Is Taylor Not As Good As Advertised?

Maybe Jermain Taylor is not as good as advertised.
Or Kelly Pavlik really has his number.
Either way, “The Pride of Little Rock” was handed his second defeat in five months Saturday night in Las Vegas against Pavlik (33-0, 29 KOs).
The rematch Saturday was a non-title fight; Taylor had a contractual option in his contract for a rematch against Pavlik.
Instead of getting knocked out, Taylor (27-2-1) lost via unanimous decision, a choice that was an unpopular one for the fans at the MGM Grand Arena who booed Pavlik during his post-fight interview.
The judges scored it 117-111, 115-113 and 116-112 with many believing that Taylor had the fight won until the final rounds.
After handing Bernard Hopkins back-to-back losses in 2005, Taylor has stumbled in his attempt to dominate the middleweight division.
Winky Wright and Taylor battled to a draw in June 2006 and he needed to go the distance in bouts against Kassim Ouma and Cory Spinks.
It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Taylor in the middleweight division.

did you ever consider the possibility that maybe Pavlik is actually good?
we saw two good fights from these guys, why does one of them have to suck or be overrated? that’s boxing, there’s a winner and a loser. when two of the top guys fight, one of them still has to lose. doesn’t mean he is not a great fighter.
