There is a new face in women’s basketball.
She wears a size 18 men’s sneaker and stands 6′8.
Did I mention she’s only 16?
Brittney Griner is a high school junior who has exploded on the national scene thanks to YouTube.
Listen to this stat line: 29 points, 13 rebounds, 11 blocks and nine assists as she helped Nimitz High School to a first round playoff win over rival Westside High School.

Griner could teach Kwame Brown and Eddy Curry a thing or two about taking it to the hole and finishing as she had two POWERFUL dunks.
All she was missing was announcer Bill Rafferty saying “Send it in Brittney!” and you would have mistaken it for an NBA highlight.

First off I would love to say that Its a blessful thing to have talent either you have it or you dont.This is not the first time me seeing a tall women before but at 16 years of age and she stands 6′8 WOW.Thats kool.I think that some MEN will be hating on that fact cause some of the dudes dont reach the height over 5′10 LOL.I hope she do her thing and if basketball is what she wants to do damnit she has all the right and freedom and the world to be who ever she wants to be.That is with and without supporters,without haters and with the men who cant stand seeing a tall women kick butt and dunk on you.So get use to it she will be around for a long time.Why you are sitting back knocking her she will be sitting living large, faith and all.Im out
Candace can definetly play ball. I’ve seen clips of her playing. She’s the only girl I’ve ever seen dunk. But in the mist of all that the odds of her being in the WNBA are EXTREMELY low even for her being 6′8 at only 16 years old. She should still pursue her education so she can have something to fall back on.

Yeah this girl does have some serious hops. most females that are her hight aren’t nearly as mobile and nimble as she is. She has handles to. She could possibly be the first woman to come out of college after one year. Who knows, maybe she will leap from high school. Whatever she does hopefully she pursues her education, IT IS KEY. It’s possible to do both.
