Obama’s Back and Moves Discussion to the Economy
By Pamela Gentry, Senior Political Producer
CHICAGO (July 28, 2008) – Sen. Barack Obama made his first appearance Sunday morning following his eight-day tour through the Middle East and Europe before minority journalists gathered in his hometown. I, along with about 1,500 other journalists of color, arrived at the McCormick Convention Center in Chicago about two hours before the live broadcast on CNN to hear from the Illinois senator.
Journalists and guests filed in to the ballroom forced to leave their morning java and sweet rolls per the security rules. We were required to wear our convention ID badge and hit the ladies/men room before entering the ballroom.
Obama’s long-awaited appearance at the five-day conference was well received by all those I watched seated in my area. This was the first time most attendees had seen the Democratic presidential hopeful in person.
During the taping breaks, camera shutters and cell phones were a buzz as folks stood and took pictures of the Democratic presumptive nominee.
Questions from the moderators centered on his recent trip abroad; the four journalists of color organizations asked about his stance on affirmative action, immigration and whether Native Americans and Blacks deserved an apology for treatment they received by the countries earliest immigrants.
Dianne Solis, a reporter for The Dallas Morning News and a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, told me, “I’m really happy he spoke with more details and clarity on his position – especially on immigration’s finer points on legal immigration, more fairness and based on need.”
Jerry Monti, 58, is a Technology Instructor at Knight Digital Media Center in Berkley, Calif. He sat in front of me during the program and afterward told me, “I can’t wait until January.” He said Obama clearly understands the world stage and the role of the United States. “His whole understanding of how unique America is in our ability to work together underscores his leadership ability.”
Jessica Wilson, a 23-year-old entertainment reporter for InStyle magazine and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists was also impressed with the first-term senator. She was also pleased he addressed some nagging issues of little importance. “I loved the fact he addressed the ‘too-Black’ comments, and how the coverage has been different for him. I’m glad he gave Unity a shot.”
A shot his Republican rival decided to take a pass on. The McCain campaign told Unity organizers he couldn’t attend during the five-day conference because of scheduling conflicts.
McCain has turned his attacks on Obama’s trip abroad and focused on criticizing his decision not to visit wounded troops in Germany; he’s released an ad blaming the senator of snubbing the soldiers.
But today Obama is changing the topic; he announced Sunday he will be turning his attention to domestic issues for the “duration” of the campaign. On Monday, he’ll host a conference in Washington with former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker, former Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin and billionaire investor Warren Buffett to get the discussion going.

Iam glad that Mr Obama has done a great job over seas , now Mr McCain is upset that MR Obama has some clout in the middle east and the World. It seems that Mr Obama was snubbed by the majority of the White soldiers, I wonder what Mr McCain will come up with next.

Say It Loud…BARACK & I’M PROUD !!!
McCain moaned and groaned because President Obama hadn’t been to Iraq and Barack went across the water, he continued to moan and groan. You can’t satify some folks.
Barack is going to be a welcome president overseas. I am ready to vote.
Yes Gregg Jones, prayer always works. I asked all of my friends to form a prayer chain for Obama’s protection and safe return. As mama used to say, He(God)is a WONDER. Yes He is and yes He Will.
P.S. Gregg, your blog is OUTSTANDING. thanks.
It’s sad that we have to go through this to find someone to lead. The lies, the mishaps, your dirty background. Mr. Obama is outstanding, CHANGE is what they really don’t want to hear. And to get the people all in an uproar of the possibility there mad as hell. I always say as long as your talking about me I’m alright, it’s when you stop, then I’ll start to worry.
Soooooo what is his economic plan now?
Let’s be real about Obama, he’s made it this far because of Bush hatred and the dislike of the Clintons…yeah yeah I know he reads a teleprompter better than anyone in the history of politics. Oh yeah he’s black too. So the media is killing 3 stones with one bird (I know I flipped it). This dude’s resume is weak – historically weak! He’s not grounded in any issues. He sounds like your typical liberal democrat. I can’t take him serious when he calls his own country embarrassing because they supposedly can’t speak French. All he’s going to do is continue the failed policies of the Congress which by the way has a SINGLE digit approval rating (it’s hovering around 9%)…or a disapproval rating greater than 90% - pick your poison. Either way they fail horribly. That’s even worst than Bush…how’s that possible!
Now that he’s back, what’s his policy on the war?
…I’m not being sarcastic.
Alex shut up, its evident that you are upset with your feelings - you are scared, so this is the way you react; take a stand on something that really matters for everyone and that is we need a Change in Congress!
Obama went on his trip and returned safely yes that is something to thank God for but because there is still so much hatered out there we all still need to pray for him everyday. There are still people trying to use scare tactics as far as his being capable to lead our country but he has shown that he can do very in this country and abroad. This upsets some people that assumed he was going to make mistakes abroad. He has not changed his mind about his stance on the war, there is still going to be fighting factions over there but if it had not been for the Bush heads wanting war in Iraq we might not be having this situation. And its embarrassing that as a country that is always trying to be a leader throughout has so much hatered still still embedded within every boundries.why are people afraid of change espesially when it spoken by some of color? We will be better off without another Bush administration.
alex, its a shame that although we live in the information age, and he just cam eback from the middle east and europe that you would have the audacity to ask what he war policy is. you as well as many americans who ask this asinine question of what barack stands for haven’t been paying attention and CHOSE not to. i’ll help you out: al-maliki and the entire iraq’ goverment, bush and even mccain have adopted his troop withdrawl timetable. the us have sent a diplomat over to iran for talks. same position as obama. obama wants tax cuts for the middle class making less than 250k. the guy has 2 books written about himself and is plastered on tv thse days. do us all a favor and just don’t show up to the polls. your ignorance is showing.
It is unfortunate that the War on Terror which includes the Iraq War has become a political basketball.
Every American should be very pleased that our nation removed a despot like Saddam Hussein. We should had done that years ago. Bush Sr. should had removed him back in 91 and the threat would not had festered that long.
I can understand the idea for a timetable but Obama (or McCain) cannot leave Iraq without dealing with its neighbor, Iran. Obama wants to pull troops out of Iraq.
What if the day US forces leave Iraq, Iran invades the next day? If you understand anything about the Middle East, you must understand that Iran is a serious menace to the whole world and must be dealt with forcefully.
I can sum up Obama’s plans to improve the economy with two words:
Tax Hikes
Obama is already planning the biggest tax increase in our nation’s history.
He will bring back the high tax rates of the late 90s that brought about the recession in early 2001.
Going back to those tax rates will cause another recession and not just a mental recession.
Obama (or McCain) needs to cut corporate taxes to spark corporate investment. They need to limit government spending to reduce the deficit. That would subsequently raise the value of our dollar and even spark even more economic growth.
um, patrick, if you make over 250k, then yes you should be worried about tax hikes, but the average person doesn’t make that amount and probably won’t ever see that in their lifetime. smaller government doesn’t and has never worked. we learned that the hard way through the reagan years
My dear dear friend, friskee1
Smaller government is what made America great because of low taxation sparks economic growth. Throughout the history of this country, every time taxes are reduced significantly, there is a subsequent economic expansion.
Expanding government by tax hikes will cause a significant stagnation.
The Reagan tax cuts of the early 80s expanded the economy which lasted for most of that decade.
Do not think that we are going to have another dot com bubble when Obama (or McCain) is elected that may dilute the negative effect of tax hikes.(eg. the 90s)
If we want to continue economic expansion, the only option is to keep tax rates low and government spending even lower.
I’m happy to see Sen.Obama responding to the comments on “too Black.” And i am happy to see that he is addressing the issues and not name calling like his opponent.
McCain is following the pattern as Obamas’ 1st unworthy opponent-”mud slinging.” We all know how this normally turns out, when people do this they are taking the focus off of their weak points.
Usually the strong will always win in the end…remember Hilary vs. Barack, name calling, the whole ugly ordeal including the suits! Finally she folded. Lets wait on Father time to catch a Sr.moment and retire. “Change”
Midazblu, McCain has not been as hard he could or even should be on Obama.
