Stir Up Some Fear to Win

Posted Feb. 26, 2008 – Until this recent stunt by the Clinton campaign, I had hoped folks would see a contest waged without getting low down and dangerously dirty by Democratic rivals.
But today’s alledged actions by the Clinton campaign, tells me they want a win and they’ll do just about anything to do so. I’m sure Black Americans will be in no mood to forgive and forget this recent stunt so closely on the heels of a discussion about the safety of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)
The release of a photo of Obama in traditional Somali clothing during a 2006 trip to African was sent to the conservative website Drudgereport.com (without explanation) to get the policy conversation off of NAFTA. The website says the picture came from the Clinton campaign.
Maggie Williams, who’s Black, wouldn’t even deny leaking the photo, and released a statement saying, “If Barack Obama’s campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.”
They knew the photo could and would be misunderstood, just what they wanted. This dirty little trick could cost the Clinton campaign more than they ever imagined.
I can’t wait to see what Williams has in store next.
Posted Feb. 27, 2008 – On Tuesday afternoon, I received a call followed by an email from one of the folks at Clinton camp whom I have worked with for a long time expressing concern about this blog. She said the campaign has no proof this photo of Obama was sent to the Drudgereport by a member of their team, and asked that information be shared with my readers. Here’s what she had to say;
“Hey Pamela …
Just wanted to follow up with you on today’s blog posting … as we discussed earlier …the first sentence implies that the campaign has put out this photo. Senator Clinton (and the campaign doesn’t condone this type of practice). No one at the campaign had seen this alleged Email or this photo until we saw it on the Drudge Report along with the rest of the media (and at this moment no one has yet to see it). That being said, can you update your blog to reflect that the campaign did not have anything to do with this “stunt” — this, as I said, does not do anything positive for our campaign so the question for you would be “why would we engage in this type of tactic?” Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Racial overtones and ethnic smears are to be expected. Expecially from the disperate and absence of substance. We must ask ourselves does Bush’s wear of African dress make him a radical? Or Ronald Reagan had worn a Irish Kelt doing his journey to Ireland made him a Northern Ireland Republican Army sympathizer? Ridiculous and baseless. Frankly in someways its encouraging, it shows they,being the opponents are Mr. Obama are running out of options.
I cannot even begin to describe the outright shame….dissapointment is a severe understatement. This is plain disgusting tactics on the part of the Hillary Camp. It instults the intelligence of the American people, and it sheds light on the once disputable, now plain sight fact that Hillary Clinton would do absolutely anything to win.

It’s about time people of color see the Clinton’s for what they really are when it comes to playing the race card… I think Hispanics need to realize if this demeaning attack can be done to Obama then it can be done to any person of color; wake-up and realize this lady is phony every day of the week…
This photo should have been published before this… as stated, other American Politicians have traveled and worn clothing from other countries… big deal… if anyone has a problem with the picture then they are the ones that have doubts about obama…

you can sell that line of bull somewhere else. We all know why that photo was released by the Clintons. It is a ploy to try to put fear in people about Obama being a Muslim, which he is not.
Lets get the facts straight,Obama was wearing traditional Somali attire,be it Muslim attire is not here nor there.This fear and hate mongering is why we are in the quagmire/fiasco we are in.America(far too many) needs too stop being religious bigots living in fear of all those who are not like WHITE america,if not we will continue too slide down the slippey slope that exist.
First of all, being a Muslim does not mean you are a terrorist. Second, Obama has stated repeatedly that he is not a Muslim. Third, why should it matter anyway? I want a change. I’m tired of people playing politics with my life. I’m tired of rich people getting over on poor and middle class people. My family has worked hard all their life and we barely have much to show for it. I will vote for Obama in 08′.
Hillary is mentally unstable! She clearly will try to destroy anyone that is not on her side. The good thing about it is God says whats in the dark will come into the light. Hillary’s true colors are shining bright. She will stop at nothing to win! God don’t like ugly Hillary, go home and pray for forgiveness.
Tonights debate will be interesting. We are taking bets on which of Hillary Clintons mulitple personality shows up!
I pray that Obama is sharp as a tack. That he doesn’t let her get any side quips in and that he has strong detailed objections to all the crap she may bring up.
Tonights debate will hopefully put a nail in Hillary’s Political coffin and keep it sealed forever…Go work in the private sector Hillary..they need more corrupt CEO’s in this world! (sarcasm)
I’m very concerned about Hillary’s apparent manic depressive and/or bi-polar behavior,especially if she somehow becomes President.Christy341 if you are betting I recommend you cover all bases because her back is against the wall and she probably feels compelled too throw everything but the kicthen sink.
This is typical of presidential canidates and dosen’t suprise me at all. Every election has a canidate or two who will pull up dirt on the other. The American people will realize that this is a desprate grasp in hopes of maintianing her votes and possibly gaining some new or lost ones. Another thing is more sad then her sending this picture to the public, is that fact that the news reacts and posts it all over the place. I feel that if we continue to support obama and don’t react to it then we defeated her whole purpose of making it public in the first place.
Hillary’s mental state should be the issue here….we have gone from….”I am honored to be running against you…to meet me in Ohio Barack Obama”…..she is EXTREMELY unstable but thankfully so she is showing it to ALL of America….
I called it a week ago….before March 4th..HILL will shut it down and drop out…this debate will be the nail in the coffin! Get the straight jacket ready and Bill you will be single soon ….
