A Baby On Board the Republican Ticket?

Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and three of her five children. By Pamela Gentry, Senior Poltical Producer

(ST. PAUL, MINN.) Sept. 2, 2008 – So what’s up with John McCain’s running mate?  Is there anything else she would like to share with the American people before she accepts the nomination here at the Republican National Convention?

Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin disclosed Monday that her 17-year-old, unmarried daughter is five-months pregnant.  Did McCain’s search committee know about this when she was selected for the ticket.  I doubt it, because they would never have thought this would remain a secret.

It’s pretty clear: McCain did not know much about Palin when he selected her to share the presidential ticket.  But the pregnancy report is the second discovery in as many days raising questions about the Alaska governor’s choice as a running mate.

On Monday it was disclosed that Palin had hired an attorney to represent her and her husband in a state ethic’s probe. The investigation is underway to determine whether Palin dismissed Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan after he refused to fire her brother-in-law, a state trooper who was involved in a bitter divorce from Palin’s sister.

So what else is going to be uncovered about the first-term governor?

Palin and her husband Todd released a statement on Monday confirming and acknowledging their daughter’s pregnancy.  “Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We’re proud of Bristol’s decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents,” the statement read.

They also announced the baby is due in December and that their daughter will marry the child’s father.  The campaign declined to reveal the father’s full name or age, only referring to him as “Levi.”

It’s too early to tell what impact these revelations will have on the campaign, but it has to bring into question Palin policy views opposing sex education and supporting abstinence only polices.

I agree wholeheartedly with Esther. I don’t get why everyone is saying Palin’s family/personal life has no bearing on weather she is capable of maintaining a beneficial vice presidency. Hell, even Obama is taking a very, in my opinion overly benignant approach to the situation. Fact is, Palin’s family troubles (daughter and sister) as of late show exactly how either the republican stance on family matters is outright flaud or how they should somehow not be responsible for maintaining and upholding THIER OWN standards, which is even more flaud. Its hypocricy at its finest.

wow.”Palin is a solid christian woman”. thats almost as pathetic as oh say, Palin would make a good VP.come on man! oh,and by the way a true prolife supporter would never support any war effort as that is the most vile anti life effort imaginable..let that marinate round your pea brain a little taste and while thats going on,keep in mind that you were just introduced to Mary Ann from gilligan’s island this past friday.
and everyone’s convinced that she the greatest thing since SOUL MUSIC.what half witted silliness.the truth is,
Mcplain made a bad choice for a running mate period. in his zeal to @*~~@$ the thunder from
Obama by somehow linking this ex mayor of Whoville
with the 18 million Hillary Clinton female supporters is presumptuous at best and at worst outright
idiotic.you can’t appeal to that support base on the faulty premise that,”hey your a woman so am i
give me your vote.” especially if Palin’s ethics is a glaring and painfully sharp contrast from what Hillary’s female
sisterhood of the traveling pantsuit clan believes. and why is she attacking Obama? i think the VP debate IS between her and Biden.{SEE? she’s not even sure who her opponent is}and poor Mcplain.he’s really reching oh ahem, excuse me REACHING in his PATHETIC political ads.quoting newspaperes no one has heard of or gives a dam about AND out right lying. he wants to distance himself from Bush because he knows the “obamacrat” party base is way more numerous than the McPlain one. if it werEnt he would stand
proud against his 90% voting with bush record.i mean going to see the Dalai Lama when all eyes were focused on Obama’s world tour?!! id bet even the Dalai Lama was like,”what the hell is this geriatric doing here and where’s Obama?then the kicker is characterizing Obama as merely just a good speech maker.hahaha.ok lets knock this one out right quick for
our republican/McPlain haters and cry babies who took time out from enjoying their android fest of a convention to come over and hang with the change train for a sec.ok, look. everyone knows these are painful, serious and stressful times for americans.a wise and just leader speaks to not only the intellect but the spirits and hearts of the people.especially now! for example,
in recent years, the repubes most beloved champion was ronald reagan right? thats common knowledge.now reagan was such a keen orator that someone christened him with the nickname,”the great communicator” who could forget the speech at the Berlin wall when he said “mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall” or something to that effect. point is,he spoke to the hearts and spirits of the people at the moment.a snapshot
in history no doubt.now Obamam says tear down the walls between the sexes, the walls of classism, racism and financial discord. when he does this the repubes say ,”aw its just good speechwriting” no. THATS WISE LEADERSHIP. something that Mcplain will never get. he knows it so his platform becomes a tired not ready to lead rallying call.
Obama, not ready to lead..hahaha. well ive come up with a list of my own of what Mc plain IS ready for, check it

