TRAVERS

9:03:  Obama and McCain just stepped out!  Aw, shoot!  Let’s get it!!!

9:06:  Obama just gave a very direct and pointed answer to the question about the financial situation.

9:08:  Lehrer just told them to “talk to each other.”  Translation:  ”I wanna see y’all go at it!”

9:10:  Admittedly biased opinion—At this point Obama seems more presidential while McCain seems a little tired, cynical, flustered…

9:13:  Jim Lehrer STAYS trying to get these guys to fight!  He’s like the kid at the middle school fight yelling “HIT THAT DUDE!!” Lol.  I can’t blame him though.  So far this debate NEEDS some excitement!

9:17: Uh,oh…I saw McCain look a little restless.  COME ON JOHNNY!  Say what you got to say! lol!

9:19:  ”I don’t know where John’s getting his figures…let’s be clear”  Okay!  Here we go!

9:24:  ”This is a classic example of walking the walk and talking the talk.”–John McCain

9:29: “Senator Obama has the most liberal voting record in the United States Senate.”–John McCain

9:31: “You know Tom…er, um John mentioned.” LMAO!! Did Obama forget McCain’s name?!?!?!?

9:32:  Attention Presidential Candidates: ANSWER THE D*MN QUESTION!!!!

9:37:  ”I just need to make this point Jim…er, um, JOHN”  BARACK!!! This is the second time!!  His name is JOHN! LOL!

9:39:  Maverick?!?  How about ERRATIC!!!!

9:41:  REAL TALK!  Barack was the only one on the stage who had the balls to stand up against going to Iraq!!!!!

9:44:  McCain looks like he’s about to EXPLODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9:45:  ”You said…you were wrong!  You said…you were wrong!!!”—Obama

9:45 1/2:  ”I’m afraid Senator Obama doesn’t know the difference between a tactic and a strategy “–McCain WTF!!!!!

9:50:  This is getting really good!

9:53:  ”You don’t do that…you don’t say that out loud!”–John Mccain  ROTFLMAO!!!!!!

9:57:  I can’t even lie…John McCain is a DAMN good debater!!!!!

9:59:  McCain is quite a patriot, but a President????

10:00 p.m.:  ”I’ve got a bracelet too…”—Obama

10:02:  ”I know what our needs are”–McCain  Well what the ARE they?!?!?

10:04:  Random Facebook Friend Status Update: [Blank] is wishing John McCain would stop talking around the issues and answer the question or just shut the hell up!!!!

10:05 p.m.:  Random Facebook Friend Status Update:  [Blank] is watching the debate with a bottle of wine and a nervous stomach. don’t forget to do a shot every time obama says ”change”.

 10:08:  ”Ahkmadinejskdjobjsbsl…Ahdkkdsiodsakds….Ahmadinejad”—John McCain  HI-Freakin-LARIOUS!!!!!!

10:09:  McCain does have a point about the precondition though…

10:10:  Have you noticed that John McCain is YET to look Obama in the eyes?

10:15:  ”Oh Please…” —McCain   OH SH*T!!!!! John McCain got kind of crunk just then!!!!

10:18:  I like how Obama keeps his composure…

10:24: GREAT point about energy reliance Obama!!!

10:25:  ”John….”—Obama LOL

10:29:  AMEN TO THAT Barack!! Go after Al-Qaeda, not Iraqis!!!!!!

10:31:  If McCain says “Senator Obama doesn’t understand/doesn’t get it” ONE MORE TIME….

10:34: “We’ve seen the stubbornness before in THIS administration”—McCain  Now THAT was HILARIOUS!!!  You ARE “this administration”!!!!!!!!!!

10:36 p.m.:  Should Barack have said that?

10:37:  I CAN’T WAIT until that VP debate!!!!!!  Now THAT should be entertaining!

10:38:  So tell me, what did you think of the debate?  Who do you think won?  Tell me your thoughts.

I gotta say you getting all the good stuff…LOL. In my opinion neither of these candidates are doing such a good job tonight

travers Said on

I agree, R.W.A.C. It’s not NEAR as interesting as the primary debates

Ola Said on

McDumb needs to understand that the point of a debate is to put your point up against that of your opponent not tell stories of bracelets that really have little or nothing to do with the topic at hand

travers Said on

Ola and R.W.A.C—-who do you think is winning so far????????

Ola Said on

Obama won before he even said a word….. McCain is clearly out of touch with not only middle class Americans but has also proven to be hypocritical and unable to lead with honesty and integrity.

Rebel With A Cause Said on

Once they stopped talking about “he said, he believes, he voted for…” I had to go with Obama cause he said some stuff I agreed with. But I was sorta shocked when he said “Bin laden should be caught and KILLED” I was like whoa, how blunt can you get man?

