BET and jay-z definitely lost me as a result of replacing a tribute to an icon, done by an indirect protege (Chris Bown) with a song that bashed basically all of the previous performers. it wasnt a diss session in the studio; it was the aftermath of a great man’s death and a celebration of the year’s performer and MIChael JAckson. I think the whole show was wack as hell. I love MJ also, however I think a BET MJ special would have been appropriate and not a rush job as BET obviously did. MJ didnt give us crap, so in mourning him we shouldnt have gave his mess. And did BET not tell the “rappers” and “ole timers” not to by cussing? This is a family program ya know, yeah Lil Wayne, every word in song was bleeped out why? becuase of cussing and Eddie, Eddie, Eddie, it wasnt funny, dont let it happen again. And Don needs to sit his old tied abusive behind down somewhere, Beyonce what the world were you doing? I thought time could have been better spent on a star studded dance tribute to Michael Jackson. Stars like Omarion, Justin Timberlake, Ne-yo, Usher and yes Chris Brown all dancing to MJ tunes….. Not Jay Z rappin about auto tunes. How disrespectful to the legacy.

I am glad Chris Brown didn’t perform. He needs sit down for a while and get his act together. He is not a good representation of a black man and that nite was for remembering a good black man. Jay-z as always brought it.

I did not care for Jay-Z’s performance nor Beyonce’s. I think it was bad taste on BET’s and their parts, simply because it was suppose to be about MICHAEL JACKSON, not what J and B wanted. Don Cornelius should have been left at home( retired from TV) and the tribute to the O”Jays should have been a lot shorter. Ciara, Chris, and Usher would have been the ultimate artist to do a dance tribute to MJ and Neyo, Beyonce, and Jamie should have taken care of the musical part. Having said all of that , I think BET did the best they could considering the amount of time in which they had. So, my hat goes off to them. Lets just all continue to pray for the entire Jackson family and remember Michael for all the GOOD he contributed to music and the world.

I think most of you have lost it…..Chris Brown is not ready to be in the lime light….The BET Awards was a mess….They rushed the show to do a tribute to MJ and it was a disgrace to MJ and his family….Jay-Z did a good job and I find it hard to belive that Jay-z has that much power with BET. Come on people. I still like Chris Brown and believe that we should not judge him, but it is not time for his right now……There is just so much that was wrong with this show I would need more time and space to write about it….Jamie Foxx, out of order, Little Wayne, out of order, Solijah Boy, terrible, not a fan and never will be. New Edition, terrible, Guy, terrible….I could go on and on…

Great Show! I was elated to see how well BET and the stars were able to come together and do this tribute for Michael Jackson…. Im sure there will be a throughly planned tribute or BET HONORS Show in the near Future! Keep reaching! Keep seeking!

I think Chris should have been able to perform,at some point in our lives we have to be able to forgive and forget.Jay is the truth I ‘ll give him that but who is he to make decisions like that for BET.Lastly Beyonce’s performance could have been a little better.R.I.P. I would have preferrd to see chris brown preformed; then Jayz. The preformance that came from Jayz and Beyonce, was poor. That nite was in tribute to Micheal and Chris Brown would have riped the moon walk and all MJother move’s. For BET to not have let the fans choose rather then listen to one voice was a horror able decision . Chris Brown has suffer enough, Let it go it’s time to forgive him, God has. This really hurted chris brown, you could see it in his face when he spoke about his favorite MJ song.

I think Jay Z did BET a favor with the whole Chris Brown thing. It is too soon for Chris to be performing on anyone’s awards show. I dont hate Chris Brown, but the night would have been moreso about his first performance since the incident than anything else. BET would have got alot of backlash for that; much more than they are getting for sideing with Jay. Beyonce is a puppet, she’ll do what she is told, but Jay didnt do anything wrong. He told them what it was and let the channel make the decision. Chris need to sit down for a while. He can make a Youtube tribute or something. He did not belong on that stage at all! BET was dumb for even approaching him on it. They would have caught hell if he performed. He’ll be back, but now is not the time. Seems like he was trying to use this tragedy to get his career back on track. Not cool. Maybe Jay Z was feeling that, too. BTW, I absolutely LOVE Jay’s new track.
