I think that most of the people commenting about Jay Z must be real young or something, cause he’s one of the best. I’m a true Jay Z fan, from the beginning and haven’t found much that I don’t like. The song was great, he performed well, and made his comments that were much deserved. I like all the auto-tune stuff, but it gets real old when EVERYONE starts using that sh*t for all their songs. Can we just let T-Pain do his thing and everyone else can sit back and have him do a track on their album and make money? JAY, he did his thing and was rockin’ it! And B was down there singing the words right along with him! Chris would have done a great performance, and I like the kid – but Hova is Hova.

First of all—BET — the show that was planned prior to the death of MJ should have went on as planned—-. Nobody rushes a tribute—especially to the KING OF POP. As far as the thought— it was nice but the show was a disgrace and I’m upset that the world had to witness that ghetto mess!– Jaime—WHY did you even try to do MJ—leave that for USHER, CHRIS BROWN, *SHOULD”VE BEEN THERE* AND NEYO! WE LOVE YOU< but NOOOOOOOOOOOO! — CIara– WHAT?!?!? She was horrible— I stood up when NEYO sang Praise to him! You did ya thang I I know MJ heard you! For those of you who don’t appreciate true talent—Beyonce put it down! That song was for MJ— and she sang the hell out of it! Everybody can’t shake their a$$ when you do a tribute— Who let Don out of his retirement center?!.. and BABY BOY took it way too far— unnecessary. The OJ’s tribute was outstanding!— AND WHY IN THE WORLD did BET allow Lil Wayne to rap a song full of vulgar words with kids onstage?!?! Once again—THE WORLD WAS WATCHING and you all disappointed. Joe Jack-ass– you’re the reason Michael was the way he turned out in the end—he shouldn’t have been there smiling for sh*T…. the old school part was whack—Monica was amazing— Jay- Z —I love him but that performance was not what we needed to hear— What happened to grace and style? What happened to respect for ourselves? This was a huge let down…

This past week, we’ve showed the world how much we love Michael. We’ve showed the world that we’ve always had his back, and that Michael was truly an extraordinary being. The world will be a lesser place of love without him.

This years BET Awards was an outstanding show on so many levels – BUT, is was so obvious that Chris Brown was not there. His moves are like liquid -’Poured smooth from a glass.’ His tribute would have been the closet thing to Michael’s performance in Motown 25. Grant it, he’s made mistakes, but we all have. No one seems to know where to go with the issue of he and Rihanna. As a community, we should show help and support for these two young people. We SHOULD NOT shun our own and join in on the media tearing us down. Let’s figure this out, and get them back to where they belong.

CB , usher and j timberlake should have done a back to back dance tribute…THAT would have been a tribute! BET got it wrong if they think for 2 seconds that that was the tribute. they should have left the show the way it was and dedicated it to MJ. They better start planning a real tribute cause that show sucked! Jay z did his thing …and beyonce was WACK to say the least waste of my time

I am very upset with BET not putting Chris Brown to pay his repects to MJ! Who the HELL is Jay Z to tell you guys who to put in YOUR show. First of all is WAS SUPPOSE to be a TRIBUTE to MICHAEL JACKSON not JAY Z! I think if yall had Chris Brown to perform it would’nt have SUCKED so badly! If your gonna let “entertainers” like JAY Z and BEYONCE to tell yall what to do, Debra girl you need to give the show back to you ex-husband. He did a way better job, sweetie!

Didn’t like his performance nor the song…it was a bit much, not a good song for a tremendous occasion for Michael Jackson. None of Jay Z’s songs have meaning — they represent destruction and calamity.
As long as he’s been singing there was only one song I could stand to listen to and that was a CD with Lincoln Park, you know how long ago that was.
He’s all about himself (greed) and have not contributed anything to humanity — if so no one is talking about it.

First and Foremost Jay-Z is NOT God or a judge and jury, and therefore should not have had any pull from Chris Brown not performing in honor of MJ! WHAT DO HIS COURT ISSUES have to do with him paying homage, respect, honor to his idol who he has always given props too????
Also Jay-Z is not a rapper he just got in when Tupac and Biggie passed! Believe you me if they were still here it would be Jay-Z who

Jamie Foxx did not do a good job being the MC on bet-awards. Jamie was trying too hard. Chris Tucker would have been great. Debra Lee thought he would do a great job, but he did not , and I like Jamie. Beyonce, what were you going for, just asking for real, did someone ask you to do this , or were you inspired by something or someone, just honestly wanting to know.

BET should do a real tribute to Michael Jackson in his honor. Please leave Beyonce, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Jamie Foxx, and all those trashie performer out of the equation. Put on a real honorable show to MJ with entertainer such as Chris Brown, Usher, Omario, Justin Timberlake, Christine Agu,Jennifer Hudson, etc people who would really perform in tribute a to MJ.

Even though the BET Awards were put together at the last minute for MJ it should had been about MJ not Jay-Z or Beynoce those songs they sung were for their own amusement it was not to MJ that was so sad. Threats of keeping Chris Brown off the show was not a wise desicison for a CEO to make. Jay-Z and Beyonce were not MJ people so to speak. Jay-Z and Beyonce need to take a long vacation for a few years have some babies and settle down. The twosome are boring as hell. On if BET does do a specail tribute to Michael Jackson do not have Jamie Foxx as the host please find someone else with real class.

I feel as though the bet awards were about jay and bey; if they allowed them to dictate who and what was approiate for the tribute to Michael Jackson. I’m sure most people thought that Chris Brown performing was going to be a great tribute…note to Jay do you think you could of came up with 16 bars about MJ instead of DOA; I’m sure all your fans would off truly appreciated the effort and given you more props for your skills…and being on your game!!!

The BET awards were an embarrassment to African Americans. To allow open bottles of alcohols and blatant disrespect of women during Lil Wayne performance is unacceptable. I feel that this a form of institutional racism at its best. What is the most difficult to swallow is the racial suicide committed by the artist. Just sad.

I was really disappointed with the show this year!!!! I was waiting for Chris Brown to perform for MJ and nothing. The show is for the fans not Jay-Z . Him and his wife’s performances were unacceptable and boring. Mrs. Lee you have to listen to the fans not the artists who records aren’t selling. What Chris and Rihanna went thru is done. This is about Michael Jackson!!!!! And Jay-Z isn’t so pure with promoting and selling drugs that kills and destroys lives as he’s stated in his music he has done.
