Who’ll Be Obama’s No. 2?
By Pamela Gentry, Senior Political Producer
June 9, 2008 – This week will mark another page in history when Sen. Barack Obama embarks on the campaign trail as the only candidate running for the Democratic presidential nomination. But his newly earned status increases speculation of who’ll he’ll pick for the No. 2 spot on his ticket.
Some folks already are weighing in, but Obama, who isn’t tipping his hand, has appointed a three-member panel to bring him a list of candidates for consideration. The panel is made up of former head of Fannie Mae, James A. Johnson; the daughter of President John Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy; and former U.S. Deputy Attorney General Eric H. Holder.
But supporters of Clinton are wasting no time pushing for the New York senator to co-pilot the Democratic presidential ticket. Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-Calif.), the host of the secret meeting with Obama and Clinton last Friday, said on ABC’s “This Week” that she would like to see the “dream ticket,” with both Clinton and Obama, become a reality.
“Hillary Clinton is well known. Certainly, she had the popular vote in this election,” she said. “That is something, and that is something tremendous. Now, I believe the [vice-presidential] nomination is up to [Obama]. I can’t tell him what to do. Nobody else can tell him what to do. All I can say is I agree with [the Pennsylvania Gov.] Ed Rendell, that if you really want a winning ticket, this is it,” she said.
It’s doubtful anyone will influence the Illinois senator’s choice, or that he’ll make a hasty decision. Clinton waited 24 hours before acknowledging that Obama had captured the delegate lead, and only publicly conceded after party leaders exerted political pressure on her to do so.
But on Saturday, Clinton held her last political rally to thank her supporters and give Democratic Party exactly what it needed: a start down the path to party unity. “I endorse him and throw my full support behind him and I ask of you to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me. You’ll always find me on the front lines of democracy fighting for the future.”
Obama, who took the weekend off, released a statement following Clinton’s speech, saying, “Obviously, I am thrilled and honored to have Sen. Clinton’s support. But more than that, I honor her today for the valiant and historic campaign she has run. She shattered barriers on behalf of my daughters and women everywhere, who now know that there are no limits to their dreams. And she inspired millions with her strength, courage and unyielding commitment to the cause of working Americans.”
Speaking of those “working Americans,” Obama will return to the campaign trial today starting a two-week tour to discuss the economy. His first stop will be Raleigh, N.C. And there is no indication that addressing the running mate position is on the agenda at all.
While Obama works to woo Clinton supporters and White working-class voters over the next few months, his Web site is already on it. The site features a full page thanking Clinton for her support. It reads, “Thank You Sen. Clinton,” with her photograph placed in the center of the page along with a link for folks to write comments to show their appreciation for the former first lady.
Clinton’s Web site also thanks supporters when they sign on and offers the video of her farewell speech, but in red bold letters the message is clear, “Support Senator Obama today.”
But here are a few of the names being tossed around as Obama’s running mate in addition to Clinton; former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (S.D.); Sen. Jim Webb of Virginia; New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson; Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana; and Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

Good work President Obama, but remember in you choice a snake in the grass will always be a snake in the grass. Hillary will not make a good v. Pres. due to the fact she was only there to try and tear you down and jumped in the race at the last minute to show “her white supremacy.” I would choose anyone on earth besides Hillary Rodham Clinton. I just don’t trust her and Bill any more. Just think before you leap into something that will affect America for 4/8 years.
Dang it I really wanted Clinto to win…its something bout that Obama that ain’t right and we will find out soon what he is alllll about. He can’t fool me but he is gonna trick the heck out of this country. I have scrolled down to the bottom of this page for relief and I have found the book by the Levert’s and I will choose that for my book club book read of the month
Congratulations Senator Obama. Take your time in choosing a VP. It is crucial that you choose the most complete Democratic partner as possible. But I have all of the confidence in the world in your decision. You are a tremendous American and whatever you decide with out a doubt will be the correct choice. OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT.
OMG… I just don’t know what to think
Obama should select Clinton for the VP. That would guarantee all the Clinton supporters would definately vote for Obama. It would be a historic ticket, the first black president and woman for a VP, it doesn’t get better than that. If you check the stats, Hillary got the popular vote, therfore choosing her is a guaranteed win against McCain. Good luck Sen. Obama, You deserve to win the top job in America.
Good Job Senator!
Please make Hillary your last possible choice for vice-president (list her right below Al Sharpton). You don’t need Bill looking over your shoulders. Take your time making this very important selection. You have have the power to win without her on your ticket!!!
If he doesn’t choose Hillary, he’s a fool. Hillary has it all and more. He’ll find himself in a boat without a paddle without Hillary.
First of all, I am so excited & proud of my “new President Obama!” He is the best thing that has happened to this country in a long time. Secondly, I think John Edwards is the best choice for VP.
John Edwards is my choice , too!
It’s funny how people see what they want to see thundakatt!!! If anything Hillary has me comcerned look at all the mud slinging she has done for no reason. None was slung her way but she attacked anyway. The comment about Robert Kennady’s assassanation really has me concerned. We all know what she ment by that. She is counting on her working class(racist) white americans to hopefully take Obama out. That’s why she said the race ain’t over and didn’t even want to conced it. If there is anyone I don’t trust it’s her. She voted for this senseless war, now wants to act like she wants it over. People only pay attention to what they want to hear so they can feel right about a bad decision. No Hillary as VP trust me her agenda is to be president by any means and we just may see Bill standing there with the smoking gun!!! Thundakatt ever noticed how Obama’s speeches are from the heart not a note card in front of him? Go OBAMA we need you now more then ever and people needs to let the Hillary notion go and back Obama, the way I see it how much worse can he do than Bush thundakatt, ever thought of that???
If he were to choose Hillary it would amount to him caving in and not be a dream ticket at all. No one wants Bill Clinton back in the White House. Everyone I know is tired of the Bushes and the Clintons in the White House. It is time to move on. The dream ticket would be Obama and General Colin Powell. It won’t happen but I expect to see him in Obama’s cabinet. Obama’s running mate will be either a Caucasian male with military connections or a woman. He needs to connect with Caucasian women voters and either of these will do it for him. The African American comunity must also support him unconditionally. He is one of us. Just as they support each other without hesitation, so must we. It is Barack Obama for President all the way.
Soon I hope, I need someone to go with me….He doesn’t need to pick her, but if he does it’ll be easier I guess, I would just hate to see his vision foiled by someone who seems more concerned with her own self-interest than the well-being of the country…John Cocaine can’t hold a candle to Barak Obombin’em! If it was up to me, I’d pull Hillary on if she took a blood oath to never ever break rank no matter what, but in my gut, I know she’ll go for self before she goes all out for the greater good. She could give a rats ass about the Democratic Party, she only sees that as what in essence it really is, a platform to garner political clout, a bohemian body-politic for leftwing liberals to politically correct to ever change one iota of the status quo…Barak, appealing and charsimatic as he is, isn’t going to shake the tree very hard, just enough to save face, his symbolic representation is where the power really is, having a Brown brother reach the highest public office of a country that owes its everything to the blood and sweat of the children of the diaspora. Whether he realizes it or not, he’s a puppet of a vintriliquist called the State propagating a avalon called democracy, in a country that’s a Republic. There’s God’s will and then there’s man’s, and the latter yields to the former, even though it sometimes takes ages for the tables to turn. Truth of the matter is, Race is a factor of our reality, whether it’s shrouded in the garbled jargon of demographic double-speak, it is what it is, the blacker the berry the harder to rouse. But like jazz and prestidigitation we have to improvise and use the deception of appearance to our advantage, cause the fact of the matter is it was sexism and age discrimination as much as the providence of timing that allowed Barak the wiggle room to stake his claim…He saw Hillary and Edwards, along with Mccain and the repelican party gearing up for the run off and probably said to himself, “I can take these guys!” He wouldn’t have had a chance againgst Clinton in his hey-day or Regan for that matter….it’s Creative Fate that has placed him at the threshold of the mantle…hopefully he’ll allow the Almighty to continue to guide him to make his tenure more meaningful and never forget who supported him before the delgates and super delegates decided to switch sides so America could have a new face for it’s business as usual modus operandi ie acculturation through MTV, Burger King and Weapons of Mass Media. After all, perish the thought, but if something was to happen to him, making him a martyr, neither Bill Richardson and Dodd, nor Hillary or whoever, will be in the streets rioting in a fit of rage, it’ll be us!