MCcain: ready for depends.

ready for denture adhisive.

ready to take a nap.

ready for geritol.

ready for viagra.

ready to
kick the bucket
buy the farm.
shoe the dam horse
croak over at any minute.

ready to make a horrible choice
for a running mate.

ready for grecian formula number 5

ready for a walker.

ready to keep polishing Obama’s
jock.

but ready to lead?????????

hahahaha…

now back to your pathetic same suit wearing
android repube fest.and remember, when all you neaderthal mind @?~~? stepford wives festivitiescomes to a creaking halt.and Obama
is elected president, after nov 3rd.{cause really you know as well as anyone that this is just tiddly winks until then}you be sure to pronounce his name correctly now ya hear? because the moment one of you rednecked androids even mutter the word bama instead of Obama;lets just say the the back hand pimp smack will come hard and swift.that goes for Carlton from the fresh prince of Belair assed black repubes as well.. by the way, what do they repubes call black supporters
of their party’s platform? a ni&$er thats what they call him. think about that Robert or you can check working class white guy’s post if you’re in need of a more direct reminder…..

After watching the RNC last night, I thought I was watching “Comedy Central” but less comical with Phalin, as well as Juliani!!! I was expecting to hear the issues at hand. Like, foreign issues, health insurance, foreclosures, gas, food etc.

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY….OBAMA 08 LOOKS GR888!!

Okay Robert I’m really going to need you to go back to Grammar school and learn how to speak proper English and spell correctly before you come to a website and try to insult people. Have a good day!!

This year’s choice can be sum up in this:

Either a war hero that risked his life for this country or a community organizer?

I am going with the war hero.

McCain-Palin 2008!!!

seschris Said on

Patrick N. Washington,

That war hero stuff is getting worn out. Move into the current era. Tradition politics doesn’t work anymore. Community organizers have done and still do a lot for this country and to minimilize their role is a disservice to ALL.

OBAMA/BIDEN 08!!!

Allison Said on

I don’t see why some are attacking Mrs. Palin because of her daughters pregnancy. The Black community should know better than anyone that regardless of a parent’s values, kids today have their own agenda and teen pregnancy is rampant in this nation. As for “sex education” in our schools, the intention is good, but the RESULTS seem to be MORE unplanned pregnancies. Why? Because the teachers are saying, “go ahead and have sex” (to the unmarried) “but use protection.” Unfortunately, they only do the “go ahead” part. How about a good ol’ fashioned MARRIAGE & FAMILY CLASS!

clint Said on

Patrick,

No, this year’s choice can be summed up in this:

4 more of years Bush, or 4 years of No Bush!!!!

I’ll take the 4 years of No Bush!!!!

Obama-Biden 08

Patrick N. Washington Said on

I do not care what year it is. A war hero will always be respected over some community organizer.

Most reasonable people will not easily dismiss a man’s military service for his country. That is timeless.

I never heard of anybody being lifted up to the presidency because he was a community organizer.

McCain-Palin 2008!!!

Clint/seschris
Gen Barry McCaffery Ret.from the U.S.Army,a man who gets under McCain’s skin said that being a war hero doe not make aybody,McCain included ready too lead.McCain bristled when he got word of that.Anyway I realize that we are wasting our time with Patrick, aperson who judgement seems too be clouded because he doen’t seem too realize time moves forward.I wonder if he knows wht year it is.

seschris Said on

HEEELLLLOOOOO:

WHY ARE THERE STILL 8 MILLION BLACK VOTERS NOT REGISTERED YET???

seschris Said on

Patrick,

First, McCain is respected as a POW but how long can he ride that train. What he did back them will not help the country today. He was captured and he survived for 5 years. Okay he got his metal right…now, back to 2008. How does his POW status affect the high price of gasoline, health care crisis, mortgage/foreclosure issues, etc….
Let me break it down for you…the aspirin I took last month will not help my migraine today. Get my point? Also, being a POW does not qualify one for foreign policy relations or to lead a country; especially at his old age.

