A Black Man’s Advantage?

By Pamela Gentry, Senior Poltical Producer

(Posted March 11, 2008)  – Talk about hatin’ on a Black man, Democrat Geraldine Ferraro, obviously still bitter from her failed run as the first woman vice-president, is venting her disappointment by attacking Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.)

What’s up, I thought it was all about being treated equal, and race and gender were being put aside, not according to Ferraro - she contends one particular woman isn’t being treated fairly.

Ferraro, who ran for vice president with Walter Mondale in 1984, believes her candidate; Sen. Hillary Clinton (N.Y.) isn’t getting a “fair shake” in the media, and the reason is gender based. Geraldine Ferraro

Her complaint echoes the same whining Clinton exhibited during the last debate when she complained about being asked the first question by moderators.

Ferraro told Californian newspaper the Daily Breese, Obama wouldn’t be where he is in the race today if he were “a White man’’ or a woman of any color.

Here’s what she had to say;

“I think what America feels about a woman becoming president takes a very secondary place to Obama’s campaign - to a kind of campaign that it would be hard for anyone to run against,” Ferraro said.

“For one thing, you have the press, which has been uniquely hard on her. It’s been a very sexist media. Some just don’t like her. The others have gotten caught up in the Obama campaign.

“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position,” Ferraro told the newspaper. “And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept.”

So what do you think about her comments?

    and her opinion matters because?????

Haters hate thats what they do……

  2. Daphine on March 11th, 2008

    She really sounds stupid!

If I’m not mistaking she is saying that because he is bi-racial/or african american man he is getting it alot easier than a women of any race and a white man? please tell me I read that wrong.

She made it seem like white men have a harder time becoming president than a african american.

  3. Shawn on March 11th, 2008

I agree with her….This questions is for Obama supporters….

Would you be supporting Barack Obama for President if Barack Obama were an all white guy?

  4. Justin on March 11th, 2008

As much as one hate to agree with Ms. F., she’s right. and for the Obama campaign to be upset about it shows how much they are playing the race card. Heck, Obama started his campaign from the steps in Springfield spouting praise of Abraham Lincoln freeing slaves, saying how far the black man has come. He started it, but can’t take the heat of having his own thrown back on him. What a double standard he has! Anybody who speaks against him is “picking on him because of his race”. The press is afraid to critisize him for fear of racial acusations. The man has no campaign stand other than this!

  5. Mike on March 12th, 2008

Man people are stupid first of all the man is half blck half white and wud it be faire to say hillary is only in her position not only is she bill clintons wife but also a woman thz why she has all this womans group fighting for her, sometimes i wonder if this people in politics are smart but i guess not

  6. got1nowwhat on March 12th, 2008

Are you sure Ferraro isn’t being “uniquely hard” on Obama, while trying to play up her support of Mrs. Clinton??? The popular former president’s wife? I seriously don’t think there’s anything wrong with using that angle. This is politics and they get downright dirty, so play up your strengths.
By the way, when Obama brings up Monica Lewinski, and how stupid the first lady looked ‘TRYING’ to defend her husband, please don’t cry foul, Hilary supporters. You should either suck it up or spit it out on your dress… P.S. I like Hilary. Imagine what I’d say if I didn’t like her.

  7. lilbaby26 on March 12th, 2008

so hillary would never be in the position that she’s in because of her husband. obama can’t hide the fact that he’s black and hillary can’t hide the fact that she’s a woman. if anyone has been gettin the free ride it’s miss “inevitable”.

is it just me, or when the media refers to obama as media darling, and ‘kid’..isn’t that quite disrespectful to be calling an older blackman that? downplaying his manhood???

  8. Tammy on March 12th, 2008

If-a-could-a-would-a-should-a…IF Obama was what? Come on, have we stooped to wondering “What if…?” Who cares! The FACT is, HE IS NOT A WHITE MAN nor a WHITE WOMAN. Can’t waste time daydreaming about rhetoric, we’ve got a white chick to defeat! Get over yourself, lady.

  9. Soldier of Christ on March 12th, 2008

Why the big surprise? Isn’t it true? 90-1 in Mississippi- isn’t that what she is saying. So why do most of you knock the lady? She is telling the truth. If Obama was a white man- you all would be voting for Clinton- why? Because her husband did alot for african americans. Now, that Obama is black- the true voters are jumping clinton’s ship to vote for him. The lady told the truth- as Bill Cosby would say” do you know what you are doing”?

