I’m going to be blogging throughout the debate tonight.  I’ll be discussing my thoughts on the debate minute-by-minute.  Keep checking back to hear what I have to say and to let me know how you feel about the debate!

TRAVERS

9:03:  Obama and McCain just stepped out!  Aw, shoot!  Let’s get it!!!

9:06:  Obama just gave a very direct and pointed answer to the question about the financial situation.

9:08:  Lehrer just told them to “talk to each other.”  Translation:  ”I wanna see y’all go at it!”

9:10:  Admittedly biased opinion—At this point Obama seems more presidential while McCain seems a little tired, cynical, flustered…

9:13:  Jim Lehrer STAYS trying to get these guys to fight!  He’s like the kid at the middle school fight yelling “HIT THAT DUDE!!” Lol.  I can’t blame him though.  So far this debate NEEDS some excitement!

9:17: Uh,oh…I saw McCain look a little restless.  COME ON JOHNNY!  Say what you got to say! lol!

9:19:  ”I don’t know where John’s getting his figures…let’s be clear”  Okay!  Here we go!

9:24:  ”This is a classic example of walking the walk and talking the talk.”–John McCain

9:29: “Senator Obama has the most liberal voting record in the United States Senate.”–John McCain

9:31: “You know Tom…er, um John mentioned.” LMAO!! Did Obama forget McCain’s name?!?!?!?

9:32:  Attention Presidential Candidates: ANSWER THE D*MN QUESTION!!!!

9:37:  ”I just need to make this point Jim…er, um, JOHN”  BARACK!!! This is the second time!!  His name is JOHN! LOL!

9:39:  Maverick?!?  How about ERRATIC!!!!

9:41:  REAL TALK!  Barack was the only one on the stage who had the balls to stand up against going to Iraq!!!!!

9:44:  McCain looks like he’s about to EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9:45:  ”You said…you were wrong!  You said…you were wrong!!!”—Obama

9:45 1/2:  ”I’m afraid Senator Obama doesn’t know the difference between a tactic and a strategy “–McCain WTF!!!!!

9:50:  This is getting really good!

9:53:  ”You don’t do that…you don’t say that out loud!”–John Mccain  ROTFLMAO!!!!!!

9:57:  I can’t even lie…John McCain is a DAMN good debater!!!!!

9:59:  McCain is quite a patriot, but a President????

10:00 p.m.:  ”I’ve got a bracelet too…”—Obama

10:02:  ”I know what our needs are”–McCain  Well what the ARE they?!?!?

10:04:  Random Facebook Friend Status Update: [Blank] is wishing John McCain would stop talking around the issues and answer the question or just shut the hell up!!!!

10:05 p.m.:  Random Facebook Friend Status Update:  [Blank] is watching the debate with a bottle of wine and a nervous stomach. don’t forget to do a shot every time obama says ”change”.

 10:08:  ”Ahkmadinejskdjobjsbsl…Ahdkkdsiodsakds….Ahmadinejad”—John McCain  HI-Freakin-LARIOUS!!!!!!

10:09:  McCain does have a point about the precondition though…

10:10:  Have you noticed that John McCain is YET to look Obama in the eyes?

10:15:  ”Oh Please…” —McCain   OH SH*T!!!!! John McCain got kind of crunk just then!!!!

10:18:  I like how Obama keeps his composure…

10:24: GREAT point about energy reliance Obama!!!

10:25:  ”John….”—Obama LOL

10:29:  AMEN TO THAT Barack!! Go after Al-Qaeda, not Iraqis!!!!!!

10:31:  If McCain says “Senator Obama doesn’t understand/doesn’t get it” ONE MORE TIME….

10:34: “We’ve seen the stubbornness before in THIS administration”—McCain  Now THAT was HILARIOUS!!!  You ARE “this administration”!!!!!!!!!!

10:36 p.m.:  Should Barack have said that?

