Played out Political Strategies

You would have thought John McCain would retire his “Joe the Plumber” crusade after the media dropped Joe like a bad habit, but nooooo, some politicians don’t know when to quit.

According to my calculations, Samuel Joesph Wurzelbacher’s 15 minutes of fame were up weeks ago. Someone just forgot to give John McCain the memo. Why are we even discussing a man who’s planning to buy a company that makes over $250,000 a year and has catapulted to the status of a D-list celebrity? Joe isn’t hurting right now! (Especially since the ink is still drying on that new book deal he just cut.) Keith Olbermann said it best on his show Countdown:

“Senator, Joe the Plumber is going into the toilet, and he’s taking you with him.”

While this circus has been amusing, isn’t it really just a way of distracting us from the fact that McCain’s campaign has lost its center? The poor guy is so confused from trying to run against his own party he doesn’t know what to focus on anymore. So Joe became his guinea pig.

But apparently even Joe is getting tired of being exploited. At a campaign rally yesterday, “Joe the Plumber” became “Joe the no-show” when Senator McCain singled him out from the audience.

“Joe’s with us today,” McCain said. “Joe where are you? Where is Joe? Is Joe here with us today? Joe, I thought you were here today.”

Joe didn’t answer. So I’ll answer for him. Enough is ENOUGH. We’ve had it Senator. Something stinks around here, and it isn’t Joe, it’s your campaign strategy. So get a new one because the old one’s washed up.

Is McCain focusing on Joe to avoid addressing weaknesses in his campaign? Who will even remember Joe two months from now? Is McCain’s political strategy played out? You tell me.

-Ashley

P.S. Soon they’ll be coming out with t-shirts to go along with Joe’s book. Mark my words.

Yeah…it was pretty smart to reach out to Joe The Plumber who’s making, what, 100-200k a yr? Now, maybe if he had reached out to Jimmy The Working Poor, he might’ve had something going…maybe.

It’s as simple as this. Time is up for McCain, and he knows it. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the old Republican pulls another trick out of the hat right before the election (they’re famous for it you know. Bush, Gore, and a state named Florida). Still, McCain’s running scared and grabbing at straws…

I feel ashamed to admit it but I’m am not to familiar with the “Joe the Plumber” story, I do know that it’s not a good idea to concentrate on one thing…McCain knows that too now.

Jazmine Said on

How could McCain not be prepared, he is supposed to know who is and is not in his audience especially if his intentions was to call him onstage.

kameesha Said on

I dont think McCain was prepared to fight this hard for this presidency, and now that he is he’s just grasping at straws.

It’s very sad when you set your own self up to be humiliated, if he can make an idiotic decision before he get’s in the whitehouse, do we really need him embarrassing us as our leader?

Uh, Joe the Plumber, is actually not a licensed plumber,…only made about 40 some thousand last year, and it was found was not about to buy the business….it was all a “hypothetical”. He is not doing well at all…he is just riding his 15 minutes of fame. He was more of a fraud than most….he does NOTown a business (well, unless you count the book)…he says he’s thinking of running for congress soon….but he doesn’t actually have ANY of the things that they are saying….it was ALL HYPOTHETICAL!

This might not relate to the above issue. At my high school a young girl wearing a McCain t-shirt was stalked by a group of black people saying they were going to beat her up. yet, when someone wears a obama shirt nobody seems to care! i think Obama shouldnt be president because then ll black people will feel like they have power over everyone else.
thank you

Yeah, its official…the McCain/Republican camp is scared…….So they’re pulling out all the tricks to somehow win the election…..IF……IF…….and just for good measure….IF they win this elcetion…….it won’t because they played by the rules……..they would’ve broke a couple