  10. Toy on March 12th, 2008

I was watching CNN on Friday, and I saw and heard Hillary tell people at a rally that they should vote for her because she is a woman. Nothing else, no points just vote for me because it’s time for a woman to be in charge.

Obama speaks on his principles and beliefs. Yes he gets lots of votes because he is black, but how is that any different from the way people have been voting for years. If he were white and had the same principles, I would still vote for him.

  11. Caddle on March 12th, 2008

    Yah trick yah!!!Soulja Boy!!!

  12. redd1212 on March 12th, 2008

She’s very ignorant and mad that Obama is ahead of Hillary. It’s not about race or gender, America is just tired of the same old ignorant, negative backlashes that are constantly going on in our country. How can she say if he wasn’t Black he wouldn’t be in this position? First of all, until you are an African-American, you can’t comment on any type of position someone may or may not be in. Obama is a great man, who is highly admired and respected among all humans. It’s people like Ferraro and the Clintons’ camp, who constantly allows their negative remarks & attacks help make Sen. Obama stronger. So we thank you! Take your frustrations and bigotry to some place where people care about how you feel, which is no where on this planet!

If Senator Obama was a white man, I’d still be voting for him. I’m not voting for him because he’s Black, that’s a bonus!!! I’m voting for him because he presents what I call a “digital” mindset, change, future, progress, technology. He’s giving “right” a chance for a change. Billary is represents “analog” outdated thinking. She’s just more of the same. The Obama voters are voting for a new way of thinking, a more inclusive and participatory Nation…why can’t people understand that it’s time out for the crap that our government has been feeding us since its inception. If folks would let go of their prejudices and ignorant rants for just a moment and think about America and its progress. Of course some of the mudslinging is what goes along with politics, but Senator Obama is trying to run a clean, issue driven campaign free of the unneccessary mug slinging, back biting, name calling, vicious and evil mess that has nothing to do with anything. Personally, I believe Billary is Republican. People are really getting into this election and not just voting for the lesser of the evils, but they’re researching and listening and watching and coming to the conclusion that Senator Obama is actually a viable candidate and what a concept, somebody who means well for the American people. He’s not about just Blacks or just women or just hispanics or just white or just anybody, he’s about all people and initiating the types of changes that will bring this country up to speed in all the areas of concern. America is falling behind in every conceivable way and we see it happening daily and ya’ll know I’m right, so the people (white, Black, women, men, young people, etc.) are voting CHANGE, not more of the same which Billary represents. And Ferraro is just hating and doing what haters do, behave envious and vicious. And she acts as if she’s the only competent fundraiser in the world. Get over yourself lady, you’re a has been like Billary is about to me. You know how people behave when they’re afraid they’re losing and especially.

  16. Tangela on March 12th, 2008

This is nonsense, anybody with half a decent mind knows how hard it is for black males in this country. Not only does Barack have to worry about his own kind questioning him as leader but White America does not want him as the president. Hillary and Ferraro need to wake up and walk away from the war with peace. This man is the better man for the Democratic party and for the presidency and Hillary knows it.

  17. Hiram Abiff on March 12th, 2008

the point of Obama being Successful in the Democratic Race - truthfully speaking is because he’s Black. I’m a Black Man and i think if Obama was White he would be at home fishing with John Edwards, real talk. Obama lost his “Brother-Man Card” when he bowed down, and dissed Minister Farrakhan ;-[

  18. Kim on March 12th, 2008

If Obama were a Black Woman, the’d be laying the same claims, that she is winning because she is a Black Woman.

    Stop Hating - Haters!

  19. Tim on March 12th, 2008

Hiram Abiff on March 12th, 2008

Obama didn’t lose his “Brotha Man” card because he dismissed Farrakhan. Who the hell said every Black person agrees with Farrakhan?!?! First of all, Farrakhan calls himself a Minister, yet he spews hatred toward white people. Isnt that hypocritical? A Racist Minister is as bad as a Gay Minister. Obama distanced himself from the Anti-semetic remarks that Farrakhan is known for, but Obama should join his racist side? If Obama is trying to UNITE the country, how the hell is he gonna “pick sides”? In Unity, there are no “sides,” there is only “one side”…THE ‘WHAT’S RIGHT’ SIDE!

