This post may be short. Because it’s really not about my “commentary” but about the song and the cause.
During this past Stellar Awards weekend, Kirk Franklin and a TON of the gospel artists in town came together to record a song to inspire, comfort and raise funds for the people affected by the recent earthquakes in Haiti. A gospel “We Are The World” if you will. I think the gospel industry ought to be commended for this effort and I support it fully and hope you will too. Read the rest of this entry »

Yes, you heard me, right. “The 2009 Soul Train Awards.” Centric, BET’s new “grown and sexy” sister network has brought it back! (it’s late and I’m too tired to find a more original description, but you get my point.)

Sup folks. I kind of went on a twitter rant today about this topic so someone suggested I put it all in one place. So here goes.
There were a lot of excited new artists twittering and facebooking to the top of their lung fingers that “Ooooh, I’m nominated for a Stellar Award, go vote for me now!” Umm, I appreciate your excitement and all that, but when the Awards tape and they name the “nominees” from that podium, there’s a good chance your name will NOT be on the list.