This is not softball. I expect both candidates to put everything (except for personal attacks) on the table.
Compared to other elections, we haven’t seen nothing.
Obama’s platitudinous hope and change message has not been seriously challenged yet. If McCain is worth his salt, McCain will start runnning even hard-hitting ads on Obama’s little experience, and paternalistic vision to expand the welfare state.
McCain 2008!!!
patrick n washington.. do you know what the rule of law is?. what america did in iraq was plain and simple ILLEGAL.. she got away with it because who is going to CHALLENGE A MILITARY POWER WITH THE CAPABILITY OF 20 COUNTRIES.? if that had been any other country that did what bush did they would have been ostrachised and removed from the united nations.. WHICH,IS A PAPER TIGER as its ruled by the SECURITY COUNCIL RUN BY FIVE POWERFUL WHITE NATIONS.. (and apart from CHINA) THEY PRETTY MUCH HAVE THE PLANET SOWN UP WHEN IT COMES TO EXPLOITATION OF OTHER NATIONS NATURAL RESOURCES.. personally i was not happy about what happened here in london in july 2005, but it comes to this: why are we putting our own lives at risk to satisfy the greed of oil hungry, gas guzzeling nations.?. when i say “we”, i mean “Europe”. this is 2008, no one is interested in being blown up to protect america’s right to guzzel cheap gas and petroleum…
its not cool to tell people to shut up cos you dont agree with their views.. CHALLENGE THEM.. use a bit of intellect if you have any… i get a lot of the “why dont you go and use a gym “type comments from those who are just too weak to handle strong opinon and cover their weakness with a bit of macho posturing… ridiculous…!!!lol!
Olounwa
You are correct in your post but you are wasting your time trying too explain the situation to Patrick.
Patrick please update your thinking,I know you are conservative put realise that time moves forward, all this talk about raising taxes and welfare state is tired.Nobody but people living in yesteryear belives that S… anymore
jfffnn, my friend, facts are facts no matter what if it is yesteryear or this year.
The discussion of the welfare state and taxation is still relevant. There are a significant number of the voting electorate (including myself) that are concerned about them and Obama’s tax hikes to expand the welfare state.
Olounwa, I would never tell anyone to shut up because I do not agree with them. I believe solidly in the free expression of ideas (conservative, liberal, or radical).
Open discussion is good for our democratic republic.
Patrick
Sen. Obama will raise taxs on people who earn 250k a year which excludes me and perhaps you.Now if you make that kind of loot I say more power to you. If you call national healthcare a welfare policy then it’s only because people in this depressed ecomomy can’t afford health insurance.Youmay as well get used to the fact there will be some sort health insurance for ALL AMERICANS.By the way what issue aside from salary is at the top of labor negotians ? HEALTHCARE>
Don’t believe everything you hear. Remember Obama is a politician first. Raising taxes on those who make $250K and up will not pay for everything he wants to do. So if you take in account all the national programs he wants to create (national healthcare, new Job Training Programs for Clean Technologies, National Infrastructure Reinvestment Bank, National Network of Public-Private Business Incubators, New FHA Housing Security Program) then add all the investments and funds (foreclosure prevention fund, next generation innovators and job creators, clean energy, sciences!)…it doesn’t add up!
…he even wants to create a fund to help homeowners avoid foreclosure. What the heck! How is all this possible by just raising taxes on the 250K and up. He wants to give middle class taxes cut of $1000. That’s nothing! I pay over $12,000 in taxes; $1,000 will do nothing for me. Everybody put on your thinking cap. Let’s be realistic. I believe in dreams but there comes a time when one has to be rational. Obama is selling dreams, the government isn’t meant to be that big. What he can do is lower taxes for EVERBODY, lower capital gains taxes and let the American people create jobs and invest in their communities and states.
The best thing I can tell you is to go to his website, read his ideas and think about it. It’s just not practical!
patrick, i hate to tell you this, but having s economic bubble will put us in a recession. kinda like what we have now. and reagan RAISED taxes. reagan devasted the urban communities through his war on drugs and cutting social programs that affect the poor. and alex, btw, the same program obama is adopting, hillary had the SAME platform . she also wanted a gas tax. continue spweing your republican talking points because the more he is hated on, the bigger he gets
friskee1,
…republican talking points! More like American taxpayer talking points. Read what I said again. Everything I mentioned was cited from Obama’s website. It’s not about hating on him; it’s about common sense and logic. The people how make 250K and up are not villains robbing the poor. These people are mostly executives, managers or small business owners who bust their tail to get where they are. So why increase their taxes?
Also, you basically agree raising taxes is a bad idea. If I am to read your comment to patrick accurately. Well, that’s what Obama wants to do! Obama hates the idea of lowering taxes, that’s why he stood against and called the tax holiday a “gimmick” but had no solution to follow up with.
I’m noticing people who support Obama can only defend him with the race-card or hate-card. That’s sad!
McCain thinks he has this in the bag because he is a Rep. He dont try at nothing, he cant even remember anything, you ask him a question and you really dont get a answer he looks and sounds like a dumber Bush. If he becomes President we will all die, and be in hell just like we are now. McCain is mad because we, all people love Obama and he is the stronger person and he has my vote, and meny meny others. Great JOB OBAMA cant wait to call you President Obama
we love you, help us make the change, and it starts with you.
White people and Blacks making good money may not need or want government in their lives, but the poor, those without jobs, trust funds, ira accounts, stock holdings or parents with wealth depend on government aid because it is all they have to keep their head above water. There are many who make good and become one of the bad.
The greatest thing one can do is help another in need. Since slavery Blacks have struggled to climb the ladder only to be brought down by those who think Blacks are getting a handout. There are some who think because they struggled and made it that others can do the same, but that is ridiculous and selfish thinking.
We all need help at some point in our lives to keep house and home together.
My good friend, let me tell you that government does not solve problems but subsidize them.
I believe in helping those in need but the greatest help you can give a person is to help them to help themselves.
Unfortunately, many men and women gets stuck on the government dole. We should not measure true help by how many people are depending on government aid but we should measure how many people are making it without government help.
The goal of every man and woman should be self-sufficiency. Perpetual dependency hinders that goal.
As i sit and read the different comment’s, I say to myself their far to many, bright, and well educated african american men, that are tuned into the political race. And PATRICK WASHINGTON YOU STAND OUT MORE, and that’s not to take away from the other young people, patrick you are a very bright young man, and i am very proud of you, you could be in prison but you’re not, you could be selling drug’s, but, you’re not. You have STRUCTURE, DISCIPLINE, AND ORDER IN YOUR WRITING. I don’t know what you do for a living, but i bet it envolve’s quite a bit of talking. In other word’s patrick washington you can hold your own you will not be out down (smile), In other word’s you are a great debator, You seem to be between the age of 28 to 35, now i could be wrong. the question i would like to ask you is “have you ever thought about geeting into POLITIC’S”. *PROPHETESS*
no alex, raising taxes on the rich, good. cuttting taxes for the poor, good. ending the war and putting some of that money back to good use here at home, great. allowing ceos to funnel their money to offshore accounts like the cayman islands? very bad. allowing the oil companies huge profits and multi million dollar severance packages, very very bad. being indebt to countries like china and saudia arabia for generations to come, catastrophy. see, not so hard to figure out. and you forgot that we are still at war. taxes are going to be high. but mccain wants you to believe that you can have it both ways by going shopping and not sacrificing for a war that HE wants to win. and ask yourself this, mccain’s been in congress for over 25yrs, why is it that he is just figuring out how the economy works? carly fiorina is one of his advisors even though she almost allowed the company she ran, hewlett packard to tank. but she mentioned on mtp that he has been studying the economy for months. really? months? and he has been in congress for 25yrs.
prophetess1953, my beloved sister, thanks for the compliments.
In matter of fact, I am quite active in politics, volunteering for campaigns. I was the local liaison for Fred Thompson’s campaign. In my ward, I am the local GOP captain.
