I thought the BET Awards 09 was awful!!! If they were going to make it a tribute to him, then all of the artists selected should have done just that. It was distasteful and classless.

Jamie Foxx needs to be ashamed of himself… He acted as if he has never been on Television before. I will never buy anything else of his or see any of his movies. This was OUR platform to show the world we knew how to celebrate our ICON MJ, but get on tv and jump around like a bunch of idiots…

I am embarrassed that BET even aired this foolishness. Debra Lee you should be ashamed too!

The show was a complete and utter disaster. Jay-Z is always of the chain! Beyonce??? What the hell was she doing! Monica & Keisha awful… Soulja boy needs to go to war and be a real soldier… Jamie Foxx a disgrace… Lil Wayne sickening… Maxwell classy!!! Ne yo classy!!! The rest made me want to vomit!!!

I was extremely disappointed that Chris Brown did not perform. Who cared about that autotune shananigans that Jay-Z performed??? That show was not all about him. I wished he and Bey would’ve dropped out so that Chris Brown could perform. I think everyone would’ve enjoyed it alot better!

This is the reason i NEVER watch BET, and I ONLY tuned in b/c of Michael Jackson and wanted to see the tributes and performances.

first off Jay–Z was wack didn’t like him or his stuck up wife. Second Chris Brown was wrong for what he did and that’s is between him and his girl…..And i know Jay had slap a couple of girls before so please u ain’t the sh**. The 2 people that really needed to be there was Usher and Chris, and Chris is the best one who can portray MJ….BET u made a mistake with that one.

I think that everyone did a wonderful job on the awards. However, Jay-Z as an excellent artist should have put his differences aside. Chris Brown does a great impression of MJ’s moves and that would have been nice to see included in the tribute. All in all, the awards was HOTT. GREAT JOB BET!!!

That is cool how everybody feels about chris. But nobody seems to get what Jay did to lil wayne and drake. By performing his song and shoutting them out was excuse the expression “Gangsta”. And to the King of pop we will always miss you. And really Debra how long does it take a plane to fly someone from France.(Usher). But Neyo tried to hold it down, He did his thing.

If what’s being said is true about Jay-Z objecting to Chris Brown performing on then I am going to say that was a bad move BET. Who is Jay Z? Does he own BET? Is he working as the program director there? That Chris Brown stuff is old and needs to be put away…Jay Z walking around like he is God and he’s never made mistakes or done stuff wrong. Mike Tyson beat his wife and women but I bet you anything Jay Z was supporting Mike by going to fights or watching…Jay Z sucked and I would have rather seen Chris Brown do a tribute than have to listen to Jay Z…as a matter of fact…I actually got up and left the room…it was only so much I could take… I also think that this year’s BET awards show was one of the worse…I can probably count on one hand good moments..they should have just kept the show like it was originally and then had another tribute show for Michael cause it was obvious that it was rushed and thrown together. I know its nots BET fault (because the death of MJ was so unexpected) but still they should have thought the show concept out better.

This was a tribute, this was not about Jay-Z or Chris Brown’s situation. This was a tribute to the King of Pop. I don’t see why Chris was not able to perform. What about Michael having his past situations???? That didn’t stop US from celebrating him…..

Jay Z definitely killed it. But I was really looking forward to seeing Chris Brown. And they could have kept that Drake and Lil Wayne performance what the h3LL kind of tribute was that. I couldn’t even hear one whole sentence because they had to sensor it on another night maybe, BUT then standing on the stage were children with them …… What?!!!!?!!

Im so confused! Im not a huge BET fan but I am a fan and thought they would do a better job at choosing who would do great tributes to MJ. I understand they didnt have much time but they do know who can do good tributes. Beyonce NO!!!!!!!! Jay Z NO!!!! I like Jamie Foxx so Im not gonna hate on him. Love ya Jamie!!! My goodness, well first of all I enjoyed different parts of the BET awards and I really think Mr. Foxx did a darn good job with the changes. I really wish I could have seen Chris Brown do a special tribute to M.J. I don’t really care what he did in the past we can not continue to keep judging him for his mistakes cause he is still human and he is not perfect. I think BET and Debra Lee should not have Jay-Z perform nobody wanted to hear him Hate on other rappers on the awards. I understand now what T-pain was talking about when he mentioned the haters in his speech. Which ever rapper that wants to use autotunes go ahead cause we all go mouths to feed and bills to take care of and every rapper or singer that I have heard use autotunes has released another sung that did not have it. The game is the game and you have to play it. Jay-z needs not to worrry cause in the south were are not rockin your stuff anyway. Jay-z aint nothing but a HATER!!!!!!

Personally I think this particular show was a bit tacky. I understand and appreciate the concept .also I’m a huge fan of jamie foxx but he really disappointed me this time with the grabbing his self and reffering to his private parts as an anaconda and the overall joking about micheal was just overall CLASS LESS .did you forget this was a family show .it just was’nt the time and place for this type of ignorance.overall neo,tyrese,and maxwell did a wonderful job.and I would have liked to see chris brown do his thing because regardless of what he does in his personal life the boy is bad.and I think he would have represented micheal to the fullest.

Although DOA is a great song was the wrong time, wrong place. BEYONCE although I love how creative she can be, that was a bit much. I enjoyed the OJAYS and Wayne could have been a little less high and actually perform as I’ve seen him do so well. Its amazing when these black stars go to OTHER award shows that class that they show and when Its time for award shows that celebrate black heritage they act a mess we were on centerstage and showed every stereotype about blacks to be seemingly correct. HOV not all your music has been HARDCORE. Its amazing we have songs talking about having fun and your upset because there not telling kids to hurt each other.
