Episode Eight – Transition In Action

December 30th, 2008

episode-8-pic.JPGWhat is going on good people? Wow, another exciting episode from America’s favorite family. So let’s start this thing off on the right note. Keyshia is all about branching off and becoming an outlet to help others start their career. We see her in the studio with her cousin and artist Amina knocking out tracks for her upcoming album. Keyshia enlists the likes of Jazzy Phae for some production. Hey it doesn’t hurt to have a cousin with connections that’s for sure.

Neffe and Frankie are always working on their relationship. The question is will they ever get it right? The two make another trip to see Dr. Wilson for more counseling. Neffe’s beef is that she wants her mom to have better men in her life. Frankie tells Dr. Wilson and Neffe that young cats like ‘Zo’ made her feel good and all about herself. Frankie does get that she needs men her age right now in her life and she recites her list of qualities the man should have. Neffe is elated to her the progress her Mom has made and starts acting a fool on table. Okay, Neffe that was a little too much there shorty. :)

Keyshia is done with her album and is ready to take the family off to Water World. The entire crew including R&B star Monica head off to the waves. Keyshia looks mighty fine in her bikini! She tells Frankie she needs to hope in one too. Frankie is not trying to hear any of that noise but with a little coercion from Keyshia she gets in one. The family all goes to the 50 ft. incline slide but no one wants to go down it. Frankie of course takes the leap and goes down the slide at the age of 50! Holla!

Neffe is starting to come to terms with her life and visits Bishop Eddie Long for his guidance. He prays for her and lets her know that things are going to be alright for her and her family! It’s good to see Neffe getting some solace in her life. Now all she needs to do is stop crying so much and wiggling on tables in public. :)

Episode Seven – Album Release

December 17th, 2008

blog-keyshia-1.JPG What is good everyone? This past Tuesday brought us another riveting episode of Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is.  The show started off with Keyshia in L.A. putting the finishing touches on her third solo release, “A Different Me”. She is visited by her doctor who advises her that her tonsils will have to come out. The doc was all up in Keyshia’s mouth for that diagnosis. Ha! I wish I was the attendee that day!

Back down in Atlanta Neffe hits the promotion block to promote her book. She is on V-103 the hot station in Atlanta–so I’m told. We get to meet her new man…Soullow! Who is this dude and where did he come from? When being pressed by the radio jock about their relationship ol’ Soullow did the whole she’s a good woman routine, blah…blah…blah. That dude won’t be around long.

Neffe is asked to go the Aniz Foundation and talk to young girls who have been abused and or have been infected with HIV/AIDS. She decides to bring her oldest daughter Brianna so that she can learn. Neffe tells the girls her story and reminds them to all speak up if something bad happens to them and most importantly protect themselves. Neffe, I think has a future in being a motivation speaker. Shout-out to Neffe for instilling some change and direction into those girls lifes.

Back in L.A. Keyshia and the Ron Fair work on the last pieces of her album. They all sit around and talk about what should be the lead single or set-up song. Keyshia wants the uptempo Polow Da Don track and Ron wants to go with the Tupac featured track “Playa  Cardz Right”. Ron wins! The night comes for everyone to hear the album and it is a star-studded listening party. Jamie Foxx, Monica, Kwame and Frankie are in the house! The tracks that we got a sample to hear were tight and Keyshia sounds better than ever. Frankie and Ron Fair got her dance on if that is what you want to call it. Keyshia seems happy with the album and it showed with her big smile at the end of the episode! “A Different Me” is in stores now so go out and support your girl Keyshia!

Well that is that for the latest episode on Keyshia Cole! Make sure to watch again on Tuesday night at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Until then this is Stretch’s Unofficial Guide to Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is Season 3!

Episode Six – Keyshia’s Day

December 11th, 2008

keyshia-blog3.JPG

It is Keyshia Cole Day in Oakland! That is how we start the episode of with Keyshia back in Oakland! We get to see Ya-Ya, Frankie’s mom and Keyshia’s maternal grandmother. Frankie and Neffe reflect on what Ya-Ya did and meant to them. From the sounds of it Ya-Ya took care of every-body’s kids in that family. Shout out to Ya-Ya! Neffe gets caught up talking about her grandmother and Elite gets teary-eyed because she missed the time growing up with Ya-Ya. Neffe then states that Ya-Ya was her everything…she was her Obama according to Neffe.

Keyshia is in town and shoot over to the Youth Uprising Center where she meets up with fellow Oaklandnite–Too $hort. She is given the rundown on how the youth in the area look up to her. Keyshia hits the stage after being informed of the struggles of her city. The crowds go nuts when Keyshia hits the stage to receive her proclamation for ‘Keyshia Cole Day’. The best part was Keyshia giving back and donating $10,000 to the youth center!

Now it’s time for the drama! I love this show since they hit you with the good deeds first then get gutter at the end. Since last season we have heard of the infamous Kevin. Well Neffe’s baby daddy makes a guest and I’m sure only appearance of the season. This dude is a straight character and I wonder what in the world Neffe was thinking on that one? The two start to argue over their son, Jaylin. Kevin wants to be around and see his son but his actions speak differently. This dude is a little out there if you ask me. Neffe asks him what does he plan on doing for his son? All he can do is respond with “I want him to dress like me”, what in the world! He then begins to parade the boy around in public showing off for the camera. This dude is a straight cornball! I hope Neffe learned her lesson on this one.

Well that is that for the latest episode on Keyshia Cole! Make sure to watch again on Tuesday night at 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Until then this is Stretch’s Unofficial Guide to Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is Season 3!

Episode Two – My Two Moms

December 11th, 2008

keyshia-blog7.JPG

Before I start this recap I have to say this is probably one of the funniest things I’ve seen since the video of the kangaroo punching some dude. Now let’s get into this thing the right way. The episode starts off with Keyshia strolling up into the crib and sees herself on the tube on an episode of 106 & Park. We be pluggin’! Anyway we get to meet Keyshia’s babies!  By babies I mean her three dogs Lolo, Gizmo and Lyric. It’s nice to see how she interacts with her pooches and it’s obvious she loves them because she creates a room just for them, equipped with furniture and freshly mural painted walls. The one thing I never knew existed were “doggie panties”, well I guess there is something for every occasion. Keyshia makes sure to buy her dogs some while out doing some shopping for them. An episode can not be complete unless we have a Frankie sighting and boy do-we-ever have one in this episode. Keyshia has a wonderful idea to to treat the two most important women in her life to a day at the spa. Yvonne and Keyshia are set to go except Frankie can’t go because she has a show. Where in the world did Frankie get a show from? Frankie’s tells Keyshia she’s getting 2 G’s for doing a walk-on at some show. Keyshia doesn’t take to that nicely. She wants to spend time with her moms and Frankie is talking about money. Frankie erupts on Yvonne and this causes Keyshia to bounce and utter the words “When is my life going to change?” Frankie is full of emotion and expresses that all she needs is her babies and a Newport! Wow, I need that to get me through my day too! Yvonne calls Frankie in an attempt to make good with the funniest woman on television since Carol Burnette. The conversation between them has some of the funniest one-liner’s I’ve heard in years. Yvonne wants to take Frankie to dinner to talk about “newness” and Frankie wants no part of it. According to her she is watching horror movies and eating Popeye’s Chicken! You gotta love that! Yvonne continues to push but Frankie isn’t biting. She tells Yvonne she needs to check her itinerary! Well after that whole conversation is over between them we all learn a few things about Frankie. She loves horror movies, Popeye’s, beer and she has an itinerary! I told you this season is going to be fire! Make sure to catch an all-new episode next Tuesday at 10 p.m. (ET/PT).