I am actually considering a run for a seat on city council in my hometown. The race is in November of 2010.
Again, thanks for the compliments. I do appreciate that.
Friskee1, my good friend, when the US government raise taxes on corporations, those taxes are usually passed on to consumers like you and me.
Let’s look at Obama’s proposal for a windfalls tax on oil companies. The rise in taxation on oil companies will definitely be passed on to drivers through rising gas prices.
The roots of our economy is private corporations. When corporate taxes are lowered, they expand and hire more people. On the flip side, when corporate taxes are hiked, they contract and may lay off people, or hold back from hiring new employees.
I am very pleased that McCain is now figuring how the economy works because his vote against the 2001 tax cuts proved that he did not at that time.
Unfortunately, Mr. Obama’s tax increases will be deter the economy by causing corporations to be cautious about expanding or even contracting.
McCain 08!!!
patrick, my friend, taxes on corporations affect the corporation far mor ethan the consumer. ever ask yourself how come a ceo from exxon a couple of years ago got a severance package of 400 million dollars? how frank nardelli former ceo of the home depot walked away with 210 million? i want to tell you first and foremost that i am a vet and when you privatize everything and deregulate it including the military, then greed and corruption take over and that is the huge problem that we are facing. those corporations you mentioned have either shipped those jobs over seas, hired illegal aliens, sold the business to foreigners like the saudis to citibank or pay the top execs millions while the people on the bottom get scraps. and the bush tax cuts only benefited those making over a certain income level. and if we adopt the gas tax holiday, the oil companies will just raise the prices anyway to cover the loss. i am probably one of the only few who don’t complain about gas too much because it made many of us think twice about conserving and wasting. bottom line is that a corporation is all about maintaining it’s bottom line and nothing else. forgive me for saying this but you should NOT be pleased that mccain is just figuring out how the economy works after decades in office and now that we are in a recession. just what do you think he was doing the whole time?
FRISKEE1, You are a very bright young man as well, If you are not in politic’s, you should be considering it, This is the first time i’ve been involved in politic’s, and i must say you and patrick are good debator’s, you can hold your own as well, i think patrick look’s forward to your comment’s, You both have different view’s when it come’s to politic’s, but, at the end of the day we all want what’s best for the country. GOD BLESS
friskee1, I thank you for your service to this great country of ours.
if we use the actual numbers instead of bad news reports, we are definitely not in a recession.
Corporate taxation affects everybody that is involved with corporations from the employees that are hired by the corporations to the consumers that make purchases from the corporations.
Let me reiterate that the root of our economy is the private corporation. Corporations create jobs and their main aim is to expand to increase profit. In that process, they hire more people.
Friskee1, my friend, increasing the tax burden on corporations would definitely put a burden on our economy. With less money, corporations would contract by laying off jobs or being cautious about hiring.
As a constant driver, I am having a problem with the rise of gas and energy.
Obama’s windfall taxes would raise the price of gas for any American that uses gas for their car.
Obama’s new taxes on coal will raise the bill for any American that uses coal electricity.
Obama even is proposing to raise taxes on natural gas. That will definitely raise the bill for any American that uses natural gas.

Real talk, let’s discuss reality.
The price of gas is lowering because Bush, McCain, and the Republicans in Congress are pushing for more domestic oil drilling.
McCain’s energy policy will incease the supply of oil which would lower the price of gas. This is real economics at work.
Let us look at the real policies of Obama and their real effects on the price of gas.
He wants to increase taxes on natural gas and coal. He resists more domestic drilling. He is against nuclear development here in America.
Right now, as a junior senator from Illinois, Obama has had no real effect on the price of gas.
The price of gas begin to fall when our President George W. Bush removed the executive ban on offshore drilling in mid-July.
prophetess1953, i am a woman
FRISKEE1, sorry, i should have been more insightful, well i must say, you give patrick a run for his money. *PROPHETESS1953*
George W. Bush, doesnt gives a d… about the average, working American in this country, because all this notion about if had not been for GWB, Whatever!!!! If that was the case then why, why has gas jumped from $1.58, to $3.95, from the time he has been President, it doesnt take a genius to figure out that he was part to blame for this whole ordeal to begin with,,,,,domestic oil drilling was not even an issue 2, 3, 5, 6 years ago, like it is now.,
McCorpse and his campaign crew have no idea what they have just done with this latest ad depicting Barack as “The One” as in the Saviour. If you haven’t seen it go to http://www.huffingtonpost.com and check it out for yourself.
They have literally inherited the golden shovel with which they will dig their politcial grave for this one!
Why in the world would Barack’s opponent think it a good idea to put in the minds of the American people that Barack is “The One” who can “save” us from the MESS we’ve gotten ourselves into thanks to George “Elmer Fudd” Bush and his band of cronies? Why would you do that if you are trying to WIN the campaign???
If I were Barack’s campaign I wouldn’t even comment on this ad. I’d let it speak for itself.
Senator Obama please, remain humble and don’t get into a tit-for-tat sparring match with McSurge and the Misfits. Let them use their own mouths to craft their own demise.
My prayers are with you……
Clint, if you were paying attention in 2001, you would remember that the Democrats blocked Bush’s energy policy in 2001.
Bush’s energy policy even back then was pushing for domestic oil drilling.
For the last ten years, the Republicans have been pushing for domestic oil drilling.
It has been an issue as long as I could remember.
When Clinton was in office, his White House opposed opening up the Anwar for drilling.
If we were allowed to drill our own natural resources beginning ten years ago, gas prices would still be around a dollar.
If we do not begin now, gas prices may rise to $10 a gallon in a couple of years.
Drill here! Drill now! Pay less!
I´m busy right now, so I try to make it quick.
Patrick!
First : Comments to your past comments.
1) “His (comment : Obama) agenda for this country is not what many Americans would like to see implemented.”
—
The consciousness of every national politician (inclusivly the president) is moved by
national sovereignty, every pax-payer wants to be as much as unmortgaged from financial burdens
caused by the ruling government and every human ( besides insane exemplars) wants to live a
life which is respected by other humans. Nothing new to all of us here!
2) “Clint, I have said nothing negative about my race. On the contrary, I have occasionally
affirmed my great appreciation for my black heritage.”
—
Do you think that you represent the “black race” as a whole ? What part of the “black race”
do I represent, if I told you that my mom is white and my father is Afro-Cuban? And which part
of the “black race” do you destined for Obama. And last but not least: Which part of the “white
race” does Mccain represents in your opinion ?
3) “I believe in helping those in need but the greatest help you can give a person is to
help them to help themselves.”
—
I agree, but look at U.S. foreign policy, for example at Iraq. In the past 5,5 years 300000
Iraqies died from direct violence, further approximatily 600000 died of indirect causes of this babylonic disaster. And listen, I don´t care if you don´t believe in these numbers, or if you
don´t doubt them ! All in all more than 4 % of the Iraqi population died since 21.03.2003. And
yet I did not mentioned the Iraqi refugees who fleed in millions to the neighbouring countries.
And Patrick this was not the first war from which the Iraqi people had to suffer in the past 28
years (one generation). And in all these wars the (republican) U.S.A (government/military/weapons/etc. …) was directly involved (not for humanistic reasons).
Right now, more than 6000 tousands Iraqi´s are deceasing per month. This is double as much the
number of deaths in the world trade center at 9.11.2001 . And Iraq´s population is just one-
twelvth of those within the U.S. borders. If so many people within the U.S. or world-wide would
be affected from pain in such a scale caused by - let me say- viruses, everybody in the media
and on the streets would speak about an epedemic! And do you know who or what profited from
this mess, the oil-cooperations and of course the military complex (which is a part of the …
society!) ? Do you have a problem with this problem , Patrick!
Now !!!!
Questions :
1. Patrick, are you a christian ? And if you are, can you tell me in what varies a christian from members of other religions?