Thanks for taking the challenge to lead this country I am praying for you and your family. I know you will make the right decision on your running mate.
Just keep the faith if the Father as brought you this far He will not leave you. Just remember you are not alone we all stand with you.
Obama needs to pick Clinton as VP in order to really win this thing!
So glad for Senator (Obama)…congrat!! I believe that he will make a great Pres, and also this will be one for the history book…we as blacks should never limit ourselfs to doing anything that we feel we are capible of doing. I am so happy and proud of his accomplishments, as for a running mate I agree that he should have John Edwards..Some thing that Hilliary said are just unforgivable and she can’t be trusted. I admired Bill when he was Pres….but things have changed..He can do this without a Clinton looking over his shoulder waiting for him to make a mistake!!!
Mr Obama,
Congratulations on tis victory. As far as you picking a Vice-President, take it to Jesus. He has all the answers. Go to god in Jesus name and ask hum for direction and guidance, he will give it to you. I am a witness, I am saved, sacctified and Holy Ghost Filled..Thank you JESUS, if you get it right with him right now, you’ll have no worries. Get baptised or re-baptised in the nmae of JESUS for the remissions of your sins, and then let JESUS take it over from there. Trust me he won’t fail you. You are definitely in my prayers and my church family’s prayers. Remeber the key is to pray to be re-born again of the water and the spirit. I can’t lie to you because God will strike me down right now as I type these words. I love you and so does JESUS. He’s waiting for you….Be encouraged….God Bless…Matthew 18:19-20/John 16:23 ; Read those scriptures…
HRC would not be a good pick. How many times does she have prove that she is not a TEAM PLAYER. Many of you who think she would be a good pick don,t know the Clintons (History). The so called dream team would be an all out NIGHT MARE.
I am proud of Obama, but the decision is a hard one. I think that Hillary will help him win the election because of the popular vote, but i think that she played dirty politics against Obama. I pray that Obama makes the right decision. I just hope that the economy changes soon!
Mr. Obama has to take his time on this one ! Whomever he chooses is ever so important and must be able to assume the reins if necessary .
I feel that if Obama needs to pick Clinton to win then he does not deserve to be the leader of this nation. I too have had enough of Clinton. Do it on you own merit or dont do it at all. Leave the Clintons in the past and show us you deserve to be our leader.
Obama will kill us all hes not even a christian.. This is going to be bad.
My family loves you Obama. I wish you the best and I am praying for you. I want you to take your time finding a VP but I can’t wait to find out who it will be. CHARLOTTE NC FOR OBAMA!
Me personally, is proud of both Barack & Hillary’s success of running.. two minorities running for President.. WOW! That’s history in itself. Now CONGRATS to OBAMA! WOOHOO! Me and my friend thing the best thing to happen would b for Obama to put Hillary on the ticket as VP and Obama stay in office for 2 terms (8 years) then… Hillary runs for president again and wins and puts Obama on the ticket as VP and stays in office for 2 terms.. that give America 16 years of GREAT MINORITY SUCCESS! And being a black woman, I would be the proudest of them both and America!
Anybody but Hillary Clinton. She is a snake in the grass. I can’t believe what “thundakat” said; if there is someone you can’t trust you know it’s Bill and Hillary. She has already shown us her evil nature.
Either Webb, Edwards, or Richardson will be the best candidate.
Tara
WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE WHETHER HE IS CHRISTIAN OR NOT.STOP THE RELIGIOUS BIGOTRY.
I am extremely happy that sen obama won. I think he will make a wonderful president, it is time for a change especially in the white house. As for him choosing his vp I do not feel that he should be pressured into choosing Hillary Clinton. I feel Obama can win over her voters without putting her on the ticket. Personally I am for John Edwards, Obama and him seem to be on the same page and have good chemistry together. (As for TARA it seems like you do not know your facts girl because if you did you would know that Obama is not a muslim he is a practicing christian and the only person who is going to kill us all are ignorant voters like yourself who do not chose the best candidate because they did not do their homework!)
i think change will benefit the world an sen Obama can make that change.
Congratulations O.
Whatever you do, DO NOT pick Mrs. Clinton.
You are her ticket to the Oval Office, not the other way around. They are trying everything possible. She slung mud just for that office and she’ll kiss a… for that office and she’ll try to make you think you need her just for that office. It’s all about that office for her. She is a snake. The same snake who took up the healthcare ball, dropped it like a ton of bricks and acted like nothing ever happened. But something did happen…she failed. She would have failed as president and she would fail as vice president. You stand your ground as a man should. Stay true to your beliefs as a man should. Believe first in yourself. You seem good. Don’t let them change you.
Tara,Tara are you forgetting how many people George has killed already with this senseless war, not to mention McCaine and Clinton both voted for it and Obama did not? Oh yeah he’s such a murderer…..whatever open you fricken eyes goofball and see who’s killing who. I am sick of you uneducated bigots comments, you will find any reason to hate on a black man even if it ain’t true!!! You can’t find one thing in any of his speeches that depict him to be a violent man, find something else to say instead of that ignorant stuff.
I hope if Hillary is offered the position she turns it down. Obama will not win without her or her supporters period.
It’s funny how Pamela removes any post where someone is not praising her candidate…so sad
Tara, You are stupid and I don’t mean that in a good way. Can you read? If so, please educate yourself before you let anything else come out of your face!!! People like you make me froggie
Hillary used some low-class stuff like the “kitchen sink” and “scorched earth” tactics. She also couldn’t take the high road. However I really feel that she would have picked him for vp if she won. He needs to think about that. She would not have left him out in the cold.
I READ A LOT OF THE COMMENTS ON LINE…AND I AM SHOCK HOW STUPID PEOPLE TALK…OBAMA IS NOT A CHRISTIAN HOW CRAZY…SOEMTHING WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE….OR YOU A CHRISTIAN FOR SAYING SOMETHING LIKE THAT….I HOPE AND PRAY HE DONT PICK HILLARY CLINTON FOR A RUNNING MATE AND HER HUSBAND WHO SHOWED US THEY DONT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE THEY HAVE USE FOR YEAR TO GET WHERE THE OR…THEY NEED OUR VOTE..I WILL NEVER TRUTH EITHER ONE OF THEM AGAIN AND PRAY OBAMA WILL THINK LONG AND HARD AND NEVER PICK HER FOR HIS VP..I HOPE HE TAKES HIS TIME AND PICK SOMEONE THAT IS GOOD FOR HIM AND THIS COUNTRY..

Hilary shouldnot be considered as Vice President of the United States. She strikes me as a pretensive individual who will stop at anything to gain power. I applaud her for capturing the popular vote but it is time for us to move on from there. A woman as VP, preferably white is a great choice but please exclude Hilary Clinton.
Congratulations SENATOR OBAMA!!!
You have been successful in reaching a milestone in history, so I feel confident you will make a wise selection in choosing a Vice-President.
WE PRAY FOR WISDOM ONLY GOD CAN GIVE THROUGH OUT THIS ELECTION PROCESS. LET GOD LEAD YOU BUT, MOST OF ALL GET IN A CHURCH YOU NEED A COVERING!!!!
