Posted Feb. 21, 2008 – The two Democratic presidential candidates have made it through the first half of the debate tonight with polite banter and stately respect.  Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) appears confident and comfortable, and has offered a few light moments of humor.

The two candidates appear to be agreeing on most policy issues, so folks will have to decide who says it best.

The first “boos” of the night came for Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) when she once again accused Obama of plagiarism during a recent speech in Wisconsin.  Obama called this attack the “silly season in politics.”

It apperars that Hillary went off the deep end;First she says how “proud” she is to debate Sen.Obama, then less than 24hrs later she says Sen.Obama should be ashamed of himself because his campaign produced a pamphlet showing that Sen.Clinton voted for NAFTA which is damaging for a industrial state such as Ohio.
It is true that what she said is the beginning of the end for her. That is why in the Texas debate she was congenial and did not give McCain fodder too fight Sen. Obama. It is best for the Democrats for Hillary too give up her campign and support Barrack now that Ralph Nader is back in the race.

CURIOUS1, silly season! silly season! silly season! just downright silliness. by saying that, b.o. didn’t mean for you to act that way. i’ll tell exactly who i am. i am a former high school teacher, and a current graduate student in the state of indiana. i have NO official affiliation with any campaign, although i have contributed to clinton’s campaign. i am just someone who cares about this campaign, and doesn’t want to see our country continue to be misled by someone with little experience (e.g. george w.)

so, yeah! say hi to your family. catch you later.

LOOK,
ARICA, you look like a newcomer here. what my point has been all along is that many people, based on the things they post, are voting for b.o. because it’d be cool to see a black person in the white house. i agree. however, i question why vote for him other than that, and many times people can’t give me a valid explanation, other than to say why the WON’T vote for HILLARY. i’m just trying to get the logical part of people’s brains working.

also in previous posts, i’ve chastised people who will vote for HILLARY because she’s a woman. “we need a woman in the white house” is the same principle to me.

BIG ALBERT,
i agree, she should not throw these true things out there, because the b.o. machine has grown to such grotesque proportions now (anyone see SNL?) that they will defend him no matter the allegations. so, it’s only working against her. i agree.

My question for you is: Is Sen.Clinton losing her mind or is she growing desperate? In Texas she said it is a “honor” to be on stage debating Sen.Obama; Then almost two days later she is saying Sen.Obama should be ashamed of himself because it was revealed she supports NAFTA,which set unemployment at record highs in a industrial state such as Ohio.it is as if she has develpoed bi-polar disorder or has multiple personalities

Senator Clinton is in her desperate days with her last final breaths in attempt to do or say anything to sway the democratic nomination. The Clinton campaign has just released a picture of Barack Obama in African Garb. He was visiting the country in 06 and wore the clothing as due all visiting dignitaries of other countries. They released this picture to try to draw fear and hate in the hearts of the American people. I pray Americans will see through this evil racist and prejudiced woman and vote with the candidate that represents what America should be and that is “the great melting pot”

Hillary is the one who should be ashamed. She is pro PLO and then tries to use race issues agaisnt Obama just because of his name. He can’t help how her was born but throughout all the difficulties he has managed to overcome and push forward and a man with that lifetime experience is what we need to push us past our racial and religious divides to have a safer nation and reclaim our leadership role around the world.

As a woman I am deeply ashamed of all the things Hillary Clinton stands for. I hope one day we do get a woman president who doesn’t use everyone and everything in her path to get there.

Look at the history:
She was a feminist until the polls showed in the 80’s that people didn’t like her so she cut her hair put on some makeup and heals and changed her last name to Clintn.

She spoke out Pro Palestinian but when the people of Jewish faith spoke out against her she changed her mind again.

She said she didn’t stay home to bake cookies and make tea…but when women everywhere were disgusted she Baked Cookies for the leading womans magazine of the time.

She was pro war and pro the removal of Sadam Hussein and his WMD’s and after it became apparent this was fabricated now she is against the war in Iraq. Well it’s a little to late now!

She speaks out of both sides of her moth and this is a politican that will lead us further down a spiraling path of destruction!

