Sound Off: Mike McCarthy
August 5th, 2008
“The football team’s moving forward. The train has left the station, whatever analogy you want. He needs to jump on the train and let’s go. Or, if we can’t get past things that have happened, I have to keep the train moving.”
- Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy on quarterback Brett Favre.
That train is going to derail if Aaron Rodgers is the conductor.
Like him or not, Brett Favre proved last season he is still a Top 5 quarterback.
What has Rodgers proved?
That the Dallas Cowboys secondary is extremely soft during garbage time.
See ya in Minnesota, Brett.

How about, ‘See ya in Tampa Bay’! I was hoping that the Packers could resolve these issues and bring Brett back, but that is not going to happen. Meanwhile, it looks like he could be traded to Tampa Bay, which doesn’t make sense because they already have a veteran QB (Jeff Garcia)! The Green Bay Packers are in trouble!
cool guy, does he still hook up with those tall beauties on the tall dating site http://Tallmingle.com ???The last time I saw his profile is last monday, hope he does not leave.
This all could have been avoided if Brett Favre would have said what he meant and meant what he said about retiring. If he really didn’t want to retire, he shouldn’t have announced it.
Whoever is adding these bits about a tall dating site in these blogs, would you please stop it?
Chicago please wake up and get rid of those two bums called QB’s that you have and get Brett he is out there…. Let Go Bears..
I am sick to death of Brett Favre…He won a Superbowl, so have a lot of quarterbacks. He had a “magical” season last year if you call magical losing the division game in his own backyard. He is so use to the old owners letting him keep the organization on hold until he felt like letting them know he would return and now the new owners didn’t go for his crap this year. Let him go! Everyone keeps talking about him being the best option for Green Bay, but he could revert back to throwing more interceptions than touchdowns. No one brings that up. The Packers know that they are going to have to get Aaron Rodgers ready to play and they want to go forward. Brett thinks he is bigger than the organization. He is 39 years old and if Joe Montana can be traded or let go by an organization, then Brett sure can be!
I don’t blame brett favre for wanting to come back. He’s entitled to change his mind. Ask yourself this: If you had a chance to take one more chance at redemtion wouldn’t you take it. He will be fine whether he’s succeeding or failing where ever he ends up. No one should be passing judgement instead. If you’ve been a fan, stay a fan. And for all the haters of brett favre, you wouldn’t be saying what you say or thinking the way you do of him if he was on your team. Football players are people too. Though their bank roll is huge. They earn it every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday. And during playoff time Saturday as well.
I was born and raised in WI so I know very much about the Brett Farve era. He has been crowned, baptized, and ordained as the golden boy savior of football and green bay. He is the face of the NFL. He’s the next best thing since sliced bread. I cannot stand this man! He is selfish, he thinks he’s bigger than football and bigger than the Packers. He thinks he made Green Bay a legendary team. How about Vince Lombardi and Bart Starr nem did that! Green bay was legendary before Brett Farve was even thought of!!! He played 17 years and won ONE superbowl for them!!!!! One people! He is not all that great! He has been NOTHING since Mike Holmgren left people! NOTHING! He holds the all time record for interceptions! Last year was a total fluke year considering all the losing seasons we’ve had since the ‘96 super bowl win! If he were Tom Brady, someone who won 3 super bowls and is on his way to winning a 4th, then yes I would agree with the argument that he deserves to change his mind. Brett quit on Green Bay. He quit on the team with his selfish, egotistical, diva ways. He wasn’t counting on Green Bay calling his bluff and sending him packing which is what they needed to do. Regardless of what he did in the past, the last 12 years he’s been GARBAGE! He’s 38 years old and has maybe one more year left in him. He’s a HUGE risk with all the interceptions he throws. The Packers are doing right by looking towards the future. Yes we are going to have a losing season with Aaron Rodgers, but that’s his learning curve! Aaron Rodgers has sat on the bench for 3 years waiting for Brett to retire so he could prove himself. He deserves that shot. I’ll take a losing season with Aaron considering we took 12 plus losing seasons with Brett Farve!!!! Did anyone see the games last year? Have people forgotten how he cost us going to the super bowl with all the interceptions he threw? Did you guys not see the Dallas game with the interception he threw in the most critical part of the game? Whenever a big game is on the line he messes it up with interceptions! That is not a great football player, that is a choker who don’t come through when it counts! He needs to retire, stay in Mississippi and chill and leave WI alone!!! We are so sick of him it’s not even funny!!!! It’s not fair for him to hold the team hostage with his indecisive diva ways! Get over yourself Farve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whatever team he goes to they are going to see what Mike McCarthy and Ted Thompson have been putting up with these past few years with Bret. Let him be somoene else’s headache. We’ve had enough of him.
What has Aaron Rodgers proved? He hasn’t had a chance to prove anything with the diva Brett Farve hanging on to his glory years of ‘96!!!! By the way: Breaking news just came through: Farve has been traded to the NEW YORK JETS!!!!! WHOOO-HOOOO!!! It was breaking news at 11pm tonight!!!!!! The diva is gone, the diva is gone!!!!! NOW Aaron Rodgers can finally show what he has and get some experience in there. Green Bay is finally being able to start over and start fresh and go in a new direction - which is what we need!
WHOO-HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amen :