FYI, techically Hillary did not win the popular vote, because they did not factor in the caucas states in the count…Hillary’s supporter keep talking about Obama cannot win without Hillary supports, why is that because most of you won’t vote for a black man, you would sacrifice yourself and vote for McCain instead of voting for a black man..(it’s just shameful)..remember this with or without Hillary Barack Obama will be the next President of the United States of America..I dont trust Hillary..
congradulations obama you will win because you are a winner rememeber keep god first he has your answers leave the clintons alone if you need a woman for vice pres that bad choose oprah because she will be a better vice pres then hilliary clinton at least she will have your back
history has been made you are the democrat nominee and will be the pres of USA
Mrs E
michigan
It just amazes me so that the majority of my black people are so against the Clintons….When there wasnt a black person that didnt love the Clintons years ago when they were in office….it really amazes me, how black folks have really taken a turn…..My people this was only a competition, they are in the same Party…Our party will be unified, and Obama will need to put Hillary on the ticket…Bottom line, there is no getting around that,….I have heard some blacks say that if she is on the ticket I will not go vote in the general election,,,,How dumb can one be??? They dont know about politics, Because at the end of the day I dont care who is up against McCain, WE MUST HAVE A DEMOCRAT IN OFFICE, BOTTOM LINE, it doesnt matter….WE cant get so personal…Vote Democrat!!!
One more thing Tara all of that talk is played out. What I’ve found out is that most of you who are saying Barack is not a Christian dont know the first thing about Christianity, it not just saying that you are it is living it daily. It’s about love, loving everyone no matter what color they are..and I see most of yall good ole southern baptist cannot see past Obama’s color. Now tell me where is the Christ in that..check to see if yall are thorns amoung wheat.
OBAMA AND FAMILY IF GOD BROUGHT YOU TO IT.HE WILL BRING YOU TROUGH IT GOD BLESS YOU AND FAMILY.
To Dana,
Whom God has Blessed, No man can curse. Remeber that!
If Hillary would have won she would have not even thought about having Obama as VP. Why should he choose her? To secure a win in the November Election? I say kick her to the curb. If she won no one would’ve even brought up Obama’s name as VP. Just let him run his campaign how he wants. SIMPLE AS THAT!
Clint, black people are loving and open people we will invite and accept anyone into our family until they show us their true color. Now that is what happen with the Clintons, the way Bill and Hillary attack Barack was not fair..they treated him as if we were still entering through backdoor, and he was stepping out of line..as if he should have known his place and color..that is why all the so call working (racist) class voted for Hillary and now being ignorant plans to vote for McCain. I think the Clinton showed us their true color..they underestimated the power of black..
Please continue to pray for Senator Obama and his family’s protection I truly believe the devil is working behind the scene to try and get r1d of the Senator. Predijuce is still in the land. Please do not be ignorant to the devil’s devices.
Be wise as serpents but harmless as a dove.
A Change is about to come. I can feel it. Congrats on you Obama for winning the nomination. As for choosing a VP, just take your time don’t right it. I pray you will make the right decision. Personally I go for John Edwards but if you choose Clinton, I hope you know what you are getting yourself into and I hope you make the right decision. Obama 08′
In my opinion I think Obama should take his time choosing the vice president, he has plenty of time to choose, and i’m pretty shore who ever the vise president might be it would be the right one for the job. In my opinion I would like to see Caroline Kennedy to be vice president. After all she is well known she definitelty has a political back ground it would be like the perfect match for the job!
Summa, I didnt say black people were not loving, but we must understand that this was a competition, and they all slung dirt, mud and everything else, Obama’s camp did it as well, that’s how you play the game, this is a contest to see who can make it to the top…..But it is our job to not take it so personal because at the end of the day, blood is thicker than water, they are true democrats, as we should be….
Clinton you said it right Obama’s camp slung dirt..but the Clinton’s themselves slung the dirt at Obama…I don’t think you have to tell Obama’s supports to be a true democrat, we would have voted for Clinton if she had won..but I dont think most of Hillary support will do that for Obama..End.
This is a wonderful time for the US. We may finally have a person in the White House that is truly for ALL Americans. The Democrats need to wake up. Mr. Obama won so, ALL you Clinton followers do the right thing. How ignorant to say if she’s not the VP they will not voting are voting for McBush. It is his choice who will be his VP stop trying to bulldoze her into the position. It’s not a good thing to do. She have already made herself look bad. She lost this for herself. GROW UP ALL YOU CLINTON SUPPORTERS HE IS A DEMOCRAT AND WE NEED DEMOS BACK IN THE WHITE HOUSE.
I think he should take a look at Sen Joe Biden for VP, and certainly pick Dr. Susan Rice as National Security Advisor. She’s like the democratic version of Dr. C. Rice (current Sec of State & past National Security Advisor). His cabinet selection will be interesting to say the least.
Well I’m incline to agree with the earlier comment once a sn**e, alway, and also the choice for clinton as running mate, would be too risky, what i see is in this country im not speaking about any other country only this on, cuz people think that since other countries has female leader that it is time for this once, american female are more corrupt that any other female on planet earth,by design only, sure one day this country may experience a female leader, except for now us guys still have a chance to strenghten our marriages and unions of promise with our mates and god bless america
Ladygwen you’re so ignorant, if you don’t know politics, don’t comment. It’s sad you see her as “a snake in the grass”,especially you being a woman, (if you are a woman). This was not a racial issue, not even a sex issue, it was about good candidates of all sexes and races running for a spot in the presidency. Clinton, would definitely be the best VP that Obama needs to be the supreme presidential team, a good man and by his side, a good woman who knows the in’s and out’s of the presidency!
I am so sorry, but everyone fails to realize that Clinton was so negative on Obama, and now Clinton supporters want her to VP. Why would Obama want Clinton to be his second hand as VP, when her only focus was to tear him down?
Obama DOESN’T NEED CLINTON TO WIN, you will be a big ass hipocrit if you supported Clinton and you was to vote for Cain.
You know my mother always told me, never talk down on someone because in the end you never know who you will need.
First of all to Tara, you are a freakin idiot! Enough said! As for Clint, it was not just a competition. Hillary made it into a war. Obama held back for a long time before he put his dukes up and fired back. I pray to God he is not considering her as a V.P. And no, we did not change our minds about the clintons, they changed it for us. Do you not recall the comments Bill Clinton made when Obama won Iowa? And the comments Hillary continued to make about Barack? I was not sure who I was going to vote for in the beginning but when I saw what kind of campaign she was running, I quickly made my decision. You need to shut your face!!!!!
i truly think that Obama will when because he is truthful, smart, and he has been faithful throughout the election but Hillary Clinton has not she has been unfaithful and raises towards obama beause for one he is black and because he is winning the election, obama i have made my decision im voting for you.
Dana you are a hater, Clinton wants to be president so bad there is no way she would turn it down. You need to pray that he even offers it to her.
Tara you and that Dana chick are on some form of drugs…seek help before it’s to late.
I think it’s funny how a lot of people are saying that Hillary was using “dirty politics” to win the nomination. If you’ve ever really paid attention to politics you would know that the game is a dirty one! While I do support OBAMA I support him for the issues he stands for and not the color of his skin! Yes OBAMA is a black man but at the same time he could have been a black man that did not look out for our interest. Remember he is running for the President of the United States of America not just Black America. As far as the VP I think he needs Hillary to get her supports on his side. If you saw her speak when she conceded; when she spoke about Obama some of the people were rolling there eyes and had made up there minds that if she’s not on the ticket there not voting for OBAMA! I like John Edwards and I think he would be a great VP but we need the party to be united and I feel that would happen is if Hillary is the nominee for VP. The most important thing is to VOTE!!! Because I do not want other 4 years with Republicans!!
People, History is being made as we speak, Like it or not, Obama and Clinton have ran a good race. Obama will make HISTORY as the first African American President, Hillary will make History as the first Female V. President. This ticket together will make History. Like it or not. They need each other, one ticket one win.
I pray that God reveal all hidden wrongful doing of man!! Let us pray for Obama and his family. No one can say if this man believes in God or not. I pray that he does have some kind of spiritual connection with the most high, as well as, everyone else that has commented on Sen.Obama. Be careful or may I say mindful of the things that you say out of your mouth because it determines your character. There’s power in prayer and we must start to utilize it in times such as these. I’m a black women who’s very proud of his accomplishment and how he has shown other black men and women through Christ all things are possible and understand that they can do the same and if he does not win he’s still a winner in my book.
