dr. King would be to see a black person run. what about Jesse, Al and Shirley remember her motto “Unbought Unboss”.

Such ignorance. Of course Hillary and Barack could rock the same ticket. If they combined forces they would gain so much more than they’d lose. Intelligent Americans know that a Barack/Hillary ticket will further advance us with respect to domestic and foreign endeavors. Especially foreign endeavors. If Colin Powell had had the heart to run again McCain wouldn’t stand a chance on the republican ticket. We want the country to do better. And we are more conscious now than we’ve been since the 60’s. We must encourage our candidates!!! That they may influence one another in positive ways. Hillary could lend her experience and Obama could give his brilliant creativity…his perspective and heart.

I hope Obama gets the nod. People, don’t forget, if hilary gets into the whitehouse, bill will always be behind the scenes running matters. They both strike me as feeling entitled. They underestimated this “young and so called inexperienced senator. Further, hilary talks about her 35 years but it is 35 years of her husband’s experience that she is talking about. Besides, Obama promotes running Washington, with new, fresh, innovative ideas. And he is very skillful and highly intelligent and can get the job done, especially with the way he has united so many so far.

Let it be known. Obama is not Playing to be Hillary’s Vice. He is Playing to Win. Not to keep from Losing or a Moral Victory. In it to Win..Period. Now lets look at what will be the deciding factor…Texas. I think we need to be very specific in the next few days and weeks. THE LATINO VOTE and Solidfy His Issues with his Base. Now, it has not been the Latino vote persay that has not voted for Barack it is the so-called HISPANIC, specifically the MEXICAN AMERICAN VOTE. Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and South Americans (i.e. Afrolatinos) have split down the middle or even supported Obama. Now the Mexican American community, that is an entirely a whole different thing, and that is where the target will be. Obama will be in Texas, as I and other supporters in these next weeks to solidify the Base. Yet also sway a percentage of the Hispanic vote in Large cities like Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Houston. That will be Obama best shot. The Panhandle, Valley, and West Texas maybe a hard but not impossible sale. Now Houston will be Key, according to demographic figures it is one the most diverse cities in the US. Around 20 different Nationalities. Now the City itself is according to some new statics is the 3rd Largest city in the US. around or over 6 million people in the Houston metro area . 1/3 city African American, 1/3 White, 1/3 Hispanic, with the trump card..yes a strong Asian voting block. Dallas although not quite the same make up will also be, with it being the 6th largest city in the US. Now the 18th Congressional District headed by Senior Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, who has supported Clinton, also contains the famous Houston 3rd Wards. It is both black and hispanic. Now the racial tentions in Houston and Dallas have been far less as it has been in lets say in L.A. or the West Coast. I believe Obama if pushes the immigration agenda, specifically on Drivers License, he can probably pull around 30% of Mexican American vote in the major 2 cities in Texas. And remember Houston has a strong Dominican, Cuban, and Colombian population as well that tends to vote more toward African American initiatives. So overall he can possibly get 35% of the Latino vote there. I he will pull about 80% African American vote. Moreover, he will get the Southern White Male vote who will not vote for a Yankee (Northerner) woman, particularly a Clinton. Remember this is George Bush’s hometown. Haliburtons too. In addition though Obama has to go down to the Valley, South Texas, where they are little blacks and they tend to vote strickly down convential Old Guard Democratic lines…that means Hillary. If dont believe me, go down there. Issues are not an Issues as Loyalty is. Also San Antonio, a mostly Mexican American town will be a challenge. Yet is also a very strong military town( large army and airforce bases there). He needs to stress Hillary’s position on the War. Many of those folks have love ones either deployed or will be deployed. The key to victory is Houston, Dallas, and yes Austin…Austin contrary to belief is a very liberal city. Whoever takes Texas maybe in line to take the nomimnation. Yet those folks in the DC area (VA,Maryland etc) you gotta show up this Tuesday. Louisiana , which Barack I believe is in tomorrow I think will go His way. Go to his website, give money and/or your time. It is Critical. And PLEASE VOTE Good Luck all!!

