Michael Vick Headed To The Eagles

Every dog has its day.

Even Michael Vick.

The quarterback has signed a two-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles according to ESPN.com

Eagles backup quarterback Kevin Kolb was injured earlier in the week and acted quickly in order to bring in a possible replacement for the backup role.

Not sure how Philly fan is going to feel about Vick on the Eagles.

Better yet, I wonder how Donovan McNabb feels about the signing?

At least once a season McNabb seems to get caught in a rough patch and the rumors begin about moving him to the bench.

I’m sure offensive coordinator Marty Morhinweg is back at the drawing board coming up with a few extra plays to incorporate both Vick and McNabb into the offense at the same time.

Hell, just line him up in the slot and tell Vick to go deep.

How do you think Vick will do in Philly once his suspension is over?

Update: PETA has added their two cents on the Vick signing:

PETA and millions of decent football fans around the world are disappointed that the Philadelphia Eagles have chosen to sign a man who hanged dogs from trees, electrocuted them with jumper cables, held them underwater until they drowned in his swimming pool, and even threw his own family dogs into the fighting pit to be torn to shreds while he laughed. What sort of message does this send to young fans who care about animals and don’t want to see them be harmed? PETA certainly hopes that Vick has learned his lesson and feels truly remorseful for his crimes—but since he’s given no public indication that that’s the case, only time will tell. At this point, all Eagles fans can do is cross their fingers and hope that they won’t ever have to explain to their sons and daughters what a “rape rack” is and why their favorite player was using one, as Falcons fans once had to.

I DEFINITELY DIDN’T SEE THIS MANY WHITES TALKING AGAINST THE OFFICERS THAT WERE CAUGHT BEATING DOWN RODNEY KING. WHITES SAID NOTHING ABOUT THEM BEING ETCH OUT OF SOCIETY OR PAYING FOR WHAT THEY HAD DONE. YOU KNOW WHAT WHITE AMERICA SAID? THOSE OFFICERS JUST USED BAD JUDGEMENT. SO I ASK YOU WHY CAN’T VICK HAVE USED BAD JUDGEMENT. SEEMS LIKE A DOUBLE STANDARD TO ME.

WHITE MEN BEAT DOWN A BLACK MAN ON TAPE. BUT THEY DESERVE A CHANCE TO FIX THEIR IMAGINE. WOW!!! THATS….THATS…AMERICA.

BLACK MAN INVOLVED WITH THE KILLING OF DOGS, NOT CAUGHT IN THE ACT, BUT SHOULD BE HUNG AND BURNED.

DON’T FORGET VICK ALMOST DID TWO YEARS. WHO MUCH TIME DID THOSE OFFICERS DO? PLEASE ENLIGHTEN ME!!! OR CORRECT ME.

I thought I was done – Bonamas – Ok so now were going to get a lecture about the Bible. Based on some of your blogs here I’m guessing your not as religious as you now want us to think. For the record..I don’t hate anyone. I have never hated anyone in my life and probably never will. That is an emotion I have never believed in. I did serve our country as a Military Policeman for 20 years and have seen and experienced things most people haven’t. So if I seem a bit upset here at times I guess I just can’t get past the senseless killing of inocent animals. I have a Golden retriever now and it is considered part of the family. I wouldn’t do that to a family member. If you looked into my dogs eyes just for a minute I’m guessing you would at least understand why I feel the way I do. I suspect you wouldn’t agree but maybe you would understand.

I WANT TO SAY THAT I AM VERY ELATED THAT MIKE VIC IS ON THE EAGLES TEAM! THAT JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU THAT THERE ARE STILL SOME COMPASSIONATE PEOOPLE LEFT IN THE WORLD. HOW BOUT THIS! GEORGE BUSH STARTED A WAR IN ANOTHER COUNTRY THAT DID NOT INVOLVE THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

NOW HIS ASS IS KICKING BACK IN THE STATE OF TEXAS AS IF IT’S ALL GOOD! WHY HAS HE NOT BEEN SENT TO PRISON THE THE MURDER’S OF THOUSANDS OF INNOCENT PEOPLE OVER IN IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN, ETC?

LET’S NOT MENTION THAT OLE BOY WAS THE GOVERNOR OF TEXAS AND WHILE IN OFFICE HE SINGLE HANDED ALLOWED THE EXECUTION OFOVER 253 DEATH ROW INMATES! ONE FORM OF MURDER IS NO GREATER THAN THE OTHER IN THE EYES OF GOD!

all you fools who keep trying to dog (no pun intended) this man out would have a good point if he didn’t go to jail, but he did and youR sinless A@## still hard on him. Everyone that’s on this blog talking about this man like a dog (again no pun intended) What will you want for yourself when you make your next mistake or wrong deed. Believe it or not you will do something wrong in youR life before you die. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF NO ONE WANTED TO GIVE YOU A CHANCE TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT.

HYPOCRITICAL BASTARDS!

liz Said on

EVERYONE KEEPS SAYING HE PAID THE PRICE FOR WHAT HE DID,
BULL CRAP. THE ONLY ONES THAT PAID, WERE THE POOR DOGS.
AND WHAT ABOUT A SECOND CHANCE, DO THE DEAD DOGS GET ONE? “NO” THEN WHY THE HELL SHOULD HE?
AND AS FAR AS THE COMMENT MADE SAYING GOD FORGAVE HIM SO WE SHOULD TOO. WHEN DID YOU BECOME GOOD FRIENDS WITH GOD THAT YOU KNOW WHO IS FORGIVEN AND WHO ISN’T?
DARN YOUR A MIRACLE IN ITSELF.
HE HAS NEVER TRULY SHOWN ANY REMORSE FOR WHAT HE DID.

