Marion Jones Begins Prison Sentence

Marion Jones checked herself into federal prison and started her six-month sentence steaming from lying to investigators.
The former track and field star will serve her term at Friday at Federal Medical Center Carswell, located on the Naval Air Station, Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth, Texas.
Talk about a fall from grace.
Jones was on top of the world, by far the most popular athlete in track and field after winning three gold and two bronze medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
But after getting involved with the wrong guy, (Tim Armstrong) Jones found herself taking performance-enhancing drugs and was in the middle of a scheme to cash millions of dollars worth of stolen or forged checks.
Instead of confessing to taking steroids, Jones lied to the public and federal investigators, which is how she found herself sporting a prison jumpsuit instead of a track suit.
Along with the six months of prison time, Jones was sentenced 400 hours of community service in each of the two years following her release.
