(ST. PAUL, MINN.) Sept. 2, 2008 – So what’s up with John McCain’s running mate? Is there anything else she would like to share with the American people before she accepts the nomination here at the Republican National Convention?
Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin disclosed Monday that her 17-year-old, unmarried daughter is five-months pregnant. Did McCain’s search committee know about this when she was selected for the ticket. I doubt it, because they would never have thought this would remain a secret.
It’s pretty clear: McCain did not know much about Palin when he selected her to share the presidential ticket. But the pregnancy report is the second discovery in as many days raising questions about the Alaska governor’s choice as a running mate.
On Monday it was disclosed that Palin had hired an attorney to represent her and her husband in a state ethic’s probe. The investigation is underway to determine whether Palin dismissed Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan after he refused to fire her brother-in-law, a state trooper who was involved in a bitter divorce from Palin’s sister.
So what else is going to be uncovered about the first-term governor?
Palin and her husband Todd released a statement on Monday confirming and acknowledging their daughter’s pregnancy. “Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents,” the statement read.
They also announced the baby is due in December and that their daughter will marry the child’s father. The campaign declined to reveal the father’s full name or age, only referring to him as “Levi.”
It’s too early to tell what impact these revelations will have on the campaign, but it has to bring into question Palin policy views opposing sex education and supporting abstinence only polices.

Truth:”Pregnant 17 year old daughter….likes shooting animals for fun…sounds like a redneck to me!”
Now let’s make it “Pregnant 13 year old daughter …crack dealer son … sounds like a [******] to me.
Good luck Patrick, you will need it, I’m out
You know i try so hard to be respectful on this blog but i cant take it anymore. now there are allot of good people on here but i am tired of these uneducated people on this blog insulting me because i am a black republican. its not worth the fight anymore if i am going to be called a trader, stupid, ignorant, slave, Ext. and be called a divider because i wont vote for a black person. well excuse the hell out of me because i look at the issues and the record. i believe what i believe and should be respected but since these reckless people on this blog keeps up the ignorance and the disrespect and hatefulness against other blacks just because they are republicans, then i feel no more to be obligated to be respectful. I don’t hate my race, i love my race but i also love everybody else as well. people on this blog talk about Unity but they blog hatefulness against whites. maybe people forget that racism runs both ways. I cant believe that black people want a black Prez. so bad that they will become “anti-White” and full of hate. the evidence is here on this blog right now. Look what happened to the Clintons. If Obama wasnt running then we will be praising the Clintons right now and you know it. But anyway i hope people leave Palin along cause she is a good mother to her children. her son is about to go to Iraq, he is 19. Her daughter is about to be 18 and married. Atleast she didn’t Abort the baby. people want to talk about Family values on here and bash this women because she wants a career. If anything she has values because her family is sticking together and having this baby and thats what i call family values. So really she will have just 3 children left, 2 little girls and a baby with down syndrome. that’s just one more than what Obama has. She has a husband and Family. her children will have the best of care when she is not around. what about Obama. can he be a good father. you know kids do need a father figure in there lives as well. Talk about the sexism from these liberals
Oh and MLK jr. was a republican, think about that for a moment
working class white guy:
sounds like somebody hit a nerve with you. is your trailer rockin
robert,
Grow up and stop being so sensitive. You love McCain/Biden and some of us love Obama/Biden. Supporting Obama does not make one anti-white it means we are independent thinkers not allowing the Republican Party to think for us. Most of us have looked at the issues and decided that we want to give Obama a chance since the other option (McCain) is so unacceptable for this country. Just like some of you choose McCain based on viewssome of us choose Obama based on views. A person’s political beliefs and opinions have nothing to do with level of education. As for Palin, she is even more unacceptable than McCain and her so-called family values are a joke in Alaska and the US. It always amazes me that some of you McCain supporters are accusing Obama supporters of voting for Obama because he’s black but a lot of you are your not voting for him for the same reason. It’s the pot calling the kettle black. And of course some of us would be voting for Hillary Clinton if Obama had not won. Aren’t you republicans voting for the republican candidate? The republican convention was boring as hell until Palin got on then it was merely entertaining. Republicans use the word “celebrity” and “messiah” to describe the Democrats’ attitude toward Barack Obama in a negative way BUT that is exactly how Republicans have come to view Palin. It was ridiculous, no matter what she said they were clapping just for the sake of clapping. I guess they were just excited to have a young energetic, coherent person speaking for the republican party. I was not impressed with her performance.
ok, Robert,
Most blacks were Republican back then, that aint nothing new!!!!! From the Civil War Era, of when the Republican Party was formed by Abe Lincoln, up until the Civil Rights Act was signed…..
Robert
MLK was not a republican. That is just another lie put out by the republican party.Even MLK’s children knew that.
You did not hear the key word on why McCain pick her. It wasn’t because she was a women or she over shadow his age. The key word is OIL. Thats what she does in Alaska. Thats so the republicans can keep these oil prices high. And running this country is not like playing hockey.
Robert, do not give up. It is tiem for black Republican to stop throwing our hands up because the Democratic brownshirts verbally attack us.
Black Democrats should accept us at the table without ad hominem attacks, non sequitirs, or vulgarity.
However, that will never happen. They despise that we even exist.
No matter who likes it or not. I am a proud Republican conservative.
Pro-life!
Drill here! Drill now! Pay less!