10:37:  I CAN’T WAIT until that VP debate!!!!!!  Now THAT should be entertaining!

10:38:  So tell me, what did you think of the debate?  Who do you think won?  Tell me your thoughts.

I gotta say you getting all the good stuff…LOL. In my opinion neither of these candidates are doing such a good job tonight

travers said on September 26th, 2008

I agree, R.W.A.C. It’s not NEAR as interesting as the primary debates

Ola said on September 26th, 2008

McDumb needs to understand that the point of a debate is to put your point up against that of your opponent not tell stories of bracelets that really have little or nothing to do with the topic at hand

travers said on September 26th, 2008

Ola and R.W.A.C—-who do you think is winning so far????????

Ola said on September 26th, 2008

Obama won before he even said a word….. McCain is clearly out of touch with not only middle class Americans but has also proven to be hypocritical and unable to lead with honesty and integrity.

Rebel With A Cause said on September 26th, 2008

Once they stopped talking about “he said, he believes, he voted for…” I had to go with Obama cause he said some stuff I agreed with. But I was sorta shocked when he said “Bin laden should be caught and KILLED” I was like whoa, how blunt can you get man?

Toni@Harry said on September 26th, 2008

The First thing I’ve noticed is that John Never ,Never Looks at Obama or speaks to Obama first,John acts like Obama just got off the BOAT.

Rebel With A Cause said on September 26th, 2008

I would also like to add that I felt like you OLA, that McCain is out of touch with the middle class. I don’t consider myself middle class cause I’m in college (I actually go to Ole Miss, ironic huh?) However he seems more concerned with taking care of veterans that HOW we can afford to do so. I mean I’m all for taking care of people who fight for this country, but I disagree fully with fighting a war that has no purpose. We started off looking for Bin Laden and ended up in Iraq. We started off wanting to avenge 9/11 victims, and ended up trying to force our democratic system upon people who don’t seem to want it.

Rebel With A Cause said on September 26th, 2008

So I guess I’m saying I think Obama won, and its a good thing too, cause this whole election has been looking like a popularity contest to me so I was planning to avoid the poles (Don’t shun me…I changed my mind)

Rebel With A Cause said on September 26th, 2008

I meant POLLS…I’m so ashamed

Jonathan said on September 26th, 2008

mccain has the experience. he has been a senator longer and even though he is a republican doesn’t mean he has to always believe in what his party believes in. if we want real change in how the world sees this country and see improvement in the economy then we need someone who was bred by the washington establishment. Obama has good ideas but he should wait till 2012 to be president. being unpopular doesn’t always mean being wrong

Julie said on September 26th, 2008

Obama won, John McCain is out of touch with the American people. This was supposed to be the debate about Foreign policy, so called John McCain’s specialty. Obama new Foreign policy, I liked what he had to say. John McCain says he’s been in Washington for so long, I thought to myself and yes look at the mess we are in.

Julie said on September 26th, 2008

John McCain is what is wrong with this country. Just because you’ve been a Senator longer does not make you good for the country. Yes Obama’s ideas are good and we need him now! Not the same old BS we have now, that is why we are in such bad shape.

Monica said on September 26th, 2008

I have to agree that the primary debates were better and that was because of the moderator of them, RIP Tim Russert. Did anybody get the feeling that Senator McCain thought he was better than Senator Obama and that he should not be sharing the same stage? Everything that was said tonight was everything that we have been hearing in their commericals. Nothing new from my standpoint. I am waiting for the VP debate, Bidden is going to murder that poor beauty queen/ sports reporter/ governor.

