Stir Up Some Fear to Win

Posted Feb. 26, 2008 – Until this recent stunt by the Clinton campaign, I had hoped folks would see a contest waged without getting low down and dangerously dirty by Democratic rivals.
But today’s alledged actions by the Clinton campaign, tells me they want a win and they’ll do just about anything to do so. I’m sure Black Americans will be in no mood to forgive and forget this recent stunt so closely on the heels of a discussion about the safety of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)
The release of a photo of Obama in traditional Somali clothing during a 2006 trip to African was sent to the conservative website Drudgereport.com (without explanation) to get the policy conversation off of NAFTA. The website says the picture came from the Clinton campaign.
Maggie Williams, who’s Black, wouldn’t even deny leaking the photo, and released a statement saying, “If Barack Obama’s campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed. Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.”
They knew the photo could and would be misunderstood, just what they wanted. This dirty little trick could cost the Clinton campaign more than they ever imagined.
I can’t wait to see what Williams has in store next.
Posted Feb. 27, 2008 – On Tuesday afternoon, I received a call followed by an email from one of the folks at Clinton camp whom I have worked with for a long time expressing concern about this blog. She said the campaign has no proof this photo of Obama was sent to the Drudgereport by a member of their team, and asked that information be shared with my readers. Here’s what she had to say;
“Hey Pamela …
Just wanted to follow up with you on today’s blog posting … as we discussed earlier …the first sentence implies that the campaign has put out this photo. Senator Clinton (and the campaign doesn’t condone this type of practice). No one at the campaign had seen this alleged Email or this photo until we saw it on the Drudge Report along with the rest of the media (and at this moment no one has yet to see it). That being said, can you update your blog to reflect that the campaign did not have anything to do with this “stunt” — this, as I said, does not do anything positive for our campaign so the question for you would be “why would we engage in this type of tactic?” Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Umm do you REALLY think she’d do something like this? The Clinton camp is being blamed for this and they have said they had nothing to do with it. You all are just as bad as the people who just automatically assume the man is Muslim. Go read some facts.
One thing is for sure – Black people have come forth as the MOST racist group around. I’m ashamed.
jfffnn yep you are correct hillary has some sort of “condition” and i too am inclined to think she is gonan go for broke and toss the kitchen sink and the entire sub division at him. right now she is mad as hell cuz she KNEW and ASSUMED she had this thing all wrapped up then along comes this dude withthe funny sounding name and now she is assed out! hillary is a scary broad and after tonight once her typical bitterness shows, i shudder to think there are still people who would vote for this clown.
i am sure the typical white suburban soccer and t-ball moms will vote for her cuz she is a woman and if she breaks down again it will be cuz they pickin on her and we all know what happens after that. i guess that bill clinton gully juice aint all that potent! lol
Of course the Clinton campaign is responsible for this picture. Of course they are dirty and are getting muddier by the minute. Of course Maggie”Carl Rove” Williams is slinging the dirt around. These are their last days in which to throw Americans into a crazed frenzy.
When it comes to Clinton you can forget unity, and peace because what she thrives on is confusion and cohersion. So if she can destroy everything on her way to the top what does she care…so long as she is on top.
SHAME ON YOU HILLARY CLINTON. You don’t care about Americans at all!
the more i think about this, the less i think hillary had anything to do w/ it, for a couple reasons:
1st, yeah, i think she knows how to pick a fight, but this is just too stupid, & i she’s definitely not stupid.
2, i’m not tryin to believe ANYTHING that comes outta the drudge report
3, who REALLY has to gain from this kinda bullsh*t? the other side…
with one picture they can smear BOTH progressive candidates; makin her look bad to us & him look bad to idiots who are scared of anyone wearin a turban. win-win, divide n conquer for the republicans.

This is why I do not pay any attention to these elections. All they seem to want to do is try to make each other look like liars and fools instead of trying to figure out the right thing to do about the state that we are all in. It’s not good.

This is so typical. Maggie (what’s her face), had to be the one who did the dirty work.We as black folks, have complained so much about not being able to do anything because of ”the white man” now we have the oppotunity to have a black President in office, and we have more white folk, behind him than his own kind. That’s why we are still NIGGAS!!! Maggie is the head of the #~%%? BUNCH SHE IS JUST PAID A LITTLE BIT MORE!!! THIS IS SO SAD.

I’m confused. This is a poorly written report. Who is Maggie Williams, and why is her quote significant?
williams is clinton’s campaign manager, used to be her chief of staff at the white house. yeah, this really is poorly written. by the way, the link i clicked said “is team hillary behind this?”, but the aticle just assumes she is??

according to the drudge report, someone from the clinton camp put the photo out. maggie williams neer acknowledged that it was someone from her camp but did say that obama should not be offended but the first lady goes there and dresses up all the time and no one says anything. BS!!!!! her name is not barrack hussein obama it’s hillary rodham clinton and she certainly doens’t have anyone calling her a terrorist. she is a disgrace…
also, the clinton camp is now putting out the kitchen sink on obama as a last mintue effort. kris, your candidate not only has compared this man to bush, mocked him openly about his message that she lacks, has blown through her(and your money if you are donating) money and has lost 11 contests in a row. when are you gonna realize that you candidate will do anything to win and the country and dem party be d*mned? if she had that much judgment, she should know that if she was to get the nomination, then she needs to end this b*llsh*t. because there’s a lot of people out there who won’t vote for her. you should be offended by this intentional fear mongering

This tactic proves Sen. Obamas’ point in a debate a couple months ago. The Clinton camp is using the post 9/11 fears of anything that appears to be unamerican or unchristian like to be a threat. I am sure Sen. Clinton would be upset and embrassed if Sen. Obama pulled up some old photos of her posing as something that she is not or later claim to not agree with.
Hillary is acting like an evil ememy of Barack. However, God will make Hillary, Barack’s foot stool. Hillary be thy careful!