  20. Densie on March 12th, 2008

People it’s time for America to get back to work. Our young men and women at war losing their lives because of this stupid war,we are losing our jobs,we our losing our homes.I support Senator Barack Obama because he is an educated man and he’s man of God. He wants to get this country back to work, so stop playing the racecar! It’s getting old. We are in the 21th century,it’s time for a change.

  21. Amanda on March 12th, 2008

Do not allow them to bring division amongst each other, and question you decision!

  22. Lady T on March 12th, 2008

This comment is for Justin, and any and everyone else who thinks this campaign is based upon race. First and foremost, it is not by far easier to become president as a black man than it is for a white man. I support Barack 100% NOW and I say that because before I mentally encouraged them both, anyone but McCain was my moto, however in the past weeks and months, Hillary has become a big baby and HER campaign has been the one’s throwing stones and making racial comments. I don’t want some grown woman throwing temper tantrums and giving low blows to get ahead. He has been a gentleman during this campaign and she has been a MONSTER - hiding behind her campaign members comments. She should not become president!

  23. confused on March 12th, 2008

I don’t get it, first there was no way he could win and it was a fairytale THEN it was he can’t win but he could be my VP and NOW it is he is only winning because he is Black?

HRC and her supporters are confusing me, someone please decode the messages

  24. Dee on March 12th, 2008

HATERS EVERYWHERE WE GO, HATERS EVERYWHERE WE GO !! - Tha Clinton campaign needs to stop pulling tha race card. How can being a black man help out in anything? Think about it.This is America !LOL ! If it wasn’t for blacks tha Clintons wouldn’t have had tha success they’ve had!! Why can’t tha Clinton campaign give Obama his props ?
GO OBAMA ! YES WE CAN !!!

Hillary Clinton is nothing more than a “FRAUD”. She is a “STOOGE” for The Lobbyists seeking The Presidency to be their “STOOL PIGEON” in The White House…

  26. John B. on March 12th, 2008

After hearing her ridiculous comment, I’m so glad she did’nt become the vice president in 84. She sat women back 20yrs.

  27. tamikma on March 12th, 2008

she sounds jealous and so what if Obama is wining she a sore loser. Obama is wining because of his campaign. not the color of his skin.

  28. Burnie on March 12th, 2008

It really doesn’t matter how you look at it. People will do anything to win, and for Ms. Clinton to defend her goes to show how she, really feels about us a hole, meaning I say what I have to, to win your votes but I don’t really care for you.

  29. Wendy on March 12th, 2008

She is obviously jealous of his success.

Here it is….prejudice finally comes to front. It never really went anywhere. Suppose this woman would have made it to the Vice Presidency?

The people have spoken and will continue to speak.

Geraldine, I thought this country was at the point where people could be judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin?

  30. Jon S on March 12th, 2008

Ferraro made the SAME remark quoted in a 1988 Washington Post article, but regarding Jessie Jackson.

This only goes to show she doesn’t make the comment about the man, but about the race - which just goes to show she is racist. Hillary should acknowledge this.

  31. alberto on March 12th, 2008

What’s up, I thought it was all about being treated equal, and race and gender were being put aside, as blacks we will never be treat equal
the clinton are playing a very dirty game martin L.king said that i hope that his children will live in a place that they will be judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin that a good look now united we can go better than we are doing now.
B obama will win i hope that he won get killed like J.K
P.S and we still have Magic and barkely supporting her

  32. Dreamer33 on March 12th, 2008

It doesn’t make any sense for her to be so ignorant. Sounds like she is a sore loser considering she lost while trying to become vice president. she needs to grow up. Really, her opinion does not matter too much anyway.

  33. Sharon Mitchell on March 12th, 2008

The comment by Ferraro was out of line, and for Hillary Clinton not to say anything about it says a lot.Hillary Clinton want to say the same thing but Ferraro said it for her,as for all these other State that Vote for Mr.Obama was all Black Right,Now how they sound like a fool All people of all colors that want change for this County.Me as a Woman in this USA it time for a Change I’am tire of the same old mess.As for Hillary Clinton She Vicious,Evil, and Negative.HellI;am a Woman and to listen to her it like listen to her Husband. And other that came beford her.. Its not about race or gender its about who is for the people (black or white)who will be our voice, who will keep us safe. Obama is that person!!! he understands the needs of the people.

