I’m glad that finally Haitian females are going to have a positive role model-matter fact a role model at all-on television. A woman who carries herself with class and diginity and represents her organization well. It has been long over due. I have a few questions for Ms. Ivy; on your blog it says you were embarrassed to be a Haitian for Three years in high school. Why were you embarrassed, and why should we trust that you will represent the Haitian culture now? Second question, you are a beautiful girl! So why do you seem so insecure on the show? You don’t seem comfortable with in your own skin. In my opinion there are many things your could have done differently to look more attractive.

Ms. Shante Gibson, no disrespect, but did you read my message in its entirety. My message was simply to address and encourage. Although, I feel as though I did not need defend myself to you, Ms. Shante Gibson, but I do feel a need to correct your misguided form of thinking. Most major College/Universities students are blessed to meet people from all over the world, many with different life styles, opinions and ideas. In college we are taught that everyone may not have the same idea or opinions as you , but in the end you do not have to agree, but you have to respect them because the world dose not revolve around you. Please be informed that you should not take offense to something that is opinion base and not fact base. Why waste your time, you will not and can not change MY opinion which, is obviously your intention. My opinion is mine opinion. I thought this forum was set-up to allow individuals of all sector of life and individuals with possible un-bias opinions to express themselves freely (do not damage that). You will be a lot happy if you grasp this understanding. By the way, contridicting is spelled contradicting and is defined as, “statements or arguments related to a given point which are in direct opposition to one another.” Are you sure that is the WORD you want to use? I do not believe I CONTRADICTED myself, I simply believe I offered a honest, but challenging disagreement that you could not handle.
You stated that, “These 10 people accomplished something that many can only dream of and wish they would have tried out.” In your attempt to call me a hater, Sista, you are misinformed I personally do not care to be part of this, I dream bigger. My name does not have to be in lights for me to know that I am important. I am a Christian, educated, happy, successful, and simple and I love it (Now what). If I would ever foster the thought of being on TV it would be on NBC or ABC (I dream bigger).
My message addressed a lot more than the party scene. Please read my message in its entirely and you will see that my purpose was to address a serious stereotype and encourage these individuals to go beyond labels and become so much more. There is nothing wrong with a social life by all means, but why can’t it be put on hold, so they can give complete focus to the task at hand.
If you want to discuss this further I will be more than happy to send you my personal email , but I will not allow myself to be bullied into a forums so that people can misconstrued my opinion and take sides ( This is not my purpose) . I am not here to win anything, but I do believe it is important to address the wrong and make it right. I am not praying that they fall , because I know better to address my God with such foolish wants, but if you read my message in its entirely you would see that I want to promote positive behavior and not shameful protocols.

How are you Soror Ivy? I just wanted to let you know just how much I commend you for putting Tationna in her place regarding the phone booth situation. Her actions were utterly disrespectful and ridiculously exagerated. In the end, I’m sure she felt as big as an ant once you showed her just how absurd her attitude was. Continue to represent women of great stature and substance as you have. You make us proud. And last but not least…keep representing Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. to the fullest extent. Is this the best and brightest of HBCU’s….If so I am sadly disappointed with our Black Colleges….You would never see mainstream University exposing their students in such nature…If this is the best and brightest of our HBCU’s I will definetly see that my two son’s attend elsewhere….God help us and I mean it….
Both girls are wrong in my opinion.I agree Ivy’s hand gesture was not called for. Although, Tati took to the next level she was wrong. How can you guys say that Ivy is mature when in her blog she is fighting with her words. A true lady would have squashed it and not mention , ‘ a telephone would have turned into a shoe.” Ivy sorry chick you provoke her and you think you came out on top , no you just came out above Tati. Which is not much. Also, we all need to remember that we only see segments of the show who knows how long Ivy was on the phone. Ivy, you should have taken it into consideration( It is called sharing).
I think Ivy was wrong as well.Her actions is what led to the argument , which everyone seem to want to forget. A professional( I think not) she took it there with her gesture ( which are like fighting words) and could not handle the repercussions. She obviously knew Tati was not going to act in a favorable manner after her gesture ,like most people, If she was bold enough to make a gesture ( which she knew what she was doing) to Tati she should have been ready for for what happen next. Come on Ivy you wanted to show that you were hard and got scared when Tati step to you.