I vote with my mind and my heart and both tell me Obama is the candidate to UNITE and before we can start changing policy we first have to be UNTIED again!

i don’t think respect for someone and anger at their tactics are mutually exclusive. she supported nafta, but not in any formal kind of way. she wasn’t a senator, so, she didn’t vote for it? now, if you want to BLAME her for nafta, then you MUST recognize her time spent as first lady in the white house and give her CREDIT for all the good things she and bill did for this country. if you don’t want to do that, then don’t bring nafta into it.

and actually, she is on the record as saying that she would review nafta and determine if it is effective.

christy341 Said on

Please list all the “good things” Hillary Clinton did in the Whitehouse? Besides being obsessed with her Healthcare Plan that failed, besides trying to be “co-president” of the USA and besides spending her time defending Bill Clintons Adulterous nature.

Kris
There is a political saying that says “all politics is local”,therefore all she has too do is look at what NAFTA did for large manufactoring states such as Ohio and Pennsylvannia. That is why she flew off the handle when the info on her and NAFTA was distributed.
She is desperate at this point in the campaign and Hillary supporting NAFTA for global economics is tantamount too shooting herself in the foot.ofcourse she can’t say she would bow out of the treaty at this point,it would look way too much like pandering

christy341 Said on

NAFTA is something she can’t dig herself out of. She can say she is against it but then that is counter prodctive since she is running mostly on her husbands ex-presidency ticket. She can say she wan’t reform but then she is reforming something that Her Co-Presidency was for. How can you be co-president and then deny and yell and pitch a fit when someone calls you on your co-policy. Go figure!

She looked like a screaming yelling out of control WACKO if you ask me…is this the face we want of our future president! I don’t think so!

lilbaby26 Said on

but kris, she can’t cherry pick all the things that happened in the white house while she was there without excepting the bad that came with it. she was even talking about all the good things about nafta in her book. she supported NAFTA. crack vs cocaine laws. the terrorism attack back in 93,95, and 98. she cannot make this argument about experience with mccain and expect to win especially since she wasn’t in congress that long to begin with.

kris Said on

your candidate is ahead and you STILL can’t give HILLARY credit for anything she’s done? so, she’s just wasted her entire life and not helped anyone and everything she’s done has been bad?

COME ON! it’s this kind of logic that divides the country. on many blogs i have given credit where credit is due to b.o.

FORGET her time in the white house. let’s pretend it never happened. now, she has 27 years of experience working for change in various capacities. NOW WHAT?

lilbaby26 Said on

no, i never said that everything she did was bad, i just said that she has to accept the bad that came in her husband’s administration if she is to ride her husband’s experience judging by the rhetoric that she gives. you and many other people are supporting her because she is more”experienced” than obama but her experience alone in the senate is only 6 years. oh and btw, her years as first lady in arkansas doesn’t count so that’s another 12 years shaved off. so that’s acutally 15 years of experience including elected versus obama’s 20 including elected experience. right now, mccain wins that argument on both fronts.

hillary’s many messages and my favorite one to “get real” is what’s really diving this country. how is it that not only is she demeaning another fellow candidate but also his supporters. because somehow, the rests of us just don’t ‘get it’ if we don’t vote for her. she was supposed to have this thing wrapped up by super tuesday remember? this sense of entitlement is really killing me and the fact that she feels like she shouldn’t have to work for our votes is another.

Hillary will be slinging snot very soon!
YES WE CAN! WE WANT CHANGE! GO BARACK ‘08!

kris Said on

LILBABY26, i understand. but what i’m saying, is that if she’s going to count her time in the white house, and accept the negative things that happened, then you HAVE to count the positive things that they did for this country. that makes sense, no?

popitgc Said on

First to Mary Byrant, you are the reason most white people want to cover their face in shame. You are the KKK so called christian, you know the kind that says evil things, hurts innocent people, hides under your white sheet, then BURNS the cross. It is obvious that we all don’t pray to the same God, however as a child of God I wiil pray for you and your kind. May God Bless Barock and all who believe in him. Hillary has a Hitler mentality that if you are not with me I will destroy you, Watch the movie colors and maybe you will have a better understanding of the Clintons and what they are capable of when their back is against the wall. We all know that Bill and Hillary made very profitable backroom deals and that is why she did’nt get what she said done.

kris Said on

hitler mentality? really? wow. that is desperate politics, and your candidate is ahead! wow.

i used to think the b.o. cult thing was a bunch of hot air. based on some of these responses, i’m beginning to think some of b.o.’s supporters are putting him in the annals with jesus, and buddha. another blogger already compared him to noah and moses.

right, bill and hill, did some positives too(SCHIP, i think), but the negatives, especially the ones that were underhanded and did little to benefit the masses, should balance that argument out
