Stir Up Some Fear to Win

Sen. Obama during 2006 visit to KenyaBy Pamela Gentry, Senior Poltical Producer

Posted Feb. 26, 2008 – Until this recent stunt by the Clinton campaign, I had hoped folks would see a contest waged without getting low down and dangerously dirty by Democratic rivals.

But today’s alledged actions by the Clinton campaign, tells me they want a win and they’ll do just about anything to do so.  I’m sure Black Americans will be in no mood to forgive and forget this recent stunt so closely on the heels of a discussion about the safety of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)

The release of a photo of Obama in traditional Somali clothing during a 2006 trip to African was sent to the conservative website Drudgereport.com  (without explanation) to get the policy conversation off of NAFTA.  The website says the picture came from the Clinton campaign.

Maggie Williams, who’s Black, wouldn’t even deny leaking the photo, and released a statement saying, “If Barack Obama’s campaign wants to suggest that a photo of him wearing traditional Somali clothing is divisive, they should be ashamed.  Hillary Clinton has worn the traditional clothing of countries she has visited and had those photos published widely.”

They knew the photo could and would be misunderstood, just what they wanted. This dirty little trick could cost the Clinton campaign more than they ever imagined.

I can’t wait to see what Williams has in store next.

Posted Feb. 27, 2008 – On Tuesday afternoon, I received a call followed by an email from one of the folks at Clinton camp whom I have worked with for a long  time expressing  concern about this blog.  She said the campaign has no proof this photo of Obama was sent to the Drudgereport by a member of their team, and asked that information be shared with my readers.  Here’s what she had to say;

“Hey Pamela …

Just wanted to follow up with you on today’s blog posting … as we discussed earlier …the first sentence implies that the campaign has put out this photo. Senator Clinton (and the campaign doesn’t condone this type of practice). No one at the campaign had seen this alleged Email or this photo until we saw it on the Drudge Report along with the rest of the media (and at this moment no one has yet to see it). That being said, can you update your blog to reflect that the campaign did not have anything to do with this “stunt” — this, as I said, does not do anything positive for our campaign so the question for you would be “why would we engage in this type of tactic?” Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Best, TRACI”

Now, what do you Obama-worshipping people say? Obama said that he believed Hillary when she said she was not responsible for this picture. Your Obamagod says to not blame her. Will you disobey your Obamagod?

You are a stupid person, get lost with this obamagod nonsence, What Barak is trying to do is help America black white whatever everybody. if we don’t support him America is in trouble.
Please black people do not make it a black white issue, because for the first time it’s not.
That’s why whites are supporting him. They know that they need help.If Obama does not win, it will be the white mans lost, America will end with John Mcain as president.

bigdaddy Said on

Obama will win Texas and Ohio. Everyone knows who the better person is, whites may vote for her because of her name, but the world knows who the best is. It’s like Micheal Jordan playing Larry Bird when they were at their best, who will win, easy answer. No contest. Hillary has to act like a 2 year old met me in Ohio, and she wants to be President, that is funny, she and bush should get married, great silly couple.

Hey Delusionalwiseone! I have a question for you …simpleton.

Why is it hat you vultures feel that singling out inconsequential garbage about Obama somehow validates your support of Hillary? I swear, you guys have even adopted Hillary’s low down opportunistic scavenger tactics. And like Hillary you hyena’s do not realize that the time and energy you expend manufacturing feeble little ineffective attacks are an utter exercise in futility. YOUR GIRL IS LOSING, STICK A FORK IN HER, SHE’S COOKED!

Hilary Clinton is the BEST person to run this country. The media and all those nieve supporters of Barack Obama are in for a rude awakening when the republican attack machine gets through with him. Barack Obama is the media darling today, but they are just building him up to tear him down. He hasn’t answered any SERIOUS questions from the media. In debates he agrees with and repeats everything Hilary says. He has been given a free ride in this contest, but his free ride will be over soon. I support Hilary and I want her to take this fight as far as it will go. She has earned the right to do so! Anyone who suggests she gets out of the race when neither of them will have enough delegates to win has their own agenda. A contest only ends when there is a winner. Keep fighting Hilary, there are millions of Americans who can think for themselves and have not jumped on the Barack Obama bandwagon. As an African American, I support Hilary and remember how she and her husband have stuck their necks out for minorities, the poor, and the middle class in this country. I’ve never been poled by anyone from the media because they don’t want to hear from anyone that supports Hilary. To them they know all of her skeletons in the closet, they are just salivating to find out the skeletons in Obamas closet and they can’t do that unless he is the nominee!

Good night for Obama. Our polls here show that we are leading now in Texas. Must continue to strive beyond the negative politics and mudslinging. Vote Vote Vote. A Change is Coming. Obama 08

Why hasn’t this photo been released before… why did it take 2 years?? If obama thinks that this is racist or prejudicial then he must have done it and then held in back for the purpose that it now serves!!!!!

Are you all ready to be honest and real, leave the double standard behind??

I doubt it… Afrian Americans mus now be held by the standards that they expect of other races.

first, PISSED, about “mocking God”. i HOPE you’re not referring to obama! that would make the article below even scarier.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chi-oped0218krauthammerfeb18,0,7036639.story

but second, look at the larger point. SOME, not all, maybe not even you, but SOME b.o. supporters are jumping on the b.o. bandwagon for the message of hope and change, and remove lobbyists, etc…i think the point she was making is that it’s okay to promise all this, UNLESS you don’t deliver when you enter the white house. and i’m going to bet that if he did become president, the brakes are going to put on real fast to some of these pie-in-the-sky ideas he has been forwarding to gain support.

about the photo. who knows who forwarded it. and shame on you NICOLE B. for suggesting clinton of all people is playing on 9/11 fears! she said early in the campaign that she would not use 9/11 (like dubya) to gain support. SHE COULD HAVE invoked 9/11 last night when russert asked about job loss in new york after her 2000 campaign speech. “well, yeah russert, there was a job loss in new york. remember a little thing that happened in 2001. that didn’t seem to help!” dumb, bloated m-effer.