Choosing Hillary would truly show a sign of weakness and a person whom could not stand pressure. I know Obama is under fire being pressed to elect the Clintons for VP. It will be a very poor decision. Once a snake always a snake. She will bite the hand off that fed her.
You were chosen by GOD Obama. Do not take this opportunity and blow it by going with Hilliary.
Having her as VP would be dangerous for you.
She wants the seat so bad, she may have you bumped off if she is next in line. She has shown us the other side of her.
SENATOR OBAMA, I SUPPORT YOU 200%… YOU HAVE OVERCAME MANY OBSTACLES SO FAR, BUT MANY MORE LIE AHEAD…KEEP DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING AND MAKE THIS COUNTRY THE COUNTRY IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE ONCE AGAIN…THE CLINTON’S HAVE SEEMED TO BE ONE THE SAME PAGE AS THE BUSH’S(SO TO SPEAK)… I DON’T KNOW HOW TRUE THIS MAY BE, BUT I HEARD A RUMOR THAT WHEN BILL BEAT GEORGE FOR PRESIDENT GEORGE WOULD’NT SHAKE HIS HAND AND CONGRATULATE HIM(I WAS’NT INTO POLITICS THEN LIKE I AM NOW SO BEAR WITH ME).. GEORGE ALLEGEDLY SAID “I THANK THOSE THAT SUPPORTED ME AND TO THOSE THAT DID’NT YOU WILL REMEMBER MY NAME” EVERYTIME YOU GO FILL UP, WHO’S NAME DO YOU THINK OF? THERE’S NO REASON FUEL PRICES SHOULD BE LIKE THEY ARE!!! SOMEBODY’S JUST GREEDY… AND IF WE STOP THIS, THE BUSH FAMILY WILL NOT BE THE RICHEST FAMILY ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET!!! SORRY PRESCOTT BUSH…
I think Hillary will be a great VP. I can’t think of anyone else he should choose and John Edwards has already said he does not want to be VP. Politics IS a dirty game and not for the weak or easily intimidated. Hillary is tough and she’s no punk b. If she was the VP, her and Obama would rarely be together anyway, as you hardly ever see the President and VP together for security reasons. This is business people, not always personal where these political issues are concerned and if Obama wants to win, he needs a strong VP, like Hillary…
President Obama, The first thing he should do is pray and ask God to help make the right decision about selecting his right hand person. If he does it on his own, there will be more chaos in this country. We are in a critical state of being on this earth. God has to be included in everything that we do and everything important decision reguarding our lives. America, from the beginning God has Blessed America, It is time for America to Bless God and he will turn this bad situation that America is in for our Good and we will make it.
Hillary is dirty…If Obama chooses her, he will always have to watch his back. He should not be forced to choose her as VP. And for all of her supporters who said they wouldnt choose Obama, they are ignorant because if they choose McCain our country will continue to go on this downward slope. Dont be fooled Obama.
ANYBODY BT HILARY
Is Condoleeza Rice a democrat? If she is choose her. Not Hilary. Mr Obama needs to use preservation strategy on this one, if you no what I mean.
I really want to know why there are so many people drinking from the cup of bitterness and hate when Hillary Clinton name is mention. I think also that Bill Clinton has a lot on his plate that will keep him busy the man has a lot of charities that he is working with. People lets not be foolish there are 17 million people votes out here mind included that is a lot of votes that can go to John McCain.Stop the hate and lets get down to business. As someone stated already he can pick Al Sharpton Be careful who you hate this can come back to hurt all of us.
I think Obama should make Hillary his number 2, because they could benefit from eachother. I think they are a lot alike and that is why they constantly butt heads. It could be an equal opportunity for both of them if this happens. I think Obama should consider all possible options and not let anyone bias play into his dicision.
WE the people of the Democratic Party voted for SENATOR OBAMA to present us has our 2008 Presidential candidate because we believe that he is the anointed true new visionary of equal positive change for our United States of America. Therefore, we should not doubt his intelligence, HE WILL NOT select Hillary Clinton for the VP spot. President Barack Obama is the New Visionary of the USA.
Another reason why Obama shouldn’t pick Hillary as VP: He would always have to live in the shadow of a FORMER PRESIDENT! No other President has ever had to do that! Bill Clinton was a problem for Hillary, so you know he’d be a problem for Obama. Everything would be all about the Clintons. Whenever Obama attempted to make decisions, changes and policies the media would always be trying to figure out how much of a role Bill played–and these are only the mild conflicts that he’ll bring. An Obama presidency should rely on his merits alone.
I know that the task of picking a VP is going to be hard. I stand by whatever choice you make. I voted for you not because you are black like me but because I fell that you offer the best change for this contry. I feel that Hillary may have her on agenda but you can’t look over the fact of what she brings to the table. A lot of Black men and women voted for her. I belive that you can can win without her. But if you where to put her on the ticket I beleve that it would be an an unbettable ticket. If she is your VP make sure you keep her busy becaue like other I feel that she has her own agenda. Give her the task of the health care bill. Remember even her own husband did that. That should keep her busy for a while. I don’t like it but she would almost certainly put you in the White House if she was on the ticket over 17 millon votes can’t be discarded. I belive that if she had won the nomination she would have put you on the ticket because she could not win without you and the Clintons want to win. First get in the White house then decide what to you are going to do with Hill and Bill. Remember JKF put Johnson on his ticket because he wanted to win. If you don’t win the White House you can’t change anything. My vote give her whatever she wants and win this thing. We can’t let another Republican steal this away from us. If you don’t believe they can steal it look at the last two elections
He can choose whom ever he wants. Hilary would not have chosen him if it were the other way around. If he chooses her all she will do is try to Boss him around and get mad when he doesn’t listen to her.
Better vote Democrat for the general election. For those who vote Republican - big idiots especially those who voted for Bush. The Republicans are causing all this inflation for us all.
President Obama - will work to make the economy better for us all and not for Republicians to get rich from the high oil prices. Since Bush has been in office it has been TERRIBLE for us all.
I Agree with Tanya.
THIS IS MY OPINION SO PLEASE DONT NO ONE HERE TAKE THIS THE WRONG , BUT I THINK HILLARY WOULD MAKE A GOOD VP , WHEN YOU STOP TO LOOK AT IT HILLARY DID WHAT MOST WOULD HAVE DONE WHEN RUNNING FOR SOMETHING , I LOVED HER DONT QUIT ATTITUDE WE ALL SHOULD HAVE THAT IN OUR EVERYDAY LIFE ,,THIS IS MY OPINION AND ITS NOT FOR NO ONE TO AGREE WITH OR DISAGREE ,ALL I KNOW IS HILLARY SUPPORTS MAYBE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE VOTING FOR MCCAIN ,TIME ARE HARD NOW DAYS BECAUSE OF THE FAIURE BUSH HAVE CAUSED THIS COUNTRY , IF YOU VOTE FOR MCCAIN MAKE SURE YOU ARE VOTING FOR THIS GUY BECAUSE YOU LIKE HIS VEIWS ,PLEASE DONT VOTE FOR MCCAIN JUST BECAUSE OBAMA IS MIXED RACE.WE CANT AFFORD 4 MORE YEAR OF BUSH PLANS.
Please select someone else other than Hilary. She likely wants a Supreme Court appointment or Attorney General spot anyway. But VP, bad idea. I don’t trust her especially after her remark about Ted Kennedy, and what happened. Further, her baggage of Bill leaves no doubt that the 2 feel they are entitled and want the Clinton machine to remain intact. Besides she began her platform on her experience, not change and different ways to solve Washington problems. Besides, I doubt she would be satisfied with the ceremonial role of VP. Hilary would want equal partnership and add to that Bill, my goodness, that looks like conflict and confusion.
Positive thinking is all well and good but let’s not count the chickens before they hatch,President Obama has not happened yet.
as far as Hillary being V.P. I thought Obama was for change,Hillary is not change, she is part of the past. Remember bush41,Clinton,Bush43 ? She represents the past and Obama should not be bullied and/or blackmailed into choosing her.