Allen Keys was black to and he didnt come close to being chosen for a seat. None of the blacks running for President have either. Barack Obama has come so far because we believe in his ability. Not because he’s black. He just happens to be black. But to be honest it is the complete makeup of who he is that makes him the best. That means who his mother and father were, his demeanor and his message. Make no mistake about it. This is what happens when a man is disciplined enough to have prepared himself when opportunity came knocking.

I agree with many, and then there are those with whom I do not. Obama is a very good person to run just like Hillary is. I was going to vote for Hillary until I saw the debate. It did not take a rocket scientist to see what was going on. I am 55 and have lived through the Bush/Clinton era. Yes we did do well when Bill was in office. However, that was 7 years ago. With technology as it is, it took Bush just 7 months to go into office and *??$# up the world! We were told at one time you had to be an A student, have no blimishes on your record and everything else to run for President. Bush lowered those standards as well. Bush left Texas and went to DC, so tell me, what exactly is it you think Obama needs? Besides, you all could not for one minute think that these people make all these decisions by themselves? Now, who’s stupid? Every single person that’s been there had a cabinet, and he will have one as well. Hillary’s plans are not that different from his. If you have been listening/looking at the news, you would know they are 95% the very same. Hillary demonstrated OLD politics in that debate, and too many people saw it; or shall I say seasoned people saw it. That is way she didn’t get the Kennedy support, because of what was exposed within them. I’m not for black, white, male or female; I’m for who I believe represents me. Some of you’ll are falling for the same old Jim Crow schems. They once said a black man could never quarterback, play golf, be head coach for a pro football/basketball team, play pro baseball, basketball, go to the moon, etc. Now, you want me to believe he can’t be President. God forbid, I’ve lived long enough to SEE for myself and think for myself. I changed my mind because he’s brilliant, carries himself very well, diverse, eloquent, lawyer, has values, nice family, and can respond to politics at any level when thrown at him! I’m in Texas and I haven’t voted yet, but I can assure you we here will be voting for Obama and it’s not because of race. We want change. I saw Hillary as being a change as far as a woman, but the same old politics that we once had. Experience, Obama could not be worse than the Bushes. Everyone is so energized to change the nation, Obama would have so much support to get things done and so many people trying to be apart of that change. Really, they both would. He just should be first on the ticket. Hillary could get alot done as VP. The problem with that, I don’t believe she would take it, yet you want him to take it!