I don’t have a problem with this man being black my problem is how can he run a country that he can’t stand and salute the flag of this country, he dosn’t believe in what we stand for as a country, he dosn’t believe in God and not to mention we are at war with a muslem country….. I’m not saying that Hillary is the best by any means but we know where her heart is. I don’t trust this guy he looks sneeky. I’m just saying when it comes to it who’s side will he be on!!!

christy341 Said on

The Clintons never delivered on their promises in the White House. She does not and did not deliver on her promises to NY. She told NY that she was not using our state as a stepping stone to the presidency…clearly a lie! As a life long NY’er Hillary Clinton has done little to nothing for our state except go after Jewish support. Now as a friend of the PLO I guess she had to course correct before running for President.

M. Elle Said on

A friend asked me would I feel bad if Hillary lost. If she had a run a clean campaign, based on issues, not race-baiting and hate mongering maybe. But the way the Clintons have run things shows me just how dirty they can be. Blacks? Through them out the window. Compare Jesse Jackson to Barack Obama. Send out racially inflammatory pictures to the press and deny responsibility. Try to subly connect Barack to Islamic terrorism. I believe Donna Summers sang it best, “Enough is enough is enough!!!”

We, the voters, are smarter than this, Hillary. Woman up and lose gracefully.

kris) you may wish that is was referring to
obama,….not! there’s only one god..and you
should know this, unless you are an athesis?
which would explain alot re: your postion on
this election….hillary seems to go too far
in an attempt to make useless points! get your
into some form of relaxation…if you really
want to help! ok you spend way too much time
blogging.you’re everywhere man…as a matter
you and hillary could use a break..best wishes!

max1211 Said on

Kris, haven’t you figured it out yet? You’re not entitled to your opinion! Especially if you’re not insulting people! Fall in line & don’t ask questions. ;)

kris Said on

right max1211. but without questions and dissenting opinions, not only would this be boring, but it would allow our leaders to walk all over us (e.g. dubya). are we setting ourselves up for another politician that we give our undying support to?

there are three kinds of obama supporters.
1) those who think he is the best candidate based on his policies his oratory

2) those who vote for him because he’s black

3) and the most dangerous kind, and probably a disproportionately high number of voters, those who have joined the cult of personality.

i have been and am still only suggesting that people THINK about their choice. and when they have made peace with why they have chosen their candidate, they will stop the baseless personal attacks, and rabid rebuttals defending the messiah at every turn. let’s have a logical discussion here. because guess what, if b.o. wins the primary, he is going to have A LOT of HILLARY supporters to convince. no small feat. so, i would suggest some of you obamaniacs start trying to reach across in a positive way, instead of these silly attacks. the same goes if HILLARY gets the nom.

@ Kris

Silly = complaining about being asked a question first in a presidential debate and citing SNL as your source. Silly = Arranging a press conference where you can mock scold Obama in a teacher-student fashion, “Shame on you!” Silly = running your campaign into the ground while getting your minions to declare “the nomination is nearly locked up.” From one educated voter to another, Hillary = Silly.

Obama for America, 2008.

kris and max911 there’s nothing wrong with
asking question! and this is the problem that i
have with you and why feel you that you may need
some intervention…you are forever twisting and
manipulating what you think people are saying instead of taking things at face value? there’s
a name for this, and again i am no professional
but i do have some experience and know what it’s
like not to be able to ask questions in this
world! and i would like to see that change!

pissed Said on

kris) why do you insist on asking questions that you already have the answers too?

max1211 Said on

Hey pissed – no worries, i’m already in therapy. :) i really was just tryin 2 just take the edge off, & help a brother or sister out (sorry kris, i don’t know ur gender), cuz i felt like s/he was gettin ganged up on! I know this is a VERY VERY important election, but it is just an election… These people aren’t running 4 Jesus, & Hillary’s not my mama, so i’m cool w staying away from insults. I feel like u’re tryin 2 tell me i’m crazy cuz of how I voted, which seems a little harsh. Am I wrong?

kris Said on

no, you’re not wrong MAX1211.

silly=your supporters not being able to name any of your accomplishments on national television (youtube: hardball/hannity and colmes obama accomplishments)

silly=not mandating health care for everyone.

silly=saying you’ll have tea and biscuits with terrorist leaders of countries

silly=many of the comments i receive here from b.o. supporters

HILLARY 2008

M. Elle Said on

Lol. Silly = expecting your own predictions of inevitability and not the voters to decide the outcome. Silly = voting FOR a war and then complaining about it. (See Obama’s “bus in the ditch” comment last debate). Silly = thinking that as president you don’t have to communicate with nations you might not agree with. (See the word “diplomacy.”) Silly = throwing crazy charges out there hoping one would stick. Plagiarism! (When Obama’s campaign officer gave him the line and it was Hill who plagiarized from Edwards in her last line of the Texas debate with her “We’ll be fine” comment.) You’re untruthful! (When it’s Bill who gets much of Hill’s campaign funds from overseas biz dealings, contrary to what she says.) You’re inexperienced! (Does running health care into the ground while you’re first lady count? Maybe… And will we ever see those records of what she actually did during those eight years? Doubt it.)

As an educated voters, I say no to silly and yes to a new kind of leadership. And voters in the last ten states have agreed. Obama ‘08
