Obama’s Dream Team a Clinton Nightmare?

Posted March 10, 2008 – This weekend former President Bill Clinton talked up a Democratic “dream team” with his wife topping the ticket and Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) in the Vice Presidential spot.
I’m not sure that’s the same “team” Obama would consider as dreamy. When asked what he thought about Clinton’s re-assignment of his presidential run, he said, “Well, you know, I think it’s premature. You won’t see me as a vice presidential candidate. You know, I’m running for president.”
“We have won twice as many states as Senator Clinton and have a higher popular vote, and I think we can maintain our delegate count,” he added.
Since Obama’s Super Tuesday sweep, pundits, political watcher and actuarial scientist have wrangled over who can win the Democratic nomination. They have analyzed the wins and losses; configured future contest; and theorized on what to do about Michigan and Florida; with all scenarios concluding Obama maintaining the delegate lead.
Obama has recaptured his momentum winning the Wyoming Democratic caucuses Saturday with 61 percent of the vote to Clinton’s 38 percent, giving the freshman senator 13 caucus wins to Clinton’s 3.
Obama has generally outperformed Clinton in caucuses, because he’s organized a strong a strong ground operation and participation is often fueled by voters passion for a thier candidate.
So what about an Obama-Clinton ticket? Could that be a “dream team?”
I have two theories why the Clintons have started talking about sharing the ticket with the Illinois senator.
The first is to create a distraction for the media; the second is to imply to voters “a vote for Hillary” could be a vote for Obama.
Obama was quick to fire back, “no thanks.”
This “dream” theme began when Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) started saying, “I’ve had people say, ‘Well, I wish I could vote for both of you’. Well, that might be possible some day.” Suggesting folks cast their first vote for her during the primary.
Tuesday, when folks in Mississippi go to the polls, they should vote for the candidate they want to see as president, that’s how the process works.
There are an estimated 599 delegates left, nine state primaries and two territories who haven’t voiced their presidential pick, they can’t pick a Vice President, only the nominee can.
Voters don’t be distracted.

I want Senator Obama as president and I am not interested in a “dream team” with Hillary. they are both very strong personalities and a co-admin with the two of them would be disaster. Go Obama, Go
I would have to agree with lilbaby26. I think that it is really interesting that all of a sudden the Clintons want to have Obama on their ticket as V.P. They know they cannot win on just her vote alone, and I know that there are many Obama supporters who will not vote for her if she gets the ticket. This is simply a desperation mover on her part, but I still do not think that they would get many Obama supporters to vote for her even is he was running as V.P.; people want to see him on top of the ticket.

Pamela, what do you and the african community need a bomb to hit you on the top of your heads to wake up. Stop looking at color-look at the ties. I am half black and I know that there are other good black candidates out there- stop thinking this is the only man for us. Look at the ties, children!!!

Its nice to see a Women running for Commandor and Cheif but is she really what we want. We look at her cause of what her husband done that means nothing. Their not the same person they dont come from the same place.

Your description of Sen.Clinton is accurate being that for her too mention and Sen.Obama for V.P. is self-serving;However,what she really wants is too be President at any cost,up to and including asking Sen. Obama too be on the ticket with her.That in of itself is crazy since Sen. Obama at this moment is the frontrunner.I think it should be the other way around,Sen. Obama should be mentioning that he may choose her.
Hillary should thank her lucky stars if Barack puts her cynical, backsliding, _ itchy behind on the ticket as vice president. She has really shown her true self in this race. I agree with the young lady in Obama’s camp. “Hillary is a monster”

Come on people, we all know that Hillary and the rest of Americia had nothing but good to say about Sen. Obama until it became apparent that he was more than some fad that had no chance of winning the nomination, now all the hate had raised it ugly head and will keep thowing every negetive spin it can at him, but we the people(white,black,brown and all inbetween) will not be fooled for we can and we will have change this year. Senator Hillary Clinton, is a RACIST BIGOT, belittling Senator Barack Obama, saying that he not qualified to be President of the United, but she thinks he would be a great Vice-President. We remember that in order to be a candidate for Vice-President, one must ready to be President. This Racial Bigotry coming stright from Hillary Clinton, and there are members of the Black Caucus Leaders, who are complicit in a campaign of BIGOTRY against Senator Barack Obama. Racism is wrong, whether it come from a Republican or a Democrat. RACIAL BIGOTRY IS WRONG.
Obama should be named as President, because it’s time for a change and he’s the candidate to make it happen
You Obama supporters are so lost in the hype! He should be happy to get in the white house by any means. You’ll see in Novemeber if he’s the nominee how many people in those red states receive his change message.
The Dream Team should be Obama as president and Hillary as vice. Do you think she want to accept second. I don’t think so- So therefore, who-ever get the vote to run should pick the other to run with them.