I think that Hillary might be a good VP choice if that was the role she wanted to play, but it isn’t, so I think that she should be the last choice. It comes down to whether he wants a greater chance to get in the White House or if when he’s in he wants to really change. The Clintons are old news and in the past and thats where they need to stay!! And if any of you Democrats are even entertaining the idea of voting for McCain then you are NOT TRUE DEMOCRATS. Do your research, If MCCain gets in it will be another 4 years of Bush policies. Also, if you want to learn about his Decietful past go to PerezHilton.com and read about his shady past!!!
Congrats Sen. Obama. Sen. Clinton has shown us she cannot be trusted. Someone told Bill he was black and he made the mistake of beleiving it, so he felt he could say whatever came to his mind and it would be okay. They both have made comments that the McCann camp will no doubt use and use often if Hillary is on the democratic ticket. I can hear it now, “Obama’s own running mate feels he is not capable of running this country.” “He does not have the experience in foreign policy.” “He’s an elitest and not in touch with working folks.” It will be the ammo the republicans need if Hillary is on the ticket. Keep her in the senate and let her work her magic for the folks who voted her there. Sen. John Edwards is a much better choice in my opinion, but I have faith in Sen. Obama to choose the right person to be his running mate. May God bless and keep you Sen. Obama and your family. We as a country, a people, as democrats need to pull together and support Sen. Obama and encourage those who have doubt to open their minds to what he can do to change this country. We need to fix what has been ruined in the last eight years and Sen. Obama is the man who can do it. Remember, divided we fall, united we rise. God bless you all.
I hope he does not pic Hillary Clinton because she will help him win the big states she is rude disrespectful and mean and will bring the party down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brittany
Do you really believe gossip fom a entertainment gossip website ? If so I have some real nice bridges you may be intereted in purchasing. If there was real dirt on Sen. Obama it would have been out by now being Hillary was/is so desperate.
I leave it at this OBAMA “08″… And lord knows I hope he doesn’t pick Hiliary as vice President after what she has done.
You guys have to read best Urban novel around today the book caled Passionate Misfortunes by Stacey Harris. Check it out at Amazon.com or Barnes and Nobles. You Will not be asble to put it down.
In the bible it’s said a man of color will become a president (not in those exact words). But Obama has conquered all the slandering, hatred, brushed the dirt off his shoulders and kept moving. I’m proud of him, i’m thankful for all the white ppl who overlooked his skin color and saw the vision of a better america. He will become President, like it or not.
Mr OBAMA!Congrats!!!!You made it.
This is your time and thanks for being smart and being African-American…
I love your speeches and we are all ready for the change.John Edwards will be a good VP.I trust you anyway for your choice…Take your time.We all stand behind you.
Coup de chapeau et merci!
God bless!
I think that Obama will be the best for the U.S I live in Canada and i know wish i was an American i think that John Edwards would mack a good VP becouse he look like he know that obama is gonna chang America. “Oui on peux” Yes we can
History was bound to be made, and that’s for sure. many of you are trusting the brother. That needed to be. Your comments and suggestions are saying otherwise. Hillary will not be the right choice, nor the wrong one for that matter. She will be the just choice. Leave the hate aside, the sad spoken words, the bickering and the likes. Think wide and deep and each and every one of you will discover something you have not considered yet. By the way thanks for the prayers for that man. He need every single one of them. May God hear you. Love y’all
I KNOW THAT SENATOR CLINTON WOULD MAKE A WONDERFUL VP, OBAMA WOULDN’T HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT WITH HILLARY WORKING WITH HIM, SIDE BY SIDE FOR THE TWO BEST DEM.THE TICKET GONNA READ, PRESIDENT OBAMA AND VICE-PRESIDENT CLINTON, THE WORLD HAVE TRUELY OVER COME THEN. THIS WOULD BE AN EXCITING DAY TO REMEMBER! I’M ALL FOR IT.
Get another white woman. She will be a excellent
detour from the Clinton Machine, in 08. If Obama would get another white woman that would appeal to 1/2 of the 18,000,000 woman who voted for Hill.
I want to comment and get right to the point of it. I believe if Obama picks Sen. Clinton, that our government will Kill Obama sure as hell. I believe that there are a lot of people who would rather see Sen. Clinton be the first female president, than to have Obama at the helm. This is just my opinion as I see it.
I think it is about time for Change! This is history in the making. If someone would have told me in my life time there would be a black man that would be a good candidate to run for the President of the United States I wouldn’t have believed it. I can truly say I now understand the true meaning of “the first shall be last & the last shall be first”! Be blessed in Jesus name.
Pastor RJ
were is my comment?????
Why do so many think that if Obama chooses Hillary, her 17 million voters are automatically going to come over and vote for Obama. There are some ‘true’ haters of Obama for different reasons…some think he is a liar (Trinity church for 20 yrs without knowing about his pastor controversy?), some think he’s a male chauvinist, some won’t vote for Obama cause he’s black, some believes he’s a Muslim, and some believe he’s unpatriotic. My point is, it doesn’t matter if he chooses her or not. Those that are going to vote for Obama and/or Democrat this year will do so regardless. Choosing Hillary is the wrong move. How can some of you question Obama’s strategy. Most black folk didn’t even believe he could win until the WHITE folk voted him the winner in Iowa. Obama has run his campaign “out of the box” by traditional political standards. This is not just a political campaign, this is a MOVEMENT! The Obama Nation is not interested in choosing Hillary to add some votes and cool stubborn heads. If I’m understaning his campaign’s objective and what he says he wants to do, this is about real change. Changing the electoral map, changing the way politicians campaign, changing the the Washington works. Clinton doesn’t represent this. Whomever he chooses, I will follow his lead. How can you question his decisions, HE BEAT THE CLINTONS! Choose a person whom is right in your heart and go with that!
obama, don’t worrier about the pass just focus on the present. yes!! it’s true that hillary said some harsh things, go forward.
hillary: you are a mess, you really showed your true colors. but i’m not mad at you. i understand that you wanted this very badly, but you better be careful on how to talk to gods christians.
obama, pray to GOD alot so that some white amercians willnot take you from your focus. i feel that hillary would be a good VP. work together. now is the time to really show others how this country should be runned.
I am sick an tried of all this Hillary BS… the “white working class” , “the school drop outs”, the “old white women”. The bottom line is…. Mrs. Hillary Clinton showed her TRUE COLORS. The fact that congratulations to Obama came too late and with no RESPECT, the idea that “this is her moment”. The idea of her thinking ” IT IS HER BIRTH RIGHT TO BECOME PRESIDENT”. I don’t think America or the rest of the world agreed with that thought. Who in their right mind would want nearly a fourth of a century with BUSH…..Clinton…Bush…Clinton????. Hillary is very different from Bill, it’s all about her…she think the world revolve around her. John Edwards would be a great choice for VP.
Sen……ooops, I mean future President Obama, please be very careful, watchful and prayerful in all matters concerning this race for the “oval office”. I can only voice my concerns and when I think of the “White Water” scandal and all the people who were involved (or associated with those who were), it sends chills up my spine…..many, many died under circumstances that don’t seem right (alot of auto accidents and suicides), makes you wanna say (as Arsenio used to)”…ummm”. Your 1st and most important task ahead is to stay ALIVE…..I believe that some (people) would be willing to do anything to assure that a VP (hopeful) be next in line for President……they may get their wish after all, even if not elected by the “party” as the delegate…………….get my drift? I’m praying for you, as well as all involved (republicans included) as who ever wins, will be running these “United(?) States of America”………
Obama, who has worked as a lawyer and a legislator to improve living conditions for the poor, took campaign donations from Rezko even as Rezko’s low-income housing empire was collapsing, leaving many African-American families in buildings riddled with problems — including squalid living conditions, vacant apartments, lack of heat, squatters and drug dealers. Obama has absolutely no, zero, zilch chance to be the 1st African American president or any president for that matter; he could be white, green, yellow, brown, pink whatever!
As much as I would like to see an African American Man ready to be the President this country would need! Barack comes up to the scene fresh off the press, with is pompous attitude, mob like arrogance and interrogative, instigative behavior, thinking that his sh*t don’t stink; even when he apologizes his apologies are half sincere!