First, of all I do not buy into the defeated attitude that most folks are writing in their reply about the race card, or Barack Obama has chose the wrong time to run for president. America has always been a land of opportunity, for all folks, if you’re here count yourself blessed. It is truly a place where dreams can become a reality. This does not apply to some folks, but it applies to all race, creed, gender, age and class. This fact not only held true yesterday, but its alive and vibrant today. Im an African American woman, and I voted for Barack Obama for a numerous of reasons. He’s intelligent, has a strong interest in all the issues that needs to be addressed and changed. Barack Obama is open to real change for America and he bring strong leadership and great ideas to the table. He did not take any money from lobbyist to support his campaign, he voted against Bush war, and he’s strong. I’m not going to pretend that I don’t notice that he is a Black man, because I don’t believe we live in a colorblind society, as Bush Senior once stated. My reasons for voting for Barack Obama supersedes his race or color. He’s the right man for the job. Voting for Hilary Rodman Clinton base on the fact her husband was president for eigth years, is not good enough. Hilary Rodman Clinton has to stand on her own merits, not on Bill’s. She appears too weak, although, she like to come off as a strong candidate. She has flipped flopped on a numerous of important issues, like supporting Bush’s War, and accepting money from Lobbyists to support her campaign, while at the same time stating how she plans to go after the lobbyists. Talk about CONTRADICTIONS. I honestly believe Hilary Rodman Clinton thought she could win this race with a landslide. Barack Obama didn’t appear as a threat to her race for presidency. Boy,was she wrong. The American people spoke in volumes the first night in Iowa when Barack Obama took this state, and folks has been speaking out loud since, with their votes. The Clinton’s were the ones who pulled the race card out of their hats, particularly Bill Clinton on the night Barack Obama took South Carolina by landslide. It appeared to me that the Clinton’s agenda, at that particularly time, was to win by any means necessary. I thought it was insulting and distasteful to all Afican American people, particularly, since Toni Morrison named Bill Clinton as the so called first Black President. This racial attack on Barack Obama (a fellow demoncrat party memeber) did not show a strong Democrat front. Instead, it showed a house divided by race. Hilary Rodman Clinton went on to say that her husband outrageous attitude, actions, and remarks was base on a lack of rest. What a Joke. Hilary and Bill were both chastised verbally by other Demoncratic party members for such awful campaigning, and asked to put an end to it. Ex President Bill Clinton continued on with no regards to how it would effect his wife or the fact she asked him to stop. This showed me Hilary Rodman Clinton could not control her husband and my fear is, if Hilary becomes the president, will she run the country, or her husband. Hilary is just not strong enough. I love change becasue time brings about change, and we can obvious see a big change in the presidental race. fifty years ago,no one would have ever imagined a woman or a Black man running for president. Thank God For CHANGE. To live in this time, to see it, and be a part of it is truly a blessing. I believe whatever the mind concieves and believe it achieves. I know how to call those things that are not as though they were. Faith moves mountains. Someone once said, “FAITH IS A STATE OF MIND THAT OFTEN MAKES THE WORD IMPOSSIBLE OBSLETE!” For the African Americans or any one else who don’t believe the time is right for Barack Obama to run for president, you need to read “Our Deepest Fear” by Marianne Willamson
“OUR DEEPEST FEAR IS NOT THAT WE AR INADEQUATE. OUR DEEPEST FEAR IS THAT WE ARE POWERFUL BEYOND MEAUSRE. IT IS OUR LIGHT, NOT OUR DARKNESS THAT MOST FRIGTHEN US. WE ASK OURSELVES, WHO AM I TO BE BRILLENT, GORGEOUS, TALENTED, FABULOUS? ACTUALLY, WHO ARE YOU NOT TO BE? YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD, YOUR PLAYING SMALL DOES NOT SERVE THE WORLD. THERE IS NOTHING ENLIGHTENED ABOUT SHRINKING SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE WON’T FEEL INSECURE AROUND YOU. WE ARE ALL MEANT TO SHINE, AS CHILDREN DO. WE WERE BORN TO MAKE MANIFEST THE GLORY OF GOD THAT IS WITHIN US. IT’S NOT JUST IN SOME OF US; IT’S IN EVERYONE. AND AS WE LET OUR OWN LIGHT SHINE, WE UNCONSCIOULY GIVE OTHER PEOPLE PERMISSION TO DO THE SAME. AS WE ARE LIBERATED FROM OUR OWN FEAR, OUR PRESENCE AUTOMATICALLY LIBERATES OTHERS.” With that said ladies and gentlemen I like to welcome the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama.

And we all know that the last time we tried to put a black men in office what happened. They shot him down.Lets all think about what you are saying,it sound good to have a change of plans, but, lets think about the consequences we have to face.Martin Luther King that is, we all know the story on that. So,lets not think hard, lets think smart.VOTE Hilary Clinton because she has someone on her side that knows about politics, who has been there and done that.

Read this very carefully before deciding. Hillary Clinton was on television sets all across the nation in early 2003 pledging her support for Bush’s preemptive strike on Iraq. She came on television this year during the debate stating she didn’t read the documents that were laid in front of her, instead, she decided to listen to the pep-talk from the mouths of the GOP and let that lead her to her decision. What kind of leader is that? And people, Universal Healthcare is not FREE healthcare. It is a mandate, stating we are to purchase health insurance. What kind of leader is going to force me to purchase health coverage no matter what financial state I’m in? Now she’s taking a play from the Obama book, stating she’ll lower the out of pocket cost for patients. If the cost of individual healthcare is lowered so that my premiums will only cost me $75 a month, it does me no good if I have no income. And subsidies only go so far. I hate the HillaryCare idea. At least Barack wants to lower the overall cost of healthcare first, to make sure that if we want it (most of us do), we can afford it. And we won’t be penalized if we come upon hard times & have to lapse because we can’t afford the premiums. Barack asked her a good question; under HillaryCare, what’s going to happen to us if we are not insured? Are we going to be fined? Wage garnishment? Funny how she never answered that question.

