Obama’s Economic Team Debut

Nov. 24, 2008 — President-Elect Barack Obama moved one step closer to putting his economic plan into motion by announcing the key leadership post who will now be responsible for making his economic plans a reality.
Flanked by his veep, Obama told reporters, “Today, Vice President-Elect Biden and I are pleased to announce the nomination of four individuals who meet these criteria to lead our economic team: Timothy Geithner as Secretary of the Treasury; Lawrence Summers as the Director of our National Economic Council; Christina Romer as Chair of the Council of Economic Advisors; and Melody Barnes as Director of the Domestic Policy Council. “
Obama said he understands the enormity of the task and has asked his team to move forward swiftly. “Again, this won’t be easy. There are no shortcuts or quick fixes to this crisis, which has been many years in the making – and the economy is likely to get worse before it gets better.
As if tempering his and the expectation of the American people, he added, “A full recovery won’t happen immediately.”
Managing expectations won’t be easy, but at least its a start.

When you figure it out; enlighten me as well. I have yet to understand this person’s comments and I have just about given up. She’s all over the place; is this a language barrier, a lack of education, a mental health issue or just confusion?

i think all of the above sechris.. its annoying when viacom encourage touts to come on to solicite so shamelessly . i have noticed that there are many promoting dating websites on here ..they must be paid by the amount of promotions they put on the various websites… it doesnt mean they are blacks doing it.. just people looking for a way of earning some easy money…

one of the reasons blacks are not taken seriously are those type of stupid touting posts that do them no favours at all.
I am encouraged by Baracks economic team….most of them are pro-growth, anti-taxes , free-traders and right-of-center( ALL But Summers would be just as comfortable serving a Repub). In fact, the markets have rallied since announced his selections.

I am particularly fond of Romer who has a vast paper trail of studies noting the damages of increasing taxes during a recession.