  35. Joy B./PA on March 12th, 2008

I agree with Redd, Reign, Tim, Denise, Lady T & Wendy. Haters Hate because that’s what they do. As Katt Williams said, if you have 15 haters, by summer or in this case by November you need to have 18. So Obama needs to let all haters know that if they need someone to hate on, feel free to hate on him. HRC and her camp are jealous because in the beginning they didn’t believe that Barack would be a contender, because of his name and because of his race. They believed that black people would do what they have always done and have poor turn out for the primaries. Well guess what HRC, we have had poor turn out in the past because we didn’t have a reason or a person to vote for, well we do now. So hate if you will and spout off your bull redoric if you want but we are still on top. And for Ms. Ferraro’s information, I would have voted for anyone, no matter their race or gender if they were speaking my language. And unfortunately Hilary does not do that for me. She has the same mindset and the same views as her husband and the many presidents that came before him and after him. She has the same political ties and influence as the many that came before her. I wanted fresh, untainted blood in the White House and if that meant voting for a black man, a white man, a black woman or a white woman, than so be it. Barack happened to speak my language and his color is just a bonus. GO OBAMA!!!!

  36. promise on March 12th, 2008

  41. symone on March 12th, 2008

  42. ~Nett~ on March 12th, 2008

AS FAR AS I’M CONCERNED… … … SHE IS JUST ANOTHER RACIST BITC WHO IS JUST LIKE BILL AND HILLARY CLINTON IS UPSET ABOUT OBAMA’S WINS.
HILLARY IS GAY ANYWAY. SHE PROBABLY HAD A RELATIONSHIP WITH GERALDINE FERRARO. THATS WHY BILL CLINTON WAS GETTING HEAD IN HIS OFFICE FROM MONICA. HE ALREADY KNEW HILLARY AND GERALDINE HAD A THING GOING ON.

  43. Seasonin on March 12th, 2008

Here is the reality…and as a BLACK WOMAN, I want the best person for the job. I liked Obama before he decided to run for president. His message is clear and the promise of change is refreshing. There is going to be criticism and racial in-differences regardless, we still live in America….that hasn’t, nor will it change. In Hilary’s case, she’s playing the woman card to the fullest. Crying to get votes, insisting that her vote to go to war in Iraq was a mistake, ranting like a mad woman and being a hypocrite. She is not the favorite Clinton. And the battle begun when she was slapped in the face with a favorable component. To be true, true….the Blacks of America now have a voice that is not saying that we need to ban together as a race and conquer, but that we all need to ban together as Americans, under one common cause. Woman and Blacks have asked for nothing more than equality. Is it so bad that that time may be near or is it that they are afraid? People fear what they don’t know and understand.

  44. jacie on March 12th, 2008

For one thing it’s very clearly that Obama didn’t want to make this election about race, but Hilary’s campaign constantly attacks him negatively and brings up the race issue. This race is not about race, gender or religion but why is it when things aren’t going your way and you start mugsling and playing dirty politics.

I congratulate Obama about trying to keep focused on change and unity this country because rascism is one thing that needs to be addressed but not in this election it’s only going to divide the parties even future apart.

yes we can come together and get along as long as nation and accept people for who they are not the color of their skin.

Isn’t this what Martin Luther King march on the steps of Washington about we must overcome hatered and prejudice by eduation and fight to unite.

Senator Obama is blessed to be in this position. God has the first and last say so in this matter. Rerraro is racist and could not handle the fact of having an African American Man as President. Senator Clinton seems to want pity because, I do not want a woman president. After all, a man is the man of the house and it should stay that no matter what race or how many races a person has in them. Don’t get mad, just stay sad!!! because the brother will WIN!!!

And for that comment made by Ferraro well everyone has their own opinion but in her case who cares! 68. don on March 13th, 2008

All these People do is point the finger His ahead because his black,he robs the store cause his black,he listens to rap music because his black,he loves corn bread cause his black,he shot somone becuase his black. The most physo and curuped People are white cause they think they have the power and the abuse it.

  69. jainuk on March 13th, 2008

Girl, stop hatin on that educated black man. Dang, we invented things to!!!!

