Feds Stop Security Screening at Obama Event

Published by Pamela Gentry on Friday, February 22, 2008 at 7:09 pm.

Posted Feb. 22, 2008 – According to the Star-Telegraph Newspaper in Dallas, the federal agency responsible for protecting Sen. Barack Obama decided to allow thousands of people into a political rally without going through any security screening.  The reason for this lapse of good judgment: the lines were long and the process was taking too long.

Duh!

The folks who made this call were lucky the crowd was  “friendly.”  I hope this isn’t the kind of protection the Secret Service will offer up if Obama becomes the Commander-in-Chief.

The Dallas Police were worried and let the cat out of the bag.

As a prayerful group of People, we NEED to pool our resources (prayer) and send the sweet incense to God with the forethought of asking for forgiveness of our sins, and pray God’s will, protection, and favor upon Barack Obama and his family.

Pray that whites would be genuinely accepting of something that benefit us ALL as a Nation.

Pray, Pray, Pray, and PRAY some more!!!!!

wow…i cant believe the secret service was allowed to do something like that…they need to get it together and quickly because if Obama does become the Commander-In-Chief they cant let things like this happen…..

kelin Said on

After seeing the first two parts of the SOBU….NO ONE has a problem with Barack not coming…on the other hand….Hill might want to cancel….it has gotten ugly for her and Bill.

Chelsea Clinton 2016

kris Said on

KELIN, b.o. not being there is suspect. period. no matter how you slice it. doesn’t it at least make you wonder? even a little?

i like the chelsea thing. obama will be debating another clinton for that race too!

JAY Said on

KRIS
You dont get it. The people that are participating dont have a problem with. You are trying to make this an issue for the sake of you candidate. Let it go. Why weren’t you concerned about the remarks that Bill O’reilly made but you are concerned about OBAMA not attending a function that has been going on for years which no one has came up with solutions to whats going on in that black community. SOBU is a meeting about meeting.

PLEASE FORGIVE FOR MIS-SPELLED WORDS.

as a young black female, i feel like obama is a positive influence on people period. he gives a message of hope, and change which we so desperatly need. 400 years of slavery and opression, we will finally get what is rightfuly ours. to be able to have a voice, and show more than what the media and others alike portray us to be. I love this man and all that he stands for. CONTINUE SUPPORTING OBAMA

shannon Said on

mary bryant says obama is evil and identifies him with osama the only thing they have in common is rhyming names. so please give it a break, you are entitled to your opinion even if it is rediculously retarted and unfounded.he’s a man fighting for the american people, unfortunatly, that includes idiots like you.

doug Said on

this is the closest we will come to a legitimate contender for a long time to come, I would like to see obama pave the way as far as he. but it is enevitable that this is one of the many flops to come with the secret service and other agencies. Everything he does will be magnified ten times over because… His is definitely a sitting duck. You know good guys dont last long, ask Martin. I think Obama is ultimately making farfewell speeches, because the older the heads the less they want change, upsetting thier posh ways of life. Yes its an honor to serve but trust me, the benefits is good too.

kris Said on

MS. JAY,
i DO “get it”. i have read stories in print and online that say there are people at the event that do wish he was there and wonder why he wasn’t. ESPECIALLY since new orleans was chosen to highlight the plight of many poor people (i.e. BLACK people) who suffered and still suffer from the bush administration’s lack of support for them during katrina.

at least show up via satellite or something, you know?! and of course i’m making it an issue! a prominent african american man is running for president. what he says and does matters! what o’reilly says about the wife of that candidate does not. and i think it was inappropriate. but what the !%#@ does everyone want to happen?

CURIOUS1,
i am here for the same reason you are. to voice my opinion on a forum meant to do just that.

YOU HAVE TO MEET WITH THE BILDERBURG GROUP BEFORE YOU TAKE ON THE WHITE HOUSE. MRS. CLINTON HAS MET WITH THE GROUP FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS. THEY HAVE TOTAL INFLUENCE ON WHO WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. THE ELECTION PROCESS IS JUST A FORMALITY TO KEEP THE PEOPLE AWAY FROM THE TRUTH. DONT TAKE MY WORD ON IT. READ THE BOOK ON THE TRUTH ABOUT THE BILDERBURGS. YOU WILL BE VERY AMNAZED. SOMETHING T THINK ABOUT. OBAMA WILL NOT BE INVITED TO MEET WITH THEM.

@Jordan Said on

Sugar)

Sounds like to me your making the BILDERBURG GROUP the prime decision maker for the American people… Did we lose our faith here?

Well here is my perspective…

God makes the final call and every decision that is made is made for a reason by GOD. Yes God gives us choice but if HE feels that Obama is the right leader for our country, well then Obama will be our next president.

Make Sense?

Kris,
I am from the New Orleans/Baton Rouge area orginally, trust me 80 percent of the black folks there rather he’d be in Texas campaigning instead of New Orleans this weekend, being that they support or voted for him. Its ridiculous and quite insulting at this point that everyone tries to use the Katrina issue or black tragedies, as Tavis did (read his commments), to bring honor to their cause. Where was Tavis, when all this was going on? Brad Pitt has done more for New Orleans
area than the Black Caucus and Black Forum done. THAT I DO HAVE AUTHORITY TO SPEAK ON. I WAS THERE in both the political and business economic redevlopment down there.