Barack has ZERO integrity, no clear change, no transparency, just more dirt rising up on him inhaling itself settling in like dust bunnies that will be ready to be swept clean on moment to moment’s notice! Barack, has no design in what he’s actually writing or no design in what he’s actually saying or doing. I firmly know and believe that if time came and with the way of the world today, I can see this happening that Obama would sell each and every one of us to the highest bidders in the Middle East, British persuasions and elsewhere! I see and maybe you do too, how BOarack is using the American people, especially the African American people to get their vote! He is using them to get a vote, and then he’s done with them! To bad that you cant see that the Obama camp played the race card first, but you are so into the color of his skin that you are blind of seing it. Funny how blacks loved the clintons but when Obama ran, you snapped so fast your head will spend. you can vote for Obama if you want like 92%, but th4e least you can do is show Bill and HILLARY SOME RESPECT BECAUSE alot of blacks wouldnt be where they are today without them. STOP THE CLINTON BASHING.
Oh and you people need to stop hating on the Clintons because i voted for her and all this hating her because she could of beat Obama for the nomination and you would of been mad because she beat the black man need to stop. y’all is so focused on race that your being filled with hatred. And stop putting God and the Bible into this. this is politics and has nothing to do with it. shame on you. I’m glad that i dont live in “Black America”. Open your minds some.
Look america Obama don’t need hilary to win if all the supporter of hilary would swallow their pride and look at the big picture and see we do not need for republican to stay in office think people Obama is democrate hilary is democrate if she don’t make it on the ticket still give Obama your support for healthcare, working class people, college students for the war to end and our troops to come home, for gas prices to go down democrate is what we need in office so we as america can come out of this depression republicans put our country in so please all democrate give your support to Obama better him than Mccain
Robert, the bottom line is Mrs. Clinton is a failure and a mud slinger and ran a DIRTY campaign. She did that and we watched her do it. She did it before our very eyes. Mrs. Clinton lost not because the color of Obama’s skin or his sex. She lost because we got lucky and the right person has appeared for “Black Americans” as you so called put it in your racist tone, the right person has appeared for white Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic American, African Americans, Indian Americans, West Indian Americans, ALL AMERICANS! He is not black. He represents both black and white heritage. Try not to offer anything that is less than the truth. That’s what has this country all messed up now. You are glad you do not live in “Black America.” What an insulting tone you put that in. It’s hard to believe an adult wrote that statement. We should stop hating on the Clintons? They simply revealed themselves for who they were. It wouldn’t have mattered if she had won, because we are a ticket/party voting democracy. For the most part, we vote for our party. Therefore, her mud slinging smear campaign is something we would just be stuck with had she won the primaries simply because we would not have voted republican no matter who won. She knew that and counted on beating Obama. Therefore, the smear campaign she ran would not have mattered because she still would have received our votes. And, that is how Obama is going to win! He is the party’s winning candidate so ride with it! We would have rode with it if Hiliary won despite how we felt about her. That’s just the way the party rolls.
I think that we need Hillary Clinton in our corner to make this win as VP.
Governor Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas should be the #1 choice for Vice President. Google this impressive lady.
I really am so tired of the bickering about Ms Clinton and how she would have made the best candidate for this and that. Obama cant make it without her 18 million votes well now she doesn’t have 18 million votes she only holds the sour people that cant let go cause the others that truly want change will vote democrat. So that number is not as large as the continued overstatement. There are so many people so ready to find dirt on obama its been 18 months and the only thing you can give and not let go of is Jeremiah Wright (PUALEEEZ!!!) The only thing I see so correct about Mrs. Clinton is that she will be a lot to the table yeah the REPUBLICANS were going to tear her a new A S S H O L E — Commercial #1 The Whitewater controversy was the focus of media attention from the publication of a New York Times report during the 1992 presidential campaign,[156] and throughout her time as First Lady. The Clintons had lost their late-1970s investment in the Whitewater Development Corporation;[157] at the same time, their partners in that investment, Jim and Susan McDougal, operated Madison Guaranty, a savings and loan institution that retained the legal services of Rose Law Firm[157] and may have been improperly subsidizing Whitewater losses—–Commercial #2Madison Guaranty later failed, and Clinton’s work at Rose was scrutinized for a possible conflict of interest in representing the bank before state regulators that her husband had appointed;[156] she claimed she had done minimal work for the bank.[158] Independent counsels Robert Fiske and Kenneth Starr subpoenaed Clinton’s legal billing records; she said she did not know where they were Commercial #3 Other investigations took place during Hillary Clinton’s time as First Lady. Scrutiny of the May 1993 firings of the White House Travel Office employees, an affair that became known as “Travelgate”, began with charges that the White House had used audited financial irregularities in the Travel Office operation as an excuse to replace the office staff and give the White House travel business to Arkansas friends of theirs——-Commercial #4 An outgrowth of the Travelgate investigation was the June 1996 discovery of improper White House access to hundreds of FBI background reports on former Republican White House employees, an affair that some called “Filegate”;[172] accusations were made that Hillary Clinton had requested these files and that she had recommended hiring an unqualified individual to head the White House Security Office (HMMM SOUND FAMILIAR!!!) SO YOU ARE CORRECT SHE ADDS A LOT TO THE TICKET A LOT OF MAJOR BAGGAGE JUST LIKE HER FAILED CAMPAIGN SO CUT THE CRAP ABOUT YOUR ANGEL SHE HAS WAY MORE DIRT SO KEEP LOOKING AT OBAMA CROSS EYED WHILE PRETENDING SHE HAS NOTHING ON HER
What I like about all of this, is that Obama is in his rightful position. Instead of Obama waiting to be chosen, they are waiting on him to choose. Imagine that, what a wonderful place to be!!!!
Go Obama. In your Quest for a VP consider Nancy Pelosi.
I think John Edwards will be a good Vice President
AS IT WAS WRITTEN,..TIME FOR A CHANGE,& THAT CHANGE IS HERE. THERE IS NO NEED FOR THE WHITES TO BE UPSET, THEY HAVE HELD IT LONG OVER DUE, SO MR. PRESIDENT, SHOW THEM WHAT YOUR WORKING WITH………..CHOCOLATE
oh and lets not forget the lawsuit waiting on her
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq8aopATYyw&feature=related
SAY WHAT YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY MRS HILLARY CLINTON WOULD MAKE THE PERFECT VP IF NOT THE PRESIDENT SHE HAS THE EXPERINCE THAT WE NEED… IM VOTIN FOR HILL
The ball is in Obama’s court. Know they have to play by his beat. Wait, watch, and listen. You go boy!!!
Chris, hillary is out, we have a democratic nomination is Obama duh!!!!!!!
Hillary blew her chances, but she will work with him so she can try to run again in 2012 so now she has to do damage control. Plus she asked Obama to pay off he 20 million dollar dept. So her and bill will working off the dept by backing Obama. He is already unifying the country. This will not be easy the republicans already are saying they have another damageing tape on Michelle, it’s going to get ugly.
Robert, Robert, ROBERT.. Wat the hell wrong with u dude? We all can see that you reaaly don’t pay ne attention to Obama’s speeches. or is it that you take in wat u want?. U sound a little racist by the way. I really feel sorry for u b/c Obama will be OUR President. So, sorry for your luck chuck. However, Mrs. Clinton seen this coming that why she is trying so hard to jump on Obama’s side. GO OBAMA GO!!!!!!!!!!!