2. When you are writing about the present relationship(s) between the U.S. and the EU (and Russia too ?) it appears to me that you are thinking about them in the bygone terms of the 19th, 18th and even maybe the 17th centuries . But in the past 50-60 years more has changed within europe, the world and even within the U.S. then within the 200 years before WW2.
Do you think that your way of appreciating these developments is still contemporary (You see , I try to channel your focus to the foreign policy. But in regard to the internal effects of U.S. foreign policy within the U.S.)?
3. If I understood your desired tax rates right, you prefer a government that increases military spending but cut taxes in general (especially those ones for the cooperations). By the way the government/state should be financially able to
strengthen the national economy if it comes into economical problems (partly caused by the so called free markets). And of course without making debts (for example at China) or causing inflation.
In which part of your concept the needs of the U.S. Americans / Voters are respected by a state which finances itself in such a way?
I´m not speaking of security in your sense, but I´m speaking of education, health care, constructive social/economic/ecologic projects that have a horizon which is bigger than one quartal or 4 years.
4. Patrick, last question, what was the development of the oil (and its connected gas-) prices during G.W.Bush´s regency, or should I say (U.S.) republican politics ?
P.S.
Patrick, you can´t really differ between a government and the population that is governt (or regulated ?) by the people which represents the population (democracy in its original sense). So you can´t postulate here that a small government,
automatically causes a great nation! I don´t state with this comment that a huge state (in your terms) causes a great national society !!
Various Comments are appreciated !
Obama 2008 !!!
Peace !!
Thank you southernboy, I HERE YOU, YOU HAVE GREAT KNOWLEDGE, continue to support BARACK OBAMA, as i stated before, their is something very demonic going on with a element of blackmen, I’m an african american woman, and to my shock, BARACK OBAMA is being attacked from all side’s, now if you look at cable new’s, you will see that it is not just FOX NEW’S, but the attack is coming from MSNBC AND CNN AS WELL, I KNOW what’s going on, and i know, many other african american, are suppose to see as well, and the key word here is suppose), Six month’s ago i jumped on the obama bandwagon, and i thank GOD that i did. And i am still in disbelief when it comes to a element of BLACK MEN THAT WILL COME ON T.V. AND ATTACK OBAMA, and i did not know that it was a black man that put the youtube tape out about REV. WRIGHT, and if that’s not enough he was on FOX NEWS once again yesterday disrespecting SENATOR BARACK OBAMA, you see people it was’nt enough that the white man linked him to two WHITE WOMEN, to try to make him look like anything lesser than A UNITED STATED SENATOR AND A LAWYER AS WELL, AND I WANT EVERY BLACK MAN TO KNOW THAT REGARDLESS OF YOUR PERSONAL OPINION MAYBE OF THIS BIRACIAL MAN, THAT AT THE IN OF THE DAY WHEN THEY ATTACK BARACK OBAMA, WHAT THEY ARE REALLY SAYING IS “YOU BETTER STAY IN YOUR PLACE BOY”. AND IT DOES’NT MATTER IF YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN OR NOT, BECAUSE IN THE WHITE MAN’S EYE’S, YOU ARE FIRST BLACK, AND THEN A MAN. AND BARACK OBAMA HAS A RIGHT TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT, AND HE DESERVE’S TO WIN, BECAUSE HE DESERVE’S A REWARD FOR ALL OF HIS PAIN AND SUFFERING, AND NO I DO NOT AGREE WITH SOME OF HIS POLICIE’S, BUT WHEN HE TAKE’S OFFICE HE CAN GO BACK AND CLEAN UP THE THING’S THAT HE KNOW’S IN HIS HEART HE TRULY DOES’NT BELIEIVE IN.
P.S. THESE ARE THE NAME’S OF A FEW BLACK MEN THAT HAVE DECIDED TO ATTACK BARACK OBAMA AND MICHELLE OBAMA.
BOB PARK’S O. T. W. PLEASE LOOK AT HIS WEBSITE HE IS SMEARING (MICHELLE OBAMA) AND THIS IS A VERY UNSTABLE BLACK MAN. READ HIS BIOGRAPHY.
ERIK RUSH HE PUT OUT THE YOUTUBE TAPE ABOUT REV, WRIGHT, HE IS A VERY UNSTABLE BLACK MAN LOOK AT HIS WEBSITE, A PERSON’S EYE’S TELL A LOT ABOUT A PERSON.
LOOK AT LARRY ELDER’S WEBSITE HE IS POKING FUN AT BARACK’S SPEECH’S.
LOOK AT BLACK FOR BARACK WEBSITE….GREG JONE’S, NOW CAN SOMEONE TELL ME THE DIFFERENCE IN GREG JONE’S AND THE OTHER BLACK MEN THAT I HAVE MENTIONED. THE QUESTION IS I AM MY BROTHER’S KEEPER. *PROPHETESS* GOD BLESS AND KEEP
Thank You prophetess 1953.
I will check out the guys you mentioned and at Baracks birthday on Monday (I guess it will be tuesday here at my home) I can give you an answer about these elements (note: over here the word “elements” refering to social members, means misfits, like criminals; or in the dark days from 1933 to 1945 death candidates).
I know these guys very well over here. Maybe I can compare them with Bob, Erik, Larry and Greg (very Anglesaxon-names ! ). Eventhough here blacks/dark skin people don´t make up one-eigth to one-seventh of the population, and eventhough the blacks here are much more divided than in the U.S. (whites are more divided too, than in America, thanks to the many diffrent languages and cultural traditions), I think the 4 candidates don´t differ much from the traitors here. And aside from that the white versions of these characters (over here) make much more trouble to me than their black counterparts.
See you at this webpage !
Blacks for McCain 08!
Unfortunately, southernboy, Obama and other politicians like him are not seeking to preserve the national sovereignty of the United States.
He wants the US to rejoin the Kyoto Treaty. Oabam wants us to sign more treaties that cedes authority to international bodies (eg. World Trade Organization, etc).
Obama has voiced his support for the US to accept more UN dictates.
prophetess and southernboy, do you understand that this nation’s submission to the European powers of the UN, NATO, and WTO will bring us closer to globalization?
I understand the love for Africa. I understand the admiration of Europe. However, I must affirm that the United States is the last best hope of liberty.
If the United States capitulates to the European socialists, there will be no other refuge for liberty in this world.
My friends, do you know what socialism is? Do you know the negative effects of socialism? Have you studied Marx?
Mr. Obama’s vision to guarantee success for everybody by decimating the wealthy fits exactly with Karl Marx.
prophetess and southernboy, there is sharp reason for me and others to conclude that Obama is a Marxist.
Not jumping on the Marxist Obama bandwagon does not make me a traitor but a patriot for believing in that capitalism is what made this nation great.
McCain 08!!!
Friday I saw the CNN Black male question Senator Obama. I was upset and then angry by Obama’s comments. He in effect told the reporter or the male that was asking such questions as: Katrina, The Sean Bell incident, housing discrimination against blacks and latino’s, the serious problem with racial profiling and Senator Obama (aka: Barry) reported, “I have responded to those thing and I just didn’tespond to the issued, the way you probably wanted me to.Now you do understand that you do not have to vote for me, you can vote for someone else or run for office yourself”. The audicence went crazy, start clapping their hands, laughing real loud and giving Obama the thumbs up. Now you can think and feel anyway you want, it is your constitutional right but to treat someone of color with such behavior, I found demeaning and totally done not only for the media but also for your white or people that are not minorities further support. Think black people!!! Obama is a elitist, he graduated from Harvard not Spellman, or Tuskegee. How can we expect him to feel us? He blieve he is a Kennedy.
hmmm, Patrick, Patrick, Patrick.
Slowly I get tired of you statements.
I really thought you can give better answers (and questions). Why you don´t answer my/our questions. Instead you blame us of not have understanding or reading Marx. Mr . Cooperation , I read Marx and I know that you are uncapable to understand him (from what I read from you). So please don´t make yourself ludicrous by inventing another concept of enemy just to have a “reason” to vote for Mccain. By the way who are the Islamofaschist for you? The Persians, the Saudi´s, Who? And before you tell us anything about the crazy and dangerous concepts and theories of Marx, please take your time (if you have time) and read what Erich Fromm (do you know this guy, do you know any intellectuals, who are not republican?) wrote about Marx and Socialism.