Cut taxes for 100% of America (not just 95%)!
McCain-Palin 2008!!!
Country First!!!
Patrick
If taxes were cut 100% how would the quagmire in the middle east be financed ? Think about it.Disagreement is not confrontation so who is really the brown shirts when holyrollers are constantly trying too sholve their religious beliefs down people who question those beliefs. It makes no difference what a person’s beliefs are because thre are many beliefs and that is all they are.
Can Palin relate to Black Americans? Let’s face it — the black population in AK in around 5%. Also, none of her governor pics show anyone remotely black or hispanic. I wonder who she REALLY feels about us.
Karen I sa one black woman in the video when she won the gov. pace – JUST ONE !!!
I must have missed something cause I ain’t see no blacks. Not real blacks, maybe a few aunt jemima’s, a couple of uncle toms’s and a few house slaves. But nah, no real blacks.
And another thing ROBERT, WHAT PAPER’S ARE YOU READING, MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. OR ANY KING FAMILY MEMBERS WERE NOT REPUBLICANS, PLEASE KNOW YOUR HISTORY AND FACTS BEFORE POSTING SUCH UNTRUE AND DUMB LIES. WHICH YOU ARE, REPULBICANS LIED OFCOURSE. And please tell me ROBERT, what are PALIN AND MCCAIN DOING FOR YOU. ARE THEY HELPING YOU WITH YOUR BILLS, THEY DON’T GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT YOU, OR HAVE YOU FORGOTTON, YOURE NOT WHITE, YOU MAY KISS THEIR ASS, BUT YOURE NOT THEIR COLOR!!!!!!!!!!!REMEMBER THAT
I believe in a woman’s right to any career. Yet my Mother set my needs over precedence over her career. The realities of special needs parenting would be enough for Most mothers. Once you’ve chosen to have children, and your infant has special needs, and your Teen age daughter is Knocked UP, who needs you more? Your family or your job?
ARE THESE THE NEW REPUBLICAN FAMILY VALUES? THE SAME VALUES THAT IMPEACHED CLINTON FOR LYING ABOUT A BLOW JOB? BUT REFUSE TO IMPEACH BUSH FOR LYING ABOUT WMD AND BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR THOUSANDS OF LOST LIVES AND LIMBS.
Here is the thing that bothers me the most the fact that the Rep picked Palin was because she is a woman and they think that woman are that dumb that we would vote for a woman vp even if she doens’t represent our views. Sarah Palin doesn’t not speak for me nor does she stand for what I stand for that is why she would not get my vote!
LadyofWisdom, originally, the King family was actually Republicans. They drifted away and supported the Democrats beginning with Kennedy and Johnson.
It is a great disservice for black republicans to state that MLK was a Republican.
MLK was not the typical Republican. MLK Sr. was an active Republican for a while. However, MLK did not support Barry Goldwater.
My good gracious, Obamacrats. Why so much vitriol?
Sarah Palin is a solid Christian woman that people should stop criticizing her daughter.
You Obamacrats have no decency attacking that woman’s daughter. No shame at all.
Then you add salt to the wounds by questioning her motherhood.
I though you Dems were all about working mothers. I guess now you are not.
The main reason why Palin was chosen because she was a conservative that will rally the base of the GOP.
And it has done the job!!!
McCain-Palin 2008!!!
Country First!!!
Palin is a liar and talks out of both sides of her face while the rest of the GOP just smile, nod and clap. Instead of talking about the REAL issues she chooses to insult Obama with LIES and UNTRUTHS:
PALIN SAID:
“There is much to like and admire about our opponent. But listening to him speak, it’s easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform _ not even in the state senate.”
THE TRUTH IS:
Obama has worked with Republicans to pass legislation that expanded efforts to intercept illegal shipments of weapons of mass destruction and to help destroy conventional weapons stockpiles. The legislation became law last year. To demean that accomplishment would be to also demean the work of Republican Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, a respected foreign policy voice in the Senate. In Illinois, he was the leader on two big, contentious measures in Illinois: studying racial profiling by police and requiring recordings of interrogations in potential death penalty cases. He also successfully co-sponsored major ethics reform legislation.
PALIN SAID:
“The Democratic nominee for president supports plans to raise income taxes, raise payroll taxes, raise investment income taxes, raise the death tax, raise business taxes, and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars.”
THE TRUTH IS:
The Tax Policy Center, a think tank run jointly by the Brookings Institution and the Urban Institute, concluded that Obama’s plan would increase after-tax income for middle-income taxpayers by about 5 percent by 2012, or nearly $2,200 annually. McCain’s plan, which cuts taxes across all income levels, would raise after tax-income for middle-income taxpayers by 3 percent, the center concluded. advertisement
Obama would provide $80 billion in tax breaks, mainly for poor workers and the elderly, including tripling the Earned Income Tax Credit for minimum-wage workers and higher credits for larger families.
He also would raise income taxes, capital gains and dividend taxes on the wealthiest. He would raise payroll taxes on taxpayers with incomes above $250,000, and he would raise corporate taxes. Small businesses that make more than $250,000 a year would see taxes rise.
Go Obama!
And where were all these black republicans on tv the other night. I saw a few but not enough for all the shyt you talkin on this blog. And where is the love among the republicans McCain and Palin greeting was not real at all. Obama and Biden were genuine in their greeting. Like real people! McCain and Palin seem like actors cause they can’t be serious.