Futhermore, the State of Black Union, I have participated in, although resourceful, it is not fully adequate being that it does not go across fully the african american political spectrum …liberal, moderate, and conservative perspectives. For the exception of a moderate and a conservative here or there, it does not give a full breath of what a roundtable is suppose to do. IF Tavis cant see that Texas is momumental to both Hillary and Barack in having the opportunity to becoming the next President, I have to draw conclusions his idealism is either shortsided, or at the very least self centered.

lilbaby26 Said on

kris, did you read the letter that obama sent to tavis about the event? in it it stated that due to him campaigning, that he wasn’t able to attend but he wanted his wife to take his place. tavis said no. i’m pretty sure that he would have said no to satellite as well.

peachyga Said on

I do pray that Sen. Obama will become our next President because it would be so much better than what we have now. Better yet, we need a CHANGE of new blood in the so call “WHITE” House. I’ve said it all along that the Secret Service will not protect him just because of his race.

I just wonder if they would protect Sen. Clinton? She’s a white woman and the wife of B Clinton. But she’s not truly for anyone that’s not her race. If Sen. Obama is elected we all will have to keep a watchful eye on him and the Secret Service for Sen. Obama safety.

Donald statement is that the “Nation of Islam protect him and 100 Black Men” should protect Sen. Obama.

What my history tells me is that we are equal and do deserve the same protect by the law of this land that God has so richly created for all mankind. So many people play that race card until it’s just unreal. I see all around me that we do need a serious change from the top to the bottom of our USA government.

Either way the election goes, we need a change no matter what. Someone has to clean up the mess that Bush has done. For the sake of all Americans please get out and VOTE people. Your vote do count even if you don’t think so.

Miane Said on

Hopeful President Barack Obama does have an enormous amount of followers at this time. I would think that it’d be quite difficult to screen everyone. So, until he actually becomes President, I think he’ll have to cover himself as best as possible – seriously reprimanding (preferably ridding himself of) those that are there to protect him when they falter, and just pray that all goes well. I think Barack should hire private investigators to watch the watchers. After all the things this country has gone through in the past and continue to go through with regards to the FBI, I must say, I would not want them involved in my campaign in any way. They, themselves, are not to be trusted. This is what I feel.

Unfortunately, in order to campaign and get the votes, you’ve got to connect with the people. He has been doing so – in a real big way. Though, there’s still this doubt in my mind that the hype is a ploy by individuals who just don’t want Hillary on the ballot. They don’t want Barack, but they don’t want Hillary with a passion. So, in using this reverse psychology, Hillary won’t make it to the ballot, and Hillary’s too hungry for the position and too trusting to even think of that. So, instead of spending more time dis-crediting republicans (rightfully so), she goes against her own. They’ve got something good to ride on, but I don’t hear anyone talking about it as much anymore and that is the sly moves of McCain with that other woman. I don’t see that devil looking wife of his with that big plastic smile anymore. It’s still there, but you can see that it’s not as strong – yet it’s still planted. McCain did not have personal relations with that woman. Just like Mayor Kilpatrick. He said he was not romantically involved with that woman. But Kilpatrick was all over the news (everywhere.) (Speaking of that, I told everyone that another scandal would surface soon and Kilpatrick’s would die down, and so it has (smile.)

Well, Barack, be safe as best you can. But, don’t be afraid to go after the things in life that you want. Please don’t let “haters” stop you. As Katt Williams once said, “haters, if you don’t have anyone to hate on, feel free to hate on me.” Haven’t you haters learned by now, when you hate on us, try to defame, degrade, demean us, we simply gain strength from it. It appears that Barack not only gained strength, he gained momentum. So, just get out of the way and go pick on somebody else – like maybe yourself.

You see, Black Men are very powerful people. I’m not surprised that Barack has so many people from all walks of life gravitating to him. He’s absolutely awesome! I’m sure there will be people out there that’s going to try and kill him, get him crossed up, deny his great ideas (in Congress), etc. etc. But, he seems to be bigger than that, and (as I said earlier) knows how to rise above it. He will take care of himself as best he can, I’m sure, but will continue to persevere as always. God will do the rest. When it is his time, he will leave this earth. Until then, Haters hate on – now or later… It really doesn’t matter, because (as you can see) Barack will be Barack. (NOTE: Black people, especially those from back in the day, please, please, pleeeeeease, stop giving life to the Jim Crow law. You’re creating a fight (publicly) amongst your own kind (Tavis). Just stop. Don’t you see the damage it’s causing. Yes this is a free country, but think about what you’re doing, and where you are while you’re expressing yourself. Those that are empowered (in these united states) don’t care about you, Tavis, or Barack. So, all you do is give them ammunition to tear another brother down. (Have your differences, but keep them to yourself…if it’s not causing havoc in your life, and I’m sure Barack has not caused havoc in your life Tavis. (Another bit of food for thought – you can’t blame others for what happens in your life. If you’re not happy, it’s not Barack’s fault, it’s yours. When you change, the world around you will change.) Leave the brother alone, please, haters. We can’t afford to have no Black on Black bickering in this most public race. I wouldn’t be surprised if a Black man is not trying to bring Barack down. If I were Barack, I wouldn’t trust anyone (but God and my closest family members, i.e. his wife and his children.

This is a new day, and he seems to have what it takes to spin this wheel into a new era, finally. If what we see is real, there is a “national/worldwide refresh” taking place, and as with all “new” things, it will take some time. So, tighten up those people around you Obama and don’t give up. God’s got you!!