Second, don’t make the mistake of diminishing the important role of community organizers/leaders. There a many, many past and present community organizers that have helped this country significantly. If you need I will provide a list of the notable ones.

Finally, a community organizer is a more respectable former occupation for a potential president than a second rate actor in cowboy movies (Ronald Reagan; another Republican).

McClain would have made a better VP choice by selecting Ms Rice{who is Bush Sidekick}She has more on the cap then this lady. But them again Ms Rice is Black,,hummmmmmmmmmm

Calling Sarah PAlin a Trophy VP is kind of Sexist. Being MAyor of WAsilla Alaska and Gov. requires more Executive Experience.

Being part of the NRA she probably can shoot most of your asses here. ANd kick OBama’s Ass at the Basketball court. She use to play for the Basketball team in 1984 and called her “Sarah Baracuda”

clint Said on

Mark,

I am tired of Hearing about Sarah Palin .
If anyone concerned she have pissed off the Clintons and they back on the band wagon to destroy her.
I am going to feel sorry because you dont mess with a woman that been scorned.
This going to be a good election because they going to battle it out.
I know Hillary going to win because she dont have the class to handle Hillary.
If she is smart she might need to Bow down and end the show because this wha this turning out to be.

codycbaker Said on

Double Standards: BET and TV One apparently decided that with Obama already pulling 90-95% of the black vote, they needn’t bother turning any precious airtime over to McCain. In fact, all four nights of the Democratic convention aired on both networks. The GOP convention didn’t air at all. Yet, with less coverage, McCain set a new ratings record.

Patrick N. Washington Said on

The Palin choice was great. This has energized the Republican party.

Right now, Palin is even more popular than Obama.

No way! No Obama!!!

Clint:Man your last comment made me spit up
my juice hahaha!!that was classic bro.

and abdullah,i actually thought when Mccain
was announcing his running mate and he mentioned the word”she” i figured it was condoleeza.hmmmmmm
is right man, choosing a more qualified woman like
her would go against his um “conservative values”and patrick, patrick,patrick.hehe.
first off i dont believe youre black.haha but thats besides the point.what i wanted to say is we may rib you a little on your political stance and all but i do respect your opinions though i strongly disagree
with them.i have to say you held your composure and dignity throughout the blog maylay. you give you say and even back it up with what you preceive as fact.{again,i may not agree with them}
but its very commendable brotha.and this quality is what most americans admire about senator Obama.he took the media scrutiny, the hillary verbal attacks and put downs and now the shots from Mcain/palin and still, withstood the storms firing back with reasoning and uprightness even when he had a shot to bring down the fire and brimstone hammer on Palin and her family’s situation he chose not to. again, the high road of dignity and strong positive wise leadership taken.a sharp opposition to the old political play book of destroy your opponent whenever possible even if lies are the order for the day.
now Patrick, even you have to admit that most politicians wouldnt have taken that route yeah?
now my last post ribbed Mccain on his age and what not,but i have to give credit on the part of his speech where he acknowledged Obama and his many supporters for how far we’ve come. I also admired when he said,we’re all americans.it was gracious of him. now i didnt hear any solid plans of action when it came to the ecconomy. he stuck to his strong suit, which is the warmonger stance
and fear tactics.. he voted with bush 90% of the time so he’s part and parcel with the ongoing fuel problem the country endures. thats not maverickism. thats following in droal complacentcy.but thats just my opinion.it’ll be an interesting few weeks. i do believe the Obama/Biden ticket will prevail.and popularity polls mean nothing.the fluctuating ratios are too pendulum like. i never trust em even if my candidate is ahead.{and he is by 8 %as of friday}
again;it fluctuates daily.it depends on the region of the country.some areas they”re neck in neck.other areas mccain leads.while still other regions Obama lead. i also strongly refuse to believe that over 8 million black voters are not registered.i suspect its a pre set up situation to disenfranchise the minority vote with absentee ballotism,{which are hardly if ever counted }faulty voting machine tactics, purposefully running out of ballots etc. read the book,”WHAT HAPPENED IN OHIO” and you’ll understand why i say this. plus, i went through the situation during Kerry/bush election;being a resident of Ohio myself.no matter. again, the Obama/Biden ticket will prevail!!! keep swinging Patrick!
and protect your neck hahaha

OBAMA/BIDEN IN 08!!!
