(ST. PAUL, MINN.) Sept. 2, 2008 – So what’s up with John McCain’s running mate? Is there anything else she would like to share with the American people before she accepts the nomination here at the Republican National Convention?
Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin disclosed Monday that her 17-year-old, unmarried daughter is five-months pregnant. Did McCain’s search committee know about this when she was selected for the ticket. I doubt it, because they would never have thought this would remain a secret.
It’s pretty clear: McCain did not know much about Palin when he selected her to share the presidential ticket. But the pregnancy report is the second discovery in as many days raising questions about the Alaska governor’s choice as a running mate.
On Monday it was disclosed that Palin had hired an attorney to represent her and her husband in a state ethic’s probe. The investigation is underway to determine whether Palin dismissed Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan after he refused to fire her brother-in-law, a state trooper who was involved in a bitter divorce from Palin’s sister.
So what else is going to be uncovered about the first-term governor?
Palin and her husband Todd released a statement on Monday confirming and acknowledging their daughter’s pregnancy. “Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents,” the statement read.
They also announced the baby is due in December and that their daughter will marry the child’s father. The campaign declined to reveal the father’s full name or age, only referring to him as “Levi.”
It’s too early to tell what impact these revelations will have on the campaign, but it has to bring into question Palin policy views opposing sex education and supporting abstinence only polices.

The white liberal dem of the 60’s understood the power of the family, so they had to create a system that would tear it apart. Enter the welfare system and their buddies (sec.8, child care etc.) They got prayer out of the schools in 80’s, with the help of the aclu. Lets not forget not being able to spank your child, along with social promotion, even if he has’nt earn the right to pass. The left has taken PE out of the schools and now the children are overweight. They are medicating young black males and shipping them to special ed. Now the game is to give cholesterol drugs to 7 & 8 yr olds. Thank you democrat libs, for all of your support.
Getright a small correction, prayer in public schools was eliminated in the 60s’ because there are many avenues of faith so the question was what prayer was going to be recited. Was the lord’s prayer going too be forced on Jews,Muslims and Hindus who all attend public schools ? The ACLU was just representing people of those faiths ? Not just atheist.
It has been noted that there were more qualified female candidates he should have selected for VP. But it makes me wonder why he selected the least qualifed. What I see behind this is good old boy politics and hidden racism agasint blacks and women. It is clear to me that the elite Repulican Party would rather see and unqualified white woman as a potiential President should something happen to McCain then have a Black Man as President. I call it like I see it. We can’t possible belive that McCain is putting Country First with this woman who has so many issues within her own family, to be ready to lead a Nation. He is putting our all our lives at Risk and it was a very dangerous move, and we will all suffer the consequences of it should McCain become President
Lisa
In a previuos post I stated that McCain knew enough about her too choose her.Knowing what he knew he probably picked her thinking she will not stand the heat and withdrawl, allowing McCain too pick either Joe lieberman or Tom Ridge which is who he wanted in the first place
This may have some truth to it but it is not the time to play risky politic and that is not the kind of person we want to Lead this Nation. We have some very serious world issues to deal with, not just here in American but abroad, McCain and his staff has made a spectical not only of the Repulican Party but American as a Nation. It was an irresponsible decsion and we as a Nation need to fully understand the need for a new direction
TAKE NOTE BLACK REPUBLICAN’S AND OBAMA HATER’S, obama is UP IN THE POLL’S, it seem’s as if he is SURGING in spite of the attack’s from the REPUBLICAN CONVENTION, and as well as the attacks from HIS OWN PEOPLE. And it amaze’s me how black men will come to the defense of a WHITE woman, like SARAH PILAN, but not stand up with gut’s and defend MICHELLE OBAMA when the media was ATTACKING her, what a shame, it just show’s that some black men are still stuck in a state of “the white woman is suppose to be PRAISED AND WORSHIPED NO MATTER WHAT”.
Ok. I saw alot of educated blogs and alot of garbage. I pray that when I post this I won’t get some argumentative person that is going to insult me for my beliefs, because that’s what has been wrong with this country for along time. The concensus I got from the blogs is that because I’m black, I should be a Democrat. Well, I’m not. I’m not a republican either. Indepentent people. Telling me I should be a certain way because of the color of my skin is what we’ve been fighting for 100 yrs. I am looking for the truth. Choosing a side becuase it’s the politically accepted thing to do is choosing to be close minded. And may I add one thing about the economy. A president has little power over it. The senate must approve all presidential actions. The economy will naturally flux up and down. the president sitting in office on an upturn gets great credit, and vice versa. And no offense to who ever it was above…but don’t get all you political views from a single radio show. Biases will steer us wrong forever.
