Infidelity In The Kingdom: Tune In This Sunday at 10 AM/9C For Superstar Tye Tribbet’s Moving Testimony About His Own Infidelity And His Quest For “Restoration.”
Published by Cory “CoCo Brother” Condrey on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 10:52 am.
“Thou shall not commit adultery” is clearly one of God’s mandates from the 10 Commandments, yet almost every month we are hearing of another minister or gospel superstar who has stepped out on his marriage and is coming to the church for “redemption.” Is the Black church giving the Christian “celebrity” a pass when other subjects are gossiped and grilled from the pulpit? What about when the one committing the adultery is the pastor or a church leader? Do we get silent when our leaders stray?
This Sunday, Coco Brother will be talking to Gospel recording artist Tye Tribbett, who has dealt with the issue of infidelity in his relationship. Don’t miss his moving testimony.
Tune in to “Lift Every Voice” this Sunday, May 16 at 10 AM/9C for Tye Tribbett.

There are consequences for all that we do (living righteousness or sinful acts). I truly believe that we need to balance the grace of God and the judgment of God. Yes, God forgives and He definitely can restore relationships and reputations. To take sin likely is not wrong; I believe each heart bleeds individually. I wrote a book called “BETRAYED Will I Ever Be Able to Trust Again,” and it deals with the effect and dilemmas of pain in a raw way. I honestly feel that you need to evaluate the minister lifestyle as a whole and the affect of what he has done to his family, church and community. Then he needs to step down (regardless if it’s for a month or six months). If we brush it up under the rug, that will poison the entire congregation, and it will justify others to do so or harm others walk in Christ. Yes, we are humans, but we are Christians first. We fall and get up, but sin can never be taken likely. Because it will be repeated, if not by the minister, it may be by his children, his congregation, his neighbors, etc. Adultery should never be taken likely, your lifestyle is your testimony; and we don’t want to accept the consequences of our actions. David clearly stated that he sinned against God and he took his many punishments like a godly man. He did not blame anyone, nor did he justify his actions. Though God truly love David, he punished him for his behavior.
There are consequences for all that we do (living righteously or sinfully). I truly believe that we need to balance the grace of God and the judgment of God. Yes, God forgives and He definitely can restore relationships and reputations, but we should never take the love of God for granted. I wrote a book called “BETRAYED Will I Ever Be Able to Trust You Again,” and it deals with the dilemmas of betrayal and the pain it causes. I honestly feel that if a minister cheats, then his lifestyle as a whole needs to be evaluated and the affect of what he has done caused to his family, church and community. Then he needs to step down (regardless if it’s for one month, six months or twelve months), he can still be active in the church, but not as a leader. If we brush infidelity under the rug, is just like putting a bandage on cancer; the problem, the pain, and the symptoms are still there poisoning the entire body. We are humans, but we are Christians first, a new creature in Christ; and rest on the fact that through God and His power we don’t have to give in to the flesh. Adultery is absolutely wrong and our lifestyle is our testimony; I also strongly believe that each heart bleeds differently. If my spouse cheats on me, it may be hurt me, yet I will stand; however, that same betrayal may cause my sibling to stumble and fall. So then it’s should not only be about the leader needs, but about the peoples as well. Our desires may be legitimate, but it needs to be channeled God’s way. Humans love to enjoy the temporary pleasures, but we cannot accept the lifelong consequences. David was a true man of God and God loved David, yet when David sin, he owned up to the sin and he accepted the long, harsh and brutal punishments for his sin like a full grown real man.
Awesome show. Tye really ministered to the resurection power and God’s ability to restore that which “we” believe is lost in our lives. When he used the illistration of :Roll away the stone” Speaks to the way God always requires actions and faith to perform our miracle. He is able and ready. As I was still receiving Tye’s message. Chill came on…WOW. I was then forced to see the parallel in the two even though one was talking about adultery and the other death. Sin brings about death, and God has ALL POWER over death. God can change anything or situation in our lives and if we just be faithful and trust and believe that HE will do just what he said…there is NOTHING beyond our grasp. Thanks Coco Brother and BET.
We fall down but we get up through the grace of god. Remember this before judgment is passed.
One thing we all have to remember is that we are not god. We are human…even pasters. They are the messengers just lke we are to be messengers of god. Jesus died on the cross to forgive our sins. We are no one to judge anyone. God forgives all sins.
Let he that is without sin… you know the rest.
God I thank You for YOUR grace and YOUR mercy! I’m so glad you are not like man; when men forget their own failures and hold on to the failures of others, YOU forgive, chastise and restore us with your hand of LOVE. Please teach us to love as YOU do and to understand grace. Please teach us to cover our brothers and sisters with prayer when they are overtaken in a fall and not to judge them- remembering that it could have been us.
Thank YOU for restoring Tye to the place YOU have called him to. He is anointed and full of YOUR power. His ministy has been a blessing to so many people, which is of course why the enemy is out to attack him (besides the enemy is doing what he came to do- kill, steal, and destroy…). I thank You GOD for roots so deep in YOU that the enemy will be unsuccessful in his attacks against Tye from now on.
Whooo! I thank YOU GOD for the new fire I know Tye Tribbett will operate in- burdens will be removed, yokes will be destroyed because of the power that YOU, GOD, has placed on his life! All praises to YOU Dear God, You are the Greatest, Simply Amazing…
People forget that a pastor is human and is not God they fall short sometime too but remember that God sent his son to die on the cross for my sin your and everyones sin and that we should not judges that God job let him do it he need no help.
