After a 10 year hiatus Sade’s ‘Soldier of Love’ was probably the most highly anticipated album of 2010. Her voice is timeless and this album proved that she hadn’t missed a beat. Soldier of Love became Sade’s first number one US debut,and went Gold in it’s first week. To date the album has sold over 1.2 million copies.

Did you know Mrs. Baker was the one who introduced her to her now husband of 11 years, Grant Hill. SoulTrain.com caught up with Ne-Yo in the Red Soul Lounge at the 2010 Soul Train Awards taping. The Red Soul Lounge supported the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign that builds awareness about heart disease and strokes and empowers women to take charge of their health. Ne-Yo dished on the ways he keeps his heart healthy and he encourages the ladies to the same. Check it Out:

Kim Tumey Entertainment hosted their 2nd Annual Soul Train Gifting Suite at Atlanta’s Havana Club in Buckhead. The invite-only affair brought out a bevy of notables including, Soul Train Centric Award nominee Dwele , actors Leon and Lamman Rucker, recording artist Donell Jones and comedian Rodney Perry of the Mo’Nique Show. Hip-Hop and Soul unite. The first annual Soulfusion Soul Train Awards Pre-Show Concert is going down tomorrow in Atlanta! The all-star lineup will include Erykah Badu,Rick Ross, Trina, Slick Rick, Doug. E. Fresh, Mr. Vegas, Ray Lavender, Arrested Development, and Chrisette Michele. While the Soul Train Awards 2010 is invite only, this will give you the chance to see some of your favorite Soul Train artists.

While not a native Atlien, singer Janelle Monae has called Atlanta home for the past seven years. Shortly after the Kansas native, moved to the Peach State, she met rapper Antwan “Big Boi” Patton who was blown away by her vocal talent. She went on to work with the Outkast member on the soundtrack for the 2006 film Idlewild (alongside Andre 3000) and his Dugeon Family Got Purp? Volume 2compilation album. An connoisseur of the arts–and an extreme lover of music, Monae founded the Wondaland Arts Society—a collective of musical visionaries. After heating up the underground scene with her 2007 EP Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase). Her underground buzz begin to reach a fever pitch, and it caught the interest of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs who eventually partnered with the singer to re-release her EP in 2008. “Many Moons” the first single off her debut was nominated for a Grammy. Fast forward to 2010. The pint size musical wonder has released her sophomore album, The Archandroid, is nominated for a 2010 Soul Train Award and is slated to be touring with the Legendary Prince on his Welcome 2 America tour this December.
