About
“Pamela on Politics” is one of the first political blogs created to comment on Washington politics from the African-American perspective. BET News Senior Political Producer Pamela Gentry kicked off the blog in the days following Hurricane Katrina to report on the outrage and frustration felt by Black lawmakers because of the slow federal response to the tragedy.
The blog has become a sounding board for Black Americans to ask tough questions of their lawmakers; an eye that examines the impact Washington policy has on readers’ lives; and a front-row ticket pass to one of the most historic and exciting presidential races in American history.
The blog’s author pulls in her broadcast experience to create informative, clear-cut and thought-provoking commentary on issues being addressed by the United States Congress and the White House.
To insure her coverage offers more than other mainstream media outlets, she always includes the perspective of African-American national and local elected officials as well as political watchers and Black policy experts. The goal is always to deliver accurate and compelling coverage as well as include underreported stories and insider information on breaking news stories.

How are you Ms. Gentry.
I just read your political blog today, and was very much impressed by it. I am new to the world of blogging but would like some feedback or advice on how to improve my political blog.

Thank You
Thanks for your comments. I’m new at this as well, but I do enjoy the communication tool. I’ll check out your blog as well. Feel free to join the conversation. Thank You Pamela
dear Pamela ,what is up with little or no participation when it comes to politics???? am i to believe more care about who’s album is dropping than what WILL effect them ???? politics i mean. I thoroughly enjoy checking on comments made and replying. where is everybody???? this is one of the few sites i blog because i am interested in where black people are on these issues not to just agree or disagree but just to see why in the answers whether thought is involved or just plain same old opinions expected.I am here to challenge old ideals ,excuses and thoughts and create dialog not indifference towards any, where is everyone???dont they care???further more i also want to challenge thoughts on who we elect and why.where are they Ms.Gentry???
I find myself asking the same question. Before we used this blogging tool we had a “discuss now” option for users and they commented daily. I’m hoping once they learn how to use this tool they will respond and provide feedback. We offer a point of view on BET that isn’t seen on other websites – I think they will come to appreciate it once they sign on. Thanks for your participation.
Hello, I recently receive an email on the JENA 6. It was really upsetting. It’s about 6 black teens who were expelled from school, arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder. This happen last fall in Jena,Louisiana. There’s alot to this story and this is a story that needs to be heard. The website is http://www.colorofchange.org/jena/?id=2019-228436.
Please take a look at this site and hopefully bring this situation the media attention it needs. One of the 6 has already been sentenced, Please take the time and look into it.
It’s a story that reads like one from the Jim Crow era.
Thanks for your time

Shame on you for making a politcal thing of Ted Nugent into a racist story witch is not true. Get your facts right.
Vincent,
If you read carefully I did not. I simply asked the question if a rapper had pointed guns on state and talked in threating manner toward a political figure what would the response have been? Pamela
Thanks pamela for your make you think opinions on here and as for vincent opinions. That person is a hater and should be look at as such.
