First, it was Chris Carter, who is currently an NFL analyst for ESPN after his long tenure with HBO Sports, now it is Magic Johnson. However, I think this is a good move for him. He will do a good job for ESPN. Although Magic has retired from the game, it is still ‘SHOWTIME’ everytime he is on TV!

Did anybody notice Emmitt Smith’s “removal” from the Sunday NFL lineup on ESPN? Infer what you want, but I’m not sure what was acceptable on TNT flies on ESPN. I think Magic will be fine, but he might have to polish up a couple of things for longevity on the Worldwide Leader.

Magic Johnson on ESPN is a good move. The rivalry of the Lakers and Celtics is again the main topic of the NBA. Magic has been involved with the rivalry since 1984 when the Celtics beat L.A. in 7-games. To have Magic at the NBA Finals when the Celtics and Lakers have their Dunkadelic Dynasty Battle Volume #5 (1984,1984, 1987, 2008, 2009) release party this coming June it will be treat for all basketball fans old school and new school.
