Charles Barkley …. general manager?
That’s the dream of the NBA Hall of Famer, who is willing to walk away from his Inside the NBA gig on TNT for the front office.
“I think that it’d be fun to try to build my own team,” Barkley said at a luncheon on Monday. “We talk about it all the time. Sometimes we say, ‘What is that guy doing? Why did he draft that guy? Why did he make a trade for that guy?’ “Some of these guys have done a bad job, plain and simple.”
Chuck, we have seen you play “Who He Play For” on Inside the NBA. You might not be the best person to be picking players for your team.
Barkley is starting his 10th season on TV when the gang (Kenny Smith, Ernie Johnson, Chris Webber) gets back together Tuesday night for the start of the NBA season.
And to be honest, he’s brilliant at what he does.
I couldn’t imagine what Thursday nights would be like without Smith or Barkley on TV.
Stick with the fantasy basketball, Charles.

Inside The Prison Cell?
That’s where Charles Barkley will be starting March 21 instead of hosting “Inside The NBA” after pleading guilty to drunken-driving charges in Arizona last December.
Barkley will serve five days in jail, must enter an alcohol awareness program and was fined more than $2,000.
Could you imagine Sir Charles rocking the prison orange jumpsuit?
Size XXXL.
Keep your head up, Chuck.
And your soap off the ground.

Welcome back, Charles Barkley.
Barkley makes his return to the Inside the NBA set this evening after a hiatus following his DUI arrest in December.
And before coming back, Barkley has apologized again for the incident.
“This is just my bad, no excuses,” Barkley said. “I think that a DUI is unacceptable,” he added. “That can’t happen and I’ve got to challenge other people, not just celebrities or jocks. You have to really think before getting behind the wheel after you’ve been drinking.”
The 45-year-old Barkley also vowed to start using a driver when he went out and would not get behind the wheel after drinking.
Between the stories about Michael Phelps and A-Rod, you almost forgot that Barkley had his own legal issue on his hands.
Either way, it will be good to have the Chuckster back.

The results are in and …
Charles Barkley was drunk like a skunk when he was arrested on Dec. 31 in Arizona.
Barkley had a blood-alcohol level of .149, nearly twice the legal limit of .08 in the state or Arizona.
And judging by the mugshot, he is probably sweating Patron.
Editor’s Note: According to the AP, Barkley will take a leave of absence from TNT. No return date has been set but Barkley will be off the air for several weeks.

Former NBA forward Antoine Walker did his best Charles Barkley impersonation and was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in Miami Beach early Monday morning.
According to the police, Walker was driving a black Mercedes without the lights on when he was pulled over at 5:39 a.m. Officers detected a strong odor of alcohol and wrote in the report that Walker had a sleepy look on his face.
What about guys who have a permanent sleepy face, a la Sleepy Floyd?
Long before the “Boston Three Party” or whatever you want to call them in Celtics land, Walker, along with Paul Pierce, were the faces of the franchise during the late 90s.
Who hasn’t try to do the Antoine Walker “shimmy” once in their life?
Unlike Sir Charles, Walker wasn’t speeding off to get the best oral sex in his life or rolling around with a handgun.
Get some help #8 and hopefully you have one last shimmy left in you.

The Charles Barkley DUI story continues to get better.
According to the police report on The Smoking Gun, Barkley ran through a stop sign because he was eager to receive oral sex from a young lady who he had hooked up with a week prior.
“He asked me to admit that she was ‘hot.’ He asked me, ‘You want the truth?’ When I told him I did he said, ‘I was gonna drive around the corner and get a b**w job. He then explained that she had given him a ‘b**w job’ one week earlier and said it was the best one he had ever had in his life.”
That must be one helluva blow job, Chuck.
Barkley was packing as well – - no, not like that.
Officers discovered a handgun in the vehicle, which was confiscated by police.
Because we all know that Scottsdale is known for their crime.
Still waiting on a statement … errr … apology from Barkley.

Oh, Chuck.
Tonight is the night to get sloppy drunk and possibly hop behind the wheel.
Not the night before the biggest party night of the year.
Charles Barkley was arrested on suspicion of drinking and driving after running a stop sign early Wednesday morning.
The officers could have at least handed Charles a towel to wipe himself down before the mugshot.
According to TMZ.com, Barkley was partying with former NFL great Michael Strahan and Jaleel White.
No, that wasn’t a typo.
Barkley was partying with Urkel.
No wonder he had to get drunk.