Honor said on September 27th, 2008

John, I feel the need to clarify something concerning your idea of experience concerning McCain…Being in Congress or a POW does not make you the best candidate for presidency..McCain IS part of the ongoing problem with Congress..he is one of the good ole boys..one of his main downfalls for me..is his shameful behavior that became public, from the Keating Five scandal…he has routinely voted against higher wages..and equal pay for women…he has rejected several bills on african-american issues..so what exact experience are you talking about? …the ability to lie?…reject the passing of bills for the very people he claims when he’s president he’ll take care of? The only experience McCain has..is the unbelievable ability to kiss a** and to change his policy to gain in the polls…Debates are always boring..and no matter how many Obama have with McCain..Obama can never come off abrasive..or harsh..he’ll loose the white votes…Obama did excellent..stayed strong..undeterred and a gentleman…McCain came off as simply a bitter old child..stomping his foot and saying..”I’m the better guy!”..and it looked sad…

jhoqualia said on September 27th, 2008

well i think that obama did real good and really dissagree with mccain temper in the whole thing cause he always have a war story to tell. we get t hat you was a war veteren but that dont mean you have the temperment and the calmness and judgement to be the president. Hands down yall know obama won this debate cause mccain thinks the middle class is a joke.(he would not even mention the words middle class to save this election for him. And thats why mccain is out of touch with the real world and i rather pick a candidate who has 1 house like obama rather than 11 house like mccain. Sureley that should tell everybody that he is not fit to fill this position.
I really tried to be fair and give mccain the benefit of the doubt but he just showed me that can not be our next presiden t

obama /biden will be ready on day one 08/09

Barak Hussein Obama said 9 times, “John is right…”. No kidding. John Sidney McCain has been in congress for over 20 years, fought in vietnam, etc.. He has penned legislation (McCain/Feingold) and (McCain/Lieberman) that both democrats and republicans have supported. Barak Hussein Obama has never penned a single piece of legislation in his life, but he has written two books about himself….

J-Dog said on September 27th, 2008

Barak Hussein Obama stated 9 times, “John is right…” Wow. If I were Barak I would have instead pointed out how I was raised in Jakarta, Indonesia and how both my father and stepfather were both muslims. This would have given him room to state how he would have an advantage in dealing with the muslim Iranian president. Obama should have also mentioned the fact that he is fluent in Arabic seeing as how he was raised in Jakarta. He and the Iranian President have a lot in common. Obama stated that he is willing to meet with him without restriction. That would definitely be a first for a U.S. President. Most Presidents will not sit and talk with a known terrorist. We live in a post 911 world. Should the leader of the United States have ties of any kind to Islam. Does that make you feel safe? I don’t know about you but it scares the crap out of me.

Honor said on September 27th, 2008

J-Dog..stop spurting your and half truths..you fit in well with the republican party..you love to spin stories, to seem knowledgeable….Why don.t you check out Vets 2 Vote.com and see the many measures McCain has rejected for the very men he said he’ll take care of…Obama is fluent in more than one language..and his mother nor Barack (he lived with his mother only as a small child) were never actively Muslim…stop telling that lie!…Kissinger DID agree to sit with terrorists leaders…why don’t you check out the press quote on Factcheck.org..stating Kissingers agreement with talking with Iran? What should frighten you is the idea we should keep at war with Iraq, till we win…at what cost?…What exactly are we STILL trying to win?…. If we listen to McMoron, will be at war with Russia, Iran, and just spank Afghanistan and disrepect NATO allies…making more unneeded discourse. Washington agrees..even ignorant Bush, that the threat is Afghanistan…check your facts!…The only people that listen to your lies is other republicans..that are willing at any cost.. to win. So, be afraid..very afraid of the choice you have clearly made….Me and every other Americans that want what is best for this Nation, will sleep well!

Travers, I always said you were crazy, lol. My favorite minutes:

9:45: ”You said…you were wrong! You said…you were wrong!!!”—Obama
9:53: ”You don’t do that…you don’t say that out loud!”–John Mccain ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
10:00 p.m.: ”I’ve got a bracelet too…”—Obama
10:08: ”Ahkma dinejskd jobjsbsl …Ahdkk dsiodsak ds….Ah madineja d”—J ohn McCain HI-Freak in-LARIO US!!!!!!
10:09: McCain does have a point about the precondition though…

I loved when McCain said, “You don’t say that out loud,” and I loved when Obama said, “I’ve got a braclet too.” I thought that was when their patience really began wearing thin and the debate began getting interesting.

