A Black Man’s Advantage?

(Posted March 11, 2008) – Talk about hatin’ on a Black man, Democrat Geraldine Ferraro, obviously still bitter from her failed run as the first woman vice-president, is venting her disappointment by attacking Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)
What’s up, I thought it was all about being treated equal, and race and gender were being put aside, not according to Ferraro – she contends one particular woman isn’t being treated fairly.
Ferraro, who ran for vice president with Walter Mondale in 1984, believes her candidate; Sen. Hillary Clinton (N.Y.) isn’t getting a “fair shake” in the media, and the reason is gender based. 
Her complaint echoes the same whining Clinton exhibited during the last debate when she complained about being asked the first question by moderators.
Ferraro told Californian newspaper the Daily Breese, Obama wouldn’t be where he is in the race today if he were “a White man’’ or a woman of any color.
Here’s what she had to say;
“I think what America feels about a woman becoming president takes a very secondary place to Obama’s campaign – to a kind of campaign that it would be hard for anyone to run against,” Ferraro said.
“For one thing, you have the press, which has been uniquely hard on her. It’s been a very sexist media. Some just don’t like her. The others have gotten caught up in the Obama campaign.
“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position,” Ferraro told the newspaper. “And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”
So what do you think about her comments?
i think the only reason they said that is because the now that Hilary has a chance to lose and i also think that it is showing her real colors

On Ferraro behalf that was a real ignorant thing to say!!! in our society today it is more HARD for a black man to make it then a white man… some feel as though a black person can be compared to a poor white person, with that being said…………OBAMA is the man to vote 4!! its time for CHANGE America!
Ferraro reflects that some elements of the Democratic party are a throwback to the original Democrats who espoused racism when Blacks were solidly with the party of Lincoln-the Republicans.

I agree and disagree, because I think people are voting for him because he is black and people have never seen a black man as president so many would like to see it happen in their lifetime (regardless of the outcome of it).That is why I agree with her. I disagree with her because It’s like say just because he’s black he’s winning and it’s hard for a white man to be president when that’s all we’ve had and they don’t want that really to change and obama is about change. I really got one thang to say “you go boy”.
I agree because people may just want to see a black president because we never thought that may be possible.
Every body is tripping on this woman’s comments, but what about Obama pastor comments, I don’t see nothing about his on the news it is like this if she something crazy the media blows it up but if something happens to him wow it is every where crazy and hypocritical
She may be right because i think even though America is racist in my opinion, they would probably prefer to have a Black man as president than a woman of any color. Nevertheless, that is her opinion but it is about time that an African American man has been given a fair chance, Thank you Lord!!!!!!
At the age of 40 this is not suprising. Usually when a canidate of African decent is involved in politics others try to find dirt to tar his or her rep but due to the fact Obama is a clean cut canidate and the right person not man for the job others have to find something else to smear him. With that said it’s amazing Ms. Geraldine Ferraro said Obama was lucky for being Black when usually it’s been pictured as being unlucky throughout history. Respect is no longer apart of politics whereas it’s never been given that people of African decent are smart,articulate and can be president of the U.S. if given the opportunity.

Her comment was a NEWSFLASH beyond belief;since when was it ever a advantage in poltics or most other fields for a Blackman ? Infact did anyone notice the news over the weekend that Sen.Obama is being castigated for words his Pastor spoke.This woman’s comments were just dead wrong at best and too be more accurate just plain old stupid.
Interesting most of the comments, that have been presented. Nobody is really talking about the Obama pastor a black man talking about white woman Now so you telling me that is okay for him to make the racially charged comments about Hilary and it is okay, but when a white woman makes truthful statement she is racist I don’t get it.
Natricia Bibbs……I was beginning to think I was the only one who felt that way. It appears to me that it’s a double standard being played here. We get all up in arms when Mrs Ferraro made a truthful comment, but we defend the black, angry preacher who not only spewed racist remarks from the pulpit, but cursed America….We can’t have it both ways people!

She’s a hater, obvious her comments were racial and she, like many others, doesn’t want a black man running the country. Black skin is in so GET OVER IT RACIAL PEOPLE IN AMERICA!!!