  70. Derrick on March 13th, 2008

All this talk about a racecard makes me so angry. Where does one get this supposed card? When does one use it? When you get pulled over does one whip it out and get out of a ticket? Did Rodney King forget his and that’s why he got an a@# whipping? Every thing I have been through to get where I am as a PA is because people were worried I was going to pull out a card? Regarding Ferrar, she may have had a point, may have, but the fact that she does not see that her comments hurt black people who have “made it” is what infuriates me.

    Lucky in RI

  71. Tina S. on March 13th, 2008

Since being a black man is such a great advantage to winning a presidential race, how come it took so long to happen? How long have blacks been in America? 400+ years, perhaps. How many black men have run for president? Less than five I’m sure. Geradine Ferrara is a racist pig! This was all a ploy to drum up pity and votes for Hillary. Yes, some kind of “reverse discrimination” ploy!

  72. james on March 13th, 2008

Check this out….The media, Democratic and Republican parties are trying to make this about race. They always talk about the Black support that Barack has. They just want to make white people think;hmmmmmmm since mostly all Black people are for Barack, we White folk ought to vote for Hilary!!! Watch it. Thats all you hear them say. They want the White people to stop voting for our proven and able leader, Barack Obama. How may Black people live in North and South Dakota?? Not enough to carry Mr Obama. He is not the Black Man or White Mans candidate. He is for everybody. Keep on pushin Barack!!!!!

  73. james on March 13th, 2008

On qualification, How is Hilary more qualified than Barack? She has been in the Senate longer and thats it. We should not be afraid to stand behind our people, especially when they are right or qualified.Being Bills wife does not count service to the country. Did you all hear Sinbads comment. He accompanied Hilary on a foreign affairs visit. The only RED phone moment she had was to see where they were going to eat…….lol.
Given the chance, Barack will make a great President. Others have made such a mess and they dont want to see him make things better. They hate like that.

  74. sheena boo on March 13th, 2008

i think she is jealous that she didnt become vice president back back in 84. yes i vote for obama because he black. yes i vote for obama because he’s gonna lead this country to a better place. yes i vote for obama because i feel that this country is in do of some change. obama will lead this country to the fullest of his abilities. people will hate anyway. if she was really into the these debates she will know that its not just blacks voting for him. he have alot of whites on his side. thats why i give obama my vote! he will be the President of United States. so get use to calling him President HATERS!!!

  75. youngmelo on March 13th, 2008

what is she talkin about bush was all on tv when he was running for president. Thats all we saw on tv back then so she have no argument to me

  76. keshia on March 13th, 2008

Ferraro comment was so unneccesary and it shows her and Hilary true side about race. Yes, Obama is black and Yes he is earning not getting alot of black votes because of his speeches and his goals. Just because he is black does not mean he has an advantage in this election, actually it’s the opposite. Ferraro is just hating on Obama because she did not believe that Obama would be doing this will in the Election. If Obama was white, red, green or orange I would still vote for him because I have listend to many of his speeches. Hilary speeches sounds just like every other former president candiate. Ferraro is venting beacuse Obama appeals to more black/whites/hispanics/asians. then the Clinton camp estimated. Plus Bilary is trying too hard to win tis election and she is just too fake. BiG UPS to Ferraro keep Hatin:) Cause Obama is on top..

  77. Tony on March 13th, 2008

People talk about Obama and say he is winning because he is black, really need to look at themselves and ask why are they saying that? Clinton is running solely based on her being Mrs. Clinton ( Bill’s wife)if she was a person named Geraldine Ferraro ( a nobody) she would have dropped out the race and Edwards would be still running. Its a shame how a person can go from unable to win, to he is only winning because he is black. I hope they can come up with other reason, here is one they can use. Obama is te best person for the job. Did Rev.Al or Jesse have those same advantages?

  78. lilbaby26 on March 13th, 2008

i would be voting for barack if he was a white guy named barry o’reilly and was running the same kind of campaign as he. why is it that when we make it, white folks say that it’s because of dumb luck and being black? it’s never the fact that we are determined and work just as hard as anyone else. let the hatin’ begin…

  79. Robin on March 13th, 2008

Wow this should really be the other way around. I mean we have come a long way to be able to have a BLACK man run for president. This is History in the maken

OBAMA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes We CAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Rock your VOte

  80. Shonuf on March 13th, 2008

This woman is just hatin’ . Regardless if he was black or white, this MAN got what it takes. He just happens to be a visible black man with some white who has taken it up a notch. GO MY BROTHA ! Blacks are educated you know.