Bonamus Said on

WOULD YOU FEEL BETTER IF HE WAS DEAD? IS THAT THE ANSWER? YOU PEOPLE ARE PITIFUL. YEAH WHAT HE DID WAS A HORRIBLE AND DISPECABLE THING, BUT IS THIS THE GREATEST OF ALL SINS, ARE IS IT JUST THE NARROW MINDED HUMAN BEING WHO BELIEVES IN CASTING STONES.

THAT IS THE MIND OF THE NARROW MINDED, HYPORCRITICAL, QUICK TO THROW STONES, BELIEVE YOUR SINS IS BIGGER THAN THEIRS, NEVER FORGIVE ANYONE, BUT WANTS TO BE FORGIVEN FOR THEIR BAD DECISIONS HUMAN BEINGS.

LET THE MAN PROVE HE CHANGED FIRST. IF HE DOESN’T SHOW CHANGE I WOULD LOVE TO BE THE FIRST TO SAY I WAS WRONG AND YOU JUDGEMENTAL HYPOCRITES WERE RIGHT. GIVE THAT MAN A CHANCE PERFECT PEOPLE.

if God forgave Vick then hewill be a force of good. “Exitus acta probat ” which means the outcome will prove the actions and i believe Vick will do good because he loves football and he loves his family. He will be a force of good i have faith you should too.

rich weiss Said on

EAGLES are the best team in the nfl now no question after this move

rich weiss Said on

It would be illogical for Vick to sacrifice his last opportunity to play in the NFL and his family. Its part of his contract that he needs to be proactive towards groups that help animals otherwise he is fired. Why would he risk that?

V Hill Said on

I am glad that this man has been given a chance to redeem himself. What was done to the animals was wrong. I just can’t understand the people who are mad because of him getting another chance to play football. He committed a crime and he did the time; what else do you people want? Let this man move on with his career in the NFL. No one walking this earth’s surface has gone their entire life without using poor judgement. Should the poor choices that you all have made cause you to have everything taken away? What about these hunters who go all over the world killing different animals to hang the heads over their fireplaces? What you think about those poor animals, they don’t even know what hit them. I understand killing animals for food, but how many really are killing for the food?

Bonamus Said on

V. Hill

I agree with you 100%. I wonder If they did something stupid and went to jail, wouldn’t they like a second chance. I betcha their answer would be yes. These people are complete hypocrites. If ya’ll want that man to burn for what he did so should we all for our sins. No one is perfect, probably except everyone whose bashing him. They never commited sins or did anything wrong in their life. High Horser!!!!

You know what the real problem is here! Bonamas for instance – I read through this whole blog. The real problem is you and most everyone, even me included. I sat back and thought about it for a moment. We can’t allow people to have their own opinions about this. If it isn’t what yours or mine is or whoever else is blogging here is, then we bash them for not believing what we believe. I’ve read some people talking about the bible, slavery, racism..come on people! We can voice our opinions here without bashing each other on top of it. We are all entitled to our opinions. Opinions which have been formed from years of lifes experiences and up bringing. So it’s inevitable that some of us are going to feel differently. That’s what makes this country so great! So maybe we should all stop and think for a moment about the next person who blogs his opinion here. He or she may not agree with what each of us believe but we all have the right to voice our opinons with bashing one another. From reading all of the entries here you can see everyone is pretty much split on how they feel about Michael Vik. I’m not going to be able to change their minds, Bonamas your not going to change their minds so lets say we allow everyone to say how they feel and not bash the living you know what out of them.

corrected version of my first entry. I messed a word up that made a difference in the meaning of the sentence………………………………….

Scott,

You are absolutely right. This is a free country and everybody is entitled to their own opinion. As for my part in this I do apologize to whomever I offended.
Only GOD can judge. Good points Scott.

I don’t know what race has to do with this. I don’t care if the guy is a purple Martian. What he did was horrible. Martin Luther King Jr. said not to judge a man by the color of his skin, but instead by the content of his character. Did Vick show good character when he hung and electrocuted poor dogs. No he did not! MLK would turn over in his grave if he saw all the praise this man was getting! The sentence he should have received was ten years, however he copped a plea bargain and got 24 months. Then still got released early. Do I think he truly paid his debt to society? No I do not. Do people really want someone with his morals and lack of good judgment in the public eye? Is this someone we want our children to admire? We wonder whats wrong with society yet we put people on pedestals who sing about “bitches and “hoes”, and abuse helpless living things. People are quoting the Bible. Perhaps Vick should read the Bible once in a while. Especially the part about loving all creatures great and small. I find it hard to believe that the Eagles can’t find a person for that position who really deserves the chance.

Peta and all the other animal lovers need to leave that stuff alone. It over and gone. Back in the sixties those same dogs were used to attack blacks, I didn’t read anything about their safety or rights or being abused back the. Mike did the crime and the time, let it go.

ttownclown Said on

i don’t think this is a race matter…just saying that from reading some of these blogs. i do think that Vick deserves another chance….the guy has paid his debt. Vick has last hundreds of millions of dollars and went to prison…what else do people want? admits that it took him a while to come to the point where he really realizes his actions were horrible. with that said…i don’t think the guy will be doing any more dog fighting. if you don’t want the man to make a living or have a good job…what’s the point of prisons and rehabilitation? do you not believe in letting a person have a second chance? or would you rather that person be forever punished…not even God does that….unless most of you be athiests.
