Tennessee Democrats Still Steaming Over Racist E-Mail

June 22, 2009 – The Tennessee Democratic Party is still unhappy about what they call “a slap on the wrist” for Republican Senate staffer Sherri Goforth for her e-mail depicting President Obama in what was clearly “racist” context. The e-mail was sent to her Republican colleagues but leaked to a local blogger.
The e-mail titled as a “keepsake” and circulated by Gofoth feature photographs of all the presidents, except Obama, in the place for his photo was an entirely black box with two white eyes.
Still outraged over the incident, Tennessee Dems decided to place a copy of the reprimand letter written to Goforth by her boss, Senate Republican Caucus Chairman Diane Black on their website.

This reprimand isn’t hard hitting, it gives Goforth more praise than criticism and almost sounds like a letter of recommendation.

…You know this is just ONE more display of IGNORANCE that continues to try to set us back… I was prepared while reading this FOOLISHNESS to just GO the HELL OFF and speak on what I TRULY feel– However, its enough just sitting in an office where I work for a Fortune 100 company where TO THIS DATE– 6/22/09– I have YET to hear the word “PRESIDENT.” SAAAD, sooo sad. I’ll leave ALLLLL the IGNORANT, DISGRUNTLED NAYSAYERS with three words: “GET OVER IT!!!!” …Barack is OUR PRESIDENT NOW– and for the NEXT 8 YRS, too so move on with your self hatred and ignorant azz statements regarding the ONLY sense of HOPE we’ve ever had in this nation. EMBRACE it… ’cause MY PREZ AIN’T GOING NO DAYUM WHERE. …How ’bout that?? (SMILES!!) I LOVE YOU, BARACK!!!!
This world will not get better until people like her is exposed. Me personally I don’t think the whole republican party is bad, but need a little work. If you are a up right person don’t support her immature jokes! I hope 1 day ppl can over come petty stuff like racisim. It is so not important the color of persons skin, because we all have faults regardless of our color! A lot of times we view things the same way, because we fail to challenge the way we think! Just a few words of wisdom!
…OH- By the way, MY PEOPLE… Let’s be very clear in knowing that if it was “US” who would have sent out such FOOLISHNESS– regarding the white race, ESPECIALLY from the workplace– TRUST me you would’ve been shown the door very quickly. …Ask yourself… “When was the last time you’ve known one of US to receive a “slap on the wrist”?? …(AND I’m NOT talking about O.J.)
I want to hear what black republicans think about some of the emails and jokes coming out of the GOP?
I guess she thinks of our President as a blockhead! This is one of the reasons our world is so screwed up! The President doesn’t do things out of the blue. At least he’s listening to his people in the White House and to his country. He’s letting all of us know what he’s doing and gives his reasons for doing so. We were never privy to what past presidents were doing before it was done.
