As if Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard didn’t need any more motivation during the NBA Finals, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar just provided him with some.

The ex-Laker and current special assistant coach called out Howard and his style of play.

“He’s still offensively kind of raw,” Abdul-Jabbar said Wednesday. “He doesn’t have a go-to move yet. Right now, he’s kind of predictable.”

You’re telling me the slam dunk is predictable?

You don’t say, Kareem.

For a guy who is predictable, Howard still managed to average 20.6 points per game this season.

And Howard responded to Kareem’s comments without coming off as bitter or upset.

“Kareem is right, and he understands that in order to be a good player you have to add different things to your game,” Howard said. “I’ve tried to do the skyhook just like him, but he had more range and more touch. He was shooting skyhooks from the 3-point line, and I’m still working on it from the paint, so I’ve got a long way to go.”

Classy guy, but Kareem, could you not provide anymore bulletin board material for the opposition?

On the eve of the NBA Finals, Shaquille O’Neal made it no secret who he is rooting for.

O’Neal tweeted today: “I am saying it today and today only, I want kobe bryant to get number four, spread da word.”

I’m spreading the word on behalf of O’Neal, who secretly has to be rooting against Bryant catching him in the rings category.

Lakers in 6.