Two additional observations … What was McCain trying to accomplish by not looking Barack in the eyes? … How come I never realized that Obama is really HOT?

I FEEL OBAMA DID VERY WELL AT THE DEBATE LAST NIGHT, WHEN MCCAIN TRIED TO TWIST OBAMA’S WORDS, OBAMA WAS RIGHT ON HIM IT SEEM TO ME THAT MCCAIN THINKS BECAUSE HE’S MORE EXPERIENCED HE WOULD BE BETTER FOR THE COUNTRY, CONSIDERING WHAT THE ECONOMY IS GOING THROUGH NOW MORE EXPERIENCE SHOULD HAVE KEPT AND EYE ON OUR MONEY. OBAMA IS EXPERIENCE ENOUGH THAT HE WILL NOT TAKE HE’S PRESIDENCY LIKELY AND WILL PUT THOSE IN POSITION WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. MCCAIN SEEMED LIKE AN ANGRY OLD MAN, TO ME HE SEEM TO KEEP ATTACKING OBAMA KEPT AFTER THE DEBATE LAST NIGHT HE DID NOT SHAKE HANDS WITH OBAMA SINCERELY, AND MCCAIN’S RUNNING MATE IS A JOKE AND AND INSULT TO US WOMEN, (PLEASE) EX-PRESIDENT CLINTON LEFT THIS COUNTRY RUNNING GREAT PRESIDENT BUSH HAS US GOING DOWN THE TOILET THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO VOTED HIM IN THERE AND THOSE WHO FORGET THE PAST ARE DOOM TO REPEAT IT, AND I REALLY FEEL FOR MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN’S FUTURE MCCCAIN IS BUSH. OBAMA’S NOT JUST AFRICAN AMERICAN BUT THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS WITH ALL OF US IN MIND. WE CAN’T TAKE FOUR MORE YEARS OF THIS MESS THE REPUBLICANS GOT US IN. IT’S GOING TO TAKE A LITTLE TIME BUT I BELIEVE OBAMA CAN PUT THIS COUNTRY BACK ON TRACK.

Obama smashed McCain on foreign politics word for word, McCain was so upset that the viewers could see all his racism, It was so bad that he could not maintain his composure. I believe that Obama’s attitude, posture, mannerism, and tones were Presidential.

J-Dogg said on September 28th, 2008

Dear Honor, with all do respect, Kissenger is not running for President. Barak Hussein Obama is! You are willing to elect a President in a Post 911 world that has ties to Islam? Please! Obama is also the senator with the most liberal voting record ever!
He is pro-abortion. Over 40 million innocents have perished in this country since Roe v. Wade. As a Christian man, I could not, nor would I EVER vote for a pro-abortion candidate such as Barak Hussein Obama! He would have the power to appoint supreme court justices and believe me, he would pick the most liberal.
A socialist liberal who speaks perfect Arabic and can recite the Koran. Are you serious?

PLEASE REMEBER TO WEAR NO OBAMA TSHIRTS, HATS, PINS ECT WHEN YOU GO TO VOTE. IT IS CONCIDERED CAMPAINING AND IS ILLEGAL WITHIN X AMOUNT OF FEET OF THE POLLS. THEY ARE BANKING ON THE FACT THAT WE DO NOT KNOW THIS LAW, YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY!!! THEY ARE BANKING ON THE FACT THAT YOU WILL NOT COME BACK TO WAIT AGAIN IN THE LONG LINES.

BE AWARE, PASS THE WORD AND ROCK THE VOTE!