Obama is a Marxist? Why don´t you announce that Obama is a Islamofaschist? YOu just want threw dirt on him, with the help of terms and definitions you don´t understand or you even fabricate.
You know what, you need a brain, maybe a Mcbrain!
And please don´t iterate yourself over and over again. You bore us to death with your simple minded manifesto and your stupid republican cheerleading.
Obama 2008 !)
It is a hot topic now at the hot inter-racial community
http://www.mixedmingle.com/
which is a good place for 18 singles from each race to meet cute girls with big boobs online. This is the only site where sexy black and white girls like discussing inter-racial relationship.
MARNE, I am disapointed in your statements about Obama being an elitest. He grew up in a single parent home. No body gave him any thing, he earned it. He is a person, you want speaking for you, not Jesse Jackson. Obama has messed the white community up. They did not expect a black man to be as intelligent and articulate as Obama. Us, Blacks need to quit settling for less, and we need to quit attacking those who succeed. Obama is a true black man who owes no apologies for his success. I believe that all blacks need to vote and support our canidate. We won’t agree all the time, but Obama is one of us.
southernboy, you cannot simply differentiate between Obama and socialism.
Obama wants a windfalls tax on oil companies to punish them for making profits.
Obama wants to increase taxes on coal and natural gas to punish them for making profits.
Obama’s own political agenda is anti-corporation. Is it not?
Every speech he makes derides corporations for making profits.
If we wish to live in a capitalist society, the corporation must not villainized. Without profit-making corporations, our economy cannot prosper.
I am not throwing dirt on Obama. I am just taking his words and proposals and noticing how close they come to the idealism of socialism.
southernboy, please tell me what is your take on socialism?
Islamofascism is not a fabrication.
Ahmadinejad, Bin Laden, Arafat!!!
What would you call them?
I think here is somebody a little bit annoyed.
Cool down. But until then I let you wait. O.K.
Patrick
Your endless assertion that Sen.Obama is a socialist is tired and nothing less than a FOXNEWS/Republican party scare tactic that will not work.By the way if unemployment/under-employment coupled with high fuel cost and people with no health insurance continue too rise, people may just welcome socialism.Remember this fact, poverty leads to crime and revolution.
Just to show you, that I´m not a bad guy – I give you my response now.
First of all , if somebody/something derides the American people than it´s the American corporations. Who is responsible for the decline of GM for example, the management or the american customers.
And why should this kind of management earn millions while tousands of workers and employes lose their jobs now. This is just one example, Enron would be another.
However I don´t say making profits is a crime, but one should do it in a right way, in a reasonable way.
You know the proverb “You can´t eat money”. That´s all about, the Kyoto Protocol for example is created to save lives in the future and around the globe, not for punishing corporations. But why I´m telling you this, you think it´s a conspirancy against the U.S. anyway.
Look I lifed in a so called socialist society (DDR). It wasn´t one, o.k.. Maybe you think about societies like these if you talk about socialism, but let me tell you even the Soviet Union had nearly nothing to do with Socialism and Marx (just officialy).
By the way: It is possible that corporations make profits and the economy as a whole ,which makes up 90% of the people (in one country), do not prosper. I´m talking about the people and I´m talking for (pro) the people (as Marx did, one can say).
Marx was and Socialism is pro well-being of the people, that does not mean that both are against a functioning, elaborating economy, and it does not mean that they are pro well-fare state or even dictatorship.
Capitalist society don´t mean necessarily U.S. society or democratic society! O.k., there are other examples for capitalist societies, which are in much better shape than the U.S. now (and don´t blame the democrats or the U.N. for this fact).
Before I tell about my take on socialism, please answer my questions I supplied to you in my previous comments . Can´t you answer or are you to ashamed of making your standpoint public?
Ahmadinejad, Bin Laden, Arafat!!!
These three guys (one is dead for sure, guess who) have nothing in common, except for calling oneself muslime. This is like comparing Timothy McVeigh, Simon Bolivar and G.W. Bush, just because they call(ed) oneself christians and live/lived in North – or Latin-America.
They have different political goals, different methods to reach them and no common background. But of course it´s easier to sum them up under “Islamofacism”. Do you know what fascism is? I don´t mean necessarily fascim in the Third Reich, but if you look it up in wikipedia.org you won´t find anything that fits to Ahmadinejad, Bin Laden or Arafat!!!.
Bin Laden is a terrorist like the Contras in Nicaragua/Honduras were (both american terrorists in a way! You read me right Patrick!). Arafat was a wannabe Arab-leader. And Ahmadinejad is just a marionette with no real power (you can´t take Ahmadinejad seriously if you know how the power is dispersed in Iran. And U.S. government knows this fact, but nevertheless they try to focus the attention on him and what he says … to ….)
Did I forget something to satisfy your curiosity ?
My dear friend, I am not lumping those three together because of their religion.
It is very obvious that Arafat (who is now dead), Bin Laden, and Ahmadinejad shares the same philosophy of Islamofascism.
The premise of fascism is an oligarchy based around authoritarian nationalism.
All three promotes the philosophy of authoritarianism with a religious nationality of Islam.
Therefore by definition, they are Islamofascists.
I know that the Ayotallah and his regime really rules Iran. However, the government of Iran is as we speak is seeking nuclear weapons because they are beginning to enrich uranium.
The US cannot reasonably sit back and permit the Iranians to develop a nuclear weapon. I would definitely be annoyed by Iran having a nuclear weapon that could an US city.
I hope you, Mr. Obama, and every American would be annoyed by that.
You stated profits in the right way?
My dear friends, just because oil companies are making profits, it is not the right way or even the prudent way to tax them out of their profit.
Obama’s proposal today is blatantly wealth redistribution.
This is not any FOX news or Republican tactic.
I am listening to Mr. Obama and he is an ardent promoter of wealth distribution akin. Have you heard of Huey Long? If I would close my eyes, I would had thought that Huey Long was speaking.
southernboy, are you an admirer of Karl Marx?
It strikes to me that we don´t lead a discussion. Apparently we don´t find together.
By your definition PAkistan would be a Islamofaschist state to. Well it´s a military state, Islam is the state religion and Yes Pakistan has nuclear bombs. And although PAkistan hates India (and vice versa) more than any arab state Iran hates ISrael they did not atomized each other. Do you know why because then both nations would be just dust. By the way I´m convinced that Iran has already a dozen nuclear bombs ! And just for your information Iran under the Shah and Iraq before Saddam already were developing nuclear plants and weapons (with the help of the U.S. , France and Germany).
Also the current Iran (or any other state with a muslim majority) is not what you could call a dream state, you can be sure that IRan is not so suicidal, that it would attack Israel or the U.S. . And before I try to explain why Iran is doing what it´s doing, I let it be because then you claim that I´m a admirer of Iran or a enemy of Israel or that I don´t understand U.S. foreign policy.
Can you explain us to all the diffrence between stealing and making profits, especially in the oil sector?
Bush´s policy is blatantly wealth redistribution (from the poor to the rich).
Actually I should be glad that you are listening to Obama´s speaches (I do too) but apparently you are just hearing what you want to hear.
Now to your final Question. I respect K.M. and his work as I respect the work of Keynes or Joseph Stiglitz. Just because I´m interested in economics and because I´m able to discover new or good ideas when I see them (by the way even the most radical capitalist agree with a lot of ideas from Karl Marx and thinking that he knew more about economics than Adam Smith for example).Admiration is not a feature of me except for it comes to music (especially black-american music). Satisfied my little snooper or do you want a picture of me with a big Marx painting in the background, a AK 47 in my arms and the flag of the Soviet Union wraped around my head.
P.S. Thanks to wikipedia I know now who was Huey P. Long. And What ? Do you think he was another Hitler or what. And beside from that this was a time were african Americans could practically not vote. So don´t you think your compararision is a little bit polemical ?