BY PICKING OVER THE HILL-ARY OBAMA WILL BE SUCCUMBING TO THE WISHES OF OTHERS AND NOT HIS OWN.. I’D RATHER HE CHOOSE ANYONE ELSE AND TRY TO WIN THIS ON HIS OWN AS TIME GOES ON TOWARD NOVEMBER… TO PICK HER JUST TO SEE IF HER SUPPORTERS WILL HELP HIM WIN THE OVAL OFFICE IS NOT SOMETHING HE SHOULD DO OR LOSE SLEEP OVER…WHETHER HER SUPPORTERS CHOSE TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN OR NOT VOTE AT ALL BECAUSE SHE LOST THEY WILL ONLY BE KICKING THEMSELVES AND HURTING THEIR FAMILIES WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM HOMES IN FORECLOSURE, NO HEALTH CARE, GAS AND OIL PRICES NO RELIEF IN SIGHT THIS IS ALL BUSH ECONOMICS WHICH MCCAIN WILL CONTINUE AS WELL AS A WAR WITH NO END IN SIGHT….. i WOULD CHOSE jOHN eDWARDS ALSO FOR vp IF I WERE oBAMA I’M NOT FAMILIAR WITH ANY OF THOSE NAMED EXCEPT rICHARDSON
It is amazing how we as a people can come together for such a BIG change in the world. However, with change comes time. I am a supporter for whomever is our President (OBAMA). I will also support our VP (Hillary Clinton). Now as a people let’s move on from the past, but let’s not forget the GREAT things Bill Clinton has done for our country and how Hillary stood by him….through it all. Let go of the negative and focus on the positive. You make yourself look ugly when you have nothing but negative things to say… God speed!!!!!!
Hillary cannot be trusted - I can only pray that he doesn’t choose her as a running mate. And who cares what Ed Rendell says - he is a lowlife snake too.
Obama can get the racist white so called working blue collar uneducated vote by chosing Edwards over Hillary. but with or without Hillary obama will beat McCain either way this year. Voting for a corpse with a 300 page medical report is like buying a used car with a 300 page report of damages and repairs done over the last 10 years and the dealer is trying to convince you that you are getting a bargain….”don’t pee on my foot and tell me its raining”.
If America picks McCain then their fate is sealed.
Robert,
How dare you decide why people vote the way that they do. Are Hillary supporters the only people capable of choosing a candidate based on merits? I think NOT! Stop bashing Obama if you don’t want to hear us Obama supporters bashing Hillary. You say the campaign is not about religion…they why all the focus on whether Obama is Christian versus Muslim???? By the way…your post is dripping with the very hatred that you accuse others of. And since you don’t live in “Black America” you don’t know what you’re talking about do you? Hillary showed her true colors and that’s a fact. She is not what this country needs. Her time has come and gone. No more Clintons in the white house…McCain should retire.
PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA in 2008!!!!!!!
Congratulations President Obama!
I think the choice of your VP running-mate is tough, but between Sen. John Edwards and Gen Wesley Clark, you have two Champions for change on ALL fronts. Good Luck and God Speed….
-Genius
Senator/President Obama, please do not get caught up in the confusion of accepting Hillary as your VP.
There is so much controversy regarding her intentions, that you all need to investigate.
If I could vote for a probable VP, it would be either “Global Warming Dole” or Kerry.
Ok people stop right there - TARA and DANA you both need some serious help, You IGNORANT B%%^#. Let me make this clear Mr. Obama doesn’t need HRC, He has gone past phase one and he will make it to the end with victory, however it’s going to be very hard for him for as much as we hate it RACISM has not ended but has it was before and forever will be black people will prevail because we are strong. Lets pray that God will protect PRESIDENT OBAMA because alot of these ignorant people like TARA and DANA will be trying for his life.
NOT HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON!!!!!
I look at these comments and it just breaks my heart to see how we as the Black race are so quick to turn our backs on The Clintons, who (and this is fact so before you start to trip, check your records) Introduced MORE blacks into their cabinet, ushered more blacks into the major political scenes than ANY presidential administration EVER in American History. Those of us who LIVED in the 90’s knows that there was Economic Prosperity, and Peace within that time. What about this did Black folk not like? Now, a Half Black, Half White man runs for office that likes to listen to Jay - Z, we wanna act beside ourselves because all “WE” see is color.. The FACT is that Blacks wanna see a BLACK man in office Ya’ll can say under yo’ breath whatever you want… (Change, Hillary ran a bad campaign, the 90’s werent all that) but the bottom line is just that.. THE BOTTOM LINE… Do you really wanna know why Obama wont get elected president? Its not because of racism, its not becuase of his associations, its not becuase of his campaign.. It’s becuase White people KNOW why we are voting for him and see if for what it is… Our hypocrisy as Blacks is whats going to cost us the election. We bit the hand that fed us well for a Smooth Talkin Kat.. Get mad if you want too, but you know just like I know it is what it is… (and believe me Im ghetto & educated so I know what we say behind closed doors). And before some of ya’ll wanna throw the Lord into the equation, let me lay a lil’ sumthin on ya (since I’m in the church myself..) Be Careful my church people what you throw the Lord out there for because the Lord cannot, and WILL NOT bless something that is not of and not ordained by him.. My point being is this… How can someone who is supposed to be an ambassador of Change, Unity, and Peace is bringing out division, hostility, hatred, and animosity amongst the people??? You dont think he’s not bringing that out in us?? (Take a look at these posts on this very page) Now, if this man is truly annointed by the Heavenly Father, this race would have not been as rough, we would have known by his mere presence that this is of God and even his foes wouldnt have even been anything for him to mess with… now some of ya’ll say that “well, he had all these accusations, and it didn’t effect him”.. But you have to look at the realism from it as well.. He never had to FACE his accusations head on… Denial and Rebuke and a race of people willing to overlook anything can get rid of ANY problem you arent willing to face on your own… So in conclusion my Black People I say to you this… If you truly want to triumph, please take a look back at where you came from and see the many blessings that God HAS bestowed upon from and WHO helped you to get where you are. Even white folks gave you a hand, and the very ones that you are trashing, are the ones who may end up helping you again so remember that as you vote for the next Hip Hop Brotha of saving face… Peace
This is truely a great mark in history Congratulations and stay on course with your campaign straight to the white house. Just continue to stay focused.
I don’t understand why people keep mentioning John Edwards when he has said clearly that he is DOES NOT want too be Vice President.
Anyone but Hillary Rodham Clinton. I don’t trust the Clintons anymore.
This ain’t about religion it’s about politics.the question is: If Sen. Obama loses the general election will that mean God has turned his/her back on Sen. Obama ?
GOD BLESS AMERICA (for real) God BLESS AMERICA!!!!
Thank You Presedent Obama,
Ask god for the wisdom in choosing your vice president and know tht Americans are with you all the way.
When did Sen.Obama get elected President ?
I am elated to see this powerful, intelligent, black man running for President. Ultimately, the decision is his. He has to think about someone he can work well with and won’t undermine his authority. If he feels that Hillary Clinton is the person so be it. If not, so be it! I believe he has demonstrated he can handle his duties and I will leave it up to him to do so. I would not care if he ran with a balloon of air…whoever he decides will take care of this country far greater that Bush the 3rd( McCain) and his running mate will. We gave the Republicans a chance for 8 years to demonstrate they were capable (sorry you guys chose Bush he was not a good candidate) Now its back to regular programming..the Democratic party can fix it with BARACK OBAMA!! Vote November 5th to ensure this powerful man wins the presidency.
“Hillary got the popular vote, therfore choosing her is a guaranteed win against McCain.” No, not true. The her version counts Michigan and Florida
(fine), but doesn’t count the Caucus states for the most part. So we don’t really know who more people came out and voted for.
Y Lord Dr. Condi Rice is a Republican….and she wont be running for any political offices from what I heard, and the same with Edwards, he is not interested in the vp slot….But as for you Tanya, that is exactly what I am talking about, why are you getting so hostile, about people that are on the same team, calm down, it’s going to be ok….lol!!!! The point I was making was that bottom line a democrat must win the White House, and if hillary won the nomination, I was going to vote for her, why? because I am a true democrat not going on feelings and emotions, or they said something I did not agree with, because anyway you chop it up or disect it was still a competition, they were competing for the white house and the democratic nomination, Our real enemies are the Republicans, not the Clintons….
