So here’s the scoop on the first episode. Marc and Jena look like they’re really hitting it off. They have a lot in common; both of them are cute, tall and played basketball. But then again, they have strong differences. Jenna is really outspoken, loud and demanding, while Marc is quiet, laid back and chilled. That might be a recipe for destruction, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.
Off the bat, there seemed to be clicks forming. Poor Spencer was deemed the “outcast” from day one, and nobody really knew what to make of Tia when she first walked in. Little did anyone know Tia was running on 0 hours of sleep. She was celebrating her birthday the night before and, from what I hear, her party was banging! She really must have wanted to be at this internship to show up after a night like that … or does she?
When Dr. Ian walked in the room, the reactions were genuine; we were really surprised. We didn’t know we were going to have an adviser, let alone a celebrity adviser. Another shocker was when Dr. Ian told us that there was going to be a mid-term evaluation and that some people might be going home. We were all instant friends, but everyone’s guard was slowly starting to rise … not sure how long this friend thing will last, are you?
The house was hot, but I wish we had a pool, not that I would want to get my hair wet, but living with Kathy and Kasheef, a pool would have really made for some interesting moments in the house (wink, wink).
One thing we all had in common, though, was that we LOVE to PARTY! We decided to go to the bowling ally because it was too early to hit the club, lol. But leave it to Chicago to have a club that’s on and poppin’ on a Monday night. Maurice was the dancer of the house; he taught all of us how to do the Bay and the Souljah Boy. I wanted to try out some dance moves on Kasheef, but I thought it was too early to get him sprung off my dancing abilities, lol. Apparently Jenna and Marc weren’t at all as shy as I…

I was not impressed with the first two episodes at all. This is a bad (Ghettofied version) replication of The Apprentice (my favorite show). Why is it that every new black reality show has to take place in the clubs? Take for instance, The Apprentice, the people that are selected have already made up their minds that they are there for the great opportunity, and not the thrill of being on television. They take everything seriously, but than again, these ones are already professionals and not wanta be professional (No offense). It should have been a requirement that everyone wear complete business attire. What were Letia, (jeans), Ivy (shorts), and Maurice (jeans) thinking? I was hoping that this show made its mark on turning around the all so typical all Black cast that BET glorifies.
The first day everyone started off with wanting to get their party on. As a young black educated woman I was highly embarrassed. I think it is time that young black educated youths mean more than just club hopping, skin tight wearing, belly showing attire
In all honestly, I (and others like me) took a personally ban against BET, but I happened to be channel surfing and came upon this show. Things have not changed. BET stands for Black Entertainment Television, when you use the word Black you must take on the responsibility that surrounds the word and lifestyle. Black is universal, so it caterers to all black creed alike, Black Cubans, Africans, Jamaicans, Haitians, and etc and just Black Americans. So why it is that BET only represent only one forms of black people on their station. Lets us contribute more to the world that have enslaved us in only being entertainers ( not to say that there is something wrong with that) and not well- rounded Doctors, lawyers, teachers, and scientist ( because we are more and can be more) ( “Let my people go” -Exodus).
Please, the cast of College Hill Interns present yourself in a calm and collective matter because young back youths from around the world are counting you to represent them in a positive manner. Please if you can not handle the responsibility than get off TV. In the words titled on Bill Crosby and Alvin F. Toussaint’s new book Come on People. In my opinion (which it should matter because I am a young black youth), everyone should be required to read the book in its entirety. I will give the show another chance once again with an open mind and heart.

You said young black and educated after wanta Ms. Sandy Beach? Not only are they young black and educated, but they are also human. Yes they did talk about partying, but why shouldn’t they? These 10 people accomplished something that many can only dream of and wish they would have tried out. For someone to down-talk and degrade them as if they were so wrong for wanting to have fun and celebrate is ridiculous. For you to be just channel surfing you obviously continued watching the episode and will continue watching it because it is entertainment. You made absolutely no sense being as though you were contridicting yourself! Ms. Shante Gibson, no disrespect, but did you read my message in its entirety. My message was simply to address and encourage. Although, I feel as though I did not need defend myself to you, Ms. Shante Gibson, but I do feel a need to correct your misguided form of thinking. Most major College/Universities students are blessed to meet people from all over the world, many with different life styles, opinions and ideas. In college we are taught that everyone may not have the same idea or opinions as you , but in the end you do not have to agree, but you have to respect them because the world dose not revolve around you. Please be informed that you should not take offense to something that is opinion base and not fact base. Why waste your time, you will not and can not change MY opinion which, is obviously your intention. My opinion is mine opinion. I thought this forum was set-up to allow individuals of all sector of life and individuals with possible un-bias opinions to express themselves freely (do not damage that). You will be a lot happy if you grasp this understanding. By the way, contridicting is spelled contradicting and is defined as, “statements or arguments related to a given point which are in direct opposition to one another.” Are you sure that is the WORD you want to use? I do not believe I CONTRADICTED myself, I simply believe I offered a honest, but challenging disagreement that you could not handle.

My name does not have to be in lights for me to know that I am important. I am a Christian, educated, happy, successful, and simple and I love it (Now what). If I would ever foster the thought of being on TV it would be on NBC or ABC (I dream bigger).
My message addressed a lot more than the party scene. Please read my message in its entirely and you will see that my purpose was to address a serious stereotype and encourage these individuals to go beyond labels and become so much more. There is nothing wrong with a social life by all means, but why can’t it be put on hold, so they can give complete focus to the task at hand.
If you want to discuss this further I will be more than happy to send you my personal email , but I will not allow myself to be bullied into a forums so that people can misconstrued my opinion and take sides ( This is not my purpose) . I am not here to win anything, but I do believe it is important to address the wrong and make it right. I enjoy the College Hill show on BET. Personally I feel the cast members are fit for television.The young women are well bred and they all display a combination of quality. The young gentlemen also convey integrity and humble character. Overall, I assume the entire aspect of having an opportunity to make a public appearance and experience of being considered a celebrity,remarkable.

Is this the best and brightest of HBCU’s….If so I am sadly disappointed with our Black Colleges….You would never see mainstream University exposing their students in such nature…If this is the best and brightest of our HBCU’s I will definetly see that my two son’s attend elsewhere….God help us and I mean it….Remember, you only get one chance to make an impression.

It is time to turn the black image around and become more than entertainers and sports stars.