  81. Monique Johnson on March 13th, 2008

I think that she is wrong like someone else said she’s making it seem like its hard on white men and white president. Remember Jesse Jackson ran for president and he didn’t make this far. We as black people have gone along way and this is a really big achievement on our have. I think she should just think before she speaks.

  82. Clariece on March 13th, 2008

Interesting that Americans of all colors have decided to think for themselves and elect who they want, not who they are told they should vote for. I am proud of all of us who are taking the time to think who would really be the best president for our country and voting. We are finally escaping the ‘old’ mindset of blacks against whites and whites against blacks. Don’t allow the media or people like Ferraro to send us back to the dark ages in our thinking. Let’s get together and pray for God to give us the best candidate! My choice is Obama, I believe he can get the job done!

  83. DENA on March 13th, 2008

This is ridiculous. She need to get a grip and realize this is 2008. It is time for a change and Barack Obama is the man in the right place, at the right time , and doing the right things. GO OBAMA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  84. ametrico on March 13th, 2008

i dont think its rite 4 her 2 say something like that about him. its wuz not rite wat so eva she is just mad obama can change the world. n clinton they both can n it dont matter what color they is it is the way they act and wat dey can do for the world(the u.s.a.) she need 2 stop hatin n b proud dat he made it dis far he could and will change the world n she is just mad cuz she didnt make it dis far…..

  85. Ms. Pinckney on March 13th, 2008

So what she saying she go vote for clinton bcuz she a woman it aint even about race or gender its about who go do a better job America is full of women and women r voting for obama cuz they feel hes better she aint running so all the talk just cuz thats her friend or becuz shes a woman needs 2 stop and she need 2 think about who go change america not making history of a woman being president cuz if obama when he go make history 2

  86. JN on March 13th, 2008

Thank you Derrik for your comments. I too have long wondered where I can purchase this “race card”. Ferraro’s comments were meant to diminish and demean Sen. Obama. Sen. Obama graduated from Harvard Law and served as president of the Harvard Law Review. He worked for years as a community organizer and in the IL state legislature before serving in the Senate. And all his hard work is being reduced to the fact that he is black, half black I might add. This is the same rhetoric Whites have used against us for years with affirmative action. We should not allow anyone to discredit his hard work and commitment to serving ALL the American people.

  87. annie on March 13th, 2008

All this is a bunch of bull. Opions are like butholes everybody has one. If I were Obama I would tell all the hater’s to kiss it and kiss it until they get enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  88. Rod on March 13th, 2008

Obama not winning cause he black but he getting a lot of the black vote just cause he black just like Hillary gettin alot of the woman’s vote just cause she a woman. I DO BELIEVE OBAMA IS WINNING BECAUSE THE MEDIA HASN’T SCRUTINZED HIM. HE’S BASICALLY PERFECT TO THEM BUT THAT WILL CHANGE IF HE GETS THE NOMINATION AND GOES AGAINST MCCAIN

  89. alyssa on March 13th, 2008

I think Hilary is a hater and is just mad cuz shes loseing. And datz so foul how she sed dat she wudnt like it if sum1 sed she only made it dis far cuz shes a woman. But i dont care neways her word doesnt matter 2 me shes a liar n shes gonna say wut ever she can 2 win.

  90. jainuk on March 13th, 2008

Girl, stop hatin on that educated black man.Black people did invent some of the things you use Ferraro!!!!!!!!1

  91. tiffane on March 14th, 2008

i think the only reason they said that is because the now that Hilary has a chance to lose and i also think that it is showing her real colors

  92. prince on March 14th, 2008

Hilary told ferraro to downgrade obama by talking about his race shame on you hilary

  93. trasta23 on March 14th, 2008

i think dat lady who sayin all this crap just mad b-cus she neva was president and she want a women to be president and might need to watch what she say because she makin her self look stupid and she really makin herself look racist

  94. lady E on March 14th, 2008

On Ferraro behalf that was a real ignorant thing to say!!! in our society today it is more HARD for a black man to make it then a white man… some feel as though a black person can be compared to a poor white person, with that being said…………OBAMA is the man to vote 4!! its time for CHANGE America!