It is so sad to see that many blacks still rely on whites to bring change in their lives. Why is it when blacks support each other we are doing it because of race? When whites support each other I never hear them accused of supporting each other because they are white. I hope you are aware that individuals from other ethnicities do support each other because of race. Unfortunately, blacks are the only race that doesn’t come together. It’s a shame that so many blacks still have a slave mentality. Remember how we ended up in America anyways.
It amazes me that many blacks feel like they owe the Clinton’s their vote because Bill Clinton did what he was expected to do. This is a new time and a new era. It is a time for change and that’s why Obama is the best candidate. Plus, Hillary Clinton is running for president, not Bill Clinton.
We cannot assume that Hillary is going to be the same type of President that her husband was. The same assumption occurred in Illinois when many supporters voted in a son after his father fell ill. The son is totally different from his father who served many years as politician Illinois. His son ideas are quite different from his father’s and he seems to be bull-headed.
Therefore, we can’t assume that Hillary is going to bring change for blacks based on her husband credibility in the black community. (And lately he has shown how he really feels when it comes down to getting what he wants) Also, we don’t have to cater to anyone who does what’s right for us. This reminds me of slaves that catered to their masters because they were given the crumbs from their table. Also, many blacks need to feel more confident in expressing support for one another. Hearing the division that still exists among blacks has encouraged me to support Obama even more. Hopefully, he can encourage younger blacks to become united. We must first start within our on race in order to bring change

If you cut & paste
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYATbsu2cP8
(please ignore the singing!!!) you will see that Hillary was adamant about supporting this war. That said, there can only be 2 reasons for her support.
Reason #1: She was NAIVE. This meeting was held LONG after Team Bush handed the papers to Congress & the Senate. And she STILL didn’t read the dossier? What kind of leader will she be? I’ll answer that with another question: Who’s in the White House now? We can’t have another regime running this country based on ignorance.
Reason #2: She was not (or is not) being honest with the country.
Either way, if she wins, we lose. Please check all the facts on both candidates before making up your mind; even check up on Obama! Weigh the pros & cons about him. But no matter what, DO YOUR RESEARCH! Then you’ll know who to vote for. Black people, I am seeing too many of us stuck on this Bill Clinton 1992-2000 thing. Bill was a good President. In fact, he ran the country well. But are you really voting for Hillary because of him? Because if so, you haven’t read her policies. VERY unlike his were when he was President. You’re right; Bill would not have sent us into a preemptive war with a country that had nothing to do with Sept 11. But watch the video. Hillary assisted in sending us. Billary are 2 polar opposites.
Another thing. Obama is honest. He honestly opposed the war from the start. He voted on helping the troops when they were on the front lines without enough supplies to fight constructively, & everyone saw Bush was not going to end this. He loves our troops & didn’t want to see them suffer worse than they already were.

I can’t believe some of what I’m seeing either, Eric; I don’t care what anyone says; that remark Hillary made about Lyndon B Johnson being the one who fought for the civil rights act & not so much the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King JR— that said it all. LBJ passed it, and took his time passing it may I add, but it was Martin who crusaded the streets of the south, marched past the same trees our ancestors hung from, got dogs sic’d on him, got beaten down, jailed, and murdered, all for this Civil Rights movement. And she gives credit to a man that simply passed the same bill Kennedy drew up & proposed to the Senate & the House, and died while waiting on signatures for this bill? What? That was a very ignorant, very classless remark coming from Senator Clinton! She is trying to denigrate MLK’s role; Bill would never do that. I told you, do NOT be fooled! She does not share the same values as her husband. If anyone wants to read it, just Google Lyndon’s, Hillary’s & Dr. King’s names together, and you will find it.

One of last 2 WWI vets in US dies
By MITCH STACY, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 22 minutes ago

TAMPA, Fla. - Harry Richard Landis, who enlisted in the Army in 1918 and was one of only two known surviving U.S. veterans of World War I, has died. He was 108.

