Saturday Night Live Slams Sarah Again!

I was laughing out loud the first time Tina Fey impersonated Governor Sarah Palin, but this time I think tears actually sprang to my eyes. In fact, the only thing that was funnier was Palin’s actual interview with Katie Couric. So what’s the downer in this equation of great comedy and perfect timing? Not everybody got the joke. Of course, if some humorless person didn’t get their panties in a bunch, this wouldn’t be America. My favorite part was when Tina Fey said, “Katie, I’d like to use one of my lifelines.”
Palin’s parents are scheduled to make an appearance defending their daughter Monday on CBS’ “The Early Show.” Well I’m not against going to bat for your child … but isn’t this appearance a concession of sorts? By them publicly saying, “Stop picking on my daughter,” aren’t they acknowledging the concerns voters have about Palin’s qualifications? At this point in the election, highlighting her limited experience is probably not the best move for John McCain’s campaign.
Personally, I think there’s a lot of whining going on. In the cutthroat world of the mainstream media what goes around comes around. I’m sure the McCain campaign celebrated when Obama went through his nasty spell with the media. (Think Jeremiah Wright and New Yorker cover.) Now it’s time to bite the bullet and endure the endless Sarah Palin jokes.
Could the comedic sketch actually affect McCain and Palin’s campaign? How accurate is Tina Fey’s portrayal of the governor? What was your favorite line from the video? You tell me.

hahahaha!! i loved that video. i think it portrayed Mrs. Palin quite well… especially the part about how she has “foriegn policy experience based on alaska’s proximity to russia” =D.. very articulate. putting aside the fact that obama is the best canidate for president based on his views and qualifications, mccain choosing sarah palin for his v.p. is reason enough to vote for obama

vchoclate863 … did you WATCH Governor Palin’s interview with Katie Couric??? Did you miss her obvious discomfort and inability to answer many of the questions the interviewer threw at her? The Saturday Night Live parody was never about choosing sides. I’ll tell you what it did do though, it made American voters question Palin’s qualifications. Can you honestly sit here and tell me that you feel 100% comfortable allowing Palin to be the right hand of a man who could possibly be the next president of the United States?! I’m confident in Barack Obama AND John McCain’s ability to lead. Furthermore, I’m confident in Joe Biden, Obama’s VP pick but my patience runs thin when it comes to Sarah Palin. I’m interested in the economic future of America. I’m interested in ending the war in Iraq. I’m interested in good health care. I’m interested in seeing the American people get back on their feet. I’m interested in improving America’s standing in the world. And I simply REFUSE to believe that Governor Palin is in any shape ready to lead us toward those goals.