Look people, you talk about how smart obama is and how he is making the white community so angry, think about the facts. he was raised by white people!!!! WHITE PEOPLE! the only reason he is as smart as he is is because white people cared for him. He pretends to be black just to get your vote but on the inside he is as white as printer paper.
Alright …, and if I follow your logic he married Michelle and raises their daughters just to convince stupid people that he is rather white as “snow from Columbia” than black as you or me or your “best friends”.
That´s why you vote for Mccain , hee. Because Johnny Boy is so honest and progressive like you and your buddies.
IS this your base of decision if you elect a president (of a prominent country), or are you a “confident” non-voter?
… UP !)
Stupid people, you sound just as stupid as your name!!!! What kind of nonsense is that, How does one pretend to be black…fact of the matter is he is black, and so you are implying that since whites raised him, then that’s why he is so smart, Well I guess he cant be too smart because he married a black woman, you idiot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
And if Obama pretends to be black, then Patrick Washington pretends to be white…..But dont be so intimidated by Obama, because when you speak it shows, STUPID PEOPLE!!!
Clint !
LLLLLLLOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLL
!)
I SEE THE LUNATICS HAVE TAKEN OVER THE ASLYUM ALREADY, TIME TO LEAVE THEN. YAWNZZZZZ
Uhm, Uhm, Uhm!
As a gentleman, I would never accuse my competitor in a debate of lunacy or stupidity.
I have a strong distaste to racialize certain issues.
Taxation, war, and abortion have no race to them.
southernboy, that is why I see a strong resemblance in Obama’s agenda and Huey Long’s Share Our Wealth program.
Letting people keep thier own money is not taking from the poor and giving to the rich.
Seriously, tax cuts are allowing people to keep the money that they possess.
Raising taxes is actually taking people’s money.
Mr. Obama says he is only going to raise taxes on the wealthy and corporations.
Let me reiterate that corporations are the roots of an economy.
There is no way to have a successful economy without successful corporations.
Obama’s tax hikes will hinder corporate success which will subsequently hinder economic success for all of America (black, white, rich, and poor).
southernboy, please do not inform me that you lean more to the economics of Marx instead of Smith.
By the way, Keynesian economics of deficit spending is the main reason why the US dollar is falling.
In my personal opinion, Keynes was the “madman” of economics and the falling dollar is going to prove how erroneous was his philosophy of deficit spending.
If the US do not turn from Keynesian economics, our dollar is going to be worth 100 times less within a couple of years.
Oh Patrick, I must say I missed your comments. Unfortunatley I have no time now to play with you. Give me 2 days (I have other things to do !) and I give you my response.
In the meantime I will check the plans of your two candidates (at least the one´s which they published in the Internet) to understand your position better.
LAst but not least :
I never accussed you of madness or to be a madman (in fact you are very normal!).
I never racialized anything !
And please don´t be so hypocritically friendly and courteous and then denoting I´m a Marxist (or more MArxist than NEoliberal).
Oh, and You made your standpoint already clear that money is the political issue that moves you most.
Bye, Bye
Write you in 2 days
Sorry that found no time do check out Bob´s, Erik´s, Larry´s and Greg´s attitude toward Obama and other succesful black people (men).
Instead I begin to chase the U.S. 08 campaign via the „Time“ (starting with the first edition of 08).
This will help me to make myself a better review about the campaigns of both candidates (next to other/foreign sources of information).
Supposingly it´s more effective to deal with more graduated and diversed writers / journalist and political analyst than with these haters, which are a kind of fifth column of the main hates (in U.S media for exampel).
IF you think some webpages of these four fools or their fellows would be intersting for me, please don´t hesitate and transmit them to me via this webpage.
Thanks for advertence !)
SouthernBoy
Hi Patrick!!
Here is my advertised rESPonse
First of all , I classified the presidence agenda´s as „internal affairs“.
That means I will only refer to them when you give me a good reason to do so.
Headword : Taxation
What taxes do you pay ? And can you give me a percentage which shows what part of your income or profits these taxes represents?
Second:
Do you want talk about a special corporation, which impressed you by it´s performance and/or history ?
Just give examples !
Third:
If you will vote for Mccain than I suggest that you voted for W. Bush before ?
Why ?
Because of his record or because of his family-name?
Fourth:
Deficit spending in the meaning of Keynes was developed to help capitalism/U.S. Economy. And actually it worked very well.
I doubt that Keynes would endorse the present economic policy of U.S. Government, and I´m sure that you would not listen to his advises in economic or business issues.
Fifth : Madman ?
Well maybe he was an elitist, certainly he was english, but he wasn´t crazy for sure.
Maybe to clever for you ?
Now it´s your turn
Show me what you got !)
I pay over 20% of my paycheck to taxes. To me, 20% is way more than any free American needs to pay to their government.
However, an expansion of government will increase its share of my paycheck. This will not just affect the rich but all Americans.
Obama’s platform to create new giveaway programs will lead subsequently to higher tax rates for all Americans.
Examples of the success of the corporation?
If it was not for the corporation, many of us (black, white, rich, and poor Americans) would be living like third-world citizens. It was the corporation that transformed the US from a backwoods country to the economic powerhouse of the world.
In most cases before there can be a job, a corporation must have the extra money to hire.
If you take away money from corporations, they will have less money to hire new employees.
I think that a job is more important than a government program.
Of course, I voted for George W. Bush. That should be obvious.
However, as a fan of George W. Bush, I can tell you that McCain is certainly not a George W. Bush.
I voted for Bush because he is for lower taxes, pro-life, and for US sovereignty.
Forget about the snipe calling Keynes a madman.
However, deficit spending is the reason why our dollar is falling because the increased debt sinks the value of our dollar.
Our dollar is worth a whole lot less now because our government is spending way out of control.
Keynesian economics is not clever but is not fiscal discipline that will ruin our economy within a couple of years if we do not turn from it.
Interesting ,Patrick!
Ähm, it´s 9 o´clock here at me right now, that means 3 o´clock on the U.S. east coast and 1 o´clock on the U.S. westcoast.
I will write you in 12 hours. Promised!
My question about corporations was about a certain corporation, like Microsoft or BET (or whatever conglomerat owns BET).
I will pick up your employment approach, but first let me enjoy my Sunday!
See/Write you soon
Alright, I got 55 10 minutes to think and write.
Ex ante !
If you want more detailed reports about topics that are moving you,
for example topics of inner U.S. (civil) society or politics beyond U.S. Borders,
than we should watch how to connect via E-mail.
You know , the core of my thoughts could be a little bit too hot for and consequently be filtered by the BET editorial staff.
I mean you can´t publish PDF-files on this website.
Do you have a own website ? -> I´m working on my own website(s) -> planning time!
Enough with the foreword.
Due to current inducement I like to start with a question.
What do you suggest makes crime prosper in a society?
Maybe unemployment, bad wages, hard living conditions, lack of „culture or education“ ?
Just because crime effects every social member of a community – in one way or another,
and therefore its a topic to all parts of the body (nation, company, etc. etc. …) .
20 % !!
Is this the average tax -rate of taxpayers in the U.S.
Here in Germany , a state which spends half of it´s budget to what you would characterize as instruments of a welfare-state,
- by the way: half of the E.U. account is used to subsidize the agriculture industry of the E.U. - ,
the charge of the average taxpayer
(let me say with a yearly income of 18000 € up to 240000 € -> Middleclass-wages in european urban area´s -> 75% of the E.U. Population )
due to direct taxes and social services -> like the pension system,
is around 40 %.
Maybe this is part of the reason why more ( mostly well skilled ) germans are leaving germany than people around the world (and especially from E.U. - members) are immigrating into good old germany.
Well according to your assertion toward Obama´s „giveaway “ programs (to whom?) I just want to observe that you could describe „Bush´s“ economic – aid – programs as giveaway – projects, as well as his plan to transform Iraq into a „bea-con of democracy“ in the middle-east.
To stay political, here is another question - to you and to you all in this forum - : !