Landis, who lived at a Sun City Center nursing home, died Monday, according to Donna Riley, his caregiver for the past five years. He had recently been in the hospital with a fever and low blood pressure, she said.

“He only took vitamins and eye drops, no other medication,” Riley said Wednesday. “He was 108 and a healthy man. That’s why all of this was sudden and unexpected. He was so full of life.”

The remaining U.S. veteran is Frank Buckles, 107, of Charles Town, W.Va., according the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. In addition, John Babcock of Spokane, Wash., 107, served in the Canadian army and is the last known Canadian veteran of the war.

Another World War I vet, Ohioan J. Russell Coffey, died in December at 109. The last known German World War I veteran, Erich Kaestner, died New Year’s Day at 107.

Landis trained as a U.S. Army recruit for 60 days at the end of the war and never went overseas. But the VA counts him among the 4.7 million men and woman who served during the Great War.

The last time all known U.S. veterans of a war died was Sept. 10, 1992, when Spanish-American War veteran Nathan E. Cook passed away at age 106.

In an interview with The Associated Press in April in his Sun City Center apartment, Landis recalled that his time in the Student Army Training Corps involved a lot of marching. VA records show his entry date into the service was Oct. 14, 1918.

“I don’t remember too much about it,” said Landis, who enlisted while in college in Fayette, Mo., at age 18. “We went to school in the afternoon and drilled in the morning.”

They often drilled in their street clothes.

“We got our uniforms a bit at a time. Got the whole uniform just before the war ended,” Landis said. “Fortunately, we got our great coats first. It was very cold out there.

He told reporters in earlier interviews that he spent a lot of time cleaning up a makeshift sick ward and caring for recruits sickened by an influenza pandemic.

When asked whether he had wanted to get into the fight, Landis said, “No.”

When the war ended on Nov. 11, 1918, Landis recalled a final march with his unit.

“We went down through the girls college, marching down the street. We got down to the courthouse square and there was a wall around this courthouse. We got to the wall and (the drill instructor) didn’t know what to do and we were hup, two, three, four, hup, two, three, four,” Landis said, laughing at the memory. “Finally, we jumped up on the wall and kept going until we got to the courthouse — hup, two, three, four — and he said dismissed.”

He said he and some fellow recruits piled into a car to go to the next town.

“What we did there, why we were there, I couldn’t tell you,” Landis said.

He signed up to fight the Germans again in 1941, but at age 42 was rejected as too old.

“I registered, but that’s all there was to it,” Landis said.

“I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Landis,” said LeRoy Collins Jr., executive director of the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs. “He was the last World War I-era veteran in Florida, and with his passing we say goodbye to a generation.”

Landis was born in 1899 in Marion County, Mo.

After the war, he was a manager at S.S. Kresge Co., which later became Kmart, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Dayton, Ohio. His fondest memory was taking golf vacations with three friends and their families, a tradition that ended more than five decades ago with the death of his best friend.

“We really looked forward to getting our old foursome together and going somewhere for a couple of weeks,” Landis said. “Sadly, my favorite best friend lived until he was only 60 years old. We were like brothers. We could talk about business, serious things and we could act like a couple of kids.”

Landis retired to Florida’s warmer climate in 1988 and lived in an assisted living center with his wife of 30 years, Eleanor.

His first wife, Eunice, died after 46 years of marriage. Landis had no children. He said he enjoyed a good game of golf until his health kept him off the course.

Landis laughed when asked the secret to his longevity.

“Just keep swinging,” he said.

