EUGENE, OREGON – Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell have officially been put on notice.

Tyson Gay is the man to beat heading into the 100 meters at Beijing.

Aided by some serious wind, Gay ran a 9.68 in the finals of the 100 at the U.S. Olympic Trials, setting a record for the fastest time under any conditions.

The previous record was held by Obadele Thompson of Barbados, who ran a 9.69 (>+5) in 1996.

Gay’s 9.68 is not a new world record because it was run with the help of a wind blowing at 4.1 meters per second.

Anything above 2.0 is not allowed.

Wind or no wind, Gay has sent a message to the rest of the track world with his performance here in Eugene.

The Jamacans have tallent but I don’t think they have the same strength as Gay when it comes to running all the rounds and the mental edge in the big races. Their Olympic trials don’t consist of the same amount of rounds as the US’s. If Bolt and Powell ran in these trials yesterday … they wouldn’t be yapping at each other as they crossed the line. I give a big edge to the American Sprinters and Gay in China!

When I saw this on the news and they were saying his time does not count because he had help from the wind. All I could do is shake my head. Just DANG..Give the man his props..Congrats TYSON..you were awesome in the race. Can’t wait to see you in China…WOW!!!

Usain Bolt or Asafa Powell will take the gold in China. And it’s not just because I’m from and living in Jamaica. It’s the truth. Nothing beats cornmeal porridge and steamed fish with okras. The food these kids grew up on has a lot to do with their abilities as athletes. Tell Tyson Gay to come eat some serious Jamaican food if he wants to pose a real challenge.

Jamaica is the sprint capital of the world therefore they produce only the best. Not even Jesus can come down from the cross and save Gay. No hard feelings the face is between Afasa and lightning bolt

If half of US athletes and half of the baseball fraternity weren’t on some sort of performance enhancing drugs then I would say congrats Mr. Gay(thanks a lot wind for blowing in my ass all the way down the track)… but hey, Bolt and Asafa are still toying with the times Gay is dreaming of. But guess what we are all talking about brothas of African decent

The wind wont save him in China!!!