Toni@Harry Said on

The First thing I’ve noticed is that John Never ,Never Looks at Obama or speaks to Obama first,John acts like Obama just got off the BOAT.

Rebel With A Cause Said on

I would also like to add that I felt like you OLA, that McCain is out of touch with the middle class. I don’t consider myself middle class cause I’m in college (I actually go to Ole Miss, ironic huh?) However he seems more concerned with taking care of veterans that HOW we can afford to do so. I mean I’m all for taking care of people who fight for this country, but I disagree fully with fighting a war that has no purpose. We started off looking for Bin Laden and ended up in Iraq. We started off wanting to avenge 9/11 victims, and ended up trying to force our democratic system upon people who don’t seem to want it.

Rebel With A Cause Said on

So I guess I’m saying I think Obama won, and its a good thing too, cause this whole election has been looking like a popularity contest to me so I was planning to avoid the poles (Don’t shun me…I changed my mind)

Rebel With A Cause Said on

I meant POLLS…I’m so ashamed

mccain has the experience. he has been a senator longer and even though he is a republican doesn’t mean he has to always believe in what his party believes in. if we want real change in how the world sees this country and see improvement in the economy then we need someone who was bred by the washington establishment. Obama has good ideas but he should wait till 2012 to be president. being unpopular doesn’t always mean being wrong

Julie Said on

Obama won, John McCain is out of touch with the American people. This was supposed to be the debate about Foreign policy, so called John McCain’s specialty. Obama new Foreign policy, I liked what he had to say. John McCain says he’s been in Washington for so long, I thought to myself and yes look at the mess we are in.

Julie Said on

John McCain is what is wrong with this country. Just because you’ve been a Senator longer does not make you good for the country. Yes Obama’s ideas are good and we need him now! Not the same old BS we have now, that is why we are in such bad shape.

Monica Said on

I have to agree that the primary debates were better and that was because of the moderator of them, RIP Tim Russert. Did anybody get the feeling that Senator McCain thought he was better than Senator Obama and that he should not be sharing the same stage? Everything that was said tonight was everything that we have been hearing in their commericals. Nothing new from my standpoint. I am waiting for the VP debate, Bidden is going to murder that poor beauty queen/ sports reporter/ governor.

Honor Said on

John, I feel the need to clarify something concerning your idea of experience concerning McCain…Being in Congress or a POW does not make you the best candidate for presidency..McCain IS part of the ongoing problem with Congress..he is one of the good ole boys..one of his main downfalls for me..is his shameful behavior that became public, from the Keating Five scandal…he has routinely voted against higher wages..and equal pay for women…he has rejected several bills on african-american issues..so what exact experience are you talking about? …the ability to lie?…reject the passing of bills for the very people he claims when he’s president he’ll take care of? The only experience McCain has..is the unbelievable ability to kiss a** and to change his policy to gain in the polls…Debates are always boring..and no matter how many Obama have with McCain..Obama can never come off abrasive..or harsh..he’ll loose the white votes…Obama did excellent..stayed strong..undeterred and a gentleman…McCain came off as simply a bitter old child..stomping his foot and saying..”I’m the better guy!”..and it looked sad…

jhoqualia Said on

well i think that obama did real good and really dissagree with mccain temper in the whole thing cause he always have a war story to tell. we get t hat you was a war veteren but that dont mean you have the temperment and the calmness and judgement to be the president. Hands down yall know obama won this debate cause mccain thinks the middle class is a joke.(he would not even mention the words middle class to save this election for him. And thats why mccain is out of touch with the real world and i rather pick a candidate who has 1 house like obama rather than 11 house like mccain. Sureley that should tell everybody that he is not fit to fill this position.
I really tried to be fair and give mccain the benefit of the doubt but he just showed me that can not be our next president

obama/biden
will be ready on day one 08/09

J Said on

Barak Hussein Obama said 9 times, “John is right…”. No kidding. John Sidney McCain has been in congress for over 20 years, fought in vietnam, etc.. He has penned legislation (McCain/Feingold) and (McCain/Lieberman) that both democrats and republicans have supported. Barak Hussein Obama has never penned a single piece of legislation in his life, but he has written two books about himself….

J-Dog Said on

Barak Hussein Obama stated 9 times, “John is right…” Wow. If I were Barak I would have instead pointed out how I was raised in Jakarta, Indonesia and how both my father and stepfather were both muslims. This would have given him room to state how he would have an advantage in dealing with the muslim Iranian president. Obama should have also mentioned the fact that he is fluent in Arabic seeing as how he was raised in Jakarta. He and the Iranian President have a lot in common. Obama stated that he is willing to meet with him without restriction. That would definitely be a first for a U.S. President. Most Presidents will not sit and talk with a known terrorist. We live in a post 911 world. Should the leader of the United States have ties of any kind to Islam. Does that make you feel safe? I don’t know about you but it scares the crap out of me.