Kelsida Bonfield said on February 7th, 2008

You know black americans have always begrudged Caribbean and other Immiigrants for excelling when they migrate to the USA, now we know why ,You do not think with your heads as a matter of fact you do not think at all. If you analyze all the speeches of Barak, they truly lack substance, they are void of true hope and change, just listen carefully, as to change, look at all the dead beats supporting him John Keyy, Ted Kenneday et al where is the change, just analyze the debates he never gives a clear position or a distinct answer he beats around the bush constantly. I will agree with some that it is not just about experience but, it should also be about capacity and capability and that is what Mrs. Hilary Clinton has she has all the requisite to be the President of the USA.. Barak is being backed by money people who wants their own puppet in the white house namely Oprah et al.. All of you Hilary haters think hard and careful. is the Unites States of America mature enough to elect a black man..I think not…America is more attuned to elect someone of Hilary Clinton as she embodies all that the USA needs both local and Internationl and thats the fact. Yes give Barak his due when he speaks, he can be inspirational, but what are is his policy position, what are his views on the Caribbean, Africa, Latin & South America, the Middle East, Europe and Asia we do not know..Another food for thought why do you think white Americans Independent and Republican are supporting Barak..its a strategy of divide and conquor..the strategy is to gve Barak all the funds he needs, register as Democrats to ensure that he wins the nomination and when Novemeber comes they definitely will vote for the Republicans and that is a fact…So for all of you men who do not want a woman to lead and for those who are blinded by race and colour you need to think globally, think of capacity capabilty and of course experience, importantly elect a person who is not afraid to admit they made a mistake. For a genuine change VOTE FOR HILARY RODHAM CLINTON, SHE IS THE REAL CHANGE HILARY THE REAL CHANGE.

Kelsida, as a African American of Spanish Creole decent from Louisiana, you know the difference between AfroLatinos, AfroCaribs, African Americans, etc? Nothing..but the perception that we have allowed to be placed on us. Is strange that majority of those from the African Disapora do not realize we are all connected. America has embraced our people from all over the Western Hemisphere, yet what he have done is to let our Insecurity and Slave Mentalities define us limited. Only 11% of all slaves ever came to US. Yet we are a melting pot her looking to inspire Change. Do your Research. The greatest orators of the African American movement, Marcus Garvey, Louis Farakan, Colin Powell, and even Kwame Toure (Stokely Carmichael were not even from US African American decent. YET THEY BELIEVED IN THE PROMISE FOR CHANGE in the US. You mention Mr. Obama’s position, what is Hillary position. Mr. Obama served as a legislator in Illnois Statehouse and in the US Senate. Before then as an Attorney. Ms. Clinton is in her 1st TOUR as an Elected Official. Obama actually has more poitical experience. SO WHOSE INEXPERIENCED? Yet the false inuendos are perceived as facts. The division is not from Obama yet those who actually choose to divide and conquer with misinformation and attacks. Again, What is Ms. Clinton message? In 2006,Obama Introduced Stop Fraud Act in 2006 to Combat Mortgage Fraud and Abuse. What was Ms. Clinton position on that? Obama wants to come up with a comprehensive plan to reform Social Security. What is Ms. Clinton plan? More Tax increases. Mr. Obama speaks in his Blueprint for Change a resourceful way for Universal Healthcare, what is Ms CLinton’s position. Raise taxes, even if it meant in her own words printed in quote, to garnish the wages of American citizens to get it. And Our American Boys, no Men and Women who are dying to protect and keep the Free World, what is Ms. Clinton position Today on this War? Obama has always been steadfast in his. So its not Just about Race, its about winning This Race. THe only divsion that is being done is by those who can not see that a change is on the horizon.

i agree with u joe. the dems do no have a vision or purpose and they are certainly not the party of ideas. that’s y they lose elections. they rely on the reps to mess things up so bad that people have no choice but to go with them even though not much will get done to benefit the masses. obama actually has a vision and message and he is able to bring everyone on teh process. hillary wants to win. the dems need to not miss out on this opportunity to go with the status quo, but to actually be the party of change and have a message and not rely on the reps

Brenda said on February 7th, 2008

OBAMA IS GOING TO MESS ALL YOU ALL, THAT ARE VOTING FOR HIM JUST BECAUSE HE IS BLACK, UP. MRS. CLINTON HAS BENN THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR THE JOB. oBAMA HAS NO TYPE OF EXPERIENCE, AND ALL THE WHITE PEOPLE THAT HE HAS BEHIND HIM WILL LEAVE HIM SOONER OR LATER.

