Yeah buddy!!!!
It’s that time again! Celebration of Gospel (or COG as we call it in the industry, so lazy we are) 2010 is taping in Los Angeles, CA on Saturday, December 12, 2009! We’re going back to the Orpheum theater and this show is shaping up to be hot! It’s about to be a “family affair” and you can see why as you check out who’s scheduled to perform. You didn’t think we were done did you? Sunday Best Winner Y’Anna Crawley’s been banging it out in the studio but she had to take some time away to do some performances in different parts of the country. So I hope if she was in your city, you came through. Well, Y’Anna’s back in the studio and of course, my informant was right there for it all and let me in on how the album’s coming along. I hear she’s almost done! But more about that soon. I’m going to go ahead and let my informant talk this time. Read the rest of this entry »

Sup folks! Sunday Best Season 2 may be over, but our winner Y’Anna Crawley is just getting started. Many of you ask me, “When is the CD dropping” or “what sound is she going for?, etc.” Well, I wanted to know too, so I did some digging and got some info and even a few photos from Y’Anna Crawley’s first studio sessions. So yes, she’s working on her album RIGHT NOW (literally as I was typing this post!) Read the rest of this entry »

Sup folks. Busy week? Sure it is! This past Sunday Best season proved that not only were a bunch of you gospel fans, but artists in your own right. Knowing that, I do my best to not only bring you info on music and artists, but the gospel industry as a whole.
So with that said, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Bishop Albert Jamison, the Chairman of the Gospel Music Workshop Of America (GMWA). Read the rest of this entry »

Sup folks. Me…again. I told you, I’m not going anywhere. Just the other day (yesterday) I was watching all the old episodes of Sunday Best just to see if I may have gotten something wrong, would change something I said in the past, etc. I think for the most part, my feelings throughout the season would have been the same.
But then, the Choir Director in me rose up as I watched the episode where they wore those robes and backed up Byron Cage. Read the rest of this entry »