  95. Mack on March 14th, 2008

Ferraro reflects that some elements of the Democratic party are a throwback to the original Democrats who espoused racism when Blacks were solidly with the party of Lincoln-the Republicans.

  96. chas-hsu on March 14th, 2008

    i agree w/Reign 100%…u can’t stop what God allows

  97. anonomous on March 14th, 2008

    shes racist

  98. Sista on March 14th, 2008

I agree and disagree, because I think people are voting for him because he is black and people have never seen a black man as president so many would like to see it happen in their lifetime (regardless of the outcome of it). That is why I agree with her. I disagree with her because It’s like say just because he’s black he’s winning and it’s hard for a white man to be president when that’s all we’ve had and they don’t want that really to change and obama is about change. I really got one thang to say “you go boy”.

  99. Sista on March 14th, 2008

I agree because people may just want to see a black president because we never thought that may be possible.

  100. Natricia Bibbs on March 14th, 2008

Every body is tripping on this woman’s comments, but what about Obama pastor comments, I don’t see nothing about his on the news it is like this if she something crazy the media blows it up but if something happens to him wow it is every where crazy and hypocritical

  101. T on March 14th, 2008

She may be right because i think even though America is racist in my opinion, they would probably prefer to have a Black man as president than a woman of any color. Nevertheless, that is her opinion but it is about time that an African American man has been given a fair chance, Thank you Lord!!!!!!

  102. Ken on March 14th, 2008

At the age of 40 this is not suprising. Usually when a canidate of African decent is involved in politics others try to find dirt to tar his or her rep but due to the fact Obama is a clean cut canidate and the right person not man for the job others have to find something else to smear him. With that said it’s amazing Ms. Geraldine Ferraro said Obama was lucky for being Black when usually it’s been pictured as being unlucky throughout history. Respect is no longer apart of politics whereas it’s never been given that people of African decent are smart, articulate and can be president of the U.S. if given the opportunity.

  103. Pam on March 15th, 2008

    Go Obama yes we Can

  104. Boris F on March 16th, 2008

Wake up America! time is come to change. today you have a chance to get a candidat who can bring the change America need for.

    all say “yes we can”

  105. jfffnn on March 17th, 2008

Her comment was a NEWSFLASH beyond belief;since when was it ever a advantage in poltics or most other fields for a Blackman ? Infact did anyone notice the news over the weekend that Sen.Obama is being castigated for words his Pastor spoke. This woman’s comments were just dead wrong at best and too be more accurate just plain old stupid.

  106. Natricia Bibbs on March 18th, 2008

Interesting most of the comments, that have been presented. Nobody is really talking about the Obama pastor a black man talking about white woman Now so you telling me that is okay for him to make the racially charged comments about Hilary and it is okay, but when a white woman makes truthful statement she is racist I don’t get it.

  107. Eric on March 18th, 2008

Natricia Bibbs……I was beginning to think I was the only one who felt that way. It appears to me that it’s a double standard being played here. We get all up in arms when Mrs Ferraro made a truthful comment, but we defend the black, angry preacher who not only spewed racist remarks from the pulpit, but cursed America….We can’t have it both ways people!

  108. latanya on March 19th, 2008

so you say if Obama wasnt black he wudnt be so influential

well if hillary wasnt white she wudnt be so influential to her white race also

born black and we are proud of him for he is doing wat alot of black wanna do

show white they are not the only persons that can be leader
we have stood in their shadow for far to long
    give us a chance now
WE NEED THE SOCIETY TO STOP BEING SO RACIST
THE COLOUR OF OUR SKIN DOESNT DEFINE WHO WE ARE

  109. latanya on March 19th, 2008

HILARY STANDS FOR CHANGE ( woman ruler)
OBAMA STANDS FOR CHANGE( black ruler)

    so why she hating
dont do that hilary you kno better than to say that
(remember if YOU WASNT WHITE OR YOU WASNT A WOMAN
alot of ur supporters wouldnt have supported you!)

    so weh yuh a say
leave that man and stop BADMIND
(some ppl jus cant tek losing!)

  110. Joanna on March 19th, 2008

She’s a hater, obvious her comments were racial and she, like many others, doesn’t want a black man running the country. Black skin is in so GET OVER IT RACIAL PEOPLE IN AMERICA!!!