Brenda said on February 7th, 2008

hE IS GOING TO MESS YOU ALL UP. YOU SHOULD ALSO THINK ABOUT WHAT HIS RELIGIOUS BELIEFS ARE, BECAUSE IF YOU DONOT BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED AND ROSE AGAIN FOR YOUR SINS THEN YOU DONOT HAVE GOD ON YOUR SIDE.

Joe Domingaux said on February 7th, 2008

If you dont think this Election is Not about a Voice for Change, you need to look deeper. WE have the choice to go with what is common, or what is the status quo, or go for Change. One man said Dare to Be Great. If you listen to the message, you get a lesson. That is WHY I SUPPORT BARACK OBAMA. Now I am not a supporter of Mitt Romney yet he said something very profound today.

ROMNEY:” The attack on faith and religion is no less relentless. And tolerance for pornography, even celebration of it, and sexual promiscuity, combined with the twisted incentives of government welfare, have led to today’s grim realities: 68 percent of African- American kids born out of wedlock, 45 percent of Hispanic kids, 25 percent of white kids.

How much harder it is for these kids to succeed in school and in life. A nation built on the principles of the founding fathers cannot long stand when its children are raised without fathers in the home.”

Now do we want things to remain the same? or do we Dare to Be Great? It does not start with your ideas or even your vote. It starts with your Mindset. Obama 08

here is a mexican ameican that supports financially Barack Obama for president we caucause in minnesota already and minnesota went with Barack if Barack is cheated by the democrates establishment and nominates hillary clinton to run for president in the democrate ticket I will vote for republican john mccain I live in the inner city and from what I see the white democrates only need the non white vote to stay in power but we never get our fair share of the good paying jobs look around all the major cities have high unemployed and poverty levels of blacks and hispanics

Jorge Sanchez said on February 8th, 2008

Another Mexican American for Obama. I feel that here in Texas Obama would be the best guy to lead America. I think the Mexican American community mostly has voted like African Americans on tradition. They know the name Clinton not Obama. Yes old ways and some bias towards blacks does play a role too. But with mostly the older and lesser educated. However we are starting to see a change as we are getting out and educating. We as Latinos in Texas are working together to get the word that Obama is man for change.

Brenda how is Sen.Obama going too mess all of us up ? Yes, as a Blackman I’ll vote for Obama in the primaries and whoever is the Democratic nominee I’ll vote for in the general election.By the way, white republicans didn’t and vote for the Black republicans as was proven in the elections for Gov. of both Ohio and Maryland;so why shoudn’t Blacks vote for Blacks ? As far as experience, the only experience Hillary has is that her husband was President. As I stated before Hillary can only claim she has experience is via her husband which translate into a co-Presidency.

Ya know lol all you people are funny. You say vote for the right person Obama will change this world and make it better and blah blah blah. LoL lets me very very serious here. Yes Obama is smart, yes he is a excellent!!! speaker, but what exactly do you think are his plans of change? LoL im not sure if he even knows, but yet he keeps on saying change. If Obama is president (which wont happen) but if this world would be worse then it was with Bush, Obama has NO NONE ZIPPOO experience with anything. Go look back at what he says he is for and what he is against. LoL Obama i luv ya man you seem like a good man but you definitly need to wait like 8years and then we can see how u have grown but right now even though its a close race, lol you arent gona win but goodluck

Joe Domingaux said on February 8th, 2008

John, how much experience does Hillary CLinton have? Unless you voting for John McCain, a nominee who cant even unite his own party, there is no one that has more experience than Obama.

This is the Great Misconception That is Being Spread. HILLARY HAS only completed one term as a US Senator. She is just starting her second. She was married to a former President, thats IT. If thats the case then lets elect Barbara Bush. She has more experience because of Her Husband and Son than any other the candidates. Funny typical Liberal spin.

As for Obama, he is also in his first term as a US Senator, yet has served 2 TERMS as a STATE REPRSENTATIVE to the ILLNOIS STATE Legislator. In addition was the President of the Harvard Law Review,a civil rights lawyer , and yes a US Constitutional LAW Professor as well. Disinformation is a tactic that will never work with the well informed.
