About

Actress Jurnee Smollet is on a quest to get people to vote this year. She has been traveling from state to state speaking to youth about the importance of getting registered to vote. It is especially important in this historic election year because presidential candidate Barack Obama could potentially become the first black man to be president of the United States. Smollet has done many things to give back to others. She is the youngest board member of Artists for a New South Africa (ANSA), a nonprofit organization working in the U.S and South Africa to combat HIV/AIDS, advance human rights and equality, safeguard voting rights, and assist to educate and empower children orphaned by AIDS as well as other at-risk youth. Follow her on the campaign trail and get close-ups of her travels around the country encouraging people – in small cities and big towns – to let their voices be heard in the ’08 elections.

I think it is great for you to go out and encourage the youth to know that we do have a voice and it is very important for them to really show there support . We are in changing times and if there is not anytime the time is now to make sure your voice is heard. We are making history with even having a african american in the running and it looks to me the first black president and it have been long awaiting. so thank you for being positive and keeping up with the world and knowing that you going out is very very important for our youth. Thank you

Hey Jurnee I been watching you since you were at least five years old, when you and your real brothers and sister had your own show. I see you have grown up to be a very very bright young lady, I thank you on behalf of my peers. You are letting the youth know what they should be doing and how to do it. I hope it is getting in their heads that they are our future. We need and want a change so please vote. Please, all vote today, the lines are going to be long, but if we can stand on lines at the clubs, we can stand in line for a change. Thanks again Jurnee.
