LeBron James Taking Home MVP HonorsPublished by Marcus Vanderberg on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 10:02 am.
All hail King James.
The NBA will announce on Monday that Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is the 2008-09 Most Valuable Player.
According to sources, the announcement will be made at James’ alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio.
The MVP race came down to James, Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade, but it’s hard to argue LeBron shouldn’t take home his first award after leading his team to the best record in the NBA.
But if I were LeBron, I would have preferred they held off on announcing this award until after the playoffs.
You know this can’t sit well with Kobe, whether he thinks he deserved the award or not.
Can we just skip to June and start the NBA Finals already?