How easy we forget that the Clinton’s fought for equal rights for all of us for many many years. How quickly we turn our backs on someone who has always been there for our people. I see a lot of people saying I don’t trust her but you trusted them through the 90’s and we all prospered. I am a Hillary supported that will vote for Obama but will never turn my back on a lady who has always been there for us. The media vilified her and you all bought into it.
I think that it is foolish talk for anyone to consider voting for McCain if Hillary is not chosen as the VP. In essence to do so would be saying that you are happy with the way things are currently regressing in this country because if McCain is elected we will be far worse than we ever have been. To vote for McCain to spite Obama is reprehensible to say the least.A vote for McCain is a vote for our continued presence in Iraq, a healthcare system that caters to the rich, continuing high gas prices, absolutely no help for the people who are losing their homes due to foreclosures and predatory lending and a giant step backward in obtaining equal rights for women. This election is bigger than Obama, Hillary or McCain. Understand that. It is about the future security of everybody on this soil and their right to the pursuit of happiness.
Well said Louis and Darnell, some intelligent comments, do you not know believe it or not, I have talked to some of my black people and they told me that if Hillary was the democratic nominee or if she was on the ticket they were not going to vote for her…..and they were not going to vote in the general election…..She is a democrat people, and if you are a democrat, you stick by other democrats….
Barack needs to choose someone that has experience on foreign policy. Hillary does not have that and I would feel a lot more comfortable if she was no where near the white house. As for clint, no hostility here.I am neither democrat or republican. I vote for the candidate that is going to make the best decisions for this country. I dont get someone being a true anything. So, youre telling me that b4 you even know what the candidate is about, you set your mind that no matter what, that’s the person you want to run this country? How narrow minded. That’s how Bush got into office because no one took the time to disect him and as long as he was a republican, they would vote.As for Hillary, it is mighty funny that she has changed her tactics and her tone. Probably because she is begging for that vp spot and needs someone to pay off that enormous debt of hers.LMAO
To Unknown, I am very proud of Sen. Obama to but check the Bible it also states that the antichrist was an eloquent speaker and will deceive the people. I pray that this does not happen. I pray he becomes President and I also pray that the change will be for the good. The question is will he have the guts to push the button when necessary. Will his people listen to him when he orders someone killed (Osama). Hillary has shown her true colors. She is a wolf in sheeps clothing. She is the perfect VP and we need the 17 million votes.
Obama is a strong candidate and has a great shot a beating McCain. But lets be real, his chances would be greater with Hillary on his team. People she won almost all of the major democratic states so in terms of popular vote this would boost Obama. As we have seen in recent elections, the winner of the popular vote does not always win the election, remember the electoral college. We need to have a strong ticket to effectively change this country. Emotion can not replace reason. We can not allow the media to dictate our opinions on a political candidate.
Louis and Darnell have very good points. I was reading through a few of the comments posted and I noticed a common trend. Most of the posters are saying that they don’t trust the Clintons and that the don’t want another one any where near the office. Two things, Bill Clinton was voted as one of the top 5 presidents early last year. By these same types of people who all of a sudden are saying that he did such a horrible job.
There are three things that I personally think measure a president. 1 The Buyer foreclosure rate: There were more houses being build and less foreclosures during his term. 2. The national deficit: We were cutting into this deficit and were in a surplus during Clinton’s years. 3. public approval: For the most part this was always high while Bill was in office.
Come on people there were more scholarships for African Americans and other minorities so more of us were receiving a higher quality of education. I am failing to see the bad that you all are talking about.

“The African American comunity must also support him unconditionally. ***He is one of us***. Just as they support each other without hesitation, so must we”
One us of us. Does that mean one of us “Americans”?
You keep seperating yourself from the Unity of America, Americans come in all different shades, when any of them band together without inclusion Its called ~Seclusion~ and that is bad for EVERYONE, And keep making it a “Racial thing” and watch your candidate lose!.. Most of those who dont support him dont give 2 squats about his skin color, You need to stop making it about his pigmentation and focus on his Politics.
And when it happens, and he loses dont Blame Hillary or those who support her, or Cry “Racism”.
His skin color is the least of his problems.
Experience counts.
Tanya, Tanya, Tanya, Hillary changed her tactics because this was a competition and she lost, and now there’s no need to compete with Obama anymore for the White House, it’s on to beat the Republicans….I again say Tanya, they are on the same team, Obama and Hillary want a democrat in the White HOuse, I mean sure when you are competing, you must have an ego, if you think you are the best….c’mon, it’s just like sports!!! But there can only be on MVP!!! lol!! Also she changed her tactics and tone, because evidently and obviously it was over, it was time to move, it’s politics, not those outlandish things you are talkin about….Again I repeat The Clintons are not our worries Tanya, They are not the enemies, Can you say that with me, The Clintons are not our enemies, in fact Bill Clinton was one of the Best PResidents in our nations History, in the top five, you cannot deny the fact that when Clinton was in office, our economy was not in the shape that it is in today, gas was .95 cents a gallon, and foreclosures were not at an all time high, so before we try to dismiss the Clintons, Let’s just remember…..the many positives and advances the Clintons have brought to the table!!!! All of the bitterness against the Clintons is just absurd, I repeat they are not the enemies!!!!
I am a democrat Tanya, Democrats have different views from Republicans, I am not conservative,If you look at Obama and Clinton, their views were basically the same, why because they are democrats…McCain’s views were a little bit more conservative, and which Republicans generally are, McCain wants to keep the war going, Obama and Clinton wants to bring the troops home, The Republicans want tax breaks for the rich and wealthy, but the democrats want tax breaks for the middle and lower class, and the Democrats want Healthcare for all Americans, but McCain thinks the same way the Bush administration does get your own healthcare!…. There are so many other things, with democrats in office we can control the Supreme Court, Congress and Senate….
And how can you say you are neither Dem or Republican, from the tone in your voice, I can tell you are not Republican, c’mon and be real, lol!!! what a joke, right???? There are no Republicans on this board, and not on bet, this is a liberal internet site and bet is shonuff liberal, so get outta here touting that you are neither repub, or democrat, dont insult my intelligence!!!!
Senator Obama ran a good campaign. He was well organized and used untraditional means to fund his campaign. He showed me that he understands economics, teamwork, the ability to apply his critical thinking and community organization skills. These are qualities I want in a leader. Senator Obama did not have to use personal funds to support his campaign.
Everyone protested when Senator Clinton was asked to concede the primary. Many of her supporters felt she needed time to get herself together. Yet, Senator Obama is not being afforded the same consideration in the VP selection. As he stated last week, all potential VP candidates will need to go through a vetting process. He has made it perfectly clear that this process will not be played out in the media or public. I ask all of you to respect his wishes and we all were asked to respect Senator Clinton’s wishes. It is Senator Obama’s choice and he should be allowed to make that choice.
I believe Senator Obama has the right stuff to make the right decision. I am confident that he will speak with his closer advisors, his wife and his spritual council.
There is not any guarantee that Senator Clinton’s supporters will vote for Senator Obama even if she is selected as the VP on the ticket. There are some Clinton supporters who will never vote for Obama no matter what.
I have done my research on all the candidates, and Obama has always been my first choice. If any of you are interested in learning about your candidate, check out Thomas Library of Congress website. You will be able to read about your candidate and their accomplishments.
Tara something is seriously wrong with you. Stay off the crack honey.
Now for your information on GMA, Robin Roberts had a interview with Barack and his wife Michele. He openly said he is a Christian and he believes JESUS that is right he said JESUS, died for his sins. He also said he is not a Muslim. So find out your facts.
Forget Hillary and her folks…WE NEED TO GET OUT IN OUR COMMUNITIES AND REGISTER FOLKS TO VOTE AND GIVE THEM INFORMATION ON BARACK OBAMA AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO VOTE FOR HIM.
AS FOR HIS NUMBER 2 MIF AN…JOHN EDWARDS MR. EDWARDS WOULD ACCEPT IT, THEN BILL RICHARDSON THEN FROM THERE ON IT IS A PRAYER FOR GOD TO PUT THE BEST MAN IN.

You are foolish to discount Hillary and her supporters. Obama NEEDS a large
