Edwards Endorses Obama

Posted May 14, 2008 – It looks like the former North Carolina senator John Edwards has made his presidential pick – and he’s decided it’s Sen. Barack Obama.
This endorsement is significant because Edwards will release 19 pledged delegates who could decide to follow the former presidential candidate’s lead. Edwards is seen as a strong advocate for the poor and working class. His endorsement could be the help Obama’s needs to increase his appeal and help him woo those voters.
Obama and Edwards are expected to appear this evening during a campaign event in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Just a reminder, Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich) told me Edwards would endorse the Illionis senator, he just didn’t know when.
He’s only endorsing him becasue Hillary doesn’t have a chance anymore…J Edwards didn’t have to wait this long, he should have done it a long time ago!!

I’m very please to hear that John Edwards has endorsed Sen.Obama, We all in need of a change. The Clintons had their Terms and Turnin office Sen. I started out with Hillary, but as time went by and I listen closely to her, (you’re right Simiyah) she did sound like a repulican among other things, as bashing Obama for no reason. These are some of the reasons I changed my mind. In my heart I knew John Edwards would endorse Obama.He was just waiting for the right time to do so.

But when I put ignorance aside and listened to each candidate it only made sense to go with Obama. And John probably did the same thing, came to his senses and went with what felt right in his heart. His delay is part of the political respect game which many felt Sen. Clinton deserves. There will be many more coming out to support Sen. Obama. Most feel she should have let go a long time ago. Wow! This has really made my day! I’m all about a Democratic President but Sen Clinton has me frowning at her. She is constantly try to demean Obama but she looks like a fool every time. I always liked Sen Edwards from the beginning. If he’s the Vice, we’ll have one dynamic Democratic team.

Although I am for Obama, I liked the way Senator Edwards spoke while he was campaigning. Regardless of his motive for chosing Obama, he’s with us now and that’s what counts. He would probably make a good VP.
Seeing J.Edward and B. Obama uniting with one another on stage was a beautiful sight. I, like many other Obama supporters; have a genuine concerns for Michelle & Barack Obama and the presidental contest aginst the Clinton’s, Clinton supporters, rupublicans and we cannot forget the media; BUT Obama, has once again shown America that he is ready to lead this country.
Don’t discount Senator Clinton from the race … She is still a strong force in this democratic presidential elect candidacy race! I am amazed at how very unsure and insecure some proclaimed Obama supporters are … the smell of fear is quite intense among you. CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT!!

I think Hillary shot herself in the foot. I think Obama and Hillary would have done well together (eventually on the same ticket)when this first started. But now that I’ve seen how devisive she can be and how she tried to tear him down. I really believe that Obama and Edwards would make a good team. I think she’s too far gone now for Barak to consider her as vice. She really showed her behind on this one. Most importantly, I am glad that Barak didn’t stoop down to Hillary’s level and has been more professional in his campaign.

I can’t see why folks don’t see the logic of disruption that Hilary’s delayed departure causes to Obama’s campaign! This still leaves her open for a 2012 bid. And don’t think that such a plan B is beyond the whole Clinton machine. Spill red wine on Obama’s shirt just as he makes his entrance to the ball and she departs so fresh and clean. I am happy that John Edward endosed Obama, we do not need the Clinton’s back in the white house they had their chance, this is a new day for new changes for all people of all races, gas prices are getting out of control and our soldier have been gone long enough, and we lose a soldier everyday just look at the news. I do believe that Edwards heard talk of him being a possible candidate for Vice President. So maybe he’s doing it for his own selfish reasons. But I still think the two together will bring about positive change. Hillary I running like a replican Obama has this in the bag and will be the running candidate against McCain. I’m happy to see John Edwards join forces with Obama. I agree with Cocoa, let’s get out and vote and make it happen. I’m on my job talking to my friends who are still confused. I can’t tell them who to vote for, but to vote. This is a good looking ticket and it will work for the good of us.
In the beginning, I thought that Hillary and Obama would make a great team, but after following her campaign and observing her divisive behavior, she may have ruined that opportunity. Also, while observing, I don’t think that Bill Clinton is prejudice. Hillary condones racist remarks and divisiveness. She looked good in the past, because of her husband. Now, through this campaign, her true colors have emerged. Hillary is no doubt very strong politically. What would be good for Hillary, right now, would be to help heal the Democratic Party. She can begin doing that by delivering inspiring speeches that will bring all voters together - including those so called “blue-collar white voters.”

I am so proud of my people who were initially for Hillary and switched to Barack (I mean that and I thank God for it with my heart). I’m just waiting (still) for some of our black elected officials to come over to the right side too. I can’t believe they just sat back and watched Hillary try to lynch the brother. It may be a long time before God gives us this chance again! Let’s not blow it!

Funny: Chris Matthews said the other day that the Obama campaign probably has a bunch of superdelegates in their back pocket, and they dole them out as needed. Edwards already knew last friday on MSNBC, when he said that he’d voted May 6th in N.C. for the same person that he was going to endorse. The timing, I agree, was impeccable.
I also agree with Brown Sugar… There’s now a string of revelations coming out about how Obama volunteers are facing blatant hostility from some whites. Ah the many faces of racism!