Whenever you see Governor Palin and her family out representing the Republican Party she is never carrying the baby.
Mike,
Oh, so you insult others for their beliefs “alot of educated blogs and alot of garbage AND don’t get all your political views from a single radio show” but you don’t want the same in return? It don’t work that way here so keep it movin if you can’t handle the climate. Democrats and Republicans debate and insult each other constantly here. Sometimes it gets real heated. This is just a blog man and this goes on all day every day.
BTW:
Palin will have two grandchildren when this second one is born. There are too many holes in her ” I flew 8 hours home to Alaska after my water broke in Texas and her returning to work 3 days after giving birth to a down syndrome baby, and NOBODY can find the doctor that delivered the baby from her. And how come nobody knew she was pregnant? Pictures don’t lie, but Palin sure does. She’s like all the other republicans NOT to be trusted. And to the fella up above, being Independent doesn’t make you smarter or more open minded, it only means you play both sides of the fence. And that’s your business!
“Please, Let’s Talk Issues and Stay Focus!” ~~~~~~~~~~~~
Americans focus must be on “SOLUTION” to the problems American Families faces daily. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the next 36 hours, the McCain campaign will be pouring millions of dollars — if not tens of millions — into negative attack ads against Barack Obama. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before John McCain accepts the Republican nomination on Thursday, his campaign has to spend every last dollar of primary funds they’ve raked in from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just yesterday, they aired a new negative ad in 14 swing states. His campaign manager even admitted that all McCain has to rely on is attacks, saying that for them, “This election is not about issues.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He doesn’t want Americans to notice that the Republican platform is the most extreme we’ve ever seen — opposing stem cell research, denying a woman’s right to choose no matter what the circumstance, and continuing to spend $10 billion a month in Iraq. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With so much at stake, we can’t allow another election to be determined by petty and divisive political tactics ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The McCain campaign is trying to distract voters from the real issues. ~~~~~~~~
They’ve come out against the life-saving possibilities of stem cell research. ~~~~~~~~~~~
They don’t even mention protecting equal pay for equal work. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They support huge tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% of Americans. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They’ve almost completely ignored the $10 billion we’re spending every month in Iraq. ~~~~~~~~~~~~
And they make zero exceptions for a woman’s right to choose — even in cases of ~%#?, incest, or to protect the life of the mother. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If that all sounds like more of the same, that’s because it is. John McCain is offering a third term of the disastrous Bush agenda, so it’s no wonder his campaign would choose to focus on attacks instead of issues. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Obama for President and Biden for Vice President! ~~~ 08
Drevelyn Minor~Dallas,TX:
If you were focused you’d no that we done discussed all those issues already.
So all that long ass posting was unecessary.
Obama/Biden Nov. 4, 08
Sarah Palin spoke tonight, it was like watching a bad football game with all blind cheerleaders. I only caught the last 15 minutes but it’s really eerie how all those white folks get so excited about that ole senile man and that slick hussy. My god, my god. It reminded me of the living dead movies with all those zombies.
OBAMA/BIDEN 08
After just watching the Sarah Palin interview I can say as a Obama supporter I would not vote for the Republican ticket but Sarah Palin held her own and took our ticket to town. Be clear if you support Obama now is the time to mobilize to make sure that the platform of the Republicans does not become that of America. This election just got a whole lot more interesting. Obama is going to need our support because the Republicans are rallying around this woman like she is the female second coming of Ronald Reagan. Continue to debate the issues but now is the time for less talk and more action. Make sure that you’re donating to the Obama campaign financially. Make sure you’re getting your friends and family registered to vote. The most important thing is make sure we get out and vote.
4changen08, I do think that Palin will match the level of Ronald Reagan.
Palin represents a new age in the Republican Party. Palin sends goosebumps to many of us Republicans.
She fights corruption. She is pro-life. She is a solid conservative that many Republicans are feeling identification.
Sarah Palin is the future of the Republican party. God bless her.
She is totally right about energy.
McCain-Palin 2008!!!
Country First!!!