J-Dog…You’re so right..Kissinger isn’t..but he’s one of McCain’s key advisor& #8217;s& #8230;wh ich he will listen to…and he was lying (again)…This press report is from MSNBC on the statement from Barack Obama on his religion..
updated 9:49 a.m. CT, Mon., Jan. 21, 2008

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Barack Obama is stepping up his effort to correct the misconception that he’s a Muslim now that the presidential campaign has hit the Bible Belt.

At a rally to kick off a weeklong campaign for the South Carolina primary, Obama tried to set the record straight from an attack circulating widely on the Internet that is designed to play into prejudices against Muslims and fears of terroris m.

̶ 0;I̵ 7;ve been to the same church _ the same Christian church _ for almost 20 years,” Obama said, stressing the word Christian and drawing cheers from the faithful in reply. “I was sworn in with my hand on the family Bible. Whenever I’m in the United States Senate, I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. So if you get some silly e-mail … send it back to whoever sent it and tell them this is all crazy. Educate.” Now what?..Are you still going to keep stating that fallacy over and over, till someone other than you believe it? ..I won’t even bother with discussing abortion with you…but just know…the Republicans passed a 35 million dollar bill for planned parenthood and George Bush’s Advisors..Alberto Gonzalez…passed bills for underage females to have abortions without parental knowledge…so i’m wondering….did you vote Republic an?̷ 0;*sighs *..J-Dog g..McCai n only says Obama is a liberal with no proof? Do you even know how they recognize who is and who is not? You’re beliefs are unfounded my friend..it’s all rhetoric…Obama is NOT just for abortion..He has strong stipulations with it…He’s not lying to you and saying he’s against it…and then surrounding himself with people who vote measures for it haphazar dly̷ 0;I̵ 7;m saddened that you hold on to these twisted facts..allowing yourself to be duped…so vote for McCain…he’ll tell you what you want to hear at any cost…so you can stay on your high horse..while we other Christians, live our lives with Obama as our President..

j-dogg said on September 28th, 2008

Dear Honor,

Are you serious? A Muslim can lie through his teeth about his religion if it ultimately results in the advancement of Islam. Barak Hussein Obama stated out of his own mouth to a CNN correspondant concerning his “Muslim religion”. I don’t know about you, but that is a slip of the tongue that I would not make. You say he went to a Christian Church? Ha! Let me rephrase all of this so that you can understand it. Let’s say that McCain went to a church that was pro-white and preached hatred for blacks and jews. Let’s say McCain went there for 20 years, do you think that he would have a chance of getting elected? Make sense? Oh, and the abortion issue. Obama supported a bill in Illinois that would a allow a doctor to kill a child after being born if the abortion was botched. Liberal? Yes. Insane? Yes. Let’s face it. Obama has the most liberal voting record in the senate… ever. I would love for a black person to be president. I just don’t want a liberal Arabic speaking one with loose ties to Islam. Understand?

Honor said on September 28th, 2008

*laughs* …J -dogg..e ver heard the line…” if you stand for nothing, you fall for anything ”? …Y ou’ ;re so angry… Take a deep breath…You believe every negative thing you’ve heard about Obama…Why is that?.. OntheIssues.org..gives an extensive reading of Obama’s voting stance in Illinois and his insight on an extremely touchy subject for many Americans….Let me apologize..I’ve attacked you personally…and let’s just agree to disagree..I will never understand your views…they seem unfair…and slightly askew…You won’t ever see my way..for reasons apparent to you…I am proud of my choice to vote for Obama..and even prideful you’re so passionate…even if you’re wrong..*smile*..Be well brother..I hear you….I’m simply just not listening…Rock the Vote!!

Honor,

I am not angry. I am concerned with your last comment though. “I hear you, I’m simply just not listening”. WOW! I know that you like Obama because he is black and really that is okay. I would love to see a black man or a hispanic man be President. I just don’t want one who holds to the socialist views that Obama has.

He wants the United States to mimick the Soviet Union and China economy? Are you serious?!!