When you are pro-life , or in other words :
When you are pro to the idea that every men (and women) has the right to life,
Are you also pro to the statement that every human (here and elsewhere) has the right for education, healthcare (seen as an economical factor/capital, and linked to eco-logical topics like food, etc.) and work (payed, productive, creative/pro-life) ?
Do you regard the Iraq-war as a concept of establish ing U.S. Sovereignty ?
Or the Vietnam-war?
Or the embargo of Cuba, which endures since nearly half a century?
The dollar is falling because the FED lowers constantly the rates on the DOLLAR ,
which is justified by the argument that it helps to keep the markets and (stock-ex-changes) corporations/bankes/etc. financially liquid.
Look during the 60´s the Dollar lost worth because U.S.-government payed the war in Vietnam with printing money .
And this inflation coincided with bad economic performances of the U.S. in the 70´es,
which in turn was animated by deficit-spending under Regean.
But hey he won the cold war!
And actually every U.S. Government (even the current one) made better politics in economy than any soviet- or past-communist– government.
And capitalism helped China to transform a traumatized , agricultural, very poor nation into an economical and political Giant which has more global importance than Russia now.
And this was all achieved in China since Carter left the White House, and this all accelerated when Clinton was sitting in the work-place .
Now China is — next to Japan, the E.U., and ahead the wealthy arab kingdoms and the former communism-block-states/“re-publics“ — the largest stakeholder of the Dollar
(especially within the incumbency/“income-bendy“ -> wordplay).
Thus much towards U.S. Economic – sov- er- ei-gnty and economical-powerhouse of the world !!
Well people do work for money but they also work for themselves in a nonmonetary sense.
You know you can´t buy anything/anybody , and sometimes the price is to high to do certain jobs.
And besides: it is impossible ,, above all on a global scale ,, that every employable human becomes million-air.
Apart from the undeniable fact that even middle-class families (in the U.S. par example) have more economic, etc. … and politcal opportunities and a more comfortable life than upper class 100 or 200 hundred years ago ( in the case of China we are just talking about decades, economicaly seen ) .
Yes!! , real (and payed and credited) work is always better than call upon wel-l-fare or other (corporately/socially) subsidized social services.
What differs G.W. Bush from J. Mccain, in your opinion ?
You can answer my question best in giving examples !
P.S. How do you assess my english literary language ?
How does it sounds in your ears ?
mccain is an idiot but what bothers me more than any thing is why him? for a candidate? realy how /why him ? he was sleeping when he found out he won. and there were such better ones for this position and he beat them??ya right… that bothers me just think about it the old man with no ideas ok very old man beats the other guys who had ideas..hmmm its like there was a reason for the mistake the gov of new mexico had ideas and he was a good candidate him vs mc cain think about it ?
southernboy, you definitely needs a pdf for all of that.
I’ll try to make my rebuttal simple and short.
The only websites I maintain is gopetersburg.org for the Petersburg Republican Committee and my religious teachings’ website, qahalyisrael.org
In a civilized and well-ordered society, crime cannot and should not prosper. However, there is no proof that poverty is base root for crime.
Poverty does not automatically causes someone to resort to crime. I was born poor and never became a shoplifter or any criminal.
It goes back to values. Someone of lower values resorts to thievery and other crimes.
My friend, no American (black, white, rich, poor, you or me) would stand for 40% of our dollars going to a welfare state.
Obama’s big expansion of the welfare state will result in something comparable to the tax rate in Europe.
No to 40% tax rates in the United States. Vote John McCain!!!
The United States willingly cand carelessly printed money beginning in the 70s to pay for Keynesian deficit spending.
To pay for deficit spending, both of us know that a country has literally create money out of thin air.
Unfortunately for every American, that diminishes the value of our dollar.
My dear brother, you obviously see the negative effects of the falling dollar. You also know that Keynes’s idea of deficit spending is the direct cause of that aforesaid falling dollar.
Therefore, let us both admit that increasing government debt (whether it is by Bush in the last eight years or Obama in the following term) will hurt the value of our dollar and subsequently economically hurt every American (black, white, rich or poor).
As a pro-lifer, I does not see the term pro-life means a right to life.
However as a pro-lifer, I feel that life begins at conception and the laws of the land should reflect that.
There is no other logical point where life can begin but when a human is conceived in the womb.
That is when that being becomes a living organism.
There is no doubt in my mind that that living organism is a human life that should be protected by the law of the land.
I know that this maybe too abstract for some out there but healthcare and education is not a right.
Under the premise of equality, the radicals are turning everything into a right.
There are some things that are rights and some things are just privileges.
Life is a right that should be recognized by society at large.
However, comforts of life are not a privilege.
southernboy, your English sounds well in my ears.
I would not use as many commas and dots though.
LOL!!!
What are paying Non-free americans ? Do you possibly mean „illegal immigrants“ ?
Do you perceive the U.S. Society (as a whole) as civilized and well-ordered ?
Before you respond to this question (what you will certainly not do) I like to note that I know the U.S. From my own experience. I visited the TwinCities and the area around both towns when I was 14 years old.
Did you ever visited another country , Patrick ? Canada does not count !)
Please don´t accost me with „my dear brother“.
I´m not well versed in the old and new testament, and I actually never consciously talked with a sermonizer.
And please let us stop about Keynes, I´m not here to do so, alright !
Of course I watched your two websites.
I will email you in this week.
By the way : Can you speak, write or understand hebrew ?
I´m just asking because if you did start learning it then obviously not in your early years.
You know I will start learning arabic by myself in the next couple of months, and who knows with whom I can communicate in this language (both languages are semitic !)).
What site of your identity coins you more in your daily life ?
The Jewish, the American, the Black or the Republican site of it ?
Well I´m sorry I guess I misinterpreted the word „pro-life“, but in my opinion it´s the decision of the female part of humanity when it is about abortion.
I mean you are maybe even no father (or grandfather -> brother mayby ) of a female human, why do you want make a law about this issue ?
Kids are expensive and a big investment, even in it´s non-financial aspects !!
If you re ply to my sentences then I will email you quickly.
But first I have to care about my earnings from last month (tax free …).
I will definitely await your email, my friend.
I am slowly learning Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
Since I devote more time to the PRC, and other political events, my indentity is more reflected in my Republicanism.
Religiously, I am a Messianic Jew with an Apostolic background.
I have been black all my life. I solidly feel that there is no certain way to be black. We can have just as many varieties as any other race in the world.
Patrick Washington, You have not been black all your life.,,,quit lying!!!!! No one should have to come on this blog and say that they have been black all their life., who are you convincing Patrick, maybe yourself, because we certainly dont believe it, my friend!!!
Clint, my friend.
All blacks do not have to think the same way you do to be black.
All blacks do bot have to vote the same way you do to be black neither.
No, they dont Patrick, But I expect every black, to stand up for civil rights issues, as they should, Putting Parties aside and stand up for the issues!!!
Clint, tell me what is civil rights issues?
Name one!!!
Name one!!!
Name one!!!
Do not tell me MLK Day is a civil rights issue.
Do not tell me that an apology for slavery is a civil rights issue.
Those do not amount to anything more than just symbolism.
Are you fighting for symbolic gestures that does not really matter to anyone.
Taxes matters. Energy matters. Abortion matters.
P.N. Washington
I will email you in 48 hours !
Clint
I agree with you.
PAtrick is definitly not focused on the issues.
He is only interested in them if they ( plus a big bunch of assertions
and ideology) pledges “his” standpoint.
His argumentations and his style are sometimes so defiant and
shameless, that first I thought that in reality it´s a women who is
writting (I´m glad that he is not, because that women would be a
nightmare -> at least for black folks).
I guess it´s not so important if we believe him or not, the point is
that he is talking with us (those who are diffrent from him).
It would be worse if he did not.
And in a way that´s audacious from him.
IF I´m honest with you Clint I guess that Patrick suffered a lot from
the behavior of other blacks. That´s maybe he is not so pro-black as
we might wish.
