A Baby On Board the Republican Ticket?

(ST. PAUL, MINN.) Sept. 2, 2008 – So what’s up with John McCain’s running mate? Is there anything else she would like to share with the American people before she accepts the nomination here at the Republican National Convention?
Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin disclosed Monday that her 17-year-old, unmarried daughter is five-months pregnant. Did McCain’s search committee know about this when she was selected for the ticket. I doubt it, because they would never have thought this would remain a secret.
It’s pretty clear: McCain did not know much about Palin when he selected her to share the presidential ticket. But the pregnancy report is the second discovery in as many days raising questions about the Alaska governor’s choice as a running mate.
On Monday it was disclosed that Palin had hired an attorney to represent her and her husband in a state ethic’s probe. The investigation is underway to determine whether Palin dismissed Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan after he refused to fire her brother-in-law, a state trooper who was involved in a bitter divorce from Palin’s sister.
So what else is going to be uncovered about the first-term governor?
Palin and her husband Todd released a statement on Monday confirming and acknowledging their daughter’s pregnancy. “Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents,” the statement read.
They also announced the baby is due in December and that their daughter will marry the child’s father. The campaign declined to reveal the father’s full name or age, only referring to him as “Levi.”
It’s too early to tell what impact these revelations will have on the campaign, but it has to bring into question Palin policy views opposing sex education and supporting abstinence only polices.
It’s cool that everyone is voicing their support, but my question is this: We’re all supporting the belief that its the issues we’re backing, but what about those of us who are still undecided. I’m no sell out, I just don’t trust politicians. Why isn’t BET covering the Republican Convention? I’d like to get both sides from a source I can trust.
Mike, they are not covering it for the same reason that they didn’t identify Obama’s mother in a picture with her holding him as a young child. It’s because BET is biased. They had 25 photo’s and identified by name the majority of people who are known (celebrities, politicians, etc.) The only people they didn’t identify were members of the audience and Obama’s white mother. It is very sad and disrespectful.
McCain should have chose a better VP, point blank and simple! Through this whole time, he kept talking bout how unexperience Barack is, and then he goes around and pick a 1yr term GOVERNOR!!! what kind of ish is that??? she is not even a senator! I mean lets be real….if he was to drop dead in the oval office, he is leaving our country into the hands of a unexperience woman!!! now don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with being a woman, i’m a woman…so to see us raise is great…but trying to compare her to Hillary Clinton is a slap in the face!!! this woman knows nothing and she has to debate against Joe Biden!! are you serious??? she is not even in the same league as Biden…. now see Barack can hang with Mccain in a debate…this woman? the topic will jump to National Security and it is all she wrote!!! time and time again, the republicans show they like to elect the dummies into office..i.e. Bush!!! it’s time for change!!!

LISTEN UP BLACK PEOPLE! the republican’s are using every TRICK IN THE BOOK TO WIN, and they could care less who they use, so before we say “POOR MCCAIN” we should look at the full picture. BARACK OBAMA IS A BLACK MAN RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATE’S OF AMERICA, WHICH MEAN’S HE IS NOT THE PRESIDENT YET, and if black america has some how not taken note that their are TWO MAJOR PARTY’S running against each other, then we need to take a second look at the REPUBLICAN PARTY AND WHAT IT TRULY REPRESENT’S.
The republican’s are going to have a BLACK PASTOR SPEAK AT THEIR CONVENTION, tonight or tomorrow night, and when you see him, take note people to his SKIN TONE, HIS HAIR, AND IF YOU THINK THIS IS BY ACCIDENT, THEN THINK AGAIN, WHY NOT T. D. JAKE? and guess what BLACK AMERICA he is a EX DRUG USER. Now i don’t know about you black america, but i plan own watching that CONVENTION, and i could care less about how RACIST the republican’s are, because BLACK AMERICA some of our own people are BLACK REPUBLICAN’S and they do not have a problem with bringing SENATOR BARACK OBAMA DOWN.
AND AS FAR AS THAT BABY, THAT PALIN HAS, WHOSE TO SAY SHE DIDN’T ADOPT HIM FOR POLITICAL GAIN?

Can we stick to the subject and stop with the RichMatchMaking.com… That has nothing to do with what we are talking about. Anyway, Sarah Palen’s daughter is pregnant at 17 yrs old just like alot of young black 17 yr old girls. But the difference is, they talk down about us and say we will never make anything of ourselves, but she gets a gold star and a pat on her back and she gets to a pass. Just because her mother can buy it. GO figure… Makes you wonder what else her mother can buy? hmmmmm
I also would like to ask if all Black People are Democrats. I would have to say NO!. Thanks BET for making a political statement for the Left. We Black Republicans can now turn our channels to Fox News or CNN from this point forward. I would like to see fair and balanced reporting, not what you people want me to see.
Governor Palin is a great leader for this country. A solid conservative that has the right views on energy. She cut taxes. She has a firm commitment to protect the life of the unborn.
Praise God for Sarah Palin and praise God for John McCain choosing her as his VP.
Palin is uniting the Republican party behind the McCain-Palin ticket. We are energized now.

I only have one thing to say. What the hell has the republican party has done for america? Yes I’m a student of politics and understand Lincoln was the one that gave “black” people there freedom. Everytime a republican is in the oval office the national debt goes up, the rich receives a tax break and the middle class picks up the tab.
There also have been rumors that Palin’s fifth baby (the child with downsyndrome) is her daughters baby, and she covered it up by counting the child as “her” own. No one remembers her being pregnant with her fifth child??? I don’t know how true that is.

Just because she is a mother of five, witch her son is about to go to Iraq and her daughter is about to be a grown women and a married one at that. As a mother I question the judgement of this woman for putting her family through this. I have been in corporate america so I know the difficulties faced with balancing work and my family. There have been a number of promotions I have declined due to the impact on my family. Why would this woman do this to her family? Why is it when Jamie Lynn Spears got pregnant everyone was in an uproar. Why are those people trying to act as though premarital sex and an unwed pregnancy is now OK. This woman is a political version of Lynn Spears and Dina Lohan.
I agree with Mike. BET and TV1 were all over the DNC, but are GHOST for the RNC. I believe their are 3-sides to every story, the Democratic, the Republican and the truth; it is up to OUR media stations to present both sides so WE can be informed – not one sided!
I can’t help but think about Obama and Pastor Wright. How people were agaianst his teachings. But it is ok for this TEENAGE girl to have a baby out of wedlock?

Sen.Obama has taken the high road by saying that Gov.Palin’s family is off limits,infact he said that his mother gave birth at age 18.What makes you think that Sen.Obama is being crtical of Gov.Palin ? it appears that you have not been reading the papers and watching the news.I don’t think Gov.Palins daughter is a issue,what is a issue is the Gov. trying too fire her brother and law and her being involved in the Alaska succesionist movement,The Gov. asking what does the V.P.do and the issue of imminent domain.
