I guess we’re going to start this service with just me, because I don’t have a mega church budget to pump you up with a Praise & Worship Team!
Anyway, just want to welcome you to “The Gospel According To Torrence” and get the preliminaries out of the way and answer a few of the questions probably running through your head.
You: “Umm, I’ve never heard of you.”
Me: “This is true, you probably haven’t.”
You: “So why do you have a blog?”
Me: “Because I can! Ha! But seriously, you may not have heard of me until this very moment, but I’d like to think I’m pretty qualified. Check the “about” section for a little more info!
You: “Umm ok, so what’s this blog about?”
Me: “Glad you asked! This blog will cover the happenings all things gospel on BET, including Sunday Best, and everywhere else straight from yours truly. (For those of you who show up for Sunday School on Saturday, I’m Torrence by the way.) But since no one dude is all things to everyone, I’m going to have some help. Guest bloggers from different areas of the gospel music industry and some of your favorite artists will be stopping by to give their 3 cents. (1 cent for the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, yeah! Gimme B-Flat!)
So that’s it for now. Feel free to comment, tell me what you want to see on the blog, and who you’re looking forward to hearing from. I can’t make any promises, but trust me; we have some of the best on the way. Check back everyday too, promise to have a little something for you, even if it’s just one of my random rants.
Now raise your right hand and repeat after me: “May the Lord watch between me and thee……” You know the rest!
I’m out!
Torrence

oh lawd! let’s get this party started! lol!
Whoo hooo!!! This ROCKS already, Torrence! I’m excited.
Oh,Ok I know this is to an extent only gospel entertainment but , I’am now a little disturbed. In watching tonights TV Show, I witnessed one of the most annionted vocalist at the Chicago audition, get turned away by only one member of the panel. is this about ministry at all Now, before we (here in tv land) argue about what actually happened. I have to let you know I’m a musician / vocalist ,and have watched and reviewed and discuss this with my wife and friends. I don’t know this young lady. I’ve never been to her church and have never seen or heard of her before. The young lady that I’m refering to had a speech impediment. When she gave her testimony and I heard her intoduce herself to the panel ,I was shocked and brought to tears when I heard a powerful and flawless audition. It was very obvious to me and my folk that she was what I thought this competition was about. Someone that can sing very well (check), Love and has a relationship with God (check), and is annointed to sing (check). I was simply ,absolutely floored that she didn’t get the Sunday best invite. Erica was delighted. Be Be was as well, and he let her know that he suffer with the same impediment at on time in his life and she should not let is flaw discourage her. Tina on the other hand, was not impressed and said she didn’t hear anything great and you have to be better than just good. This sounds to me like a two vs one vote, witch they did in ATL , earlier in the show .Be Be followed by expressing that he didn’t agree with Tina, but encouraged her to keep singing. ARE YOU SERIOUS . So the it was only up to Tina to vote. They didn’t even talk about it. If Be Be and Erica was so delighted and disagreed with Tina. Why didn’t they Speak up in he defence. I thought it was “Whak” and I’am watching the show in prayer that this annointed vessel is brought back as a wild card pick. Is this just an American Idol where you have to sing Gospel songs. I have great respect for the judges ( I buy there material).I think they missed the ministry and are looking for Vocal acrobatics and a stylish outfit . What do you think ?
God bless,
Javon
You know what? I am rather disappointed at the shenanigans I experienced with Sundays Best. It is a farce. I like “Be Be” but, “Mary Mary” come off too worldly, especially the bright-haired one, and Kirk, he sold his soul a long time ago. It’s apparent that the world (BET) owns this show and they are hirelings that refuse to represent the Kingdom of God and its tenants. I am trouble by what I viewed, the entire process is flawed and in need of a make over. If you are going to seek to be vehicle by which, a prepared artist that lacks the resources, might use this stage to elevated his/her ministry, than promote that and do that! But, if your intent is to exploit people for ratings and somebody, anybody haphazardly, will be rewarded, than say that! There are quality gifts that did not see the light of day because of the disingenuousness of the process. You all will undoubtedly discourage someone into thinking this (singing) isn’t the will of God for them, because they thought you all were “real” and spiritual. Please be advised all responsible (producers, writers, cameraman, sponsors, host and judges) this was the wrong genre of music to use for merely a profit maker, you shall give an account. The lady with the speech impediment is “aired proof” that you guys (all involved) may be BETS Sundays Best; but are far from God best creation. Please repent and be restored.
Please tell me where is Bridgette is the best of the best!
Oh great! I’m not too late!
