The Obama’s Are Finally Chocolate City Residents!

Watch out Washington, President-elect Barack Obama & Co. are finally D.C. residents! Michelle Obama and her daughters moved into the Hay-Adams Hotel Saturday- their temporary residence until January 15th. Mr. O wasn’t far behind, he landed at Andrews Air Force base Sunday evening; after bidding a final fairwell to Chicago.
Why are the Obama’s staying at a hotel you ask? Because Blair House, the governments official guest residence is booked solid until January 15th according to the Bush Administration. Now Blair House has historically housed past President’s and their families before the official swear-in. What guest could possibly be more important than the future President and his family? I guess it’s just a final bitter bye-bye from Bush and his motely crew Administration.
You got to give it to Obama, a lot of folks in his position would develop some arrogance. When asked about living in a hotel for two weeks, he just said: “Yeah, although living in a hotel for two weeks — we kind of did that for two years.”
The reason for the early move? Malia and Sasha Obama start school today at Sidwell Friends, a prestigious private school in D.C. once home to another President’s daughter- Chelsea Clinton. As inauguration draws near I’m sure D.C. is bound to get a little crowded, everybody’s hoping to catch a peek at the new President before he makes it official on the 20th.

Didn’t the Bush administration expect the President Elect and his family to relocate to D.C.? Even if it had been McCain or Clinton. Bush & his administration are an embarrassment to the end. But, the Obama Family/Administration is a “CLASS ACT”. All is well and will be better. A change has come. Praise God!