I, too agree with Una on pastors needing to step down until God restores him because by still preaching to the congregation kind of send out a message that’s it’s okay. God Loves the Sinner but hates the SIN. Yes, we all have fallen short of the glory of God and He without a fault cast the first Stone; but we are not sitting in judgement but we are saying DO THE RIGHT THING. Life is full of nothing but CHOICES and there is a CONSEQUENCE for every decision we make whether good or bad. I know that a CONGREGATION is no better than Their PASTOR he sets the tone for what goes on in his congregation and if the congregation see’s the head doing wrong in the sight of God and getting away with it ; then how is it that the members can’t either. I’ve seen to much of this in my life time and it brings a bad name to the BODY OF CHRIST but yes, we are to FORGIVE them just as Christ FORGIVES ALL OF US. But the church (us) are not to be conformed to the WORLD , but be YE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWAL OF YOUR MIND (thinking) WE are in the WORLD but not of the WORLD; but we all do make mistakes so it shouldn’t be held over our head but GOD IS A RESTORER of OUR SOUL. David sinned but he was a MAN AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART because he quickly REPENTED. If we confess our SINS, He is Just and faithful to FORGIVE us and CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. Amen
ALL sinners have a future and ALL saints have a pass. Its funny how ppl want to put their pass and failures behind them, but when other ppl tell their failures-SAINTS pass judgement. I tell ppl all the time, we dont have co-signers that helps just get into heaven but we sure have ALOT of helpers leading us to hell. Ppl are ppl and that why God (NOT PPL) sent His son to die for our sins. Ppl forget that God offers forgiveness for everyone-not just their sin when their in it. Over the yrs I have seen the same SAINTS judging ppl, be the same SAINTS behind the curtains doing the samething. As long as you dwell on other ppl flaws and sin, you cant work on your own bc their sin seems dirty than your own(justification). Tye Tribbett has and still is being a blessing to many-God has his reward and has given him forgiveness. Who are we to judge, who are we not to still suport and offer forgiveness. God loves us even in our messiest places. The P n pastor, prophets doesnt stand for perfect. I do know this, it easy for ppl to sit and judge and say what the sinner should do or how other ppl should treat them, but Tye is walking in his purpose and instead of focusing on the sin focus on the sinner that has lead so many ppl to God. The sad thing is ppl wont do that bc its easier to focus on the bad-anyone that has a true relationship with God (not religion) knows that he/she cant judge(you shouldnt be saying what he ought to do) but love him and support bc we all need that. Lets not forget that the enemy hasnt went on vacation for you either. He is always planning something-my question is when he(enemy) comes will you fall and if so how would you want the ppl to look at you. Tye keep doing Gods work and he is restoring you. You can admit your faults and failures, some ppl will go to the grave with theirs. There is no healing when you take it to the grave, but you are allowing God to get the glory. bc He(God) is allowing you to tell your story. B Blessed
I’ve been waiting for the video of this episode to be posted. When will it be on the website?
Come on Preacher ! You know when the enemy attacks the HEAD the body don’t have nothing comin! Come on man of God “you doin too much”! you want our money and our bodies? Doin too much! I know you are only human, so I will continue to pray for you and you for me.
God is still good, no matter how many mistakes we all make in this life. We only have to answer to one person. And thats God, who has a forgiven heart.
most who comment are not following the leaders/artist anyway. when is this show going to be posted so I can see this for myself? least you fall we need to pray and cover them. Yes, I believe that you should sat yourself down for at least 6months or longer. You know when you are ready to come back because you were the one who did whatever…. I sat myself down for 3years… yes.. 3years not for adultery.. I just knew that I needed to live a consistent life is I was going to be a leader period.. no one had to tell mee.. I knew it… keep it real people..if god lives on the insideof you.. then YOU know the REAl you… sat down and then get back up again and move forward.
The falling of church leaders is some of the main reasons people stray from church. People tend to place religious leaders on this pedestal of perfection, a spiritual glass pedestal that is shattered at the transgression of our leaders. I’m not condoning the acts of our leaders, however, as a teenager growing in Christ, I learned to continue to pray that our ministers live in the spirit, and pray for God to remind me that there is only One that we should look to for our help, and not base our faith in God, in the faith and acts of our ministers, just pray they get back on track…Look at David…
Oh and arent we leaders ourselves as children of God? So I pray that we continue to strive to live in the spirit, as our pastors, ministers and gospel celebrities do.
I am a christian and I believe that God forgives. If I may respond to the “black church”, as a whole we believe that infidelity and “going to the club” are the only two sins that we can commit. Sin is sin. It dosen’t matter if the minister commits adultery or if the usher commits adultery..it is still sin. So saying that, if everyone that commits sin steps down or is turned away by “the church”, then who will be left to spread the good news.
I believe that if anyone sins in anyway, he should repent , turn from his/her sinful ways and live on. Isn’t this the real meaning of salvation? God has died for our sins that we may live. Preach forgiveness and live “triumphantly”.
Why all of a sudden people start stating “let he who is without sin….” when it’s a famous pastor or gospel singer. Tye was one of the main artist speaking against all kinds of sins, and yet he the main one playing in it. I for one am tired of it. Yes, I know they are human just like the rest of us, and everyone falls short, and no one is perfect, but when does this come to an end. I believe that the many preachers and gospel artist arrogance and egos are what is irritating to me when it comes to this issue. They the first ones to damn people to hell and yet they need to preach to themselves before preaching to others. Being a self righteous christian is so LAME. We all need to seek Christ.
Between the comments on this post and the previous one about Ted Winn…are astonishing and revealing to say the least.
@ TruthBeSpoke…..
I was thinking the exact same thing. I just read Ted Winn’s blog and he was being condemned like Jesus on the cross.
This blog has nothing but supporters
saying things like ” People forget that a pastor is human and is not God they fall short sometime too” and “We fall down but we get up through the grace of god. Remember this before judgment is passed.”
This is one of the reason’s why I left the church.
SUCH HYPOCRISY!!
