It’s time for a take over! The atmosphere in America is ripe for a revolution, and we’re at the helm! Politics and hip hop have finally merged to create a new voice, and a new generation of you(th) voters that can actually change the course of this country’s history!
But wait..before I get all Al Sharp on you, allow me to introduce myself. I’m a compulsively ambitious, politically savvy, irreverently fashionable, hip hop fanatic, college junior.
My name is Angel B. Elliott, and I was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. I work for BET News in Washington DC.
Why politics interests me? Because I’m intensely interested in the advancement of my people! We can really influence the laws that affect us, if we educate ourselves on the issues! Even more important for Black folks to do so because, well, we all we got!
This upcoming election is so important.
After 8 years of Bush’s Bull, we’ve got to choose the right man, or woman for the job. Everyone’s had enough of being broke, struggling with student loans and having a hard time finding a J-O-B! We have the opportunity to elect someone who’ll change not only the U.S, but the world— Yes we can! (ha!) Besides, who says politics can’t be glamorous and hip? There’s more to Capitol Hill than grey suites, pinstripes and policies; I’m here to break it down! Let’s take a ride, from the streets of B-More, to the steps of the White House… and we’re knocking!

Question. Why are we knockn’ on the White House doors instead of on the doors of ghetto’s/hoods? Why are we spending more time talking about a VOTE..when we should know who we are voting for based on OBAMA.. We should be VOTING for OBAMA… we should be going into the hoods making sure we are educating therrrr. Not via internet (you know its said that black can not read write nor speak in a grammatically correct par. I am coming to Baltimore soon. I want to sit down with Lt. Michael Steele, and ask him why he wanted McCain to pick him as his runin mate (VP) – and also why he’s on TV saying the McCain connected well with the BLACK Community. I do not believe it! He could have kept his opinion to himself.. if McCain nen’ cheats for these votes… we can blame ppl like Al Sharpton and Lt. Michael Steele..

Hey guys can you all help me out with this? I can not wear my Obama shirt on vote day, Why is it that He is BLACK. I gest the voter people can tell you what to wear on vote day. What happen to the first ammend.. rights. To wear a sign is a right to speak. So guys don’t speak just vote, if you speak they will not let you vote.
even though i’ve been voting for a long time, it’s going to take time for change. i would like to see community programs to re-organize where the kids can get off the corner and have something to do. i also live in md and i remember when these programs where so important and it benefited those who could afford them and who couldn’t. open more recreation centers for the youths. i know that education is important but so is community. folks are just not invovled like they used to be. we need more community programs to help all the children. a lot of parents have to work but can’t afford all the best because they are struggling to make ends meet. an idle mind is the playground of the devil(even though that’s a quote from the song ” do you wanna get funky with me “), it’s been said even before that song came out ’cause it’s true. i think the government should stop war in other countries and focus on the war right here in america. it’s sad but the extinction of our youth is upon us. if we as the elder generation don’t get that back along with our officials we are doomed. it’s just like the LINDI vaccinations that brought the hiv/aids virus and the dams that keep flooding new orleans since the 20’s. well get into your history for that information. but it may not be in my lifetime, and maybe it will. not until we get politicians like the Kennedy’s who didn’t get a check. sure i want to see an african american president whether woman or man but i just hope that we as americans don’t get things twisted in thinking they will change over night.