And maybe that´s why PAtrick is so …… you know !
But hey we don´t help him if we just critizize and attack him (although
he does not help us either way in doing the same to us) because of his
views and thoughts.
If I had been “conservative” as Patrick I had no reason to engage
myself on these matters here on this site.
Why ?
I can give you an answer to that via E-mail or Skype, or another
messenger/communication tool.
Well, next year I like to visit the U.S..
Best a big urban area, like N.Y. .
In my opinion you got good knowledge about the Americans, Especially
the African-Americans.
I would be honored if you will share your wisdom with me by the time.
Believe me, I´m not boring as a (exclusive) dialog partner.
Hey PAtrick cares about politics. That´s good. Every citizen should do
so who is caring about civil rights and his/her freedom.
And I appreciate that he is learning -so called dead languages- greek
and latin as well as hebrew.
Learning other languages helps to enlarge the horizon of the one´s mind
,it can change your attitude and way of thinking (which is always
involved when it´s about solving problems).
Although his religious orientation is a little bit dubious for me, I´m
glad that he is reading books and not just the one book.
One last thing:
I want to be more “black” than Iam.
Can you give me advice for that.
Look until my 20th lifeyear I never meet and spoke a black person.
Except my past stepfather and his entourage, who are/were more third
world than black.
And when I had the chance to have an affair with a (half) black
(americanized) women I failed (had no real contact to -non-related-
women too) and moreover : I lost my faith in the black community (if
there is something like that in WestBerlin/Germany/Europe) until the
present.
southernboy, I am focused ont he issues that concerns many of the people that I come across everyday.
A significant number of people I know are concerned with taxes, energy, and abortion.
Those are the three issues that are going to determine this race.
Barack Obama and John McCain spends most of their time speaking on abortion, taxes, and energy.
Last night at Saddleback, McCain gave a major blow to Obama on the issue of abortion.
Obama’s energy policy of windfalls taxes and higher taxes on coal and natural gas will result in higher prices to heat your homes and at the gas pump.
Obama is willing to raise taxes more and more. For last month, Obama has been coming up with new taxes very other day. Obama will have hike taxes to support his big government expansion plans.
John McCain 2008!!!
Thank you BET for removing my comment/answer to P.N.W. .
I will remember that.
IS there any possibility to find out why you did so.
Anyway I´m sure that you PAtrick already read it.
To our First Mccainist.
Well I watched parts of the SaddleBackChurch event.
I have to admit that I watched Obama more often and frequently, but I will finish Mccains performance later that day.
However it´s not difficult for Mccain to give Obama a “major blow” on the issue of abortion.
Anyone could give me a major blow in a NRA event by stating he is pro-weapons.
The bottom line is that Obama convinced me much more than Mccain, which led to dozens of minutes where I accessorily watched other appearances and speaches of Obama.
In this process it striked to me that we might have a very different taste, not only concerning politics, but also personalities.
But this is a theme we can talk about in our upcoming Emails (if you are still interested in emailing each other).
Southernboy
The news is that the “cone of silence” is a lie because when Sen.Obama was on stage McSame was in his motorcade enroute to the forum.Just another reason not too trust them lying ass WRONGWINGERS.
Patrick
Do you realise that if the Surpreme Court overturns Roe vs Wade it would ruin the republican party because the only female votes they would receive is the female holyrollers, the soccer moms would never, ever vote republican again?
Patrick, McCain did not give Obama a “major blow” at the Saddleback forum, I mean that was no surprise where they stand on the issues, Everyone knew that Obama, is Pro-choice, and McCain is Pro-Life, so what, what was the big blow???? If you didnt know where your candidate of choice stood on the issues before this event, then what rock were you hiding up under!!!!
The event, however, was very enlightening., very informal, very relaxed., and very informative…
Clint
The term “pro-life” is not acccurate, unless somebody is suicidal they are pro-life.The accurate phrase is PRO-CHOICE.
jfffnn, huh???? That’s what I said….it’s pro-choice and pro-life, McCain is pro-life, and Obama is pro-choice….
Jfffnn
From where do you know that Mcsame was in his limousine when Barack was speaking with Rick Warren ( who made a joke about the cone of silence when he started his interview with Mcsame).
If it is true what you wrote then Obama´s performance is even more impressive.
I´m watching the Mccain part of the SaddleBackForum, and it´s interesting to see how the guests look at Mccain (in comparission to Obama).
Do you mean the guests (and not only their shepherd) knew about Mccains information and time advantage.
NBCs’ Andrea Mitchell first broke the story and other reputable news outlets followed up and confirmed it.McSame seemed too have known the questions before they were asked, the Surpreme Court question in particular.McSame was not going too be isolated so he waited in his hotel and listened too the questions while enroute to the forum.
Southernboy
Rick Warren may have known about it but people in the audience probably didn’t,it would have been a secret hard too keep.I suspect Rick Warren did know about because when asked about it he had a fake look of surprise on his face or he was surprised that people knew about what had transpired.
Who really cares whether or not McCain was in a motorcade before the interview or in the cone of silence.
The audience went wild for McCain. Obama’s reception was lukewarm.
Of course, evangelicals at Saddleback was more open to McCain than Obama but the enthusiasm for McCain shows that McCain is still popular among the conservative base.
Conservatives are lining up behind McCain. However, Obama has until next week to reconcile with the Clintonites.
Why attack Rick Warren when he invited both Obama and McCain to his church. Warren could had just invited McCain to appease his congregation.
Would Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, or Jeremiah Wright invite John McCain to their churches?
Patrick
The cone of silence was Rick Warrens idea that both senators agreed to.The agreement was broken which is dishonest. As far as a bunch of holyrollers going wild for McSame, that would not anybody paying attention ? No surprise there.I’m just hoping McSame picks Tom ridge as his VP choice; Then as Rush Limbaugh said “the fur will fly”
Patrick,
The audience was wild for both candidates, of course they got wild on the topic of abortion, which was expected., the crowd was not bias at all, so this notion, like they somewhat favored McCain over Obama, was just false, and overrated.
Of course, conservatives are lining up for McCain, that’s what they are supposed to do.,
And John McCain was invited to the NAACP convention a few months back., so what was your point???
And I honestly believe, Jfffnn, that he did know the questions beforehand., he answered the questions too quickly and sharp, Everyone knows that John McCain is not sharp like that, he stumples and stutters in front of the prompters….So that I did not buy, When Obama answered his questions, he didnt know them, and he answered them, like he didnt know them, John McCain knew those questions, I dont care what anybody says, and the Republicans, have been gloating all weekend like this is some kind of victory over defeat.,,,,,Please!!!! The War is ON!!!
Clint
I don’t trust those WRONGWING holyrollers any further than I can throw them.I truly believe McSame was briefed on the questions. That is just the nature of GOP dirty tactics.
jfffnn,
Exactly, and of course he was briefed on the questions., I wonder would McCain agree to go to a black megachurch, like TD Jakes, and or, Eddie Long’s Church??? I think they should hold forums at their church as well….
If black people didn’t commit so much crime in America they wouldn’t be arrested so often. Teach your kids to get an education, work hard and stop committing so much crime. Black men aged 20 - 30 make up 85% of the violent crime in America. That’s why the jails are so full of young black men. And don’t think that Obama is going to be your savior. Get an education about how the government works and you will know that he can’t help just blacks. Obama is 50/50 Black/White therefore he is just as much a white man as a black man. He was raised by his WHITE mother and grandparents in Hawaii and went to IVY LEAGUE schools. How many black people went to IVY LEAGUE schools? NONE because blacks aren’t smart enough. Too busy watching music videos and smoking dope. Affirmative action is the only way blacks can go to those schools and take spots meant for more qualified Asians like myself. Asian Americans are model citizens who don’t commit crimes, work very hard, get excellent educations and don’t drink KOOL-AIDE. We worship the Sun and are too smart to believe in God like blacks do. We know that religion is falsehood created by people who don’t know any better. I’m so glad I’m Asian.
Amazing site.
Thanks, webmaster.
