Obamas Making Millions

April 16, 2009 – The first family is doing pretty well when it comes to income, according to the Obamas’ 2008 tax return. The president and his wife made $2.7 million last year.
While this year the president’s salary will be $400,000 for his day job, last year’s million-dollar take was from his two best-selling books. Michelle spent most of her time on the campaign trail, but the couple filed jointly and she added $62,707 from her executive job at the University of Chicago Hospital.
This isn’t bad for two folks from such humble beginnings.
But would you believe the Obamas made millions less in 2008 than they did in 2007? Why? Because in 2007 his books were flying off the shelves during the early days of his campaign for the presidency and he racked up $4.2 million.
The two best-selling books, “Dreams from My Father” and “The Audacity of Hope” were goldmines for the Obamas. The White House released the first family’s federal income tax filing on Wednesday.
Now don’t forget the former senator’s salary. Obama also made a little cash before moving down the street to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue; he earned $139,204 as senator from Illinois last year before the November election.
The couple did have a few deductions, like the interest on their south side Chicago home, but their total federal tax came to $855,323, about 32 percent of their adjusted gross income of $2,656,902.
It looks like the Obamas will be part of the group of folks his economic plan will target to pay higher taxes.

Why can’t we see Bush tax form? A black president is in now the rules change.
What about the 600 million he made from his presidential campaign, even if he had to pay 400 million to his help he would still clear 200 million. Did not the media say Obama got the most money running for president in history, where did that money go?
Its really sad how everyone wants to concern themselves with How much money the Obamas made, What they did with their money, and Who they gave their money to. I bet if half the people put this much energy into firguing out where the hell all the money Bush made over the past 8 years and what he did with it, I’m willing to bet we as a country can understand why we are in trillions of dollars of debt. Now….Somebody show me Bush tax returns and go from line to line and scrutinize everything he has done and where he spent his money!
IF MR OBAMA WERE NOT HONEST ABOUT HIS TAXES HE WOULD NOT HAVE BECOME PRESIDENT!! THE SAME THING WOULD HVE HAPPEN TO THE PEOPLE HE TRIED TO PUT IN OFFICE !! THEY GOT THE BOOT BECAUSE THEY DID NOT PAY THEIR TAXES!! END OF STORY!!
We do what we can do about President Barack Obama is a politician and he likes it just I hope he puts the things in its place and that there is a step forward also as President.
Either; this is not a bubble of thought about that he won a lot of money but this is a law (The worker deserves his wages).

RED NECK HUNTER, Obama put Timothy Geighter in charge of the IRS and he is a tax cheat, and he is still there. The other tax cheats Obama nominated quit because they knew they did not deserve the post, but Obama would have stood by them anyway like Geighter.
Camile, we look at presidential candidates background because there are people who would love to put their own type of person in the office of President of the United States. If Obama received money from many big corporations looking for favors once he is in office you would be concerned I think or maybe not because everything is because of race with Black people.
Why is their tax return online? Is it really any of our business what they made or are making right now; No! We should just be excited and appreciative that we have such a humble, wonderful President and First Lady to represent our country as well as our race. I have not known another President’s tax return open to the public on the internet, Stop IT! Everything Is Not For The Public To See! Their signatures are on that too! That’s just not smart! Leave Them Alone!

Not all of us black people think everything happens to us because of our race, if you think about it that would be a terrible life. Most adults know that just because a person is black does not mean they are for black people. Obama is black by his father raised by white people he has no connection with black people and our histroy. Its hard for me to see Obama going to jail or getting beatup for black people like MLK. Obama is committed to blacks being slaves to welfare, and hispanics moving ahead of blacks on the social latter. We need to take care of our families,our communities, and our children and get rid of this getto attitude, it gets us nowhere.
So much ignorancce on this blog I’m speechless. Try reading something more than mad magazine before you actually post on a political blog next time idiots!
